A prophecy was foretold that two great warriors will face off in an epic battle for Equestria.
Follow the story of a human who has died in his world and has come to Equestria to defend it from a coming darkness. Reborn with magic and strength, his must team up with the bearers of harmony to fight against monsters of all kinds of form and learn what it means to be a hero.
This fanfic takes place in the middle of season 3 of MLP:FIM.
Guardian of Equestria-Rise of the Blue Sun Chapter 1 A new beginning part-1
"Before the age of the Sun and the Moon, before the time of chaos and disharmony, and even before the gift of unity, there was a prophecy. It was said that one day two beings will have great and powerful magic that the world has never seen before. One being will be reborn from darkness and hate, and will have the power to shroud the lands with fear and plunge the world into eternal darkness of which no pony will ever escape. But the other being of which not born in this world, nor is it a pony will come from its world dead but reborn with the power to not just defeat the darkness, but to bring a new age unlike any other. It will be a day where a new golden age will begin where all will never fear the darkness again. The two beings will be locked into battle unlike any other and will either bring destruction upon all creatures on this world or will bring new hope. The signs of the prophecy will be clear; first a man from another world will come and he will shine like a blue sun, second the dark being will be an old foe from the pass and be reborn into a new body with the power of the red moon, third the blue being will face creatures sent by the dark being and will defeat them one by one, fourth the red moon will appear and the dark being will engulf its power and will strike, the fifth and final part is the blue being will come and face the coming darkness head on. As for what happens in end, only destiny will decide our fate."
As Princess Celestia was reading the final part of the prophecy her sister, Princess Luna, came in to the Canterlot library checking on her sister to see if she was ok.
"Sister, are you alright? It is near time to raise the sun", Luna said.
"Of course, I’m sorry dear sister I have been preoccupied by this prophecy", Celestia replied.
Luna looked at the scribe her sister was holding and said, "Oh that old thing, I remember reading that when we were just fillies, an old tale that made every filly wanting to becoming a hero and defeating a terrible villain. “Sigh” reminds me what made us princesses in the first place".
Both Celestia and Luna were remembering their younger days after they defeated Discord and became all of Equestria’s heroes and rulers, and that they had brought a new age of peace to all pony kind.
Luna looked over to her sister and notice that she was worried about something, she then said, "Sister, are you alright?"
"I’m afraid not", Celestia replied.
Luna looked at her with confusion.
Celestia then said, "In a few months, the day of the red moon will come and while it is something to be amazed at, I fear that the prophecy will come sooner then we think".
Luna looked at her older sister with a smile and said, "Oh sister, I do not think you have to worry so much about it. The red moon comes every 100 years and nothing terrible has happen so far, also the prophecy has said that a man will come and he will show his shining blue light to the world, and so far there has not been a single thing that has shined like a blue sun".
Celestia thought for a minute, she was then relaxed by her sister’s words and said, "You are right sister, it is something we should not be worried right now, in fact it is something to look forward to".
Luna looked at her sister with a smile and Celestia put down the scribe back to where it was, then went to her balcony and began raising the sun for a whole new day.
On Earth, in a small simple town, we finally get a chance to meet our hero in his room, an 18 old teen, with short spiky brown hair, brown eyes, sleeping in his room, alone, pass 10 a.m. ………wow, doesn’t seem much is going for him . As he finally wakes up, he puts his clothes on, and started to walk to his car to get some groceries. Then went to the grabbed everything he needed and went back to his car. Then he just remembered that he forgot the milk, so he ran back to the store, only to get hit by a car.
Then at first he felt nothing but pain and confusion and then all of sudden, nothing, he felt nothing except he was still confused. He opens his eyes and saw nothing but darkness while he was floating in the middle of nowhere. The first words that he could think of was…..
"Crap, I’m dead aren’t I?", Hawke thought.
Well normally people would not say that or would admit that, but then again he’s not really a normal person.
Hawke then said to himself, "Will this is the afterlife is it? Kind of thought that there would be angels, a golden gate, and God and his son welcoming me into heaven. I would think that this was hell, but last I check there was a lake of fire and everyone suffering in the fiery flames……… Of course when I think about it, I really don’t have that much to complain about."
As Hawke was talking to himself, which is weird by the way, a bright white light came out of nowhere and than a voice shouted out and said, "HAWKE!"
Hawke was suddenly shocked and jumped (if he could) as the voice shouted his name. He looked at the light for a minute, and then said , "Wh….Um, what are….you?"
The voice replied, "I SIMPLY AM! AND ALWAYS WILL BE."
Hawke then said, "Great riddles, that’s the last thing I need."
"INDEED, NOW LISTEN TO ME CAREFULLY," said the voice.
Hawke looked at the light with awe, amazement, and curiosity.
"YOU SOUL IS NO LONGER OF THIS WORLD OF MAN, BUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOUR DESTINY IS," said the voice.
Now Hawke was back to his first and his favorite impression, confusion.
The voice then continued, "YOU WILL GO TO LAND OF LIFE, LAUGHTER, ADVENTURE, MAGIC, AND WONDERS BEYOND YOUR IMAGINATION, BUT I MUST WARN YOU, IT WILL NOT BE EASY. YOU WILL FACE MONSTER YOU NEVER THOUGHT EXISTED, THOSE WHO ARE CLOSE TO YOU WILL BE ENDANGERED, AND THE FATE OF THIS WORLD WILL BE IN YOUR HANDS. DO YOU THINK YOU ARE READY FOR THIS LIFE I AM ABOUT TO GIVE ON TO YOU?"
Hawke was just dumbstruck by this offer. It was something that nobody in, well, anywhere would ever get a chance to do. But like the voice said it would be dangerous and risky, this was something he needed to think, to be prepared, ask what will happen, and to know if it is worth it. Unfortunately, Hawke didn’t want to think about it, because he was too excited by this and didn’t want to waste any time. he went ahead and said, "Alright, I’ll do it, you can count on me."
"I KNOW, YOU ARE SOMEONE THAT ANYONE CAN DEPEND UPON AND IT IS WHY I CHOSE YOU. PREPARE FOR THE ADVENTURE OF A LIFETIME. MAY YOU BECOME THE GUARDIAN THAT THIS WORLD NEEDS," the voice finished.
Than the white light disappeared and a bright purple light came out of nowhere. It started pulling Hawke into it. As he was through it, he was going faster and faster and faster until he saw a light at the end of it. When he had got to the end of light, everything was suddenly black. Than out of nowhere he heard a voice, a very soft and sweet voice that said…….
Guardian of Equestria-Rise of the Blue Sun Chapter 2 A new beginning part-2
1 hour ago before the first part the prophecy began, Twilight Sparkle, a very talented unicorn with the ability to use magic and is a very faithful student to Princess Celestia, was getting very excited about a book that she had find in an ancient ruins while she was exploring the everfree forest as usual. The book seemed to contain spells and a language not nopony has seen in ages. It also seemed to bear a cross on it with blue flames around it. Unfortunately for Spike, Twilight’s closes friend, a young dragon, and assistant, had a massive headache about Twilight talking about for hours and hours and couldn’t understand a single thing she was. Just when he thought she done reading the book, she suddenly said, "SPIKE!?"
Spike jumped up in the air and yelled, "WHAT IS IT?!"
"I think I finally found a spell that I can actually read. Hmm, it seems to be some kind of summoning spell that can bring a creature from anywhere," she answered.
"So what? Do we really need another living thing around here? I mean you already have Owlowiscious", Spiked said.
Owlowiscious said, "Who"
Spike replied, "You"
"Who," the owl said again.
"You!," Spike replied again.
"Who," the owl once more.
"OH DEAR CELESTIA, I MEAN YOU!!!!!," yelled Spike.
Twilight face palm herself on the head from the annoyance from her assistant.
Spike continued to say, “Sigh” and you still have me around, plus what if you summon something horrible."
"Oh don’t worry about it Spike, I’m sure that nothing bad will happen. According to the book it says that it can summon a creature that is not dangerous and we use the same spell to send it back if we need to," Twilight replied.
"….Well ok I hope you’re right about this," he said.
Twilight then said, "I promise you, nothing bad will happen."
Twilight and Spike than left the library tree to go somewhere outside of Ponyville, but not too far in case they needed help. It took several minutes for Spike to get the spell ready, making chalk circles and putting up symbols, while Twilight was memorizing the spell, because she had to leave the book in the middle for the spell to work.
Now everything was prepared to use the spell. Twilight used her magic to activate the circles and symbols. Spike took a few steps back making sure that he was safe. As the spell was working, Twilight was speaking the language from the book that she was able to understand, but as she was reading the last part of it, suddenly the words from book were lifting off from it and the words were changing, and as she was reading out loud, the last part of the chant said, "I ask you child of man, come up and raise once again?"
Than the book was suddenly turn into a ball of blue flames and started getting bigger and bigger. Twilight took some steps back right next to Spike and watched the blue flames started to take shape. Right in front of Twilight and Spike they saw an actual person take shape in front of them. As the flames died down, the living creature was floating down to the ground until it lay down on the ground and the flames disappeared. As the creature was laying Twilight took a look at it and thought at first it was another, but she know right away that it wasn’t, then she said, "Uh… It doesn’t seem to have many features of a pony, He doesn’t have a cutie mark on its right shoulder, it doesn’t have long ears like us, it doesn’t seem to have tail, no hooves, looks more like a…. more like a monkey’s feet except a bit different, and the skin isn’t a solid color it’s more whitish/pinkish color mixed in together."
"So….if it’s not a pony, then….. What exactly is it?," Spike asked.
Twilight looked over at Spike for a second and than decided to see if she can talk to….whatever it was. She then said,"Hello?"
The creature started waking up and then opens its eyes up, looking straight in front of it at Twilight and did what any natural creature would do. Hawke screamed at the top of his lungs in terror, then Twilight was screaming in terror, and finally spike was screaming in terror as well. When they stopped screaming, Hawke asked,"WHO ARE YOU?"
Twilight then asked, "WHO ARE YOU!?"
"OH GOD YOU CAN TALK?!", he replied.
Twilight answered, "YES I CAN TALK, SO CAN YOU!?!"
"IN ENGLISH?!?," he asked.
"WHAT’S ENGLISH??? I TALK IN EQUESTREN!!," she replied.
Hawke then asked, "WHAT’S EQUESTRAN???"
"I GUESS IT WOULD BE ENGLISH FOR YOU!," She answered and asked, "AND WHY ARE WE STILL YELLING?"
"I DON’T KNOW AT FIRST I WAS SCARED BUT NOW IT SEEMED LIKED FUN TO ME!!!," he answered.
Twilight was a bit annoyed by the comment the creature made. She took a minute to cool down and said, “Sigh”, alright, would you please stop yelling and at least tell me your name."
"My name is Hawke Gregory," he said and asked, "May I ask what both of your names are and what exactly you two are?"
"I am Twilight Sparkle and I am a unicorn," she answered.
In Hawke’s mind, "I know it, I so called it."
"And you can call me Spike and a dragon", Spike repiled.
Another thought came to Hawke’s mind, "Ok, that’s cool; he looks like some kind of human/reptile mix together…..why is he small?"
"Um, what exactly are you if don’t mind me asking?," Twilight asked.
"I’m basically what you would call human," he answered.
"A Human?", both Twilight and Spike said at the same time.
"Yeah, Humans are basically that look like me except that we have different personalities, some have skins like some are brown, some are tan, and other would be white like me. We don’t have tails or horns, but we can speak in many language. As far as I know we’re the only beings on our world that can talk and think," he finished.
Twilight looked at him with curiosity and confusion, but decided to saved that for another time and asked,"Can I ask you how you got here?"
Hawke then said, "Well, that’s a bit funny, because one minute I was in my world, the next I died, and then out of nowhere a bright light came and started talking to me telling me that I was destined for a life of excitement and adventure, so I took the offer without thinking because, well, I was dead, so the voice disappeared, then I was heading for another light that was purple, and then I was woken up screaming, I met you and Spike and you were asking me all sorts of questions while I’m sitting still confuse of where I am," he waited a few seconds and asked, "by the way can tell me where I am?"
Twilight and Spike looked at him with an enormous confusion on their face trying to figure what he just said.
"Uuummmmm………You’re in Equestria, the land of everypony kind in existence," she answered and asked, "What was that part about you being dead?"
"Oh yes I got killed by a car while getting milk, most embarrassing way to die now that I think about," he replied.
"What’s a car?," she asked.
Hawke then answered, "It’s like a metal box with wheels that can take you to long distances."
"Oh….Ok then," she said with some confusion.
Spike then whispers, "I think he is completely insane."
Twilight gave Spike a look.
"What?", he asked.
Twilight looked back at Hawke and asked, "If you would like I can take you back to ponyville and we can talk more there."
"Sure thing I don’t mind," he answered
As everyone was standing up, Hawke looked at Twilight for a minute and started walking towards her, then out of nowhere he started poking at her horn with great curiosity. Twilight at first was confused, and then she was starting to be annoyed by him, while his was poking at it and Spike was covering his mouth, while snickering. Twilight sighed, grabbed his arm, and asked, "Would you please stop doing that?"
Hawke giggled and said, "Sorry, I was curious to see if it was real."
Twilight sighed and said, "Let’s just go."
"By the way, why is your skin purple and Spike’s green?," he asked.
Twilight sighed once again and said, "I’ll explain when we get there."
"Ok," Hawke answered and while they were walking, he then asked, "are we there yet?"
While the group was heading for ponyville, in another part of Equstria, within the lands of the Shadow mountains. A group of disciples chant their spells into a pool of black water and began to resurrect their master from his long slumber. As the chants were getting louder the pool started turning red and soon A figure started coming out of it. It climbed out of the waters. The creature was a centaur with its body black, its torso red as blood, its long dark hair on its head, and sharp reptile like eyes. The Centaur started shouted and said, "I AM LORD TIREK, I HAVE RETURN TO LIVING AND NOTHING WILL STOP ME NOT EVEN THE RAINBOW OF LIGHT WILL."
Guardian of Equestria-Rise of the Blue Sun Chapter 3 A new beginning part-3
In the mysterious lands of the Shadow Mountains, the dark Lord Tirek laughs at his triumphant return among the living and prepares himself for what is to come next. One of the disciples that resurrected him step forward and said, "My Lord Tirek, is good to see you alive and more powerful than ever, I am Monnark, a former royal scholar for Princess Celestia, and your ever humble servant."
Tirek replied, "Monnark, it is good to see that there are those who still recognize my power, but pre-tell who is this Princess Celestia of whom you speak of?"
Monnark then explained, "She is currently the one of the three Alicorns and the main ruler of Equestria. The others of course are Princess Luna and Princess Cadence."
Tirek ponder on this and said, "hmmm…..tell me how much has changed since I was last here."
"Of course Master, but first there is something I must mention, are you aware of the prophecy of the blue sun and red moon?," Monnark asked.
"Yes, I am aware and I already have plans to deal with it," Tirek replied.
Tirek raised his hands and started using boulders and rocks to make a shape of some kind creature. Than when he was finished, the creature took form and was a rock golem, with red eyes and glowing red markings all over its body.
Tirek then said, "Now my golem of hate and anger, go, and destroy who ever is the blue sun."
"No need to fear my Lord, for I believe you will not have to search far," Monnark said.
Monnark was holding an orb in his hands and it showed Hawke at Twilight’s house.
"It seems he’s in Ponyville, at the library, I’m sure you’ll have no problem getting there," he remarked.
The golem started moving and was heading for Ponyville, while the dark centaur was smiling with delight of what was to come next.
While in Ponyville, most of everypony was surrounding Twilight’s house wondering who was this strange creature that came into town and were worried if he was a threat or not. In the house, Twilight was walking back and forth angrily, while trying to figure out what to do next. Hawke and Spike were playing cards and were waiting on Twilight on what to do should next. Hawke was getting bored at beating Spike at cards so he decided to ask Twilight and said, "Hey…um, what exactly are we doing?"
Twilight looked at him angrily and said, "Well, I’m trying to think of a way to explain to everypony here, after you SHOUTED OUT THAT YOU WERE A HUMAN AND WERE WAVING AT EVERYPONY WHILE THEY WERE FREAKING!"
Hawke took a minute to think and said,"I don’t see how that could have been avoided."
Twilight smacked herself on the face after she heard that and was beginning to wonder that she might have one of the most unbelievably idiotic creature in the whole universe.
"Oh, I really hope Princess Celestia reads my letter soon," Twilight said to herself.
Then all of a sudden the Library’s door opened and came in the other 5 bearers of the element of harmony. Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Fluttershy, and Rarity came in to see this creature of which everyone was so worried about.
Applejack sadi, "Hey there Twi, we were wondering what you were doing."
"I see you’ve been busy with a guest, want us to leave you two alone?," Rainbow Dash said with a smirk.
Twilight and Hawke were suddenly red and it became even more awkward since Markus came to Equestria. Twilight quickly changed the subject and said, "So, umm…… everypony, I want you to meet Hawke and he is from another world."
Hawke said, "Nice to meet you all and I’m going to guess that you’re all friends of Twilight?"
Applejack replied, "Why yes we are partner, names Applejack and don’t worry about the ponies in town, we told them that we would check you out and see if you’re dangerous or not."
"Ah, glad to see everyone still thinks I’m dangerous even though all I did was say hi and everyone started running," he commented.
Twilight then replied angrily, "You were yelling at everypony’s ears off and were telling them you were an alien from outer space."
Hawke thought for a moment again and said, "I still think that’s unavoidable."
Twilight sigh and said, "Let me introduce the rest of the gang, this is Rainbow Dash."
"That’s me and I’m no doubt the best flyer in Equestria," Rainbow Dash said proudly
Hawke though to himself, "Well, someone thinks of herself too big."
Twilight continued, "This is Rarity."
"I pleasure to meet you, Mr….um what was your last name?," Rarity asked.
"Gregory," he answered.
"Ah yes, a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Gregory," she finished
Hawke thought again to himself, "Wow, a lady like unicorn. So far I thought they were all easily annoyed and get angry really quick."
Twilight continued on, "This is Fluttershy."
Fluttershy said quietly, "Um hello, it’s….um ….nice…t-to…meet you…um."
Hawke thought once more to himself, "Ok I really didn’t hear that, but she looks to be too shy, so I’ll just let it go."
Twilight then said, "And last this is….."
Pinkie Pie went up close to Hawke's face and said, "HI THERE, MY NAME IS PINKE PIE, ITS REALLY NICE TO MEET YOU, DO YOU WANNA BE FRIENDS? ARE YOU REALLY AN ALIEN FROM OUTER SPACE? ARE YOU GOING TO EAT OUR BRAINS? DO YOU LIKE PARTIES AND CAKES?"
Hawke then replied, "Um….Sure, not really, ew, why would I eat brains? And no I don’t like parties and cakes…….I love them."
Pinkie Pie smiled and said, "OOOOOOOO, we’re going to be the best of friends, EVER!!!"
Hawke thought one last time to himself and said, "Awesome, I bet it’s going to be a blast with her."
Twilight then asked, "That is everyone, do you have any question?"
Hawke was looking at them with freighting look and said, "Umm…Yeah, who is the big rocky guy?"
Everyone looked at the window behind them, then all of a sudden (BAM) the entire wall of the Library was smashed open and a stone hand grabbed Hawke. Hawke gave out a grunting pain, while the hand was squeezing him. He looked up the thing that grabbed and saw that it was some kind of rock monster. Before he had a chance to do anything, the monster threw him into a house and was unconscious. The others got up and went to face monster, but before they can do anything, the monster saw three little girls nearby and grabbed one of them. The one it picked up was a girl with pure white skin, a small horn, and two shades of purple in her hair and yelled, "HELP! SOMEONE HELP ME!!!!"
"SWEETIE BELLE! NO!! YOU PUT HER DOWN NOW!!!," Rarity yelled.
Hawke got back up from the floor, walk towards the hole in the wall, and saw that the monster had a kid in its hands and feared of what would happen. Suddenly out of nowhere a surge of power was coming out of his hands, before he know it he shot a ball of blue energy out of his hands, right at the face of the monster. When the ball hit it, it started stumbling back and dropped Sweetie Belle. As Twilight was about to catch her with her magic suddenly Sweetie Belle was caught with a blue aura around her and was floating towards Hawke. He grabbed her when she was close enough and asked, "Are you alright?"
Sweetie Belle answered, "YES, THANK YOU, YOU’RE MY HERO!"
Rarity ran up to Sweetie Belle and grabbed her from Hawke's arm and said, "OH SWEETIE BELLE, THANK CELESTIA THAT YOU’RE OK. THANK YOU HAWKE FOR PROTECTING MY SISTER."
Hawke replied, "It was no problem."
Than everyone’s attention was back to the monster as it was about to charge right for everyone, but Hawke run right towards it and he gathered whatever he was using before. Only this time he concentrated all of it in his right arm, jumped high in the air, and smashed his hand against the monster’s face. A high explosion happened upon impact and blew the Monster’s face off and sent Hawke back into the same the house monster threw him at earlier again. As soon as the the dust was cleared everypony came outside to check to see if the monster was dead. After a couple of minutes of the rock not moving everyone was cheering for its defeat.
One pony said, "OH YEAH! THAT ROCK THING WENT DOWN HARD!"
Another pony said, "WOOHOO! LOOKS LIKE WE GOT A NEW HERO!"
Then another pony said, "THREE CHEERS FOR OUR HERO!"
As everypony was cheering for their new hero, the mane 6 and Spike checked to see if Hawke was ok. But it looked like he was out cooled for good and his right arm was burning red, like as if it was on fire. They checked to see if he was still breathing. He was still breathing and it didn’t seem like nothing else was wrong. Twilight looked at Hawke’s face and said, "Hawke! Are you alright?"
Hawke opened his barely and said, "Never felt better in my whole life."
Then everything went black for Hawke. A couple of seconds passed for him and started to realize certain things around him. It felt like he was in a bed and thought he was in a hospital, since last time he remembered he was in intense pain. As he was opening his eyes he saw someone in a white robe with gold accessories around her neck and wrist, she both had a long horn with two wings on her back, and her hair was a very light color of a rainbow on it. He thought he was looking at an angel. Then she started speaking to him and said in a soft voice, "Why, hello there."
"H-hello," he replied.
Princess Celestia then asked, "There is no reason for you to be afraid of me is there?"
"Oh ah, no I’m just a little…speechless," Hawke said, while he was blushing.
"Oh I see (giggles) that does happen to my subjects sometimes. My name is Princess Celestia, and I am one of the three rulers of Equestria. Twilight has told much about you, although she did mention you being a bit childish and making her getting into so much trouble in such a few minutes," she said.
"Yep, that sounds about right," he replied with a smile.
Princess Celestia giggled more after that.
As Hawke was about to get up from his bed he suddenly felt intense pain in his right arm was groaning in pain. Celestia was using her magic to ease the pain and Hawke was able to lay back down relaxing.
"I’m sorry Hawke, but it seems that when you were using the magic that was inside you, you excelled a lot more energy then you should have used and it back fired on you and burnt your arm a bit. Luckily it was a second degree burn and should go away in no time," said the princess.
"Well that’s good to know," Hawke said and asked, "but…..how is it that I can use magic?"
"Does your race ever use magic before?," she asked
"No never, in fact it was something we could never achieve," he answered.
Celestia turn her head away from Hawke for a moment and thought about, and then when she was done she looked back at him with a smile and said, "I believe it is because that after you had died in your world, you were in a way reborn into this world with the ability to use magic and was able to gain your cutie mark."
"What? How did you know about me dying?," he asked nervously
"Twilight told me about it and I am sorry that had happened to you," the princess answered.
