Mr. Zero Interviews Rainbow Dash

Like any F-Zero Champion, Rainbow Dash is asked 16 questions by the eponymous interviewer Mr. Zero

Ever since their planet was discovered by the Galactic Federation and classified as an intelligent planet, everypony was excited about the possible events happening. Among these rumored events is a series of races across the galaxy at supersonic speeds where only the fastest can win. This particular event sounded like the perfect thing for a certain cyan-coated, rainbow-maned pegasus who lives for speed. Little does she know that she would actually end up being the champion of the Grand Prix, and has the great honor of being interviewed by Mr. Zero.

Crossover between My Little Pony (owned by Hasbro) and F-Zero (owned by Nintendo) with the events of this taking place during the time of F-Zero GX.

NOTE: As my first fanfiction on this site, this would be my way of getting my feet wet with writing stories. Comments and Criticism is greatly appreciated. This will start off as a One-Shot, but if it is liked enough, then I would start putting in more chapters and I would take requests of which character Mr. Zero would interview. If this is liked further, then I will make more stories that lead up to this one.

Rainbow Dash is the Champion

A background of space appears and transitions onto a holographic planet with rotating rings. As planet rotates, the words "F-Zero Television" are revealed. Afterwards, the planet segues into a round stage with a blue floor and neon blue tubes near the ceiling. The room is surrounded by television screens. Standing near the center was a tall, bipedal humanoid with a dark green suit with a lighter-green checkered inside shirt and a pink tie. His hair is spiky and green. The man's eyes are covered by a red headset and mic wrapped around his face. He is holding a silver microphone with red foam. He was accompanied by a cyan pegasus mare with a rainbow mane and tail. She was slightly hovering in the air, trying to contain her enthusiasm. As the camera centered onto the man, he spoke in a newscaster-like fashion.

"From the special F-Zero GP venue, we're broadcasting an interview with the Grand Prix Champion. Okay then, I'd like to ask you something." The red banner in the broadcast revealed the man's name to be Mr. Zero, an F-Zero Reporter. In the words at the far bottom moving to the left, one of the headlining news stated "RAINBOW DASH is the champion!" Mr. Zero thought a bit on what he was going to ask. When he found what he wanted to say, he pointed his microphone to the direction of the hovering pegasus. "Congratulations on your stunning victory!" Rainbow Dash smiled in response

"That was an awesome victory. I hope everypony watched me win!" She replied. Mr. Zero pulled back the microphone from Rainbow Dash.

"I see." He then thought of a new question to ask the champion. As a new question popped into his mind, he pointed the microphone back to Rainbow Dash. "Can you tell us why you became an F-Zero Racer?"

"You might not know, but back in Equestria, I'm known as the fastest pegasus. After I heard about the F-Zero and everything it offered, how could I not become an F-Zero Racer?" She stated excitedly.

"I see." Mr. Zero pulled the mic back to his face. He looked around the stage and saw a slim cyan vehicle with two wide rainbow-colored wings proudly pointing across horizontally. He saw that each wing contained about 3 gray boosters each with one larger booster planted at the center behind the machine. The front of the machine was sharply pointed and at the top was a door where the gray cockpit was visible. He pointed the mic back to Rainbow Dash. "That's a great machine you got there!" She smirked at the admiration Mr. Zero was giving to her machine. She hovered above the floor and engaged in a fighting stance, throwing some jabs at the air.

"The Sonic Rainboom was made with a combination of alien machines and pegasi technology. Just like me, it is designed to move swiftly past all of the competition while doing it with awesomeness. There was no way I could've lost!"

"I'd love to ride in that kind of machine just once in my life!" Mr. Zero voiced out. He then smiled as he was ready to ask another question. "May I have your autograph champ?" Rainbow Dash remained calm on the outside, but her ego was desperately screaming out of the honor of signing an autograph. Suddenly, a blue hologram square materialized in front of her, which she realized was what she had to write on.

"Does anypony have a reed I can borrow?" She sheepishly stated. Mr. Zero grabbed a gray stylus from his pocket and handed it over to Rainbow Dash, which she took with her mouth. She scribbled on the screen. When she was done, she dropped the stylus on the floor and gave it to Mr. Zero. "Only for the most awesome interviewer in the galaxy." The autograph was a bit rough on the cursive, but it was legible enough to read out "Rainbow Dash" with a star over the "i" and a long dash after the "h". He then faced the camera and used his free hand to point down at the screen.

"I'd like to present this autograph to one lucky viewer on F-ZERO TV. Here is the address." Flashing underneath the camera was a complex code signifying a television address. He moved his hand back and forth. As he looked back to Rainbow Dash, his mind flashed with another question. "What was the key to your victory?" Rainbow Dash dropped her eyelids a bit and went back onto the ground before she replied.

"The magic of friendship. All of my best friends were very supportive of my decision, and I had to win for them." She replied in a cool manner.

"I see." Mr Zero replied a bit confused at the 'magic of friendship' but continued on. However, with the thought of friendship in his mind, he was able to ask the next question with ease. "Your rivals are howling for revenge!" Rainbow Dash's eyes opened in response to the comment.

"If you didn't have enough of the beating I gave you all, then I will be more than happy to challenge each of you again. Just don't involve anypony else!" She crossed her forelegs as she said this.