Hawke then said, "It’s ok; I really didn’t have that much going for and……wait? Cutie Mark?"
"Yes, the one on your left shoulder," she replied and point at the mark.
Hawke looked over at his left shoulder and saw a symbol. it was a white four-pointed star in the middle with aqua colored points in each corner of it and a huge blue circle all around it.
Hawke was looking at with amazement and was wondering what it meant. He also wonder why it was called a cutie mark, that part was just bothering him a bit. He then asked, "Hey umm, Princess, why is it called a cutie mark?"
Celestia said, "Well we have always called it a cutie for a long time and its name was never changed from it." Then she asked, "Why? Does the name bother you?"
"Well, to be truthful, yes it does, I’m more of a manly time about some of these things," he said.
Hawke was thinking about what else it could be called and then he remembered what everypony in town was calling him a hero after defeating the rock monster. So he thought of a perfect name for it and said, "You know what? I think I’ll call this a Hero’s Mark."
Celestia giggled and said, "I think that would be a fitting name, for someone who is perfect for the prophecy."
Hawke then said, "Yep I’m really am good at these kinds of names…..wait? Prophecy?"
Back at the lair of Lord Tirek and his disciples, Monnark reports to his master with great fear and disappointment, "My lord, I fear that the beast that you have sent has been destroyed by the blue sun."
"Hmmm…It matters not, the golem was just a taste of things to come and there still time to prepare for the red moon. Prepare some of your disciples, for they are about to be awarded for their loyalty towards me," Tirek said with an evil smile.
Monnark smiled wickedly and said, "Of course master, with pleasure."
Guardian of Equestria-Rise of the Blue Sun Chapter 4 A new life in Ponyville
A week has passed since Hawke defeated the rock golem and became the town of Ponyville’s new hero. While the town’s people were busy fixing some of the buildings that were destroyed by the golem, Hawke has been in hospital resting after the battle and his right arm had burnt, because of the overuse of his magic. He has been laying down on his bed thinking about what Princess Celestia had told him about the prophecy and that he was the savior of their world and he had to defeat a dark force that is to descend on Equestria on the day of the red moon. All that he could think of right now was, “Oh God! Oh God! Oh God! How did this happen? First I came into a world that is populated by human like ponies, then I get attacked by a giant rock monster that came out of nowhere and found out that I have powers, and then I’m told that I am the single most important person, because of a prophecy that says that I would be the only one to save it from a evil villain that would cover the lands into an eternal abyss if I don’t stop it……….I think I asked more then I had bargained for.”
While Hawke was still thinking about the news, Twilight and her friends came in to visit him and she asked, “Hey there Hawke, how are you doing?”
“I’m doing pretty well, the arm is doing better and the burn marks are about gone,” he replied
“Oh! That’s wonderful news,” Fluttershy said.
Rainbow Dash then added, “Well, of course he would after what he did to that rock monster. That was just awesome.”
“It sure was Dash, so got any ideas of when they might let you out Hawke?” Applejack asked.
“They say if everything goes well today, they might let me out of the hospital today,” Hawke replied.
Then Pinkie Pie yelled, “WOOHOO! ALRIGHT! WE CAN FINALLY GIVE YOU A WELCOME PARTY AND A HERO’S PARTY AS WELL.”
“Oh right! I forgot that you guys said that you were getting a party ready for me,” Hawke said.
“It’s ok; after all I don’t blame you for forgetting it after lying in bed for almost a week of doing absolutely nothing,” Pinkie Pie replied.
“Yeah thanks,” Hawke said and asked, “by the way, where is Spike and Rarity?”
“Well Spike is back in the library getting everything ready for the party, while Rarity said she was making something special for you,” Twilight answered.
“Cool, do you know what she is making?” Hawke asked.
Applejack then answered, “I don’t know, but knowing Rarity it’s probably something fancy and amazing.”
“Wow! ......Oh yeah one more thing, is Rarity’s sister…um, Sweetie Belle, is she doing ok?” Hawked asked.
“Yes she is doing fine and she wanted us to tell you how much she was thankful for saving her from that rock thing,” Twilight answered.
Hawke was glad to hear that Sweetie Belle was ok and was thankful that all his new friends came to visit him and to throw him a party after he got out of the hospital. Rainbow Dash then said, “Well, you better get out soon if we’re going to have that party tonight.”
“Don’t worry I’ll get out before then,” Hawke replied.
After he said that everyone started leaving one by one, until it was just him and Twilight. Hawke had a feeling that Twilight wanted to talk to him about something. Twilight took a minute to herself and then she said, “Princess Celestia told me that you are the blue sun from the prophecy and that you would face the coming darkness. She, I, and the other girls haven’t told any of the others yet for fear that it might cause a panic, but I want to know, is it true?”
Hawke looked at Twilight with a bit of concern. He thought about what the princess had told him about the prophecy and remembered after hearing about it and tried to climb out the window, even though he couldn’t move at the time. But as the days gone by he decided that he would accept this, since the voice that he heard before coming here told him that he would be their hero against this evil and enjoy the times that he would not be fighting monsters before the day of the red moon. He looked over to Twilight with a smile and said, “The one and only.”
Twilight smiled back at him and gave him a hug, after that she got up and went to leave, but before that she said, “You know, it’s going to be a lot harder for you to annoy me while you’re a hero.”
“Don’t worry about it. I can still found ways to annoy you, while I’m fighting monsters,” Hawke replied.
Twilight giggled and she went out the door. Hawke lay back down on his bed and worried of what was to come next.
Hawke was finally release from the hospital and started walking around town trying to found his way Twilight’s place. As he was walking he notice the town’s people started waving and cheering at him as they were walking by. He also notice there were someponys that were nervous and were being cautious around him, of course he know that he was a complete stranger that was different from the rest and he had magical powers that no one else has ever seen before, that and the fact that he scared some of them for fun when he first came here with Twilight and Spike. Nevertheless he decided that it was best not to scare them anymore since he now had powers and that would give them a good reason to start an angry mob. As time went by and after some site seeing he finally made it to Twililght’s place and was excited to see his welcome party, but as he was going in it seemed to be just like it was when he first came. He saw Spike carrying some books and asked, “Hey there Spike. What are you doing?”
Spike then answered, “Hey there Hawke, Twilight told me that you would come by.”
“Yeah she told me they were having a welcome a party for me, but it doesn’t seem much of a party with only two people here, with no party decorations, and a cake,” Hawk said.
“Actually they told me to tie this blindfold on you and take you somewhere else for the party,” Spike added.
Hawke looked at Spike with a confused look and was wondering why he needed to have a blindfold on, but at this point of his life there wasn’t that much surprise left for him in his life so he decided to put on the blindfold and let Spike lead on.
After several minutes of letting Spike lead him to where ever they are, Hawke felt a bit nervous and asked, “Um…..Spike, are we there yet?”
Spike replied, “Don’t worry we’re almost there”
Finally they both stopped and Spike began untying Hawke’s blindfold. After Spike was done, Hawke opened his eyes wide and saw a house with his friends and many other ponies in front of it with a huge cake and they all yelled at the same time, “Everypony: SURPRISE!”
“SURPRISE!!! Oh shoot I messed up,” Pinkie said after she came out of hiding last.
Everyone laughed and Hawke said, “Wow guys this is amazing, by the way whose house is that?”
“Why it’s you house silly,” Pinkie replied.
Hawke was surprise to hear that this was his house. His new home was like anyother house that he seen in Ponyville , it was two stories high, and it was near a forest, while it was still near Ponyville in plane site. As he was soaking in the moment, the mayor of Ponyville came up to him and said, “As mayor of Ponyville, I am happy to give this house for saving us from that monster a week ago and would like to give you the title of “Hero of Ponyville.”
Hawke then said, “Thank you mayor, I humbly accept your title.”
As soon as everyone was done congratulating him, Pinkie Pie came out of nowhere and said, “ALL RIGHT EVERYPONY LETS PARRRRRTAAY!”
As soon as she said that, loud music started coming up and everypony was dancing, including Hawke. As they were partying a disco ball came from the top after Rainbow Dash tied it to a tree branch and started showing off her moves, Applejack was making sure that she plenty of apple ciders for everypony, Twilight and Fluttershy were dancing together with Hawke, Spike was dancing along with Rarity, and Pinkie Pie was DJing with Vinyl.
A couple of hours had passed, it was getting dark and everypony was getting tired. They started leaving in groups and pairs, until it was just the Hawke and the gang. He then said, “Wow Pinkie, you really do know how to throw a party.”
Pinkie replied, “Ah shucks it was nothing; just wait until I throw you your birthday party, it’s going to be wild.”
“Can’t wait for it,” Hawke said eagerly.
After that, Rarity was getting everyone’s attention and said, “Hawke after what you did for my sister and me, I wanted to give this. I thought it would be the perfect gift for you.”
Rarity gave Hawke a wrapped box and he started opening it. After he was done, he looked at it and saw that it was a complete outfit that looked like it was for a mage. The outfit was a long blue coat that had the mark of his symbol on both sides of the shoulder and on the back of it. It also came with a light blue shirt, dark blue pants, black boots, and a belt. Hawke was amazed at it and he couldn’t help but hug Rarity with all his strength, which unfortunately for Rarity, he was hugging her so tight she couldn’t breathe.
After that everyone started heading back to their homes. Twilight was the last one with Hawke and she gave him a hug and said, “That was fun.”
Hawke replied, “Yeah it was.”
Twilight then asked, “Are you going to be ok?”
“Yeah, don’t worry, this was what I needed,” he answered.
Twilight smiled and started heading home. Hawke turn around to look at his new home. He couldn’t believe it, he came to a world filled with human like ponies, fought a giant rock monster, and is now a hero of a prophecy that requires him to fight against an evil villain trying to take over the world. All that he could think of now was, “You know what? This is the life I want.”
Guardian of Equestria-Rise of the Blue Sun Chapter 5 First Day of Magic School
At the new home of Ponyville’s new hero, Hawke is sleeping peacefully. As he was sleeping, Twilight came in the front door carrying some books with her magic and laid them down on the living room table. She went up stairs to found Hawke and saw him still sleeping. She got a bit annoyed by this and went to say, “Hawke you need to wake up.”
Hawke opened his eyes slightly towards Twilight and said, “Good morning Twi, why are you waking me up? It’s too early.”
Twilight then replied, “Hawke …it’s 11 in the morning.”
“Like I said, too early,” he commented
Twilight sighed and Hawke went back to sleep. Twilight used her magic to remove the sheets from him and pulled him off the bed, which cause him to fall. After Hawke fell, he know it was no use to resist against Twilight and her magic, so he decided to get up and ask, “Gees Twilight, What so important for you to pull me out of bed?”
“One was to make sure you get of bed more early in the morning, so you would be more active. And two, Princess Celestia asked me to start teaching you,” Twilight answered
Hawke then said, “But why? You already read all those books you gave me at the hospital about the history of Equestria and read them all to me.”
“No, I’m not teaching you about history. I’m teaching you about magic and how to use it properly, so that way you can defend yourself well against other kinds of monsters,” she said and added, “so please for the LOVE OF CELESTIA PUTS SOME PANTS ON!”
After hearing that, Hawke looked down and realized that he was just wearing a shirt and his boxer on and tried covering himself with his hands and said, “Ok, this wouldn’t have happened, if you had left me to sleep in peace.”
Twilight turned red and angrily left his room, waiting outside for him to change. Hawke than started putting on the outfit that Rarity had made for him. When he was done, he check in the mirror how he was and was impress by the design that Rarity put together. The suit truly made Hawke look like an actual hero. He then stepped out of his room and saw Twilight waiting on him. They both went down stairs, Twilight grabbed her books with her magic, and they both went out through the front door.
Time had pass as the two went to an open field that seemed to look like a training ground that was for someone trying to use magic. Spike was busy setting up the last of the practice dummies that there. He turned around and saw Hawke and Twilight coming towards him. As they were walking, Spike shouted out and said, “Hey Twilight, I got the last dummy ready to go.”
“Alright Spike, good work,” Twilight complimented
Then Spike said, “Hey there Hawke, how’s it hanging?”
“Doing good, except the part that Twilight pulled me out of bed and saw me half naked,” Hawk said
Twilight face turned red and Spike busted out laughing. Twilight quickly turned toward Hawke with an angry face and said, “HAWKE!?”
Hawke then commented, “What? You did.”
Twilight groaned, tried to cool off, and then she said, “Alright Hawke, this course is to help see how you physically good you are, and see if you can use your magic at will.”
“Is that it? No problem,” Hawke replied.
she then continued, “Now remember, you need to let the magic flow through you. It may take time to learn how to use them, but with practice you’ll know how to use them.”
“Ok,” he replied
“Just to let you know, none of the weapons are lethal and if there is course you can’t do, just skip it, ok?” she finished.
“Alright, I’m ready to do this,” he said eagerly.
Hawke got ready at the starting point. Twilight and Spike were watching him and had a first aid kit in case anything went wrong. As Twilight said go, Hawke started dashing towards the course.
Sometime had passed and Hawke was in a lot of pain. Twilight was healing him with her magic, while Spike was fixing some of the course. When Twilight was done with some of the healing, she asked, "Hawke, why didn't you skip some of course like I suggested, instead of still running through them?"
"I wanted to see if I can still I can make all the courses through in one shoot," Hawke said.
"Hawke, your leg got hurt from the logs that rolled down towards you, then you tried to jump a large pit with a hurt leg, then you tried to swing across a river on a rope that wasn't tied to the tree yet, because you was still dizzy from the fall you took in the pit, and then you were too exhausted to do anything while the dummies were shooting tomato-tipped arrows at you, after that we had to stop you before you even tried to go through the ring of fire."
"I'm pretty sure I would have made it through the ring of fire if I'd timed my jump correctly," Hawke replied.
Twilight groaned and said, "Why didn't you try to use your magic? It seemed like you can do it just as easily like last time."
"Well....it's because last time it was just dumb luck I guess, but I'm more afraid that I won't be able to control it and I might hurt someone," Hawke replied.
Twilight was surprised to hear that answer. Normally a unicorn who had magic would normally use it on a daily basis and would have no problem with it. But when Twilight looks at Hawke, he was just a confuse colt who didn't know what to do and was more afraid of hurting somepony if he tried anything with his magic. Twilight laid next to him and said, " Hawke, I promise you, you won't hurt anypony while I'm around. I'll help you learn magic step by step, ok?"
"....Alright, I trust you and I'll try to use my magic more often," Hawke replied.
As they were looking into each other’s eyes, Spike suddenly shouted and said, “TIMBERWOLVES!”
The group looked at the woods and saw a pack of three Timberwolves. Hawke couldn’t believe at what he was looking at, it was giant wolves that were literally made woods. As they prepared themselves for a fight for their lives, the Timberwolves began to charge right at them. Twilight fired two small balls of purple energy and Spike breathed out fire from his mouth. The Timberwolves went down one by one except the last that dodge Twilight enegy ball and head straight towards Hawke. Hawke was caught off guard wasn’t sure what to do next. As the wolf was about to be on top of him, he all of a sudden, he then summoned a force field around them and stopped the wolf’s attack. As soon as it stumbled, Hawke lowered the shield and Twilight used her energy ball again, this time it hit it dead on. It exploded into pieces and Hawke felt relived. Then all of sudden Twilight said, “We better get out of here, Timberwolves can put themselves together. They may even become a mega Timber wolf if we give them time.”
“Well than after you,” Hawke said.
After sometime they made it back to Twilight's house, Spike decided to head to bed early and went to his room. Twilight was having tea, while Hawke were just having hot chocolate. Twilight went ahead and said, "Hawke i'm proud that you were able to use that force field against that Timber wolf."
"Thank you, it was the only think of at the time," Hawke replied.
"Well still it was good, next time I'll teach you how to use more magic techniques like how to use a fireball and to use a energy spear, their a bit advance, but I think you can handle it," she said.
"Ok that sounds like fun, can't wait," Hawke replied
It was getting late and Hawke decided to head back to his place. He said his goodbye to Twilight and went home. On the way to his place, a thought had occurred to him. He realized that since he was going to be living here for longtime, he would need food, clothes, supplies, and anything he might need or want. For that to happen, he would need money, and to get money, he then thought to himself, “Oh Crap! I need a job.”
Guardian of Equestria-Rise of the Blue Sun Chapter 6 Live to Earn/Earn to Live
A new day had come upon Ponyville and our hero has once again found himself in a tight spot, after what he had realized what he had to do.
He had to found a job.
Upon discovering this, Hawke has been to Twilight’s home to see if she can help in anyway. Lucky for him, she did. She told Hawke that Applejack was more than willing to let him work for her at the farm at Sweet Apple Acres. He went to found Applejack and sure enough, she was willing to hire.
Applejack said, “I’m glad that you decided to work at the farm with us, there’s always so many things to do around here and we have so little hands to do them.”
“It’s no problem Applejack, I’m glad to be working with you too,” Hawke replied.
Applejack then said, “Now I warn you. It’s not going to be a picnic. It’s real hard work and there’s going to be a lot of sweat. You think you can handle it.”
Hawke then replied, “Don’t worry about me Applejack. I’m a Texan and most Texas people know the value of a good hard day’s work.”
“That’s good to hear…….by the way, what’s a Texan?” Applejack asked.
“We’re best described mostly as cowboys,” Hawke answered.
“Well shacks, Texas are my kind of place,” she replied.
“I thought you would like that,” he commented
“Does that make you a cowboy too?” she asked.
“Well, not really, I mostly live in the city side of Texas, but on mom side of the family, their mostly country folk there. I visit them from time to time,” he answered.
Applejack then said, “Well, after I’m done with you, you’re going to feel like a cowboy.”
“That I would like see,” he remarked
As Applejack and Hawke were walking, they saw Sweet Apple Acres in plain view. Hawke was surprise to be on such a large farm. He had seen large farms in his world, but he never was on them before. The land was covered in nothing but apples. He was able to see a large building that was both a home and a barn to the Apple family. As Markus was looking around he saw three other ponies that were there. They approached them and Applejack said, “Well, it’s time for you to meet my Family. This is Granny Smith.”
Granny Smith was in her rocking chair sleeping and didn’t hear what Applejack said.
“Um….ah….Granny?” Applejack said to Granny as she was trying to wake her up.
“WHAT? WHO? Oh hey there Applejack, when did you get back?” Granny asked.
Applejack answered, “Just got back, I wanted you to meet Hawke, his going to help us around here.”
“Oh really? Let me look at him,” Granny replied
Granny Smith was walking towards Hawke. She was looking at him with a serious look. She grabbed him and tries listening to his heart, and then she checked out his arms, after that she pulled out a magnifying glass and used it to check out his ears. When she was done she said, “Well he checked out and ready to work and quite handsome too if I do say so myself.”
“Awww, your making me blush,” Hawke said playfully
Everyone laughed for a minute and Applejack got back introducing the family.
Applejack said, “Next is Big McIntosh, my brother and we also call him Big Mac.”
Big Mac then said, “Eeeyup”
“Nice to meet you”, Hawke greeted.
“Same to you,” Big Mac replied
Applejack then continued, “And this little filly here is my sister, Applebloom.”
“Hey there little lady,” Hawke said.
“Well tar nations, I remember you, you’re the one that saved my friend Sweet Belle from that rock monster,” Applebloom said.
“Yes I was, in fact, now that I think about it, I remember seeing you there as well,” he replied.
“Wow! Oh, I also heard that you got your cutie mark after that night. Is it true?” she asked.
“Well, I prefer to call it a hero’s mark, but yes I did,” he answered
“Cool, can I see it? Please!!!!,” she asked excitedly.
“Alright sure,” he replied.
Hawke removed his coat, lifted his left should, and showed Applebloom his mark. Applebloom looked at it and was amazed by the way it looked.
“You’re so lucky; I wish I had my cutie mark,” Applebloom said.
“I’m sure if you give it time it’ll come,” Hawk said
“I guess,” she said with an impatient look.
Applejack then said, “Alright there little sis, time to let Hawke get to work. Are you Hawke?”
“Ready as I’ll ever be,” he replied.
“All righty then, let’s get to work,” she said.
Everyone went there ways and got ready to work. Granny Smith was just sitting on her rocking chair knitting, while Big Mac was carrying a cart full of apples towards town, and Applebloom was helping getting the animals all the food they need. Applejack and Hawke headed for the apple trees and were sitting up buckets for the apples. Applejack turned to Hawke and said, “All righty then partner, all you have to do is buck this apples down from the trees and pick up any apple that don’t go into the buckets any questions?”
“Doesn’t it make more scenes to pick the apples from the trees, then bucking them down?” Hawke asked
“Well yeah, but that takes time and its lot easier to buck them down,” Applejack answered.
Hawke then said, “And another thing, the trees are very hard and I doubt that you actually buck them down. I’m beginning to think you’re tricking me.”
“Oooooh Really?” she replied
As Hawke was watching, Applejack kicked the tree hard and all the apples came falling down. Hawke felt completely dumb after what he had seen. Applejack was smiling and Hawke was lost for words. Then he thought that if Applejack can do it, so can he. He got himself ready to kick a tree with apples on it. He then kicked the tree with everything he got and apples came coming down. He couldn’t believe what had happened; he actually kicked a tree and brought the apples down. Applejack crept right behind him and said, “I thought you said it was impossible?”
“Maybe in my world or we just never thought of it before,” Hawke replied while he was still scratching his head with what happened.
“Wow! Seem like we ponies are doing something that your guys never thought of,” Applejack commented
“Yeah looks like it,” he replied
“By the way you mentioned your family before, what are they like?” she asked.
“Well like I said my mom side of the family is country folk and on my dad side are mostly city folk,” he said.
“What about your parents?” she asked.
Hawke’s smile went away quickly; the mentioned of his parents gave him a sad look. Applejack felt like she said something that she shouldn’t have. Hawke noticed and got back his composure, looked back at Applejack and said, “I ……. never had a chance to know them.”
Applejack then said, “I’m sorry to hear that.”
“It’s ok, you didn’t know. From what I can tell though, they were good people,” he replied
Applejack felt sorry that she mentioned Hawke’s parents and felt like that she gave him some bad memories.
As the day was near its end, Applejack and Hawke collected all the buckets of apples they had and put them up for store for when Big Mac takes them to town. After everything was packed up and put away, Applebloom, Granny Smith, and Big Mac went in the house, while Applejack was giving Hawke his first payment.
Applejack said, “Here you go partner, 21 bits and that’s just doing work for 7 hours. Try coming here every 8 o’clock every weekday morning and you’ll be getting 150 bits a week. Not a bad deal if I say so myself.”
“Thanks Applejack I really appreciated it,” Hawke replied
As Hawke was about to leave, Applejack stopped him and said, “Wait!”
“Yeah?” Hawke said as he was turning back towards her.
Applejack said, “I wanted to say that I’m sorry about mentioning you about your parents, if I had known…..”
“Applejack, Its ok, you didn’t know. I’m the one who didn’t mention it at all, if anyone had to say sorry, it was me. I’m sorry,” Hawke said.
Applejack then said, “Well …. That’s very sweet of you Hawke, but you don’t have to apologies to me and I know away to make it up to you.”
“Like what?” he asked.
“I’ll tell you my secret,” she said.
She walked up to Hawke and gave him a hug. She then said to him, “I know that it’s hard to lose your parents, but if you ever need to talk about it, you can come to me or any of the other girls to help you out.”
Hawke smiled at her and hugged her back and said, “I really appreciate that.”
Back in the land of Shadows Lord Tirek and Monnark prepare for their phase of their plan.
“Are the newly born disciples ready for battle?” Tirek asked
“Yes my master, they are ready give them the orders and they will obey,” Monnark answered.
Tirek then said, “Excellent, bring them in.”
Monnark called for the former disciples. As one by one came in, each was deadlier than the next. Some were insect-like creatures, others were made from extinct parts from long forgotten creatures, and the other were simply abominations.
“Good, good,” Tirek said with amusement
Tirek looked over at the magical orb and said, “Rest now hero, soon you, Equestria, and the whole world will FALLLLLL!”
Guardian of Equestria-Rise of the Blue Sun Chapter 7 Listening to One's Heart
It was like any other day in Ponyville. Everypony was enjoying their day, playing games, walking around, shopping, and talking to one another. But then all of a sudden….
“BAM”
“BOOM”
“EVERYPONY RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!!”
“WHAT IS THAT THING?”
“LOOK OVER THERE! THERE’S ANOTHER ONE!”
Two insect-like creatures started attacking the town. One of them was a large scorpion that stood on two legs, had four claws, two stingers, and two red eyes. The other creature was a beetle that was a lot bulkier then the other. It had a large horn on its head and it had green eyes. They both crushed everything that was in there way and everypony ran for their lives.
Over at Sweet Apple Acres, Hawke and Applejack were in the middle of bucking down apples from the trees when suddenly they Rainbow Dash coming straight towards. Dash was speeding as fast as she could, but when she was about to get them she couldn’t slow down and crashed right into them. After a minute of everyone getting up and recovering from the crash Applejack asked, “WHAT IN TARNATION HAD GOT INTO YOU DASH?”
“THERE’S NO TIME TO EXPLAIN! THE TOWN IS UNDER ATTACK,” Rainbow Dash quickly replied.
Applejack and Hawke were shocked to hear this…..
“WHAT!? BY WHAT?” Applejack asked.
“THEIR BEING ATTACKED BY TWO MONSTERS THAT LOOKED LIKE GIANT BUGS!” Rainbow Dash answered.
“DID ANYONE GET HURT?” Hawke asked.
“NO, BUT WE BETTER HURRY BEFORE SOMEPONY DOES,” Rainbow Dash replied.
The group started running towards Ponyville. As they were running, they looked at the town where the creatures were. The creatures were causing mayor damages to the homes of the ponies and started throwing objects at them like carts, rocks, and anything they could grab. As the creatures where causing damage, they looked over to where the gang where.
“Ummm….are they looking at us?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“Not us…..me,” Hawke commented.
“What makes you say that?” Applejack asked.
The creatures were in fact looking at Markus and started glowing both red and green with rage…..
Hawke then said, “Ohhh….Just got that feeling”
The creatures stopped their attack on the town started charging towards Markus and gang. All Hawke could say was, “RUN AWAY!”
The group ran as fast as they could with the creatures right behind them. Hawke charged up a small energy ball, turn around, and blast it at the beetle. The ball hit its legs and it fell down. The scorpion got close enough and used its stingers on Hawke. Hawke quickly used a fireball on one stinger, while he used his force field to stop the other. The scorpion’s right stinger was burnt up, but it was still able to fight and tried to use his claws to grab him. As the creature was about to grab Hawke, Rainbow Dash swooped in and grabbed Hawke at the last second.
Hawke then said, “Wow, thanks Dash.”
“It was no problem,” Dash replied.
“Hey, throw me up high,” he said
“You got it,” she replied
Dash threw Hawke high in the air and he started falling down towards the scorpion. As Hawke was falling, he used his magic to make spear made from energy, a trick he learned from Twilight. He landed right on top of the creature and shoved the spear on the head. Hawke jumped from it, safely landed on the ground, and the scorpion fell down on the ground dead. The Beetle got back up and saw what had happen to his comrade. It quickly ran and went into the Everfree Forest.
Dash and Hawke celebrated their defeat over the monster, but Applejack said, “I wouldn’t celebrate yet. That other monster went into the forest and it needs to stopped, before any other pony gets hurt.”
Rainbow Dash then replied, “She’s right, let’s go beat that thing into a pulp.”
“Right, so what’s the plan?” Hawke asked.
“I’ll head over to town and see if any pony needs help. You two go into the forest and see if you can catch that thing,” Applejack said.
“Got it,” Hawke replied.
“You got it,” Dash replied as well.
Dash and Hawke started making their way and entered the forest.
The two entered the Everfree Forest half an hour ago and haven’t found the creature yet. It had been a while since they both talked and Hawke decided to ask, “Soooo, Rainbow, what do you do exactly?”
Rainbow Dash: Well I mostly work up in the air clearing or setting up clouds. I’m also training up to be a Wonderbolts.
“Cool……What are the Wonderbolts?” he asked.
Dash stopped in shock, looked at Hawke, and said, “You’ve been here for three weeks and you know nothing of the Wonderbolts?”
“Nope,” he said.
“They are Equestria’s best flyers in the world. They compete in many sports event and they are the best acrobats. Some even have the honors of serving under Princess Celestia,” she said.
“So basically there like the air force in your world?” He asked
“Yeah pretty much. I always wanted to be in it, ever since I was a little filly,” she said.
“Why?” He asked
Well d’aw, because I AM the best flyer in all of Equestria, she said with confidence.
Hawke rolled his eyes around and wondered that he should have come alone.
“So, I was wondering about something,” Dash said
“About what?” Hawke asked
“What do you think of Twilight?” She asked.
Hawke then said, “Well she is nice, smart, very reliable, and…”
Dash interrupted him and said, “Beautiful”?
Hawke blushed and continued, “Y-yes, I think she is quite…beautiful. What make you say that?
“Oh come on! You know what I’m getting at. You love her don’t you?” she commented
Hawke’s face turned red and his heart was pounding none stop. He quickly said, “I don’t know what you’re talking about. She and I barley know each other and she’s been like a older sister to me.”
“Oh really, well that’s too bad. She told me that you were one handsome guy and she couldn’t bear to stay away from you,” she said.
“Wait…WHAT, REALLY?” Hawke quick asked with excitement. Rainbow Dash: It’s just what?
“No, but you should have seen the expression on your face,” Dash said while she was laughing.
Hawke was shocked and said, “WHAT! No fair you tricked me.”
“Well you should have seen that coming lover boy,” she said while she was still laughing.
When Dash was still laughing from out of nowhere, the beetle charged right at them. Dash flew up and Hawke jumped out the Beetle’s way. Hawke landed on the ground, but slipped on some slime and fell into some mud. He had a hard time getting back up and the beetle was charging at him. Hawke kept on slipping and was unable to move out of the way. Before the beetle was near him, Dash quickly grabbed some vine, tied it around a tree, and as the beetle was near, she pulled the vine in the beetle’s way and it started falling. As it was falling, Hawke quickly used his magic to charge up a larger energy ball and pressed it against the beetle’s stomach. The blast sent the creature away in pieces.
Hawke fell back down on the ground in mud and relaxed for a moment. Dash went and sat next to him and said, “I think Rarity is going to mad that you didn’t keep the outfit clean.”
Hawke then replied, “Well, she shouldn’t give a fancy suit like this if it wasn’t made for a hero who fights monsters as a living.”
Dash was laughing and said, “Yeah that’s true”
They both just laid there for a bit and were breathing hard after the battle. Then Hawke said, “Hey Dash.”
“Yeah?” She replied.
“Do you think I even have a chance with Twilight?” He asked
“So you’re finally admitting on being in love with Twilight?” she asked.
“Ok, I’ll admit that I have feelings for her and that I believe they are in fact good feelings. I’m just not sure if I should follow them or not,” he said.
“Well I’m not sure about love in all, but what is stopping you from telling her or asking her out?” she asked.
“Well, not too long ago, I used to like this girl. She was sweet and nice. At one point I thought that we would be together, but I guess when we started growing up, she started seeing me more of a friend then something more. She broke up with me and that was it. For a while it broke my heart, but I was able to get my live together and moved on,” he said.
Dash looked at Hawke with a sad face. She felt sorry that Hawke’s heart was broken and it sounded like to her that the girl didn’t even try to stay with him. Before she could say anything Hawke continued, “I know Twilight isn’t like that. She the type to know what feelings she has and knows what to do with them. I guess I’m just scare of what she might say or I just don’t know how to her what I feel.”
Dash just didn’t know to say and just sat next Hawke, while they were still in the mud. After recovering, they got back to Ponyville and saw the damage the creatures had done. Luckily no pony was hurt and the damage would quickly be repaired. The town’s people once again thanked their hero for stopping the monsters.
The day was at its end and all of Ponyville was once again safe and sound. Hawke headed back to his home after dropping off his clothes at Rarity’s place to get them repaired. As Hawke was walking he heard Dash calling out to him and she said, “Hey Hawke!”
“Yeah?” He replied.
“Just wanted to say thanks for helping our town out again,” she said.
“It’s no problem and thanks again for helping me out with that beetle,” he replied.
“No problem lover boy,” She said.
Hawke smiled and started walking away until Dash said, “I bet she’ll say yes.”
Hawke then turned around to her and said, “Thanks, I had a feeling she would say that. Just need to figure out how or when I’ll tell her.”
Dash smiled and gave him a hug and he hugged her back. They then went their separate ways and Hawke headed home. As he was walking, he thought to himself and said, “Lord, please tell me what to do next.”
Guardian of Equestria-Rise of the Blue Sun Chapter 8 The Rarest of Love
Hawke was just enjoying his day in Ponyville. He was enjoying his ice cream that he had got from Sugarcube Corner. As he was eating it he notices that the ground was shaking. The entire town’s people stopped to figure out what was happening.
Then all of a sudden a giant worm-like monster came out of the ground. It had no eyes, several arms and legs, and it was quite short. the town’s people started shouting and running from it, all except Hawke. The creature started barrowing again and as it did, it made Hawke stumble a bit. He accidently dropped his ice cream to the ground and said, "HEY! That cost me one bit."
The worm didn’t care and dug its way towards Hawke. He had to think fast, it was obvious that the worm was after him and it could do serious damage to the town if it wasn't stopped. He jumped high up in to the air and came back down with his magic concentrated to his right hand. He smashed his hand to ground and causes a shockwave to occur and trapped the worm underground. He quickly tries to found where the worm is and used his magic to charge up a large energy ball. He threw the ball at the ground, a huge explosion was set off, and the worm was destroyed.
After the worm blew up, the Town’s people came out to cheer for their hero. Mr. and Mrs. Cake came out of the bakery with another scoop of ice cream in their hands and gave it Hawke. Hawke took it, gave his thanks to the Cakes, and went off to wonder off some more.
After Hawke was done eating his ice cream, he decided to go to Rarity’s place to get back his suit after it was messed up after the fight with the insect creatures from a couple of days ago. As he was on his way, he notice Spike was heading for him. The young dragon then said, "Hey Hawke how are you? I just heard you defeated another monster."
"Yo Spike, yeah I did, but it was a lot easier to get rid of instead of the last two," Hawke replied.
"Yeah, but still, it was cool," Spike replied.
"Yeah it was," Hawke said.
"So where are you headed for?" Spike asked.
"I’m going to Rarity’s place to grab my suit," Hawke answered.
"Did you say Rarity’s place? Can I come along?" Spike asked excitedly.
"Well sure, do you want to pick up roses for her too?" Hawke replied with a giggle.
"Well….I….ah…..wait, how did you know about me having a crush on Rarity?" Spike asked while he was shocked.
"Ehhhh….I didn’t," Hawke pointed out.
Spike smacked himself in the face after hearing that.
"So you have a crush on Rarity? Umm…How old are you again?" Hawke asked.
"Love has nothing to do with age……..and I’m 14…..in dragon years," Spike said.
"Right (I hope he realizes that Rarity is 18 and is in a very different class then him.) So you want to head there now," Hawke said.
"Umm, right lets go," Spike said.
Hawke and Spike headed over to Rarity’s place, they went in the front door to see if anyone was in and heard, "I’ll be there in a sec."
They both sat down near some chairs and waited on Rarity. Then she came to see them and said, "Oh! Why hello there Mr. Gregory and hello my little Spikey Wikey."
Rarity gives Spike a hug.
"......……Spikey Wikey?" Hawke said with a whole lot of confusion and shock.
"Why yes, after all he did give me this beautiful fire ruby that you can see around my neck," Rarity said while she firmly put her hand on the ruby.
Hawke looked at the ruby and saw that it was a very beautiful neckless. It had also convinced him that Spike might have a chance with Rarity…….only a little……its very small.
Rarity the said, "Oh! I almost forgot. You’re here for the suit yes?"
"Yes I am, sorry that it got messed up last time," Hawke said.
"Why it’s quite alright. I even decided to make you some more of those suits so you don’t have to worry about it. You can just bring in the damage ones, while you use the others to still look fabulous," she said.
"Thank you, I appreciate it. How much would it cost?" he asked
"Oh no! It’s all on me, after all as a hero you’ll need someone to make the repairs and also it might encourage people to come here more often, if you keep coming here to get your clothes fixed," she said.
"Well, if that’s ok with you, then I would be honored," he said
When the conversation was done she gave Hawke the extra suits and a thought had came to Rarity and she asked, "Why Mr. Gregory, have you heard of the Grand Galloping Gala?"
"Well no, what’s it about it?" he asked.
Rarity then answered, "Why it’s just one of those high class parties that happens once a year, but truth be told it wasn’t as good as last year."
"Why? What happen?," he asked
Both Spike and Rarity remembered what happened last time and how the girls messed up the party one by one. They quickly snapped back into reality and the both said, "Nothing! Nothing happened!"
Hawke looked confused and puzzled by their answer and said, "Ok…well I would love for you to make me a suit for it."
"Great! I will get to work on it as soon as I can," Rarity said.
After that Hawke decided to take his suits and head back home. Spike said goodbye to Rarity and he joined Hawke on the way out. Looming the shadows though, a creature stood near waiting for a chance to catch its prey.
"Isn’t Rarity the most beautiful pony in the entire world?" Spike asked.
"She’s nice, but she isn’t really my type of girl," Hawke replied.
"Well of course you would say that, you’re more interested in Twilight right?" Spike said.
Hawke turned red and stopped. Then he asked Spike, "What excatly made you say that?"
"Well for one thing you can't stop looking at her with your eyes and you can't help but always be near her when she needs you," Spike pointed out, "You have either blind or stupid not to notice."
"Right....wait, does Twilight notice?" asked Hawke.
"Well I know she's not blind and definitely not stupid, but for some reason she always not notice these things or she just dosen't care at the time," Spike pointed out.
"Ah," Hawke said with relieve.
As they were walking they suddenly heard a screaming voice coming from somewhere. Hawke then said, "DID YOU HEAR THAT!"
"YEAH and…….THAT SOUNDED LIKE RARITY!" Spike said.
Spike quickly went back to Rarity’s place; Hawke dropped his suits and followed him. When they got to the house, a giant gorilla came from behind the building hold a fainted Rarity. Spike was enraged and said, "LET HER GO!"
The gorilla ignored him and looked at Hawke. Then it swung its arm at them. Hawke quickly push Spike out of the way, got hit by the arm, landed against a tree, and was knocked out. As the gorilla was standing there triumphant, Spike got back up and said, "I said LET HER GO!"
All of a sudden Spike started transformed into a full-sized land dragon. Hawke woke up and saw what happen to Spike, he was amazed that such a little human-like dragon transformed in a real life dragon. Both Spike and the gorilla prepared for the battle. They stared down at each other to see who would go first. The gorilla started first and swung its arm at Spike. Spike blocked it with his arm and used swung his tail at its head. The gorilla started spinning around, but stopped and it still had Rarity in its hand. Then Spike used his claws at the gorilla and cut it around the chest. The gorilla felt pain, but was able to hold it in and went to bite Spike around the shoulders. Spike was in incredible pain and it looked like the gorilla was going to win. But then a huge explosion was on the back of the gorilla and it was in intense pain. Hawke had shot an energy ball at the back of the gorilla and threw an energy spear at the hand of which Rarity was on. The spear hit it and the gorilla let of Rarity and Spike grabbed her as she was falling. Spike then push the gorilla back and breathed fire on it. The gorilla was finished and it finally fell down dead.
Spike calmed down and started transforming back himself again. He was still holding Rarity in his arms and made sure that she was ok. Hawke ran over to them and asked, "Is she ok?"
"Yeah she is. She’ll wake up in no time," Spike said.
"Ok that’s good. So when did you learn how to do that?" Hawke said.
"Well that only happens on two thing; one was where if your greedy you can transform into a full-sized dragon and the other is when a dragon is really angry and can use that to become powerful," Spike explained.
Hawke the asked, "Wow, so it’s like a defend mechanism?"
"Yeah sort of like that," Spike said.
After their conversation, they got Rarity back into her house and into her room on her bed. Hawke decided that it was safe to leave Spike and Rarity alone. He also told Spike to tell Rarity that he saved her by himself, while Hawke was still out cold. Spike didn’t want to take all the credit, but said he would think about it. Hawke left the house, got rid of the gorilla’s corpse, got his suits, and went home. On the way, he thought about what he told Spike about his crushes and was wondering which one he wanted to be with. Then he thought, "Well I'm going to have a tough time."
Hawke then looked back at Rarity’s house and said, "Well Spike, at least you and I have the same problem with love."
Guardian of Equestria-Rise of the Blue Sun Chapter 9 Wings of an Angel
It was another day for Hawke as he was looking up to the sky wondering what would be like to actually fly among them. While he was day dreaming, Twilight called up to him and said, "HAWKE! STOP DAY DREAMING AND GET US OUT OF THIS MESS!"
Hawke quickly came back to reality and remembered that Twilight and him were grabbed by a giant octopus that was terrorizing Ponyville from the rivers. He was able to free one of his hands from the monster's tentical wrapped around him. Hawke hit the beast with a strange looking energy ball, it had small little sparks jumping around it, Hawke didn't have time to think about that though, and hit the Octopus with it, a terrible screech came out of it and it dropped Twilight and him, it fell into the river,where it sunk to the bottom, dead. The town was saved again and all of the ponies can continue with their business. Twilight walked up to Hawke and said, "Well that was unexpected. When did you start using electrical powers?"
"I don’t know. This is the first that I used this," he answered.
Twilight thought about it and said, "Hmm…Perhaps your magic is starting to develop more, which means you’re becoming more powerful"
"Well that's kinda cool," he said. Hawke thought getting a new power was cool, but there were other concerns in his mind at the moment.
Twilight looked at him with concern; he hadn't been himself for sometime. To her, it seemed like he was troubled by something, but didn't know what and asked, "Are you okay?"
"Yeah I’m fine, it’s just……Something has been bothering me for some time," he said.
"Like what?" she asked.
Hawke looked at Twilight with worry. It had been more then a month since he was brought to Equestria. He soon became a hero, battle monster now and again, learning new magic spells to use, and yet......there was an emptiness in him. He felt like there was something missing from his life. He thought about for a while and realized that he had accomplished so much here and he wished to show it to two people in his life, the people he never had a chance to know, he missed his parents and he wanted to show them how much he had grown up since he was young. But they were gone. Hawke came back to reality and said, "Well…tell you the truth, it’s something I need to tell someone else about it. I mean…I want to talk to you about it, but not yet."
Twilight looked at him for moment and said, "Okay I understand……Maybe you can talk to Fluttershy about it; she may be able to help."
Hawke the said, "Okay I’ll give it a try, thanks for understanding."
"No problem," she said.
Hawke then went to Fluttershy’s cottage, leaving a very concern Twilight behind.
Hawke walked along the path to Fluttershy’s place. When he got there he saw all kind of animals there and where they lived. Hawke knew Fluttershy loved animals, but didn’t know that they lived with her willing and were free to roam the area. Hawke then knocked on Fluttershy’s door and waited. The door opened and Fluttershy was there. She then said quietly, "Oh umm…hello Hawke, how are you?"
"I’m doing well, how about you?" he asked.
"Oh wonderful, the animals are happy, the birds are singing, all the animals are resting well, and Angel is happily asleep," Fluttershy said.
"Angel?" he asked.
"Yes, my little bunny friend. I think you met him one time," she said.
"Oh yeah……" Hawke said while he was remembering what happened.
Hawke remembered Fluttershy introducing Angel to him, while he was in the hospital when he first came here. Angel didn't like Hawke so much and kicked him on the arm were it was burnt. Hawke would have gotten revenge on that bunny, if it wasn't Fluttershy’s pet, though she wouldn't admit that Angel is her pet. Fluttershy looked at Hawke and said, "I’m sorry that Angel did that, he’s normally nice; he was cranky because he didn't have his carrots yet."
Hawke then said, "It's okay, I already forgot about it," then he whispered to himself, "mostly."
"So what brings you out here?" Fluttershy asked.
"Well it’s something personal and Twilight suggested talking to you about it," he said.
"Oh I see…well come in and I’ll make you some tea," Flutterfly said letting Hawke walk into her cottage, but unknown to them that a creature with wings prepares to strike.
In the cottage, Fluttershy poured tea into Hawke’s cup, they then sat down at the table and she started listen to Hawke problem. Hawke explained to Fluttershy that recently that he miss his parents and has been feeling depressed about it. Fluttershy thought to herself for a moment and said, " I know it's never easy to live without your parents, but what do you know about your parents?"
"All I know is that they were good people, sure they made mistakes, like really big mistakes. Like for example they had me before they were married, but from what my grandparents told me they never regretted it and they were glad to have me. They wanted me to be at a good school, go to church every Sunday, make friends, and to have a great life." Hawke said.
"Do you think you've made them proud?" she asked.
Hawke thought about it for a minute, he believed that his parents would be proud of him and that they watching him right now. He then said with a smile, " Yeah, I bet they are proud of me and I know they wish to be with me too. Although sometimes when I look up to the skies, I wish that I can fly up and see them again.
"Maybe you will someday, but right now they would want you to live on for them. You may not have known them, but I believe they knew that you would be something special and I know that they would be proud of you, Hawke," she said smiling.
When Hawke was beginning to get a bit teary, all of a sudden the windows were smashed open and caught Hawke and Fluttershy off guard. When they looked at the broken window they saw what looked like a pterodactyl, it was large, had legs and arms, as well as wings, and retile like eyes that looked around the room. At first it looked at Hawke, then it’s eyes looked at Fluttershy. It let out a shrieking sound that that hurt both Fluttershy and Hawke’s ears. It pushed him aside and grabbed Fluttershy, and then it flew off with her, while she was screaming. Markus was horrified; he quickly got up and chased after the creature.
Hawke quickly looked around and saw the creature with Fluttershy flying off. He thought about using his magic to get it, but was afraid he would hit Fluttershy. He then ran as fast as he could, while following them. Hawke didn’t know what to do, the creature was high above the ground with Fluttershy, while she is screaming and kicking to get free. He was stumped, he couldn’t do anything, he was able to fly, he wished with all his might and then…..
Hawke looked down and notice he wasn’t on the ground no more, he looked behind his back and saw angel like wings. They were glowing bright blue and were made completely out magic. He couldn’t believe it, he was able to fly.
Hawke quickly got himself together, decided it wasn’t the time to celebrate, and went after the creature with flying speed. He quickly caught up to it, flew above it, and fired his new electric ball. The ball hit, the creature, letting go of Fluttershy, and fell down into a lake and drowned. Hawke then said to himself, "What is up with the monsters dying in the water lately?" Fluttershy was falling and Hawke quickly caught her. She was relieved and held onto Hawke tightly. Then the two went back to the cottage.
Sometime had passed and the window to the cottage was fixed, thanks to Hawke’s magic. Angel went to Hawke and gave him a hug for saving Fluttershy, then bounce away. Hawke looked at Fluttershy for a moment, realized that she was a pegasus and she could have been able to save herself when she was falling. Hawke then asked, "Hey Fluttershy, you have wings right? Couldn't you fly without me catching you?"