"I see." Trying to continue on the chain of responses given, Mr. Zero gives out one more question in the same category.

"A message for all your TV fans out there?" He stated. The nature of the question calmed Rainbow Dash down to a more sizable level.

"For those of you who know what I'm about, keep practicing and you will be just as awesome as me. For any new fans out there, find something new to do. You just might be amazing at it!" Mr. Zero smiled at how Rainbow Dash responded to his question.

"Thanks for your words of enthusiasm champ!" When he said this, he realized just how difficult the grand prix had gotten recently. With this in mind, he decided to restate an old question. He pointed the mic back to Rainbow Dash. "The winner of the Expert Class. Congratulations!"

"I don't know what the Expert Class is, but a victory is still a victory that anypony can do." She said with a bit of a swagger in her voice.

"Thanks for your words of enthusiasm champ!" With this question set in play, several other questions popped into Mr. Zero's head. "What are your plans now that you've won?" Rainbow Dash scratched the bottom of her muzzle before she realized what she wanted her plans were. She faced the camera and spoke into it.

"Hey Spitfire, if you're watching this right now, I want to know if I can become a full-fledged Wonderbolt now. I did show everything needed for becoming one in this grand prix you know." Mr. Zero visibly sweated with how direct the champion spoke to the camera.

"I-I see..." He stuttered a bit with how pompous her response was. "So, how will you use the one billion space credits in prize money?" Rainbow Dash's facial expressions froze from shock about hearing her prize. When she regained a moment of movement, she used all of that time to speak.

"Wow, I don't know what I am going to do with all that money!" She lapsed for a moment before continuing. "Just, I think I'll just give it to Equestria. It might be good for starting off the galactic economy at my planet." Mr. Zero smirked a bit, enjoying seeing the shock on her face.

"Thank you for the interview." Now, he looked over the champion several times before he got a large amount of questions he is ready to ask her. "Did you make any new friends in the F-Zero?" Rainbow Dash wasn't expecting that question from her interviewer. So, she responded as best as she could.

"I made many friends in the F-Zero. Unfortunately, I kinda made a good amount of enemies as well." She scratched the back of her neck in anxiety as she recalls the terrifying threat of a huge man in a suit with terrifying horns at the top. She shuddered at the details on how he would devastate her. Mr. Zero saw the visual cues on Rainbow Dash.

"Don't worry champion. Captain Falcon, one of the greatest racers in F-Zero and a competitor you beat this year has many enemies as well. Yet, they can't touch him. I'm sure you are just as great as he is."

"Thanks Mr. Zero. I really appreciate that." Rainbow Dash's nerves have settled down, which gave Mr. Zero the opportunity to ask the next question.

"How did you enjoy your first F-Zero experience?"

"Even if I didn't become a champion, I still would have enjoyed the adrenaline pumping through me as I raced around through different locations like Mute City and Big Blue. Becoming the champion only made the experience better for me." Rainbow Dash responded energetically calm.

"I see." As Mr. Zero looked around on Rainbow Dash, he noticed several things he didn't notice before about her. "What does that mark on your flank mean?" Rainbow Dash looked back at her Cutie Mark, which was a rainbow-colored lightning bolt.

"That's my Cutie Mark. Everypony on my planet gets one when they discover their destiny. My Cutie Mark represents my speed and determination for breaking the sound barrier and achieving the Sonic Rainboom." She responded as if everyone should know what a Cutie Mark is.

"That's interesting actually. Who would've known that marks like that determined what you would do?" Mr. Zero wanted to learn more about the champion's home after hearing this. "Can you tell me why you have wings?" Rainbow Dash's facial expression deadpanned, but she realized that her planet was just discovered. So, she knew it was natural for aliens to not know about these things.

"Back on my planet, there are three different kinds of ponies not counting alicorns. Pegasus ponies are known for their wings, walking on clouds and creating weather patterns." She said happily. Mr. Zero's face showed a bit of shock.

"I see. I couldn't believe it, but I see." Despite the difficulty in believing that a race of aliens being able to manually control the weather, he decided to continue on with his last two questions. "What is most important to you?" Rainbow Dash immediately replied, already knowing the answer to this.

"That's easy. My friends are what are most important to me. It doesn't matter how many opportunities I get, but I know that Fluttershy, Applejack, Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie and Rarity will always be there, especially when I fall hard on myself. You really couldn't ask me for a better treasure than friends like them."

"I see. Well then, I have one more question I want to ask you." Mr. Zero thought hard on his last question. He didn't want to make the mistake of saying the wrong thing and getting nothing out of it. "Would you mind telling me what you did for your planet?" Rainbow Dash smiled in response to this.

"Well, me and my friends form the Elements of Harmony. We are the planet's best line of defense against the forces of evil. We've stopped Nightmare Moon from casting an eternal night on the planet and we stopped the spirit of chaos from disrupting harmony. Heck, we even defeated the embodiment of hatred itself." Mr. Zero was just speechless about what she said. In all of his career, he had never heard an insane story such as that before.

"Thank you for the interview." He then faced the camera. "And that's all for adrenaline-driven F-ZERO TV. That's it everyone, we'll see you all at the next Grand Prix." The camera then zoomed out, following a space-themed newscast end theme that said 'F-Zero TV' at the end.