"Well I can’t fly very high and when I get scared it’s almost impossible for me fly," she said.
"Really? How come?" Hawke asked out of curiosity.
"i-I don't want to talk about it. If you don't mind that is?," Fluttershy replied.
"Oh okay, I understand. Is it why you live here on the ground with the rest of the ponies?" he asked.
"Well yes, but that’s not the only reason I live down here. I also live down here so I can take care of all my animal friends and stay near Ponyville so I can visit the girls whenever I want to. It’s a nice life to live here," she answered with a smile.
"Yeah it is. Thanks again for listening I guess I just needed to talk to somepony," he said
"No problem and come back whenever you want to," she said.
"I will, thank you," he said.
Hawke left Fluttershy's cottage and walked his way home. As he was walking he decided to try flying some more. He opened up his wings and started flying through the clouds. He saw all of Ponyville from the skies, there was Twilight's home, The Cakes' Shop, Rarity's home, Sweet Apple Acres, and the town's hall. As he was flying, he saw two figures in front of him. They didn't have wings and they were waving at him. When he try to take a closer look at them, they went behind a cloud and disappeared. Hawke was confused at what he saw and wondered who they were. It wasn't long until he thought of who they were. He smiled with tears coming out of his eyes. He continued back home and said to himself, "I'm glad that you guys are still watching me."
Guardian of Equestria-Rise of the Blue Sun Chapter 10 A party of a Lifetime
It was morning time in Ponyville, everypony was waking up for a brand new day. At the house of Hawke, he was still asleep, it is Saturday and he usually likes to sleep in, unless there was a monster terrorizing the town, but Hawke had a feeling that there wasn’t going to be one today. As he was sleeping, he notices something heavy was on him. He opened his eyes to find another pair of eyes looking back at him. It was Pinkie Pie and she was lying on top of him. They were staring at each other until Hawke said, “Umm…Pinkie, What are you doing?”
Pinkie then said, “Saying good morning to you.”
“…Right. Pinkie, why are you here?” Hawke asked differently.
“Well it’s just that you hung out with every one of my friends and they got into like super cool adventures with you and I wanted to have a super cool adventure with you as well. So you’re pretty much stuck with me until we have a super cool adventure,” Pinkie answered.
Hawke looked at Pinkie with a strange look and thought of what she said. So far he did have adventures with almost all the gang and Pinkie is the only one left who hasn't been on any adventures with him. He certainly did go to all the parties she invited him to, but to her that wasn't enough. He decided to go along with it and sees what happens.
“Sigh” Alright Pinkie, if you want to, I let you tag along with me for the day,” Hawke said.
Pinkie smiled and said, “WOOHOO! ALRIGHT! THIS CALLS FOR A PARTY!”
“I don’t think that’s required, plus everypony is still recovering from that last party you threw,” Hawke pointed out.
“It wasn't my fault that the fireworks went off all at once,” Pinkie said defending herself.
“Pinkie…you lit the fuses,” Hawke pointed out again.
“………Oh yeah, that was fun,” Pinkie said while she was giggling.
Hawke sighed and got out of bed; he changed his clothes, went to the bathroom to brush his teeth and comb his hair, and went to eat breakfast, while Pinkie was watching him closely. It was really disturbing.
Hawke and Pinkie were now in town, walking around seeing were they can have their adventure. They looked everywhere to see if there were any monster sightings around, but according to Rainbow Dash, there wasn't any, nor were there any indications of one. So Pinkie decided for them to see if any pony needed help. They looked around the town again to see if any pony needed help, but to no avail, no pony needed any help at all. The whole morning had pass and Pinkie was getting annoyed by the fact that there is no monsters, nor was there any pony that needed help. Hawke notice this and said, “You know Pinkie, it’s only been morning, the monsters could come at any minute and the ponies in town usually need help with anything until the afternoons.”
Pinkie then said, “OOOOh, it’s just not fair, every time somepony hangs out with you, BAM, a monster comes out of nowhere and you beat the stuffing’s out of it. But now when you’re with me nothing exciting happens.”
“Pinkie, are you serious?” Hawke asked.
“What?” Pinkie said.
“You pretty much throw parties for everypony almost every day, you cheer up everypony when something bad happens to them, and yeah sometimes you even go as far as going out of your way just to make them your friend. You can’t tell me that being with you isn't exciting right?” Hawke asked.
“Well, everything does get exciting when anypony is around me,” Pinkie replied
“You better believe it, I still have the burn marks from last night to proof it,” Hawke said, when he was showing off the burn marks.
“Yeah sorry about that,” Pinkie said, while she was giggling with an apologetic look.
“It’s ok; it’s not the first time I get burnt by fireworks,” Hawke said.
“You know what? We don’t need to fight monsters to have fun we can do whatever we want and have fun doing it,” Pinkie announced.
“Yeah that’s the spirit…..Umm.......What are we going to do?” Hawke asked.
Pinkie sat on the ground for a good minute; she thought and thought and thought, until she had an idea. She then said, “Oh! We can throw a party!”
“Uh…Pinkie, I don’t think everypony is up for another party,” Hawke said.
“No silly, we going to throw a party for us,” Pinkie replied
“Huh?” Hawke said with surprise.
“Well since everypony else is tired, but you and I aren’t, we can just throw a party ourselves, that way I can still throw a party and have a super cool adventure. Oh it’ll be wonderful,” Pinkie explained.
“Well, if that’s ok with you, then why not? Let’s do it,” he said eagerly.
Pinkie then said, “Yeah let’s head over to my place and have it there.”
“Ok,” Hawke answered.
Pinkie and Hawke then went over to Sugar Cube Corner to throw their party, but unknown to them there is something lurking in the shadows.
Hawke and Pinkie were setting up for their party and were getting all hyped up for it. As Pinkie was making the cupcakes and Hawke was decorating, Twilight came in hoping to get something sweet to eat and she notice what was happen. Twilight then asked, “Hey Hawke, Hey Pinkie Pie, what are you two doing?”
“Oh were just setting up a party for me and Hawke here, since you guys had all the super cool adventure with him I thought I would have my super cool adventure with him today,” Pinkie answered.
“That sounds like fun…um…do you have one more room for me if you want?” Twilight asked.
“Well of course silly, what kind of friend would I be if I didn’t at least make room for my girls to join in,” Pinkie replied.
“Great!” Twilight said with a smile.
Twilight then went over to Hawke to help him out with the decorations. Hawke leaned over to her and whispered, “Why are you really here for?”
“I’m afraid Pinkie would go out of control again like last night and thought I would try to stop her from doing it again,” Twilight answered.
“Sounds like a good plan to me,” Hawke replied.
After a while, the decorations were set, the cupcakes were ready, and Pinkie was ready to party. She started the music and everyone started to celebrate. They first eat as many of the cupcakes as they could and drink some of the punch that she made, unfortunately Gunmmy had got in it again and Twilight spit out here drink, except Pinkie and Hawke. Twilight then asked, “WHY DIDN’T YOU SPIT THAT OUT?”
“What? The alligator flavor gave the kick it needed,” Hawke replied.
“I second that!” Pinkie also replied.
Twilight looked at them both with disgust. When they were done, all of them decided to start dancing with each other. Hawke started showing of his moves, all he really could think of for dance moves were at least moves that were used in the 70’s. Twilight and Pinkie cheered him on. Pinkie then decided to go to the back to make more treats for them and left Twilight and Hawke alone. The music then played a slow music and they both looked at each other. Hawke then asked, “Would you like this dance with me?”
“Yeah, I think I would,” Twilight answered with pleasure.
“Have to warn you though; I’m not that good at it,” Hawke commented.
“Don’t worry I’ll teach you,” Twilight replied.
Hawke and Twilight then hold each other and started dancing together. They both were feeling something for one another, and they had a good idea of what they were feeling. They both then stopped and as their faces were getting close to each other. They heard a scream coming from the kitchen. They quickly ran towards the scream until they saw Pinkie Pie being held tight around a snake-like person.
The snake was long and green, the bottom half of it was were the long tail was and the upper part was like a humanoid reptile with a head of a cobra.
While Pinkie Pie was being strangled, she said, “YES! FINALLY A MONSTER! NOW YOU CAN BEAT IT UP AND ACK!”
“Don’t worry Pinkie, we’ll save you,” Hawke replied.
The snake then lunge towards at Hawke and Twilight, before it could do anything, Hawke quickly grabbed Twilight and teleported them out of the way and moved to a different part of the Kitchen. It was a new trick that Twilight showed him recently and thought that was what he needed to defeat this creature. Before the creature could try again Hawke teleported near Pinkie, grabbed her, and teleported her to safety. Then Twilight shoots an energy ball at it and missed. The Snake disappeared before their very eyes. The group huddled together to make sure the creature didn’t sneak up on them. Twilight got her magic ready, Hawke charged up his arm with electricity, and Pinkie had a frying pan ready. The group was ready, but unknown to them; the creature was on top of them. It used its tail to push Twilight and Pinkie out of the way, got its tail around Hawke, and started strangling him. Hawke couldn’t concentrate, because the creature had its tail around his neck and he couldn’t breathe. Then the snake appeared in front of him and said, “At last, I get the honor to kill you.”
“What, do you just talk?” asked a shocking Hawke.
Before the snake could say anything else, Pinkie Pie came up behind him and hit it with her frying pan in the head. The snake was in pain and its ears were ringing. Hawke took the chance and got free of the creature’s tail. Twilight and Hawke then used their magic’s together and struck at the snake. It screamed with pain and finally fell over. Hawke then quickly ran over to it and said, “I fought the other monsters that came after me and you’re the first to actually talk. How is it that you can talk?”
“HA! I’m the only disciple to survive the process and still have a mind of my own,” replied the snake.
“Disciple? Disciple of what? And what process?” Hawke asked.
“Hehehe….Did you really think that the monsssssstersssss that came after you were just captured and tamed? No, we were created from poniesssss who willing transsssformed into creaturessssss with immense power to dessssstroy you and to sssssserve our massssster,” the snake answered.
Then Hawke said, “Wait…you mean…. those creatures I killed were….”
The snake interrupted and said, “Yesssss, they were once poniesssss and you killed them. Heheheh.”
Hawke was horrified of what he just heard. The monsters that he defeated were nothing more than just ponies that he had killed. He looked at his hands and realized that there was pony’s blood on them. He didn’t know what to think of this news, he thoughts were racing, and thought that if he had know along, would he still kill them or would he found a way save them. The thoughts never stopped and Twilight and Pinkie looked at him with worry. Before anything else happened, the snaked said, “You’re nothing more than a murderer of ponykind. You claim to protect poniessssss from monsssssterssss, but what you truly protect them from are other poniessssss and you just killed them without a sssssssecond thought. Sssssome hero you turned out to be.”
Before anyone could say something the snake pony started choking and died. Eveyone was in silent because of the shocking news that they heard.
Sometime had pass and the royal guards took the snake body away and left the bakery with Hawke, Twilight, and Pinkie. The three stood in silence after what they heard. Pinkie then decided to lighten the mood and said, “Well… that wasn’t much of a super cool adventure as what I had thought.”
“Yeah,” Hawke replied.
“Didn’t think it could get any worse,” Twilight said.
Hawke then said, “Yeah I know……Hey Pinkie, thanks for throwing the party, It was fun while it lasted.”
“Yeah…no problem,” Pinkie replied.
“Well I’m going to go home now see you later,” Hawke said.
“Yeah I’ll go home too, see you later Pinkie,” Twilight said.
“Ok see you guys later,” Pinkie replied.
Hawke and Twilight then left and went on the same paths to their homes at night. As they were walking Twilight notice Hawke was shaking. And all of a sudden he dropped down on knees, crying, and shouted, “OH GOD! TWILIGHT, WHAT HAVE I DONE?!”
Twilight quickly held on to him tightly and said, “There was nothing you could have done. You didn’t know. We didn’t know.”
As Hawke was crying, while Twilight was holding on to him. An evil lord started laughing while watching the misery from his orb.
Guardian of Equestria-Rise of the Blue Sun Chapter 11 A Mirror of Darkness
A couple of months have passed since Hawke first came to Equestria. He had faced many creatures and monsters, coming to terms with the lost of his parents, and had enjoyed the adventures he had with his new friends in Ponyville. But nothing had prepared him for the shocking truth that was revealed to him. The monster that he had killed were actually ponies, who willing turned in to them. This realization made Hawke regretted what he had done and wished that he had found out about this, so he could have found a way to help change them back to their old selves. In his mind, he thought of it as an unnecessary lost of life and his hands was covered with their blood.
A couple of weeks had passed since that day and now Hawke is in the middle of the Everfree Forest, unconscious and unaware of the danger that lays hidden. He then started waking up and thought to himself, “Ugh…..Where am I? ...... Looks like I’m In the Everfree Forest……What happened.”
Hawke tried to remember what had happen. All he could remember was there being a blue unicorn named Trixie coming into town and was messing with everyone. Apparently Twilight know her before and Trixie wanted to duel her for revenge after an incident with an ursa minor. Twilight accepted it, thinking she could take her on again like last time, but lost and was banished from Ponyville forever. Hawke tried to do something about it, but Trixie hit him with a wave of her magic and everything went black.
“Oh right, now I remember….. Great now all I need to do is found Twilight, get back to Ponyville, and beat that blue witch at her own game.”
Hawke got and started walking, then all of a sudden, he heard another voice said, “Where do you think you’re going?”
Hawke was surprised and looked to see where the voice came from. When he saw who it was, he couldn’t believe with his own eyes. He saw another Hawke, but he was different from him. He had orange fiery eyes, and a longer hair style, his robes were shades of red and orange, and his mark was the same as Hawke’s, but had fire around it. Before Hawke could say anything, the other Hawke said, “Well, I see someone is speechless. I’m not that surprised.”
Hawke then asked, “Hmm, I’m going to guess that you’re like an evil version of me. Am I correct?”
“Hehehe, in a way yes, but I’m much more than that. I’m basically the dark side of your soul. Trixie used an old and forbidden spell that allows a certain part of a person soul to become fully aware and do what it wants,” Answered the other Hawke.
“I see, so is your name Hawke too? Or is just Evil Hawke?” asked Hawke
“No, I think I’ll go by Spellfury Instead,” he said with a wicked smile.
“I see. If you have freewill of your own, then why are you doing here?”
“You see, Trixie may have given me freewill, but she can still send me back into you as she pleases. So she made a deal with me, I destroy you and I can go wherever I want to go and bring havoc on the world. Plus you would eventually come after me and try to stop me from hurting any other pony, like the good guy you are,” said Spellfury.
“So it’s comes down to this then? Fine, I have no problem taking you down,” said Hawke
“Like you did with those monsters?” Spellfury said.
“That’s different, you were created from darkness and hate, and I have no problem with that,” Hawke pointed out.
“Ah! But I’m also part of your soul, I’m basically a living person, can your heart handle another death on your hands?” Spellfury asked.
Hawke looked at him with worry. He couldn’t deny it; Spellfury was in fact a living person with thoughts and ideas, even if they were dark. But Hawke tried not to think about it too much, his friends are in danger and he has no time to deal with his emotions right now.
The two started at each other for a long time. Waiting to see who would make the first move. The tension was high and both of their lives were on the line. Water from a leaf was falling, as soon as it hit the ground, the two started battle. It was an intense battle, they threw all their magic spells at one another, only to collide with the other’s spell or avoid it. When they got close to each other, they started using martial arts skills that Hawke had learned in his own world, but unfortunately Spellfury had retain Hawke’s memories as well and know how to counter his moves. It was a deadlock, two beings having the same mind and body, knowing what the other would do and how to counter it. The only difference was one was good and the other was evil. The two then stopped and took a moment to breathe. Spellfury then said, “Seems like you’re out of breathe.”
“So are you,” Hawke replied.
“So what’s it like?” Spellfury asked out of the blue.
“What?”
“To take a person’s life away; you realize the power you hold can get rid of anyone that stands in your way and all you have to do is do it with a flick of your finger,” Spellfury said.
“NO! It didn’t. No one has the right to take another person’s life away. They could have friends, families, people they love. It’ll be a waste to take that away,” Hawke pointed out.
“But you did, you took those monsters lives with no problem. It was easy and you enjoyed it,” Spellfury explained.
Hawke thought to himself for a moment and said, “……I did……but no more, after that day, I swore I would not kill, unless it was absolutely the last thing to do and they gave me no choice. I’m going to found a way to save everypony, without sacrificing other’s blood. Even, if it means sacrificing myself to do so.”
Spellfury smile quickly disappeared and was replaced with anger. He then said, “So that’s it? You’re going to just forget what you did to those poor monster-like ponies? Is it that simple?”
“……It’s never that simple, but I could redeem myself by not using killing as the only solution to solve problems and I’m going to start with you,” Hawke said proudly
“HA! You’re going to defeat me without killing me! How are you going to do that?” Spellfury asked in anger.
“I don’t know, but it involves knocking you out cold.”
“BRING IT!”
Spellfury got ready for another assault, but he quickly notice Hawke was acting different. Hawke was gathering power slowly, but as it was his wings grow up from his back. His new resolve had made him more powerful and his entire body was covered in a blue aura, showing off his magic. Before Spellfury could do anything, Hawke disappeared and struck him with his fist across the face. Hawke started whaling on Spellfury at top speed and every strike that he made never missed, nor were they blocked. Spellfury was defenseless, he couldn't keep up with Hawke’s moves, and he couldn't get away from them. Spellfury then was getting so angry, he quickly gathered all of his strength, and released a wave of red energy around him. Hawke was caught off guard and was pushed back by the blast. Spellfury was still standing after the blast, saw Hawke lying on the ground, and said “IS THAT ALL YOU GOT!”
“Maybe for him, but I got a trick or two up my selves.”
Spellfury turned around to see who said that, but was blinded by a powder that was blown right at his face. Hawke quickly took advantage of this and charged at him. Hawke powered up his right hand, upper cut Spellfury in the face, and sent up in the air, until he wasn't seen anymore. Hawke then sat back down to cool off. The voice that spoke to Spellfury then revealed herself as Zecora.
Zecora went over to Hawke and said, “Ah! You must be Hawke. I am glad to finally meet you in person. Twilight has talked about you a lot since you first came to Ponyville.”
“I’m glad to meet you too. You must be Zecora then? I heard about you from Twilight as well. I would have met you sooner, but there was always something that needed my attention,” Hawke said with great relieve
“It is of no concern. Will we meet that fowl creature again?”
“More than likely, I survived worse than that. He’ll probably stay away from anypony for awhile. Otherwise I’ll found him again.” Hawke answerd.
“I’m glad to hear that. Hope it isn't anytime soon,” replied Zecora
“Right, anyway I need to found Twilight and head back to Ponyville. There’s a unicorn name Trixie messing up the place and someone has to-”
Zecora interrupted him and said, “No need to threat, Twilight has already defeated Trixie. She won’t harm anypony again.”
“Oh... I guess Ponyville doesn't need to be saved by me this time then,” Hawke said with more relieve
“If you would like? I could invite you over to my home and share a cup of tea with me. It would give us time to know one another,” Zecora offered.
“Why I would love that Zecora,” Hawke accepted.
“Excellent, follow me please. We have much to discuss.”
Hawke followed Zecora to her hut. He was feeling relieved after the battle with his dark side and now was ready to face the world again. Only this time he would face it, hoping for a way to save a monster rather than killing it.
Guardian of Equestria - Rise of the Blue Sun Chapter 12 Call of the Cruasders!
It was a normal day in Ponyville. Everypony was having a good time and for once there wasn't any signs of danger or monsters coming to wreak havoc on the town.
But out of nowhere a flash of orange started going through the town at a alraming speed. It was no other then Scootaloo going fast on her scooter and using her wings to speed it up. She was heading over to meet with her friends at their clubhouse near Sweet Apple Acres, but on the way she started doing all kinds of tricks like grinding, jumping over objects, and even going up ramps high in the air. As she was going fast, one the front wheels started to wobble without her noticing and soon it fell off. It soon sent Scootaloo off into the air and she was falling onto the ground. She tried to use her wings to fly, but she wasn't any good at it. She closed her eyes and braced herself for the hard landing.
All of a sudden, a blue aura was around Scootaloo and she stopped midway to the ground. She notice she wasn't falling anymore and she opened her eyes. She was then let down gently on the ground and she started to look around to see who helped her out. Right behind her, she heard a voice saying, "You okay kid? That looked like that was going to hurt a lot." She looked behind her to see that it was Hawke standing over her. He leaned down to her height and said to her, "Good thing I was around when that happened."
"Tell me about it. Are that hero that's been protecting Ponyville lately?" Scootaloo asked amazed at seeing Hawke for the first time.
"Yes that would be me. How did you know? Let me guess, it's the ears isn't it? I always assume that is the only reason how ponies recognize me around here so easily," Hawke replied.
"Umm I think it's because you're always wearing the same kind of outfit over and over again," Scootaloo explained.
"......That too," Hawke said.
Scootaloo laughed at Hawke's goofy comment and said, "Thanks for helping me out. I don't what would have happened if you didn't came along."
"No problem kid. That's what I do," Hawke said.
"Hate to run, but I need to meet up with my friends over at our club house. See ya later," Scootaloo said and went to put the wheel back on her scooter. She had it fixed and contiued on her way to her friends' club, while waving goodbye to Hawk.
Hawke waved back to her and went with his business. After a couple of steps, he realized something about Scootaloo. "Wait? Scootaloo. I think that's she friends with Sweetie Belle's and Applebloom. Yes that's it, I remember seeing her during the rock monster incident." He then continued on his way, until he suddenly realized something else. "Oh crap.......Where was I going?"
At the cutie mark's club, Applebloom and Sweetie Belle were planning out all their plans for getting their cutie marks. Scootaloo came out of the bushes with her scooter and went over to the girls.
"Hey guys, you wouldn't believe what happened today," Scootaloo said to them.
"Wait let me guess, your wheel fell of again," Sweetie Belle said.
"Umm...yeah." Scootaloo replied.
"And ya flew through the air because of that.....again,"Applebloom said.
"........Yeah," Scootaloo replied having her ears down.
"So wait, how come you're not at the hospital this time?" Sweetie Belle asked curious about Scootaloo being well.
Scootaloo's ears perked back up and replied, "That's because Hawke, the towns new hero, used his magic to save me at the last minute."
"*Gasp* Did you say Hawke? How is he? Is he doing okay? Is he still tall like he was last time?" Sweetie Belle asked. She developed a crush on Hawke, after the night that he rescued her from the rock monster.
"Umm...he's doing okay and he is still tall do to the fact that he's a grown up," Scootaloo said puzzled by what Sweetie Belle was saying.
"It must be nice being the hero of the whole town. Wish we can be heroes too," Scootaloo said.
After hearing what Scootaloo said, Applebloom came up with an idea. "Maybe we can!"
"Huh?" Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo said in unison.
"Think about it. Remember when Ah told ya girls about him telling me that humans don't get cutie marks, but he got one after defeating that monster? I bet we can get our cutie marks if we become heroes like him," Applebloom explained.
"That.....is......an AWESOME IDEA!" Scootaloo shouted in agreement.
"That is an awesome idea. That means we can be with him all the time," Sweetie Belle said while fantasizing about him and her being together in a romantic pose.
"Alright cutie mark crusaders, lets do this," Applebloom declared.
All the girls gathered around, put their hands in the center, and said, "CUTIE MARK HEROES GO!"
Over at Twilight's home, Spike and Hawke were playing cards and so far Hawke was beating Spike nonstop. Spike looked at his cards and looked back at Hawke. "Alright your going down this time." Spike showed his hand. "Pair of twos!"
Hawke showed his hand and replied, "Pair of threes, I win."
"DDDAAAAAAA!" Spike shouted in defeat. "How is it that you win every time?"
"Don't ask me. I didn't even know that I can play cards," Hawke said pulling all of what Spike and him bet on the table.
"Wha.....then how di.... Oh never mind," Spike said and gave up on the question.
As the two were getting ready for another round of cards, the Cutie Mark Crusaders opened the door to the library and went up to Hawke.
"Hawke we want to be trained to be heroes like ya," Applebloom said.
".......Why?" Hawke asked confused by Applebloom's statement.
"We want to get our cutie marks and we think it's the best way to get it," Scootaloo explained.
"Plus we want you to be the only one to train us," Sweetie Belle said looking at Hawke, while blushing.
"Look girls I know that you want your cutie marks so much, but I don't think tha-," Hawke was explaining until Applebloom interrupted him.
"We ain't going to take no for an answer and we're not going anywhere, until ya agree to train us," Applebloom declared.
"Okay first of all, if ain't ain't a word, then it's ain't in the dictionary. And second, there is no way I'm putting you girls in danger, so unless you came prepared to convince me otherwise. I'm not going to train you," Hawke said crossing his arms and closing his eyes.
A few seconds had passed and the girls had Hawke pinned down on the floor. In his mind he said to himself, "I can't believe I've been pinned down by three little pony girls. How did they even over power me?" Applebloom and Sweetie Belle were holding down his arms, while Scootaloo was holding down both his legs.
"Are you ready to train us now?" Applebloom said while she was giving a smirk smile at him.
"Are you sure we can't work out a deal?" Hawke asked desperate for them to agree.
"Nnope," Applebloom replied.
Hawke gave out a defeated sigh. "Alright, you guys win. I'll train you all tomorrow."
The girls gave out a victorious cheer and let go of Hawke. They said their goodbyes to him and were eager for what was to come tomorrow. Hawke got back up to his chair and was relieved that it was over, but dreaded of what was to come tomorrow.
"You sure show them," Spike said sarcastically.
"Hey! It was three against one and they were girls. What could I have done to prevent this?" Hawke explained defending what was left of his pride.
"Goodpoint. Now where were we? Oh yeah, I was finally going to beat you at this game," Spike said with confidence.
"What exactly do you have to bid now? I already have won all most of your stuff," Hawke said and pointed at the bags of stuff that Spike lost.
"Oh but I bet you don't have this," Spike said pulling out a picture of Twilight in a nightgown.
"Whe.....how..............All in," Hawke said putting everything he had on the table.
"Alright let's do......Is something wrong?"
Hawke had a terrified face on him and when Spike turned around to see what was behind him, his eyes shrunk as he saw Twilight standing behind him and giving him a look.
"What exactly do you have there?" Twilight said with a stern voice.
A bunch of purple lights and violent noises where coming from the library, as well as screams being heard. When the noises dyed down, inside the library Spike and Hawke were on the ground, groaning in pain and were covered in black ash. Twilight was leaving the room, while using her magic to levitate all of Hawke's winnings and took the picture that Spike had.
It was the next day and Hawke and the Cutie Mark Crusaders were walking into town. The Crusaders were talking about what they were hoping to do when they became heroes, while Hawke tried to think of a way out of this situation. "Alright. These are just little girls that want to be heroes. Thing is, they're just doing it to get a cutie mark and the last thing I want is to get them in trouble." He thought about it more and came up with an idea. "Wait! I bet if I show them the other things about being a hero, they might just give up and go home."
Hawke turned to the Crusaders and said, "Alright girls, here's what we're going to do today."
"Are we going to fight monsters?" Scootaloo asked.
"Are we going to save somepony?" Applebloom asked.
"Do you have a girlfriend?" Sweetie Belle asked without thinking.
"What?" Hawked asked confused at what Sweetie Belle said.
"Uhhh...I mean....are we going on a quest?"
"No, no, and umm...no I guess? We're going to do something completely different," Hawke answered.
"What is it?" Applebloom asked.
Hawke and the girls were coming out of the Sugarcube Corner and were carrying packages. Mr.Cake was behind them and said, "Thanks again for delivering the pastries for me Hawke and you too girls."
"It's no problem Mr.Cake. I'll get these delivered in no time," Hawke replied.
After walking for a few minutes, Applebloom asked, "Hawke how is doing this have ta do with being a hero?"
"Sometimes helping others is what a hero does," Hawke answered and continued, "Besides there's something else that we have to do."
"Really like what?" Scootaloo asked.
Out on the fields of Sweet Apple Acres, Hawke and the girls were painting on the side of the barn, while Applejack and Big Mac were bucking down apples.
"How are you girls like being a hero?" Hawke asked.
"It's boring. When are we going to fight monsters?" Scootaloo asked complaining.
"Fighting monster doesn't what makes a hero who he is or her. It's about doing what's right and knowing what wrong," Hawke explained.
"But we want to fight a monster so we can get our cutie marks NOW!" Scootaloo said and kicked the side of the barn.
Sweetie Belle was on a ladder and she almost lost her balance when Scootaloo kicked the barn. She was able to get her balance back, but the paint bucket she had with her fell on top of Hawke's head. Hawke was covered in red paint and the bucket was stuck on his head. Scootaloo had a apologetic face and said, "Sorry"
After two hours of getting the bucket off of Hawke, even with the help of his magic, he stopped by his home to changes outfits and returned the paint covered one to Rarity. She almost fainted when she saw the paint stained outfit. After that, he and the girls were at Twilight's library helping her reorganize her books. She was making Hawke do this after the incident yesterday and thought it was a perfect punishment (Besides hurting him with her magic).
While they were stacking the books on the selfs, Applebloom asked Hawke, "Does this have to do with being a hero as well?"
"To be truthful.....no. This is punishment right now for what I try to do yesterday," Hawke answered.
"What did you do?" Sweetie Belle asked.
"Ummm....that's not important right now. Anyways let's just put the rest of the books up," Hawke replied.
"Man it's taking forever just to be a hero,?" Scootaloo said.
"It takes time to be a hero. You can't just be a hero in one day," Hawke explained.
"But didn't ya become a hero on the first day ya got here?" Applebloom asked.
"....................Okay maybe it's the first day for some, but my point remains valid. You have to train yourself both physically and mentally to be ready to face any challenges that's thrown at you."
"Which in Hawke's case, he mostly trained himself physically and skips out on reading the books I assign him to do," Twilight remarked.
"Exactly.............wait.......ah oh."
The girls started laughing at Hawke's embarrassing moment, while Twilight was yelling at him for not reading the books that she wanted him to read.
"Back to my point. Like I said you can't become heroes for a day," Hawke said and turned back to reshelving the books. "Unless of course you guys go somewhere wheres there monsters to fight and make you legends or discover lost hidden treasures. But where can you find a place like that?"
"In the Everfree Forest?" Scootaloo asked.
"Hmmm I guess that would be a good place to start. Why do you say?" Hawke didn't get a reply and everything was quiet. He looked back and saw that the girls were gone. "Huh? Where did they go?" When he looked around he saw a disgruntle Twilight looking at him with a stern look. It took him a moment to realize what he just done. "Oh crap."
Twilight and Hawke came running out of the library looking for the girls. As they were running, Twilight shouted at Hawke, "YOU HAD TO GIVE THEM AN IDEA DIDN'T YOU!"
"I DIDN'T THINK THEY WOULD TAKE IT LITERALLY!"
"THEY TAKE EVERYTHING LITERALLY WHEN IT COMES TO CUTIE MARKS!"
"WELL NOW I KNOW!"
In the Everfree Forest, the Cutie Mark Crusaders were walking around looking for something that would make them a hero and get their cutie marks.
"How are we suppose to fight a monster anyway? We don't exactly magical powers like Hawke does," Applebloom pointed out.
"Sweetie Belle has magic," Scootaloo said.
"Yeah, but I don't know how to use it like Hawke does," Sweetie Belle explained.
"Well we can just find hidden treasure like Hawke said," Scootaloo said.
"Don't you think we should have brought him with us? I mean it could be dangerous after all," Sweetie Belle said.
"He would more then likely to stop us from going and made sure that we wouldn't come here," Scootaloo explained. "Besides it's not that dangerous out here right?"
Sweetie Belle and Applebloom looked at each other wondering if Scootaloo remembered the last time they came into the forest and had to deal with the whole cockatrice situation that Fluttershy helped them out of. They were passing by a lake and while they were passing by something large was coming out of the lake. The girls stopped and watched what was coming out and when they saw what it was.......
After a few minutes in the Everfree Forest, Twilight and Hawke kept on looking for the girls. Twilight was moving a branch out of the way and when she let go it hit Hawke in the stomach. "OW!"
"Oh sorry Hawke! Are you okay?" Twilight asked out of concern.
"Yeah it's okay. Stings a bit, but I'll get over it," Hawke said.
"Well I can't say you deserve it," Twilight said.
"Have ta agree with you on that. Man I really have to watch what I say around people," Hawke replied.
"You should also watch what you do as well," Twilight added.
"What do you mean?"
"You were trying to win an embarrassing photo of me. You should have at least try to take it away from Spike and destroy it. But you had to be like some of kind perv!"
Hawke blushed and he did regret trying to win that from Spike. "Twilight I'm sorry about that. I should have known better then to do that. You did so much for me and.....I acted like that and I shouldn't have. But to tell you the truth..."
"Yeah?" Twilight asked looking into Hawke's eyes.
"It's because..."
"Yeah?"
As they both were about to lock lips with each other, they both heard screams coming from deep in the forest.
"That sounded like the girls!" Twilight said panicking.
"Let's go! It came from over there," Hawke pointed and ran towards were the scream were.
Hawke and Twilight went throught the forest quickly and when they found out where the girls were, they saw a giant man-like crocodile trying to get the girls. He was ten feet tall, had green armored like skin, and had the head of a human reptile. The girls were in a tree that the crocodile couldn't fit in and had to use his claws and teeth to get around it.
The crocodile then notice Hawke and Twilight and turned to face them. "So we meet face to face hero."
"Wait I thought the snake guy was the only one that could talk?" Hawke said confused at what was going on.
"Our master has perfect his technique since then on turning us into stronger creatures. Now we can have power and our minds. So prepare yourself hero, for you about to meet your end."
"Why does everyone think they can take me down so easily?"
The crocdile ignored Hawkes comment and charged right at him. Hawke and Twilight dodged out of the way and the creature passed by them. The creature then turned back around and grabbed a nearby log. It threw at Hawke, but used his magic to cut through log in half and it went by him on both sides. The creature then jumped high into the air and when landed near Hawke, causing a shock wave that pushed him back into the lake. When the creature was about to enter the lake, a flash of purple energy hit him in the back of the head. It turned around to see Twilight that cast a spell on it. The creature let out a huge roar and charged at Twilight.
Hawke came emerged from the lake and swam across the lake to shore. He looked up to see Twilight using her magic against the crocodile, but nothing was working. "Oh man how did Batman beat croc in Arkham again?" He thought about the details of one of his favorite games. "Crap. I need to be in one of those prison for insane people, in the sewers, and have one those exploding gels that Batman has. Wish I didn't get stuck in here before Arkham Orignins, I bet there was a way to beat him then." Hawke got out of the lake and decided to charge up his electric ball. He charged right onto the back of the creature and electrocuted it. It let out a scream of pain, but it endure it and swung his arm towards Hawke and pushed him back against a tree. Twilight tried to fire another ball of energy at it, but the creature grabbed her and started squeezing her. Twilight was in pain and all that she could was scream in helplessness. Before the creature could finish her off however, the girls started throwing rocks at it and with a good aim, Scootaloo was threw a rock into the creature's eye. The creature was blinded and let go of Twilight. Hawke got back up and saw a chance to take it down. He charged up his hands with magical blue energy and started running towards it. He used his magic to increase his strength and started pounding on the crocodile. With every punch that Hawke could make did serious damage to the crocodile, but cause Hawke pain because of the crocodiles armor. He didn't care though and kept on going, until his last punch landed on the creatures face, knocking it to the ground and knocked out.
Hawke let out a sigh of relieve and sat on the ground. The girls went over to Twilight, got her back up, and went over to Hawke.
Twilight looked at Hawke's hands and said, "Oh dear Celestia, your hands!"
Hawke looked at them and they were bleeding and covered in blood. "Wow, didn't even notice that."
"Come on let's get you back to the library and get you bandaged up," Twilight said picking Hawke off of the ground.
"What about the crocodile dude?" Hawked asked.
"I'll let the princess know right away and she'll send guards over to take it somewhere," Twilight replied and was leading Hawke and the girls back to Ponyville.
It was late in the even at the library and everything seemed to be peaceful. Hawke's hands were bandaged and the girls were back at their homes, more then likely being punished for their stunts today. Hawke just sat down on a chair relaxing and Twilight used her magic to pull up a chair and sat next to him.
"Another day of being a hero huh?" Twilight asked Hawke.
"Yeah. Truth be told, I thought this was going to be a peaceful day." Hawke replied.
"You think the girls still want to be heroes?"
"After what happened I doubt it. Also I told their parents to tell them not to be a hero like me right now."
Twilight giggled at what Hawke said and he laughed a bit too. There was a moment of silence between the two and Twilight broke it. "Hey Hawke."
"Yeah?"
"What were you about to say before that crocodile tried to catch the girls?"
Hawke blushed and said, "Well ummm...."
"Yeah?" Twilight said hanging on to Hawkes words.
"Well....it's because..."
"Yeah?"
"..............I thought you were really hot in that picture." Hawke answered still blushing.
Twilight's face was suddenly red with embarrassment and quickly changed to anger at what Hawke said. She sat up from her chair and hit Hawke on the top of the head. It left a huge lump on him and he was unconscious.
Twilight walked out of the room and shouted, "YOU CAN GO HOME NOW YOU IDIOT!"
Guardian of Equestria - Rise of the Blue Sun Chapter 13 A Hero's Special Day!
In the house of Hawke Gregory, he was sleeping in bed peacefully. It was a sleep that he had hope for since coming to Equestria. Sadly it was not the case. As Hawke was sleeping, somepony had a blow horn and let out a loud noise with it. Hawke screamed at the sudden noise and fell over to the floor. Hawke was upside down on the floor and looked to see who it was.
"Pinkie? What are you doing here?" Hawke asked.
"Well duh! It's your birthday silly. I came over to celebrate it," Pinkie replied.
"Thanks for remembering that Pinkie, but you didn't have to wake me up like this you know."
"But I wanted it to be a surprise."
"I guess you did succeeded at that. Oh man I still feel so tired. What time is it?"
"It's a minute after midnight."
Hawke stared at Pinkie with a straight face for a moment after she said that. "Pinkie. Why did you wake me this early in the morning?" he asked.
"Well that's because two minutes ago it wasn't your birthday, but after the clock turned midnight it was your birthday. Plus it's your first birthday in Equestria EVER! And I wanted it to be super special," Pinkie explained.
"I'm glad that you're excited for my birthday Pinkie, but couldn't you have waited until later?"
"Of course not silly. The others are waiting for us down stairs."
"The others?"
"Yeah they're waiting for us. Come on!" Pinkie said and bounce out of Hawke's room.
Hawke was confused at the whole situation. He got up from the floor and didn't bother changing his out of his pajamas. He made his way down stairs to see Pinkie moving around like crazy full of energy and the others as well. All of the girls still had their pajamas on and their hairs were mess up from waking up from sleeping. Spike was there too, but he was on the ground sleeping from exhaustion.
"Let me guess. She dragged you guys here from out of bed did she?" Hawked said to the girls.
"Yep" Applejack replied plainly laying on the couch with Applebloom on her.
"She dragged us out here, while we were still asleep," Rarity said holding a sleeping Sweetie Belle in her arms.
"And she's been keeping us up until now," Twilight added sitting on the floor with her head laying on the table.
Fluttershy didn't say anything, mostly because she was more dazed then anyone else.
Hawke was almost surprised that Pinkie went and got everybody up so early, but what really did surprised him was the fact that she was able to get Rainbow Dash. "Umm Dash, how did she get you here? Don't you live in a cloud?"
"She found a way," Dash replied.
"But-"
"Don't ask."
Hawke scratched his head for a moment to think and decided not to push the subject any further.
"Pinkie, don't you think we should have waited for my birthday until in the morning?" Hawke asked.
"It is morning silly," Pinkie pointed out.
"*Sigh* Okay, let me rectify that sentence. Pinkie, don't you think we should have waited for my birthday until the sun was up?"
"But I'm too excited for this. I mean it's not just going to be your first birthday here, but it'll be the first birthday for any human here in Equestria as well!" Pinkie pointed out.
"Uh, I can see why you would be that excited," Hawke said in agreement.
"Exactly! So we need to make this the best party EVER! It is our moral duty to make sure everything goes right and to make sure nothing goes wrong. I will not rest until Hawke here gets the best party EVER! So is everypony with me?"
Pinkie looked around to see everypony was back to asleep including Hawke who was sleeping on the stairs. Pinkie shrugged and said, "I guess we can have a "sleeping at Hawke's house party" to start out his birthday."
It was later in the morning and the sun was high up in the air. Pinkie was getting the whole town ready for Hawke's birthday and she was overseeing all that was going on. She made sure every decorations was ready to go, checking to see how the cake was going, making sure everypony was coming to the party, and checked every party supplies that they needed.
As she was walking around town, Hawke spoke up and said, "I know that you're making this my best birthday ever, but do I really have to wear this blindfold everywhere I go?"
"Well yeah, I can't let see any of this until everything is ready to go," Pinkie replied holding Hawke's hand while guiding him.
"I see. Aren't you at least worried that a random monster would attack me on this day?"
"Don't worry about that, I made some calculations about that and you won't get attacked until next Tuesday," Pinkie explained.
"What?"
"Hold on a minute, I need to go see Vinyl about the music for the party. I'll be back in a second," Pinkie said bouncing away.
Hawke just stood where he was patiently. He thought that since Pinkie was gone, he could take a peak at what was going on around him. He started to unfold his blindfold, until a loud voice said, "WAIT!" The pony in question jumped right at Hawke causing to fall to the ground and stopping him from unfolding his blindfold. "Ah wouldn't recommend taking that off yet."
"APPLEJACK, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Hawke shouted as Applejack was on top of him.
"Just answer one question before ya do anything else," Applejack said.
"Okay what is it?"
"Did you Pinkie promise not to take off that blindfold?"
"Yes?"
"Oh thank Celestia Ah stopped ya in time," Applejack said feeling relieved.
"What are talking about?" Hawke asked.
"Trust me on this when Ah say that ya don't want to break a Pinkie promise."
"Why, what happened?"
"Remember what happened to Carrot Top?"
"I remember that she made a Pinkie promise to Pinkie about delivering some carrots for her, but she couldn't and sometime after that, one of her legs got broke-OH MY GOD! DID PINKIE DO THAT TO HER?"
"WHAT? NO! She fell down some stairs and got her leg broken. All Pinkie did was get mad at her for hours and she kept on coming out of nowhere scaring her."
"Oh"
"Trust me on this, ya don't want Pinkie to be mad at ya or anything."
Hawke let a defeated sigh and said, "Alright, I guess I'll keep this blind fold on until Pinkie says so."
"Glad ta hear it," Applejack replied.
"Can you do me one favor though?"
"What's that?"
"Can you walk me around instead of Pinkie? She gets too distracted with all the things she's doing and I keep on hitting against a pole."
Applejack giggled and said, "Sure Ah'll walk with ya for a while." She grabbed onto Hawke's hand and started walking with him.
As they were walking, Hawke could hear the whole town working on his birthday party and getting the whole town ready for it. While Hawke was happy that everypony was getting everything ready, he felt guilty that everypony had to work so hard for him.
"Hey Applejack?"
"Yeah?"
"Do you think everyone here is overdoing it here? I mean I'm grateful that everyone is doing all this, but it's just my birthday and all. I just don't see why everybody (especially Pinkie) should make a big deal about it."
"Ah think their going overboard with it too, but they are doing it for ya because ya save this town from monsters and always been willing to help out whenever ya can. So just let them do what they have to, because their your friends and everypony here want's to make you happy," Applejack said hugging Hawke.
"Alright, I guess since they want to do all this, I'll let it go," Hawke replied hugging Applejack back.
As they were both hugging, they heard a series of fireworks going off nearby and somepony shouted, "FIRE IN THE HOLE!"
Applejack panicked and shoved Hawke in a nearby empty barrel. She soon took cover as the fireworks were going out of control. The fireworks were going everywhere and everypony were ducking and taking cover.
"What's going on out there?" Hawke said as he was upside down in the barrel. One of the fireworks was zigzagging, until it landed in the same barrel that Hawke was in. "Hey, what's that hissing noise?..............Oh crap."
BOOM!
After a couple of hours of repairs to the houses(and one quick trip to the emergency room), everypony continued on with planning and working on Hawke's party. Hawke was just walking without the blindfold. After what had happened to him, he would rather face Pinkie's wrath then to get blown up by another firework. After the firework incident, Hawke's hair is now shorter then it was and more darker then before.
As Hawke was walking, he heard Twilight coming behind him. He stopped for a moment and said, "Hey Twilight, how's it going?"
Twilight walked up next to Hawke and replied, "It's going well. Everything is going as planned and we should get the party ready in an hour or so. Oh I like your new hairstyle."
"Thanks, just had it cut."
"So Pinkie let you take off the blindfold?"
"Nope, just took it off myself."
"WHAT?!?" Twilight shouted with horror
"Look so far I couldn't see anything, I keep on hitting against polls, and fireworks were going off everywhere and I ended up being blown up!" Hawke explained.
"You got blown up?"
"Don't change the subject right now."
"Why would I not?"
"Anyways, yes I did take off the blindfold and there is nothing that anyone or anything that could change my-"
"HAWKE!"
Hawke and Twilight looked down the street to see Pinkie running towards them and shouted, "YOU PINKIE PROMISE!"
Hawke's eyes shrunk and he gulped. "Is it too late to put the blindfold on?"
Pinkie stopped and from out of nowhere she grabbed a large cannon and pointed it at Hawke.
"It's too late."
Pinkie fired the cannon and a straight jacket come out of it. It hit Hawke and he was trapped by the jacket. "How did this thing even get on me that easily?"
"That's because I'm a good cannon shooter," Pinkie said and put another blindfold on Hawke. "Usually I would get mad at you for peaking. But since it's your birthday and I would properly do the same, so I'll let it slide and just keep you in this jacket for awhile."
"Terrific."
"Now then, I have to go finish up some business and We'll get this party started," Pinkie said and bounced away.
Twilight looked down at Hawke and asked, "Do you need any help?"
"No, no, I'll just get up and walk around blindly," Hawke replied sarcastically.
"You know I can just leave you here."
"Sorry."
It was near nighttime and Pinkie finally let Hawke take off his blindfold and straight jacket. They were all at his house with almost everypony there. There was a stage setup in front of Hawke's house and Pinkie picked up a microphone and shouted, "ARE YOU PONIES READY TO PARTY!" The crowd of ponies soon screamed in excitement and Pinkie replied, "ALL RIGHT, LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED THEN!" Pinkie gave Vinyl a signal and soon she started to play a dupstep style music on her audio set.
Soon everypony was dancing to the music and they were all enjoying it. As the party was getting started, everypony was saying happy birthday to Hawke and were giving him presents.
"Happy Birthday, Hawke! I brought you some of my homemade muffins," Ditzy said handing a basket of muffins to Hawke.
"Thanks Ditzy, I always love your muffins," Hawke said with a smile.
"Hello there Hawke, happy birthday. Here I got you this key here," Doctor Hooves gave to the key to Hawke and continued, "What the key is for, I won't say for now."
"Umm okay? Thanks?" Hawke said out of confusion.
"Happy birthday, Mr.Gregory, I got you this trinket that I bought from Canterlot from my last performance there," Octivia said.
"Thank you and I would love to hear you at one of your performances if I get the chance to," Hawke said.
"I would be more then happy for you to come to my performance. I'll be having one in Ponyville next week," Octivia replied.
"Awesome"
"Happy Birthday! I made you this heartstrings here," Lyra said handing the heartstrings.
"Oh thank you for this, Lyra," Hawke said.
"No problem. Ooohhhhh, I like your hands."
"Ummm.....thanks?" Hawke replied feeling a little uncomfortable.
"Happy Birthday, Hawke! I brought you some of my newest candy I've been working on," Bon Bon said.
"Thank you. Oh sweet taffy, I love these!" Hawke said excitedly.
"Happy Birthday, Hawke! My students made these cards for you," Cheerilee said.
"Thanks you, Miss Cheerilee. I will read them all whenever I get the chance to," Hawke said.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!" the cutie mark crusaders shouted in unison and jumped towards Hawke hugging him.
"Thanks girls, I'm glad you three could come," Hawke replied hugging the trio back.
Everypony was enjoying the party and were enjoying each others company. The party was beginning to be in full swing, until the sounds of trumpets were heard in the sky. Everypony looked up and saw a gold chariot flying overhead with four pegasi pulling it and at least a dozen armored Pegasi were escorting it. On the back of the chariot was Princess Celestia and another pony that was adorn with the same kind of outfit as Celestia, but had the theme of the night sky. The chariot landed in front of Hawke's house and Celestia and the other pony were stepping off of the chariot. While they got off, Twilight quickly ran towards to the two and said, "Princess Celestia! Princess Luna! I didn't know you both to be here. If I had known, I would've prepared everything for your arrival. Please forgive me!"
Celestia gave a warm smile to her faithful student and said, "It is alright, Twilight. I wasn't sure that I was able to attend to Hawke's birthday, but luckily it seemed that I was able to come." She then turned her attention towards Hawke, who stood next to Twilight. "Hawke, it is good to see you again."
"It is good to see you too, princess," Hawke said with a bow.
"As I am glad to meet you again. I wanted to say happy birthday to you and I wanted to also introduce to you my beloved sister, Princess Luna," Celestia said and turned her attention towards her sister.
Hawke then turned his attention towards the dark blue pony. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Princess Luna. I'm glad that I got a chance to finally meet you."
"You've heard of me?" Princess Luna asked sounding surprised.
"Yes, Twilight told me everything about you and I was hoping to meet," Hawke replied.
Luna blushed a bit after hearing that. It was so rare for her to hear that somepony would want to meet her, but she then remembered what he said about Twilight telling him everything about her and wondered if he knows anything about her being Nightmare Moon. "Did she tell you everything about me?" she asked.
"Yes, your majesty," Hawke answered.
"So you know about my time as Nightmare Moon?"
"Yes, but you have nothing to worry about it. I know that you never really wanted to do any of that and you were just lost. But now you're doing everything you can to make it up for it and I think that's what matters."
Luna was relieved to hear that and she now saw why her sister trusted him. "Thank you, Sir Hawke. I really appreciate what you've said."
Hawke gave a smile towards Luna and she did the same for him.
"If it's okay with you all, I would like to talk to you, Twilight, and the rest the bearers of harmony in private for a moment," Celestia said.
"Of course, your majesty whatever you need," Hawke said.
Hawke, the mane six, and the princesses walked together towards Hawke's home. Before Luna went in the house, she used her magic to levitate a wrapped box and brought it into her arms and brought it inside.
Inside Hawke's house they were heading up to his room with Hawke leading the way. Hawke spoke up and said, "My room isn't being used, so we can have whatever it is that you wanted to-" Before he could finish, he opened the door to see a mare and stallion making out on his bed. The couple noticed that they were there and froze up with fear. After a moment of awkward silence, Hawke closed the door and said, "On second thought, there is a spare room that I haven't had the chance to use since I started living here. Why don't we use that instead?"
Everypony nodded at Hawke's suggestion and ignored at what was going on in his room. Hawke leaned over to Twilight and asked, "Can you remind me not to sleep in that room again?"
"I think I can make arrangements for that," Twilight replied blushing.
They finally got to the room Hawke mentioned and he opened the door for them. The room was fairly small, but it was big enough for all of them to fit in. Everypony was able to find a spot to sit except Hawke who preferred to sit up.
After a moment, Princess Celestia spoke up and said, "I wanted to talk to you all about the plans I have to get ready at the time of the prophecy." The room fell silent after she had said that. It was something that everypony didn't wanted to hear, but it was something that needed to be discuss. She went on to say, "As you know, the Grand Galloping Gala is next week and I plan on revealing to the world Hawke and the prophecy that's going to happen. Are you ready for this Hawke?"
"I am, your highness.With the help of my friends here, I'll be more then ready to do this," Hawke replied feeling confident.
"I'm glad to hear it. I'm sorry to say this, but I must take my leave now. But Luna here has something that she thought you would like," Celestia said turning her attention towards her sister.
Luna blushed a bit and said, "Yes, I do have a gift for thee." She then handed the box to Hawke.
After Hawke opened the box, inside it was a pair of silver gauntlets with well made designs on it. On the top hand part of the gauntlets, was a crescent moon shaped sapphire on it. Hawke looked up to the princess of the night and said, "Thank you, Princess Luna. I really like these and they seem to go well with my outfit."
"You are most welcome, Sir Hawke. And you will be glad to know that the gauntlets will enhance your magical powers and will pretect you from other's magic as well," Luna explained.
"Thank you, your majesty. That would come in handy."
After some 'thank yous' and 'farewells,' Princess Celestia and Luna soon left the Hawke's house and started to fly back to Canterlo in there chariot. Hawke and the mane six soon got back to the party and everypony was having a good time.
It was late in the evening and Hawke was in the back of his house's balcony leaning on it and was looking over to the night sky. He soon heard the door behind open and saw that it was Twilight. She walked over to him and asked, "What are you doing out here?"
"Just needed some fresh air and some peace and quiet," Hawke replied.
"Do you need to be alone?" she asked.
"No, I don't mind that you're here," Hawke repliechd giving Twilight a warm smile.
Twilight returned a smile back to Hawke and she soon leaned next to him. She soon watched the sky with Hawke and after a few moments of silence, she spoke up and asked, "Do you ever miss your old world?"
Hawke looked at Twilight with a puzzled look. "That came out of the blue. What made you want to ask me that?"
"Well, it's just......you never really talk about it much. I just thought you were homesick or something."
There was a moment of silence, as Hawke was thinking about it. He then looked up to the sky and replied, "I do miss it sometimes. There are times that I wish to go back home and see my family again." When Twilight heard that, her ears lowered with sorrow. But then Hawke continued, "But I know that part of my life is over and I never want to leave this place. Because if I do leave, I would be leaving Ponyville, my new friends here, and-" He paused for a moment and looked over to Twilight. He then finished, "you"
Twilight's heart started beating faster and started blushing. "I-I'm glad to hear that Hawke. There was something else that I wanted to ask you."
"What is it?"
"I know that we be going to the gala together with the rest of the girls and Spike, but.....I wanted to ask if you would want to go there with me........as a couple."
When Hawke heard that, it felt like he lost all of his breath and couldn't breathe. He quickly got himself to take a deep breath and said, "Yes, I would love to go there with you."
"Great, I'm glad to hear it," Twilight said excitedly.
After that, they just looked at each other for what seemed like forever to them. They soon got in close to each other and stared into one another's eyes. Soon their lips were close and when they were about to meet-"
Soon from out of nowhere, Pinkie came through the door and shouted, "HEY GUYS! What are you two doing out here? Don't you know there's a party going on in there?" Pinkie then grabbed them both and started dragging them back to the party.
As Hawke was being pulled, he thought to himself, "Why Pinkie? Why do you have to come at the wrong time?"
Guardian of Equestria - Rise of the Blue Sun Chapter 14 A Gala Never To Forget
It was four days before the Grand Galloping Gala and Hawke, Spike, and the mane six were getting ready for it. Except there was one problem.
"LOOK OUT!"
A giant dog-like creature was running across Ponyville's streets and it was dragging Hawke along by his leg in its mouth. The creature was going through the houses and buildings of Ponyville and was causing massive damage to the town. Hawke was trying to get free from the creatures mouth, but the creature had a good hold on him and it was hard for him to cast his magic with him being dragged across the ground and bumping his head rocks that were on the ground weren't helping either.
As Hawke was being dragged, he looked up and saw Rainbow Dash carrying Applejack by her arms.
"Alright Dash, get me close enough to thet varmint!" Applejack said to Rainbow Dash.
"You got it A.J," Rainbow Dash replied with a smirked smile.
Dash was close enough to the ground and dropped Applejack there. When Applejack landed, she quickly got out her lasso, twirled it around, and threw it at the creature. The end of the rope caught the creature leg and Applejack pulled on it hoping that it would stop it. But unfortunately, the creature instead pulled Applejack on to the ground and she was being dragged on the ground too while she was holding on to her rope. Rainbow Dash saw what was happening and quickly went to help the two. Dash went in front of the creature's face and was sticking her tongue at it.
"Hey there mutt, bet you can't catch me!" Dash said mocking it.
The creature let out a growl and soon let go of Hawke and started to chase Dash around snapping its jaws at her. Hawke quickly got up stretching his back for a moment and saw the creature chasing Rainbow Dash around and Applejack being dragged along. He used his levitation spell to get the rope off the creature, so Applejack wouldn't be dragged anymore. When Applejack stopped being dragged around and let out a sigh of relieve. Hawke then levitated Applejack's lasso and use his teleportation to appear on top of the creature. He quickly spun the lasso around and wrapped it around the creature's muzzle and pulled on it. The creature was struggling and tried to fight back, but it was defenseless against Hawke and there was noway for it to fight back. Dash saw an opportunity to take out the creature and went for it at top speed. She soon used an uppercut punch on the it and it soon fell on its back with Hawke on it. The creature was knocked out and Hawke was trapped under it.
Hawke was letting out a grunt sound and said, "Somepony, please get this thing off me."
Dash helped Applejack get on her hooves and they both soon started pushing the creature off of Hawke. Applejack lent her hand towards Hawke and asked, "Are ya okay, partner?"
Hawke looked up at Applejack and replied, "Yeah, I'm alright A.J." He grabbed on to Applejack's hand and she pulled him up on his feet. "I've been through worst then that."
"I bet."
"Did you guys see me do that? I was like so awesome when I punched that dog," Dash said praising her own work.
"Yeah, yeah we saw that," Hawke said rolling his eyes around. "What I can't believe is that Pinkie was right about there being a monster that would come attacking the town today."
"That's Pinkie for you. She makes the impossible even more impossible," Dash commented.
"Yeah, that's true. So I guess Applejack and I need to get back to the farm right?" Hawke asked looking over to Applejack.
"Usually we would, but remember thet Rarity wanted us ta come by her boutique today so she can get us all ready for th' Gala tonight," Applejack explained.
"Oh yeah, that right. Can't believe I forgot about that," Hawke said.
"Well we better get going then. We don't want Rarity to throw a fit for being late," Rainbow Dash pointed out.
The trio then made their way towards Rarity's boutique.
In the shadow lands,Tirek and his forces of darkness are preparing themselves for the coming of the prophecy. His army was increasing with nothing more then murderers, thieves, traitors, mercenaries, and assassins. Including the monsters and abomination that were made from ponies who willing transformed themselves to serve their dark master. Tirek was outfitting himself with heavy plated armor and was wielding his powerful two-handed axe.
Coming by Tirek's side was Monnark and he spoke to his master. "My lord, everything is proceeding as scheduled."
"Excellent. Soon when the red moon rises, I will rule this world and the blue sun warrior will be crushed under my hooves," Tirek said with much anticipating. "Are you and your agents ready for their assignments?"
"Yes, my lord. We are prepared and our newest recruit is ready to do his job," Monnark replied.
Tirek and Monnark then turned their attention to a figure who was leaning against the walls in the shadows.
"Are you prepared for this, young Vulture?" Tirek asked knowing the figure's response would be.
"I'am and thanks again for saving my skin and giving me a better name then my last one. Don't know what came over me about that." The figure then came out of the shadows and revealed himself to be the evil clone of Hawke that was formally known as Spellfury. "That no good wimp is going to pay for what he did to me last time."
Tirek let out a small laugh. "Don't worry about it, Vulture. You will have your revenge soon enough and as I promise, you will have all of his mare friends to yourself."
Valture let out a wicked laugh and showed a smirked smile. "Oh the fun I'm going to have with them."
They all laughed evilly and waited patiently for what is to come next.
After four days had passed, it was early in the morning and everypony and Hawke were at Rarity's boutique getting ready for the gala. The girls were in the mares only room, while Hawke and Spike waiting for them outside of the room.
Spike gave out an annoyed groan and said, "What's taking them so long? We've been here for hours!"
Hawke furrowed his eyebrow and replied, "Spike, it's been fifteen minutes."
"Well yeah, but we got done checking our suits out only in a few minutes. It shouldn't take them that long," Spike explained.
"*Sigh* Spike you should learn by now is that girls....well I mean mares, like to take time with their dresses and they like to make guys....I mean colts.....or dragons, like us, to wait for a while.........a very long while. Besides, we can leave you know."
"What? And miss the chance to see Rarity in all her beauty? I think not, I'll stay here no matter what," Spike replied.
"You are one, sad, little dragon, you know that right?"
"Hey! I like Rarity a lot, okay? And besides, aren't you curious about what Twilight would look like?"
Hawke ponder on it and thought what Twilight would look like in a dress. He never did see her as the 'dressing up always' kind of girl, but more like wearing all kinds of magicians robes and sometimes wearing different librarians outfits. Now that he was thinking about it, he imagined her in a tight, white shirt that revealed her cleavage a bit, wearing a short, purple skirt with her cutie mark on the side, having on long and black socks, and holding to a ruler while she was wearing glasses. He would imagine her walking up to him and saying, "You've been late with your studies, Mr.Gregory. I would have to..."
"HAWKE!"
"WAH!" Hawke panicked and stumbled on to the ground. He looked up to Spike and asked,"WHAT?"
"I was just asking if you were curious about what Twilight would look like and you just spaced out," Spike explained.
"Oh, Eh, I was deep in thought. Anyways, yes you make a good point."
"........What excatly were you thinking about?" Spike asked out of curiosity.
"Eeehhhh"
In the dressing room, the girls were getting all their manes brushed, picking out there dresses, and applying some make up as well.
Dash let out a sigh and asked, "Why do we have to do this so early, can't we just wait until this afternoon?"
"Dash dear, these things take time and we’re going to need it to look absolutely fabulous for tonight," Rarity answered.
"I hope everything does go well tonight and hope that nopony recognize us from last year as well," Applejack said.
"Oh! I really hope so; I don’t want to be stared at all night long. Just thinking about it is making me nervous," Fluttershy said beginning to curl up into a ball.
"I wouldn't worry about it deary. We did just get there and left before anypony could get a good at us. And Besides that, we're going to make ourselves look different and look even more fabulous then last year," Rarity said to clam Fluttershy down.
"I don’t know about that, but we did learned our lesson from last year and this time we’re going to just stay in pairs to watch each other’s back so nothing bad happens again," Twilight pointed out.
"I know what you mean, last year I was the only one who wanted to party, but the other ponies wouldn’t and I was alone, but now I’ll have someone with me to partaaaaaaaaaay," Pinkie said with excitment.
"I know, I can’t wait for tonight," Twilight said with a smile.
"Is it because there's a certain hero, that’s going to be your partner tonight? Applejack said and gave Twilight a wink.
Twilight blushed and replied, "Ummm...well...yes, it'll be Hawke's first time in Canterlot and since I've use to live there, I thought I would be more suited to show him around."
"Sure that's the only reason why you're his partner," Dash said. "And I bet you're not going to take him somewhere around the castle alone in, Oh I don't know, the gardens were you can have him all to yourself." Dash elbowed Twilight a couple of times.
"WHAT! NO! That's...not what I was planning at all," Twilight quickly said. 'How did she know what I was planning? *Sigh* Good thing I have a backu-.'
"Or that you can take him up to one of the tallest towers in the castle where hardly anypony would go to."
'OH COME ON!'
"Or leave the castle early and go to a fancy restaurant."
'SHUT UP!'
"And....um.........maybe sneak into the janitor's closet?"
"Why would they sneak into the janitor's closet?" Applejack asked with a furrowed expression. "That isn't exactly the most romantic thing ever."
'A.J. has a point there. Why would I even think of that? Wait, I think I can ask the Pirncess to-'
"Um...well, then what about asking Princess Celestia to use her private garden?" Fluttershy spoke up. "I mean, Twilight is Celestia's student and I'm sure that she wouldn't mind it."
'NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! ARE ALL MY PLANS THAT PREDICTABLE?'
It was finally nighttime and everypony and Hawke were being escorted by the royal guards that Celestia had sent to bring them to the gala. The girls were in one carriage, while Spike and Hawke were in another. After sometime had passed, they finally made it and they soon were leaving their carriages. When Spike and Hawke got out of their carriage, they looked over to see where the girls were and their jaws soon fell when they saw them. The girls were in very different and wonderful designs that matched each of their personality.
Pinkie's dress was pink with blue stripes while the it had candy shaped designs on it. Dash's dress had multiple colors on it that represented her mane and wore a necklaces that had the shape of a lightning. Fluttershy's dress represented her fondness for nature and it was colored in lime. Applejack wore a cowgirl style dress that had the colors of both brown and green, while she was wearing a apple shaped necklace. Rarity's dress was a light red color with a small violet cape. Twilight's dress was a azure color that had white shaded stars on the bottom of it and she wore a small four-pointed crystal star that looked just like Hawke's mark.
Spike was admiring Rarity's dress the most, as well as Rarity herself. Hawke however was looking at Twilight's dress and was amazed at how good she looked. At that very instance he could have sworn that he stopped beating. He would have died a very happy death, but he really wanted to spend this night with Twilight........alive as possible.
Twilight was looking back at Hawke and she couldn't believe what she was looking at. He was absolutely handsome in her eyes. Hawke was wearing a white tuxedo with his symbol on the left shoulder and the gauntlets that Princess Luna gave to him matched well with his suit. What was more shocking to her was his hair was combed. She would have problems getting him to comb his hair and he would always reply with 'Nah, I don't think it's that bad.' or with 'Sorry, but this is all natural and I don't want to get in trouble with nature.' and one time he said, 'SERIOUSLY? YOUR COMPLAINING ABOUT MY HAIR WHILE WE'RE FIGHTING A MONSTER?!?'......Twilight always wondered why she brought it up during that fight.
Twilight then went up to Hawke and said, "I see you like my dress."
"Yes, I like it very much. It looks good on you," Hawke replied. 'Oh god, she looks so incredibly hot in that.'
"I'm glad you like it. I like the way your looking," Twilight commented. 'Oh Celestia, he looks so amazing in that suit.'
They both stared at each other intensively for a long while, until Dash rolled her eyes and snapped her fingers in front of the two to get their attention. "So, are we going to go or do we have to wait here for you two until you both stop ogling each other?" she asked.
Twilight blushed and turned away from Hawke, while he tried to hide away his blushing face.
"Come on now everypony, we better get going if we don't want to miss anything," Rarity said and started making her way.
Spike closely followed Rarity and the others were soon behind her. Hawke looked over at the embarrassed Twilight and asked, "Ready to go, my lady?" He then offered up his arm.
Twilight looked at him with a warm smile and replied, "Very much, good sir." She grabbed onto his arm and they started making their way.
Everyone got to the main entrance of the castle and entered. Hawke couldn’t believe what his was seeing, it was truly magnificent, the decorations were flawless, it had a beautiful garden out of the windows, and the halls were filled with dozens of noble ponies. They were walking around the many hallways of the castle and on their way they soon came upon on some stairs. Up on the top level of the stairs were Princess Celestia and Princess Luna greeting many of the guests and nobles.
The Princesses saw them and walked over to the party. Celestia walked up to Twilight and Hawke with smile on her face. "Hello my little ponies, it is good to see you all"
"Yes, tis good to see all of you again," Luna said with a smile. "I'm glad to see that your wearing the gift that I gave you."
"Yes I am, your majesty. Thanks again for giving me these gauntlets," Hawke said.
"Of course, Sir Hawke. If you ever need anything from me or my sister, we well be able to help out," Luna said.
"Well then I hope you all have fun soon. We’ll meet again later tonight after me and my sister attend to the guests and prepare everything for the announcement," Celestia said.
"As you wish, your majesty," Twilight replied with a bow. Everyone else then bowed to the princesses and continued making their way.
The group continued to walk until they entered into the ball room and saw that it was packed with mares and colts. Everywhere they looked; it was nothing but nobles, royalties, and politicians.
Applejack spoke up and said, "Well Ah'll be, this place is a lot more crowed then last year."
"I know, there's so many here. It's making me nervous," Fluttershy said nervously.
"Aw, don't worry about it Fluttershy. More ponies means more fun!" Pinkie said.
"I'm more interested in seeing the Wonderbolts. I hope they remember me," Dash said looking around for the Wonderbolts.
"I'm sure that the Wonderbolts would be around here. In the meantime, I hope to see Mr. Fanctpants around here. He said that he would let me meet some of the best designers from Manehatten. *Squeel* I can't wait!" Rarity said with enthusiasm.
"Okay girls, I know your all excited and all, but remember we're all need to stay in groups of two, so we would make sure that nothing bad happens like last year and I don't want it to happen again. Now I know we have somethings to do here, but we need to remember that we're friends and we have to-" Twilight looked around for a moment and saw that all the girls and Spike were gone. "Hawke, where did they all go?"
"I'm not one hundred percent sure, but I think Pinkie and Fluttershy went over to where the desserts are, Rarity went to find Mr. Fancypants......if that's really his name and Spike followed her, and Dash went to find the Wonderbolts, while Applejack followed her to make sure she doesn't cause any trouble......also A.J. went along to meet with the Wonderbolts' supplier so she could sell her apples to them," Hawke explained.
"Why didn't they at least listen to the rest of what I had to say?" Twilight asked.
"Do you want the truth or the brutally honest truth?"
".......What's the difference?" Twilight asked furrowing her eyebrow.
"The truth is the truth with some slight modification from it and the brutally honest truth is the truth in complete detail," Hawke explained.
"......Okay, now I want to know. What is the brutally honest truth?"
"You talk too much."
"That's it?!"
"Pretty much, yeah."
Twilight groaned.
Hawke looked around and saw a dance floor where there were couples dancing and had an idea.
"Would you like to dance with me?" Hawke asked Twilight.
Twilight smiled and replied, "Yes, I would be honored."
Before they went to dance, a familiar voice shouted out to Twilight and when she looked to see where it was she saw her brother, Shining Armor and his wife, Princess Cadance , including her mother, Twilight Velvet and her father, Night Light. Twilight then pulled Hawke towards them and went to meet with them
Twilight let go of Hawke's arm and hugged her big brother. "Shining! I didn't know that you were coming gala."
"We got invited to the gala months ago. I thought about letting you know about it, but I didn't think you would care after what happened last year," Shining explained.
Twilight blushed. "Yeah, we decided to come anyway. Cadance, it so good to see you again," Twilight said and went to hug her favorite foalsitter.
Cadance returned the hug and said,"It's good to see too, Twilight."
"How's my brother been treating you?"
"*Sigh* He drives me crazy sometimes," Cadance said and looked over to Shining. "But I guess that's why I married him." She leaned over to him and kissed him on the lips.
Twilight giggled and said, "Well, that's good to hear."
After Velvet was done listening to her children, she looked over to the mysterious stallion...or whatever it was that was standing next to Twilight. She looked over to Twilight and asked, "Twilight, who is this handsome young colt here?"
"Oh right." Twilight pulled Hawke closer to them and replied, "Everypony, this is Hawke. He came to Ponyville a few months ago."
Night Light furrowed his eyebrow. "He looks a bit different from any other pony. Why is his ears like that? And how come his hooves don't look like....well hooves?"
"Well, that's because I'm a human. I'm not exactly from around here," Hawke answered.
"Aw yes that’s right; Princess Celestia did mention you one time. I’m Shining Armor, Captain of the Guards and this is my wife Princess Cadance, ruler of the Crystal Empire."
Hawke furrowed his eyes with interest. "The Crystal Empire? I didn't know there was another kingdom nearby."
"Well, it recently became part of Equestria and we were fighting monsters the whole time," Twilight replied. She paused for a moment, until a thought had occurred. "Wait, didn't I gave you a book about it?"
"Eeehhhh." Hawke looked up to the ceiling and thought about it.
Hawke was cleaning his house as usual. As he was cleaning, he saw a pile of books on his table. He looked at the cover and it said 'Tales of the Crystal Empire.' Hawke said himself, "Nah, maybe another time."
A couple of weeks had passed and Hawke was wanting to do something. He looked over his bookshelf and saw the book again. As he was about to grab it, his front door opened wide and Pinkie shouted, "I HAVE THE GREATEST IDEA EVER!"
"What is it?"
"Okay, but you're going to have to sit down for this one because it's long and it involves a lot of balloons!"
Hawke gave out a sigh and grabbed one of his chairs. "Okay Pinkie, let's hear it."
Hawke was getting his outfit together and was ready for another day of adventure. He walked over to his door and pause for a moment. He looked over to his table and saw the book with a sticky note that he wrote and it said 'Don't forget to read this.' He looked at it for a moment and said to himself, "Maybe I should read it, in case somet-"
*CRASH*
"WHAT THE-"
It was the same dog-like creature that attacked Hawke four days ago. It grabbed Hawke by the leg with its jaws and it dragged him away towards Ponyville.
"Hawke, are you okay?" Twilight asked Hawke.
"Huh?" Hawke came out of his daze and looked at Twilight. "What?"
"Hawke, you blanked out for a moment there what's wrong?"
"Oh nothing, just remembering.....stuff."
"Okaaay? So what happened to the book?"
"It's still at the house......what's left of it anyway."
"Wait, what happened to your house?" Velet asked with concern.
"It got destroyed by one of the monsters that's been attacking Ponyville," Hawke answered with a straight face.
"WHAT?!"
Before anyone else could say anything, trumpets were being blown and everypony looked to see both Princess Celestia and Princess Luna walking in. They continued to walk by the guest and went up to a nearby stage. Princess Celestia went up to a microphone and said, "Mares and gentlecolts, it is a honor for you all came here, I wanted to thank everypony for coming here tonight, but tonight is something to be remembered for this occasion, for today is but one week of the red moon to rise up."
Everypony started clapping their hands together at this news, but it was stopped when Celestia continued to say, "I fear though it’s not something to celebrate, for the signs of the prophecy of the blue warrior and the red tyrant are coming true."
Everypony were gasping at the news and they soon started whispering.
"Yes it is true, the final parts of the prophecy are coming, but we should not fear it, for the blue sun has made his appearance to us a few months ago. I can tell you right now, that he is a capable warrior and has lived up to the legends. He does not fear the coming darkness and that he is confident that he will win us the day and lead us into a new age of peace and happiness. I present to you….. Hawke, the Blue Sun, defender of Ponyville, and the new protector of Equestria."
Everypony started clapping with excitment. Hawke took that as his cue to walk up to stage. He walked up to the stage, waved at the crowed, and went to bow to Celestia. There were whispers of Hawke about how he looked different and such. Hawke walked up to the microphone.
Hawke cleared his throat and said, "Ponies of Equestria, I am honored to be here today; I would first like to say-"
Before he said anything else, a series of windows were being crashed through all over the room and heavily armed, hooded ponies started appearing out of nowhere and started scaring the crowds. The guards tried to stop them but were overwhelmed by the confusion and were knocked out one by one. Then a huge explosion came from the side of the building, when the smoked cleared a group of unicorns in dark robes came through.
Among them was no other than Monnark himself. "Oh please go on. I would like to hear the rest of your speech," he said.
"Monnark! What you doing here in Canterlot?" Celestia shouted.
"I thought I would stop by and see the fable hero that I heard some much about."
"I thought you had left these lands a long time ago."
"Sister, who is this Monnark?" Luna asked.
"He was once a royal scholar for me once, but he soon dabbled in dark magic and started sacrificing others to gain power. Before I could do anything, he left with many ponies who followed him and hadn't showed his face in years," Celestia answered.
"Until now," Monnark said. "so would you be so kind as to hand over the hero. We would just like a moment of his time."
"I think I'm fine right here if you don't mind," Hawke said.
Monnark then said, "Oh, but you will. You don’t want these good ponies to get hurt do you?"
Hawke looked around to see that many of the hooded assassins were holding some of the ponies hostages.
"And there is someone here who wanted to see you so badly," Monnark said.
"Who would-" Before Hawke could finished, he was shot in the back by a red energy that sent him towards the ground and smashed on top of a table. He was in intense pain and when he looked back to see who it was, his pupils shrunk when he saw who it was.
"Spellfury?!"
The former Spellfury laughed and said, "Not anymore, the name's Vulture now and I'm here to repay you for what happen last time."
"That's not....wait...you changed your name to Vulture?"
'Yes. Why would you ask?"
"Nothing, I just think that's a better name then Spellfury. And it makes sense, since my name is Hawke and yours is Vulture and they're both types of birds-"
"REALLY?! YOU'RE DOING THIS NOW?!?" Twilight shouted.
"Right sorry, where was I? Oh right, That's not going to happen, Vulture! 'I still think that's a cool name.' If you want to go another round then bring your A game," Hawke said. He got up and stood into a battle stance.
Vulture smiled. "Oh I am, but there's a catch. You can't resist, if you do these ponies die."
Hawke was shocked to hear this and looked back at the hostages. The assassins had their blades across the necks of the hostages. He quickly looked back at Vulture only to see a flash of energy hit him in the face and sending him flying back. Hawke soon found himself sliding across the floor and slammed against the deserts table. Hawke was feeling dazed, in pain, and covered in pastries. Vulture walked up to him, grabbed him by his collar, and raised him up in the air.
Vulture let out a laugh. "What's it like to be defenseless? I bet this is what it was like against all those you've killed."
Hawke was struggling to speak. "I don't kill anymore. Not now, not ever"
"That's what I'm counting on." Vulture said flinging Hawke across the room against a wall. He started walking slowly towards Hawke. "I'm surprised that you haven't been able to kill anything for a long time. I can't see why you would stop, especially with the part where you have the power to take a persons life away," he said. "It must kill you to hold back all that power, while all the ones you love get hurt." Hawke tried to get up, but Vulture soon kicked him in the stomach causing him to fall back down. Vulture knelt down next to him and whispered, "But I wonder, what would you do if someone started to hurt your precious, Twilight?"
Hawke froze up for a moment as he was looking at the ground. He started shacking as the thought someone hurting Twilight or worse would happen. He looked up towards Vulture and said, "If you ever touch her-"
"You'll do what? I know you better then you think. You wouldn't so easily throw away people lives just to save one girl. I thought about killing in so many ways, but I thought of something different. What if, now stay with me on this, what if I just hurt and kill all the ones you love just to make you feel miserable? And what if you were completely helpless to do anything about it? Now look at this scenario here, if you to stop me or any of my friends here, we kill the hostages. But if you do nothing, I get to hurt, kill, or maybe something more horrible to your friends and love ones and both know you wouldn't let me do that. So what's it going to be, hero?"
Hawke was speechless. For a long time he didn't know what to do. If he did anything, lives would be lost and it would be all his fault. He didn't want this, he didn't wanted it to be like this. Hawke was deep in thought, conflicted with what to do. Part of him wanted to stop Vulture and the assassins from hurting Twilight, Spike, their family, and the girls. But if he did that, all those innocent ponies would be killed in seconds. Another parted of him wanted to just pray to god and beg Vulture not hurt anyone or anypony, but he know his dark side well. Vulture would just enjoy the sound of him begging and pleading for him not to do anything while he was doing it. All hope seemed lost for him, a sick twist of fate, and the world was against....until a voice shouted out.
"ENOUGH OF THIS FOOLISH GAME!" Luna shouted out with rage.
Vulture looked back at her and said, "Stay back, pansy-ass princess or I'll-"
"YOU'LL DO NO SUCH THING! GUARDS, NOW!"
Then the hostages turned out to be guards under disguises and over powered their captives. It quickly turned into a battle that was waged in the room, blades crossing, magic spells being cast, and hand to hand combat. The Monnark’s men were highly trained assassins and warlocks, but the guards were ready and the Wonderbolts join in the fight as well. The mane six and Spike joined the fight as well and gave it everything they got. Spike was holding off some of them with his fire, Rarity used her magic and some fabrics to hold tie them down, Rainbow Dash swooped in and out on each disciple as fast as she could, Applejack used her rope to wrangle up some of the warlocks and assassins in, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy were throwing cake at them and Fluttershy was saying sorry each time she threw one, Twilight used her magic to protect the nobles from the battle. Vulture was caught off guard from the battle and when looked back at Hawke, all he saw was a blue flash of energy in his face and was sent flying throw the air.
"How does it feel now?!" Hawke shouted his remark.
Vulture came crashing down on to the ground unconsciousness. Monnark saw that their first plan didn't work, so he brought plan two with him. He soon found himself facing off against Hawke. Hawke threw an energy ball at Monnark, but he used a force field to protect himself and drew out a sword. Monnark was swing towards Hawke with his blade, but Hawke dodged each one. Shining Armor threw a sword at Hawke and he grabbed it. Their blades then met with one another, Hawke wasn't good with swords, but used what he can to stop Monnark. They used both their blades and magic to gain the upper hand on one another. Hawke was able to grabbed one of Monnark’s hands. He used his electric power to use on Monnark and he was in searing pain. Monnark fell over to the ground and Hawke pinned him to the ground. The fight soon stopped with everypony looking over to where Monnark and Hawke were.
"Surrender now! It's over," Hawke said.
Monnark smiled. "Oh! But it's not over yet."
Hawke was confused and didn't understand what Monnark meant. He quickly grabbed a sharp crystal and got free from Hawke, and then he stabbed the crystal in to Hawke’s chest. Everypony was in horror of what they were seeing. The crystal was glowing and slowly turning blue; it was taking Hawke’s magic away from him. When it was done, Monnark took the crystal out of his chest and Hawke fell over and the hole in his chest quickly disappeared.
Monnark laugh with triumphantly. "Fools! Now you see how great our master is and how weak your hero is. We have the power of the blue sun, now nothing well stand in our way."
Monnark used smoke to quickly disappear and his disciples did the same as well and disappeared.
Hawke was in agonizing pain from where the crystal was. Twilight and the others quickly went over to him and tried to help him with his pain.
Celestia shouted out, "Quickly, we need doctors here NOW!"
Some of the guards saluted and quickly left to seek help.
Twilight saw leaned next Hawke and shouted, "HAWKE! PLEASE STAY WITH ME, YOU'RE GOING TO BE OKAY!
Despite Twilight’s words, he wasn’t getting any better. The pain was being too unbearable and he couldn't stop screaming. Then all of a sudden he started to lost his breath and stopped moving on the ground. He laid there motionlessly.
Twilight started tearing up and shouted, "NO! NO! PLEASE DON'T DIE, HAWKE! PLEASE DON'T DIE!"
Guardian of Equestria - Rise of the Blue Sun Chapter 15 Beginning of the End - Part 1
Almost one week had passed since the gala and the rising of the red sun was tomorrow. The ponies in all of Equestria were in fear. Streets were emptied in every city, homes were quiet, and all hope seemed lost. The news of the Hawke’s defeat quickly spread and he was still in a coma. Things looked grim for Princess Celestia, her once happy kingdom was in fear and it didn't seem like no one was coming to help. Over the few months since Hawke came, Celestia had been preparing her armies for the coming battle. She had hoped that Hawke would have helped led her forces against the coming darkness. But now that he was still in a coma, it seemed that she was on her own to lead her army into battle. They could have at least used the elements of harmony on their side, but during the attack on the gala Monnark had some of his best thieves to sneak in during the fight and stole the elements.
Celestia looked down from her balcony and saw that her army was ready to march. Despite all that was happening, she still needed to be a leader now more than ever. Her people needed her, her soldiers needed her, and her sister needed her. She had to stand strong and give everything that she's got. No matter what the prophecy would say, she will still fight until to her last breath. She spoke up and said to her soldiers, "I know that many of you are scared of what is to come next, but we must not be afraid now. Right now a dark force is coming upon us and we are going to do everything we can to stop it. We must protect our homes from this evil thing and defend those that we love. I know what I’m asking is too much, but we must march off into battle if we have to have any hope to survive. Our scouts have found out where Monnark and his master are hiding and we must take the advantage while we still can. So let us march and hope that we can end this without evil winning and taking everything we hold dear. Let us go and drive them back to the pits of fire from where they once came and do our best to bring back peace and happiness back to our land."
The guards then cheered for their princess speech and started marching to the Shadow lands, but Princess Celestia wasn't confident on how the battle may turn out. Still, they needed to do this if they have at least a chance to save their world.
Princess Luna came flying to her sister's balcony in heavy armor. Her armor was the color of the night sky with a black cape and had her cutie mark on the back. "Sister, are ride is ready?" she asked.
"Very well," Celestia said. Her horn soon glow with radiant light and in a flash she was in a set of gold armor with silver details on it. Her cape was pure white with the symbol of her cutie mark on the back. "Are Twilight and her friends still with Hawke?"
"Yes sister, Twilight hasn't left his side for days now. Her friends are doing everything they can to help her," Luna answered.
"It is a tragedy of what happened to him. He was a young colt who was gifted in many ways and was given everything that anypony could ask for. Only to be taken by those who would want nothing more than to make others suffer for their amusement. We can only pray that he can recover soon and that everything would soon return to normal."
"I fear that may not happen."
"So do I, sister. So do I"
Sometime had passed since Celestia and Luna had left with the army. In one of the castle's chambers, Twilight sat next to where Hawke laid in his bed. For days, she hadn't left his side, barely slept, haven't eaten much, and wept from time to time. Her friends had told her that everything was going to be alright and that Hawke would soon come to, but in her heart she knew that they were only saying that to help her feel better. The only thing that she wanted right now was him. She wanted to hear his voice again, to spend time with again, for him to hold on to her with his warm, gentle arms, and to even hear him make a ridicules comment that would have irritate her to no end. She looked at him with soulless eyes. She then felt a hand on her shoulder and she turned to see Applejack with Spike.
"Twi, ya need to get some sleep," Applejack said. "You're not feeling well and staying here isn't going to help."
"I'm fine A.J. I just-"
"Twilight, please" Spike interjected. "You haven't slept, ate, or done anything for the last few days. I'm worried about Hawke too, but being like this isn't going to help."
Twilight looked into her assistance's worried eyes. She knew that Spike wasn't taking this as well, seeing Hawke as a friend who he can relate to. She gave out a sigh. "Alright, I'll....try to get some sleep."
"Ah'm glad to hear it and Ah'll bring you something to eat after your done sleeping," Applejack said.
Twilight simply nodded. Before she left the room, she took one more look at Hawke. Under her breath she said, "Please come back to me."
The army of Equestria continued marching forward towards the bad lands, seeking out the dark master's hideout. Battalions of pegasi soldiers were flying up in the air keeping watch out for any signs of the enemy, while both earthponies and unicorns were marching side by side towards their destination. In the front of the advance army were Princess Celestia and Princess Luna leading the forces on a magic chariot.
They were marching through a large cannon and as they were moving, they started hearing noises from various creatures that no pony has ever heard from before. The army then entered into a large flat, plain field and saw another army on the other side near a mountain that was made to look like a fortress. The other army was made up of assassins, ex-soldiers, murderers, thieves, and among them were more horrible monsters. Then on top of a stone was standing Lord Tirek and Monnark.
Celestia used her 'traditional' Canterlot voice and shouted, "I WISH TO SPEAK WITH YOUR LEADER!"
Lord Tirek heard and accepted this. He walked forward and head towards Celestia and she flew towards him. They met in the middle of the field with both armies ready to strike one another.
"I am Princess Celestia, who are you?" she asked.
"I am Lord Tirek, soon to become the new ruler of Equestria!" he said.
"Lord Tirek? I have heard of you before. It was said that you once tried to take control of everything in ancient times, until a group of ponies used the early powers of Harmony that was once called the Rainbow of light."
"Indeed, but now the time has come for me to take control again and I will destroy all that are in my way, unless you want to surrender?"
"Never! I will give up my ponies’ freedom to a demon like you," she said with a stern voice.
Tirek let out a laugh. "I was hoping you say that. Know this princess, blood will be spilt and your people will suffer greatly under my rule. And after this battle I will march to Canterlot and burn it to the ground with everypony in it."
"It will never come to that," she threatened.
"We shall see."
Tirek and Celestia then went back to their armies and ready themselves for battle. Tensions were rising, soldiers were tightening their grip, and they were grinding their teeth. At the same time Celestia and Tirek order their soldiers to charge. The armies started screaming and running towards one another; arrows were being shot in the air, magic spells were flying through the skies, and as the armies were about to collide….
Back at the castle, Spike was wetting Hawke’s towel that was on his head to keep it warm, while Applejack was looking out the window. As Spike was doing that, Hawke’s eyes was slightly opening up and started moaning. Spike and Applejack heard him, they both ran to the side of his bed, and said in unison, "HAWKE!?"
Hawke was grunting. "Yeah, that's....my name...don't wear it....out."
Applejack faceplamed herself. "Yep, he's okay."
"You're okay! Are you okay?" Spike asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine," Hawke replied slowly. "How long was I out?"
"For about a week," Applejack answered.
"And it's only a few hours until the red moon come!" Spike added.
"Great, so it wasn't a dream," Hawke said. " For once, can I wake up from a coma without any bad news that come with it?"
"Fraid not, partner," Applejack replied. "Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, went and took the army with them to find who it is and find their hideout. Princess Cadance and Prince Shining Armor went back to the Crystal Empire to gather their forces and come to help out.
"And Twilight hasn't been herself after what happened to you." Spike said.
Hawke focus was on Spike after he said that. "What do you mean? What happened to her?"
"She...she just hadn't slept or ate anything for the pass week. We were lucky that we were able to convince her to get any sleep right now," Spike explained.
"Twi stayed here with you the whole week, never leaving your side. It really tore her up of what happened to you," Applejack added.
Hawke just laid there in his bed, thinking of the girl he cared about in so much pain. He looked over to them and asked, "Where is she?"
"She's just two rooms down on the left," Spike answered. "Why?"
Hawke didn't answered, but instead he started to get up.
Applejack panicked and tried to hold Hawke down. "HOLD ON THERE, PARTNER! Ah know what you're thinking and I wouldn't recommend it."
"What with all the ruckus?" Rainbow Dash said before walking into the room. "I know you guys are worried, but-" When she saw that Hawke was awake her eyes widen and her jaw fell.
"Dash, why are you stopping in mid sentence?" Pinkie asked as she was walking in to the room. "It's not like stopping it would bring Hawke bac-" Her jaw fell when her eyes laid on Hawke. "OH CELESTIA! YES! YES! YES!" Pinkie stared bouncing around like crazy.
"What in heavens is going on?" Rarity asked and walked into the room. She covered her mouth and shouted, "HAWKE! YOU'RE OKAY!"
"Hawke?" Fluttershy walked into the room and saw that Hawke was awake. She couldn't speak because of the tears she was chocking on. She ran towards Hawke, pushed Applejack aside, and gave him a strong hug.
Hawke was in incredibility pain from the hug. He tried to speak up and said, "Fluttershy...ACK! It's good to...GACK! See you. Can you EHCK! Let go of me?"
Fluttershy realized that she was hurting Hawke and she quickly let go. She blushed and said, "Sorry Hawke, I was glad that you were alright."
"I know," Hawke said. He tried to straighten up his back from Fluttershy's hug and when he tried to do that...*CRACK* "OH GOD, MY SPINE!"
"Are you alright?" Spike asked with concern.
"Yeah, I'm fine I just......actually that helped quite a bit," Hawke replied with a furrowed face. "Thanks, Fluttershy."
"Oh....no problem?" Fluttershy replied in confusion.
Hawke then uncovered his sheets and started to sit up.
"Are ya sure that's a good idea?" Applejack asked.
"What would not be a good idea?" Rarity asked.
"He's trying to get back on his feet to see Twilight," Applejack answered.
"that is the most....romantic thing I have ever heard of in my entire!" Rarity said as she was having her hands together and fantasying the whole thing.
"RARITY!"
"What? Oh, sorry. I mean, Hawke you shouldn't do this. You're hurt and you need time to heal," Rarity said.
"Time we don't have," Hawke said bluntly. "With everything that's happening, I'm not sure if I can do anything now. But right now all I want is to spend with Twilight for a few minutes before I try to come up with anything. That's all I'm asking."
Everypony looked at each other deciding wither or not to let Hawke do this. They all nodded and Applejack said, "Alright, you win. Just go to her you stubborn mule."
Hawke gave out a smile. He started to stand up. At first his was beginning to wobble, but he stopped and tried to take a step forward. He tripped and fell flat on the floor on his face. While his face was still on the floor, he softly said, "Ow."
Twilight was lying on her bed trying to sleep. But all she did was stare at a wall, while she was still thinking about Hawke and how her homeland may fall without his help. She tried to think of the best solutions to end all this, but she knew the only one that could end all this was Hawke and he was laying in a bed motionless.
As Twilight was deep in thought, she heard the door opened. Without looking back, she gave out a sigh and asked, "Whoever it is, I just need to be alone right now, please." There wasn't an answer and Twilight was confused why anypony didn't answer. She then felt something sitting next to her and when she looked back. "Look please, I just-" Her eyes widen as she was looking at the one person she wanted to see in the entire world.
"Hawke?"
"Twilight."
Hawke was sitting next to a speechless Twilight (something he thought would never happened.) She reached out with her right hand and felt around Hawke's face. With a laugh, Hawke grabbed on to Twilight's hand and said, "It's okay, it's really me."
Twilight started tearing up. She hugged Hawke as tightly as she could and didn't let go. Hawke was tearing up too, but it was more of pain then it was of joy. But he didn't mind it (the best he could) and began hugging her back. After a moment of silences, Twilight said, "I thought I would never see you again."
"But didn't our friends tell me you were sitting next to me the whole week?" Hawke asked sarcastically.
Twilight let out a giggle and said, "You know what mean."
"Yeah, I know," Hawke admitted.
"The entire time that you were lying there.....my heart was broken. There was so much going on and there was nothing that I could have done. I tired to think of ways to help, but nothing I came up with worked. I can't even think of a way to help Equestria, at least not without you," Twilight said.
"I'm sure you would have thought of something. You're pretty much the most smartest girl I know. If anyon....I mean anypony would fix this, it's you," Hawke said as he was looking into Twilight's eyes.
Twilight looked back at Hawke into his eyes. Her heart was burning with joy and feelings that she can only experience whenever she's with him. She couldn't hold back her feelings anymore. She was sick of holding it back and was afraid that something would interrupt this moment. Without realizing it, she spoke up and said, "I love you, Hawke."
Hawke's eyes widen and was completely speechless. He didn't know what to say and even when he did, he still couldn't put it into words. Before he finally was able to comprehend the right words, Twilight pulled him closer and gave him a passionate kiss. Hawke's eyes widen even more and was at first confused by it, but he then embraced it and was enjoying it. It was something they wanted to do for a long time and they were glad to finally do it.
When their lips finally let go of each other, Hawke then said, "I love you too, Twilight."
Twilight gave out a smile and she rested her head on his shoulder. "We've been through a lot together haven't we?" she asked
"Yeah and it looks like we're going to go through a lot more," Hawke replied.
"I don't care. As long as I'm with you, that's all that really matters," she said smiling
"That's good to hear, cause now I came up with a plan," he said.
"Is it a stupid one?"
"The best there is."
"*Sigh* Then it'll work. What is it?"
With Twilight's help, Hawke made his way down towards the dungeon of the castle. When they both got there, they looked around the empty chambers until they found one that had something in it. The creature in question, looked up with his fiery eyes to see Hawke leaning on Twilight.
"Looks like you've finally came to. A bit too late I might add," said the creature.
"I can still save the day, Vulture," Hawke said.
The creature came out of the shadows of his chamber to reveal that it really was Vulture. He was captured by Celestia's guards after the battle while he was still unconscious by Hawke's attack. He had remained in the the chamber for the entire week all chained up and wore a collar that disabled his magical abilities. Surprisingly, he remained quiet the whole time he was locked up, but in his thoughts he knew that his new master would come to rescue him and burn the entire castle down. Even if his master didn't rescue him the thought that Hawke would somehow survive only to see the ones he love died, captured, or tortured would be enough for him.
Vulture leaned back and asked, "What do you want? Did you come down here to admit that I was right about killing being the better solution?
"No, I'm here to end this," Hawke replied.
Vulture furrowed his eyebrow. "What do you mean?" he asked.
"I've come to the realization that as long as your here, you would endanger all that I care and cherish. That as long as you live you would nothing but cause death and destruction and I can not stand by while you do," Hawke explained.
"So, you going to kill me then?"
"I told you once, I'm not going to rely on that."
"Then.....what are you going to do?"
"I'm sending you back where you came from."
Vulture was at first confused at what Hawke said. "Where I came from? What are you talking abo-" But a sudden realization came to him that caused him to widen his eyes. "Y-Your sending me back into you?!" he asked.
"Yes."
"WHAT, NO! I WON'T GO BACK, YOU PIECE OF ****!"
"Too bad. Twilight can you get the spell ready?"
"It'll just take a second," Twilight replied. "Are you sure about this? He's been outside of you for a long time and there's no telling what would happen if the spell doesn't work."
"Don't worry, I have a good feeling about this," Hawke said.
"YOU MOTHER******, I'LL RIP OUT YOUR HEART IN FRONT OF YOU! AND I'LL ENJOY TAKING MY TIME TORTURING YOUR LOVE ONES AND WHEN I'M DONE, I'LL GIVE THEM A SLOW AND PAINFUL DEATH! YOU ****HEAD!"
Twilight looked back at Hawke with a frighten face. "You're telling me that you have a good feeling about this?" she asked.
"Okay, I'll admit that I have a neutral feeling about this," Hawke replied.
Twilight rolled her eyes and started preparing the spell. She started chanting and started making moment with her hands.
"YOU WON'T WIN, ******! I'LL COME BACK STRONGER! I SWEAR WHEN I COME BACK, I'LL MAKE YOUR WORSE NIGHTMARES COME TRUE! I'LL HAUNT YOU FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE! AND I'LL-"
"Oh, would you SHUT UP! Hawke shouted.
Twilight was done chanting and suddenly her eyes were flashing with a bright light. She pointed her right hand at Vulture and a beam was shot from her. She then used her other hand at Hawke and the same happen. The beam that was shooting at Vulture was beginning to turn red and it soon started to go into Twilight. Then Hawke's beam began to turn red as well and it started to go into him. Twilight was having difficulty keeping the spell up and was causing her great pain to maintain it. Both of the different Hawkes started to whale in pain and the beam was being to go out of control. Before Twilight could do anything, a sudden flash of light came from both of the Hawkes and a wave of force pushed her against the wall. She blacked out for a moment and when she open her eyes there was nothing but smoke in the way. She quickly used her magic to clear away the smoke to see if Hawke was okay.
When the smoke cleared, Twilight looked to where Hawke was. Her eyes widen when she saw him. Hawke was standing up without anyone helping him and his body became more physically strong. His hair was now long just like his opposite, but it was now white with blue streaks in it and his was now blazing blue. The scares that he had collected over the months were gone including the scare where the crystal was. He looked around himself and said, "Holy crap. Twilight, can you believe this? It worked and I can't feel anymore pain in my body." He tried to see if he could use any of his magic, but it seemed that the spell was only able to give him a stronger version of his body and quickly healed it. "Doesn't look like I can use magic yet. Well, at least it's better then nothing, right Twilight?" He looked over to Twilight to see her jaw hanging and wasn't saying anything. He furrowed his eyebrow. "Ummm, are you okay?" he asked.
"Wel....uh....I....can't really......stop-" was all Twilight could say as she continued to stare at Hawke's new muscular body and loved his new hairstyle.
Hawke rolled his eyes and started snapping his fingers in front of Twilight. "Hey Twily, you can stare at me later. We have a world to save, remember?"
Twilight shook her head violently for a second and was blushing with bright crimson. "Uhhh, sorry got distracted by your..um.......body." was all she could say as she continue to stare back Hawke's body.
"Ooookay, I'm going to put something on before your eyes pop out," Hawke said.
"Eeeeeeeehhhhhh."
Hawke and Twilight's attention was soon back in the cell where Vulture was and he was lying on the ground motionlessly with his mouth wide open as drool was coming out. His body seemed to have gotten smaller and less muscular then it was before. His former fiery eyes was now a souless dark red color.
Hawke looked over to Twilight and asked, "What happened to him? Shouldn't he be back inside me?"
Twilight pondered about it for a moment and explained, "I believe that since he was away from your body for so long, he must have started having his own soul was magically being disconnected from you. But when we used the spell, we must have took what part of you was left that was still inside of him and cause him to lose most of his physical prowess and mind. So, right now we're only seeing him in his weaken state."
"......Will he recover?"
"To be honest, I hope not. But there is a fifty-fifty chance that he'll recover and he'll just be a weaker version of himself."
"We'll at least I don't have to worry about him for a while......again."
"Right, now what do we do?"
Hawke looked up in the air and made a heroic pose. "We go to war."
At the battle, in the Shadow lands, Tirek’s forces were pushing Equestia’s army back quickly and ruthlessly. The monsters were proving to be a force to deal with and the soldiers were no push over’s. Celestia and her sister, Luna were using their magic to stop the forces from doing anymore damage to their army, but there were too many to handle. The army was being pushed all the way back to where they came from, but every soldier and Wonderbolts were not going to retreat. They rather die, than coward before Tirek’s forces.
All seemed lost, until hones from the side of the cliffs were heard and the army of the Crystal Empire came into full view. Cadance then ordered her soldiers to fire arrows and magic at the dark army. One by one the soldiers and monster started falling down dead from the arrows and explosions caused by the magic the unicorns cast. Cadance went to see Celestia and said, "I’m sorry we’re late, Aunt."
"It alright, I’m glad that you were able to come," Celestia said.
Cadance then signal her husband, Shining Armor to lead the soldiers down into the fray. Shining then said, "FOR EQUESRTIA! CHARGE!"
The soldiers started going down from the cliffs and crashed against the dark army. The soldiers were able to overwhelm the dark forces and started pushing them back towards the fortress.
Tirek laughed and called out a second wave of soldiers and monsters. The battle was then at a stale mate neither side would let the other get past them and Celestia’s force started returning to the battle. Things were looking good for Equestria and the Crystal Empire armies. Celestia then said, "Don’t let your guards down, they may be waiting for something."
"Sister, the moon!" Luna shouted.
Celestia looked up and saw that the red moon was making it’s appearance and said to Luna, "Sister, can you slow the moon down?"
"No, I can’t. This is the one time were I don’t have to raise the moon. I don’t know why, but it seemed like it has magic of its own."
The red moon started rising and Tirek started laughing loud and proclaim to all, "TODAY THE PROPHECY WILL COME TRUE AND I WILL BE UNSTOPPABLE!"
Tirek then stated harnessing the power of the red moon and his body was transforming. He soon started to grow black horns and he was becoming bigger by the moment. He had become more powerful and started using his magic on the armies.
He called forth fireballs form the skies and they started striking on the ground where the Equestrian soldiers were. Celestia and Luna used they magic to create a giant force field over the army and it started hitting on it. They both couldn’t hold much more of it after each fireball was hitting on it. When the fireballs had stopped, Celestia and Luna stopped using their spells and were exhausted.
Tirek then used a magic shock wave on the ground and the earth started shaking, earthquakes were happening everywhere and the soldiers were either falling in ditches and open spots or were being thrown away by boulders coming out of the ground. When it stopped, every soldier was either wounded or missing. The battle wasn't looking so good and Tirek gloated, "IT’S OVER PRINCESSES, YOUR ARMIES ARE FALLING, YOUR ELEMENTS OF HARMONY ARE USELESS, AND WHERE IS YOUR HERO NOW! HAHAHAHAHA!"
"If you’re that concern about me, how about you look up."
Tirek was confused and looked up. He was horrified to see Hawke standing over the cliffs. Hawke then said, "Wow look at that. It’s not so often that you get to see a red moon."
"WHAT! HOW? YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BE IN A COMA!" Tirek shouted in confusion.
"Yeah, funny thing is, I like to sleep lot, but when there’s going to be a huge battle that determines the fate of the world, will how can I miss that."
"HA! IT DOSENT MATTER, I HAVE THE POWER AND THE ARMY IS BUT ALMOST WIPED OUT, SO YOU’RE ALL ALONE!"
"Really? You’re that sure?"
Right behind Hawke came Twilight, Spike, the rest of the girls, and then along the edges of the cliffs ponies started appearing. Tirek was looking and was shocked. It was everypony from Ponyville that came to help, as well other ponies that came from Canterlot and other parts of Equestria. Then Hawke continued to say, "You see-"
A few hours back at Canterlot, Hawke got done explaining his plan to the girls and Spike and they all shouted, "WHAT!?!"
Hawke turned his attention to a guard. "Guard, I need you to send word that I’m awake and I need everypony to bear arms and meet me at the Shadow lands."
"Sir?"
"Just do it. Tell the messengers that I need everypony to help me beat this; Equestria is going to be taken over if we don’t remind the people, that when united, we can stop anything that comes."
"Yes sir, right away," the guard said and immediately flew off.
"Girls, Spike we’re going to Ponyville to get some things."
"Like what?" Spike asked.
"My robes and an army to bring," Hawke replied
Later Hawke was able to grab his gear and was able to gather everypony at the town hall and said, "I know what I’m about to ask is too much, but now is not the time to fear. A great evil is about to take everything we love and cherish. We can’t just wait for to come. I know you heard I lost my magic since the Grand Gala, but I’m here to tell you….I don’t care. I’m still going to go. I’m going to march up there, alone if I have to, and I’m going to face this evil head on. I don’t care if there’s going to be an army in the way. I don’t care how stupid it sounds. I don’t care if I face against the devil himself. You know why? I’m afraid. But I’m not afraid of dying, I’m afraid that if I fail, I would leave everypony to suffer under that tyrant and lose those that I have loved. So, if you come with me, then come with because you want to protect your friends and family from this nightmare and that you would do whatever it takes to give hope to others and you won’t back down no matter what. So are you with me?"
Everypony cheered and started gathering all they needed to battle. All the other ponies in the other city had heard the news from the messengers and started gathering up and marching towards the Shadow Lands.
Back to where Hawke is now and said, "And that’s how we got here. Ponies are no longer afraid of you. We won’t let you take this land without a fight." Tirek was still shocked in fear that Hawke was able to gather an army so fast. Then Hawke continued to say, "look here, I don’t care who you are or what you want, but I’m not giving up this fight so easily. If you think taking my magic is going to keep me out of the fight, your wrong."
"Yeah if he’s not stepping down, then neither am I," Rainbow Dash said.
"We won’t let y'all destroy we pony folks work so hard to make," Applejack said.
"We're in this until the very end," Rarity said.
"After we're done, we're going to throw the biggest "We beat the super villain's butt" party EVER!!!" Pinkie Pie said.
"And we're not letting hurt all those animals as well," Fluttershy said.
"You've underestimated what friendship can really do. It can unite us together and help us face our fears together. No matter what you do to us, we will stay together until the very end," Twilight said.
"CUTIE MARK CRUSADERS, GO!"
"Ah thought Ah told ya girls to stay back home," Applejack said.
"What! And miss a chance like this, no way," Scootaloo said.
"Yeah, Ponyville is our home too," Applebloom
"We're not letting some meanie take our home," Sweetie Belle said.
"Sigh" Fine, but stay near an adult and stay away from the bad guys, okay?" Hawke said.
"OKAY!" the tree said in unison.
Hawke then unsheathe his sword that Twilight gave him and shouted, "CHARGE!"
Guardian of Equestria - Rise of the Blue Sun Chapter 16 Beginning of the End - Part 2
"CHARGE!" Hawke shouted, as he led everypony against Tirek's army.
Everypony was giving it their all and the fight was in their favor, as each member of Ponyville had their own unique skills.
"HEY THERE EVERYPONY!" Vinyl shouted rolling her bass in front of a bunch of confused soldiers.
"What is that thing?" one of the soldiers asked.
"Oh, it's nothing special, just my BASS CANNON!" Vinyl shouted and slammed her left hand on a large button on it, The bass transformed and fired a large wave of sound energy at the soldiers, sending them flying.
A group of them tried to overwhelm Zecora, but instead she blew a powder of poison joke at them and they started to feel weird and were having side effects from the poison. Some got smaller, some couldn't move at all, and their voices had changed.
Scootaloo was getting chased by one of the monsters, while she was in her scooter. The monster close to grabbing her, until her friends, Sweetie Belle and Applebloom pulled on each side of a rope and tripped the monster on top of a group of soldiers. The group celebrated, but was cut short when a monster leapt towards them. It was however, stopped by Big Mac when he punched it in the jaw and all he said was, "Eeeyup."
Derpy was throwing muffins at the soldiers and was blinding them. One of them even said that he was allergic to muffins and Derpy threw even more at him. While she was throwing them, a monster try to creep up behind her, until the boulder behind it came down, smashing it. It was Doctor Whooves, who used his sonic screwdriver on the boulder to weaken it. Derpy was happy and made out with the Doctor.
Bon Bon and Lyra worked together to take down a monster, by Lyra throwing Bon Bon at the stomach of the monster and kicked it.
Cheerliee was outnumbered by assassins and warlocks, but then she started using her kung fu skills to take them out. She made some them fly away with punches and used complex moves to knock them down on the ground. The rest ran away screaming for their lives.
Diamond Tia and her friend, Silverspoon were making fun of one of the assassins, while he was crying.
Octavia was using a staff to use on the soldiers and they were all being defeated by her. She used all kinds of moves to either disarm them and throw them up in the air.
Tirek couldn't believe what he was seeing. His army of darkness was being defeated by common ponies and they didn’t stand a chance. He saw Hawke making his way towards him and told Monnark to stop him.
Monnark quickly went off and headed towards Hawke. Hawke saw Monnark coming and prepared himself for the worst. Monnark tried to slash Hawke with his blade, but it missed and Hawke swung around with his blade. Monnark dodge it and try pushing Hawke back away from him. He then charged up a bolt of lightning and shot it at Hawke, but Hawke used his gauntlets to absorb the lightning. Monnark was caught off guard and shouted, "What? How is that possible?"
"I may not have magic, but these things do and I can also use them to deflect it back to the user as well" Hawke then shot back the lightning bolts at Monnark and he was intense pain and fell to the ground out cold.
Spike watched from a distance and saw the crystal Monnark used on Hawke; it was still glowing blue with his magic still in it. Spike try to tell Hawke that it was there, but Hawke continued towards Tirek before he had a chance to look at it.
Tirek couldn’t take it anymore. He started shooting large energy balls at him. Hawke saw them coming and took cover. When he had the chance, he started charging towards Tirek with everything he got. There were explosions all around him and was surrounded by soldiers, but Celestia and Luna started firing energy balls of energy of their own and struck against those who were in front of Hawke. But despite everything an explosion was right next to Hawke and it blew him away against the ground. Then Tirek swung his arm and a wave of energy hit Celestia and Luna and they fell to the ground.
Hawke’s ears were ringing and he barley heard anything. He tried getting on his feet, but was all dizzy from the explosion and could only get on his knees. When his vision had cleared, he saw Tirek about to throw another energy ball against him. Hawke tried to move but it was too late the ball was heading towards him. Before it hit him however, Twilight jumped in front of him and took the full blast. Hawke's eyes widen as she was pushed against him.
When Hawke came too, he quickly looked around to see Twilight wounded by the blast and went over to her. Horrified, he quickly went to her and held her tight in his arms. She was hardly moving and her breathing was slowing down.
"TWILIGHT, NO! OH GOD! PLEASE BE OK!"
Twilight softly gave a weak smile. "I’m fine… “Cough” … Really its fine."
"NO, NO THIS ISN'T FINE!" He contined to shout. He looked up into the sky. "OH GOD, PLEASE TELL ME WHAT TO DO!"
“Cough” …Hawke, before I go… “cough” … I have to … tell you something."
"TWILIGHT, NO! SAVE YOU’RE STRENGTH! YOU’RE GOING TO MAKE IT I PROMISE!"
"Hawke …I…I…la..lov-"
Twilight then shut her eyes and she stopped moving. Hawke was completely silent and couldn’t bear what had happened. For the first time, he knew what it was like to truly lose someone he knows and wished that he didn’t. He started crying and laid his forehead on Twilight’s. The world that he once knew had ended.
Tirek then laugh and said, "It seems like a waste, she was better off running away then saving you. She could have had a better life if you hadn’t come to this place and caused all this. HAHAHAHAHAHA!"
Hawke’s heart was aching with pain and he couldn’t bare it. He felt sadness, loneliness, regret, self-pity……and anger. He then laid Twilight down gently and looked at Tirek with anger. His eyes were being to blaze with blue fire. Tirek notice this and watched in horror of what is to come next. All of a sudden, Hawke was surrounded by streaks of blue flames and was becoming more and more wild. His wings came from his back and were glowing violently. Everypony and monster stopped fighting and saw what was happening. Hawke then lifted himself up from the ground and transformed his sword into a long blade with heavenly-like designs on it. He was soon in bright silver armor that covered his entire body and even wore a helmet that small bird-like wings on each side. Then he said, "Tirek! You time has come; this is the end of you, and your reign of evil. Prepare yourself."
Tirek was filled with fear and knew that this was the battle he tried to avoid. He couldn’t believe that Hawke was able to bring back his magic at will. Tirek then snapped out of it and said, "Very well then, if it’s a quick death you want, then I'll give it to you.
Tirek then summoned two blades in his hands and prepared himself for the battle of his life. The two started each other down, neither of them blinked, and both waited for a chance to take the other out. A pony stood back a bit and stumbled on some pebbles and it fell. When it landed; the two warriors started striking against one another with tremendous speed. Neither side was giving the other an edge over them. Sparks were coming from each time their blades crossed and it was getting more and more intense.
Celestia, Luna, and the mane 5 stayed with Twilight to to see if they could heal her.
"Is there any way to help her?" Rainbow Dash said frantically.
"Princess, is there anything that we can do?" Applejack asked.
Celestia thought about it and turned to the group. "There's is one way, with the power of the elements, you five might be able give some of your power to help rekindle her soul."
"Will it work?" Fluttershy asked.
"I don’t know, it depends on how strong the soul is. And I have no doubt that Twilight has more of strong soul than anypony else."
"You got that right," Pinkie said. "Twilight is pretty stubborn about everything and trust me, dying is one of them."
"Very well then, but we must hurry and find the element before it's to late."
"Princess Celestia!" Everypony looked behind at where that voice was and it was Shining Armor holding a box that had the elements in them. "I had some of my best ponies to sneak in and retrieve them. Can they really save my little Twily?"
"They will, I promise you."
The girls then formed in to a circle around Twilight and used the elements to heal her. The elements were glowing and started going into Twilight’s crown. In a couple of seconds, light was forming around and before anyone knew it Twilight started to breathe again. Everyone celebrated to see their friend alive again. Twilight slowly got up and said, "waa…wh…What happened?
"OH TWILIGHT, YOUR OKAY!" Pinkie shouted and was hugging on Twilight tightly. "We were afraid that you won’t going to make it and Hawke turn into like a super hero or something, and he started beating on that meanie that hit you with a ball made of energy, but then Celestia suggested we use the elements to help bring you back to live and your alive and I’m soooooooooooooo HAPPY that your okay."
"Wait, what about Hawke? Is he okay?"
"His more than ok, look." Pinkie pointed at where Hawke was and Twilight couldn’t believe it. Hawke had his powers back and he was winning.
Hawke used a giant fireball and threw it at Tirek. It missed and destroyed part of his fortress. Tirek then tried to slashed Hawke across the head, but he duck down and swiftly went behind him. Hawke grabbed Tirek's tail and started spinning him around and around, until he let go of Tirek causing him to slam down against the ground. Tirek tried to get up, but Hawke soon landed on top of him and slammed his feet on his chest. With anger still in his heart, he said, "This is the end, tyrant, any last words?"
"PLEASE, DON’T KILL ME! PLEASE!" Tirek pleaded.
Hawke look down at him with disgust. "You should have thought that a long time ago," he said.
Hawke raised his blade towards Tirek, Twilight tried to say something, but Celestia stopped her and said, "No Twilight, it’s a decision he must make on his own."
Twilight looked at Hawke with worried and prayed that he wouldn’t do anything the he would regret. Hawke was about to pull down his sword, until a thought came to him. It was the day that swore that he would found better ways to solve problems without taking lives recklessly and remembered what Twilight said, "I think that this is better then what you would normally do. I know that you've never meant to hurt anypony and I'm glad that you would never consider it." She then gave him a warm hug and he return it with his.
Hawke cried remembering those words. His sword transformed back to what it was before and his anger slowly went away, the wings disappeared, and his eyes were normal again. He then said to Tirek, "No, I won’t become like you. I swore I wouldn’t kill and I meant it. It’s what Twilight would have wanted."
Twilight was relieved to hear that and was happy to see Hawke as himself again.
Hawke looked back at Tirek and said, "It’s over. You’ve lost. The prophecy says nothing about killing you, it just said that I had to defeat you and I did. Now that it is over, I want to start over, instead of being enemies, let me be your friend instead." Hawke then reach out to Tirek with his hand of friendship.
Tirek grabbed on to it and shouted, "NEVER!"
Tirek tried to stab Hawke with his blade, but Spike threw the crystal over to Hawke and he stabbed Tirek with it. Hawke’s magic was in the crystal and went into Tirek. His body was cracking up like a statue with blue and red lights coming out. He was screaming in pain, until he exploded and Hawke was pushed back away from the force of the explosion.
Everypony was shocked of what they saw and the blue energy was still hanging in the air, it then disperses in to a wave of blue energy and everypony was caught in it. The monster started turning back in to their former selves, all the dead came back to life, and all who were wounded were healed. Everypony cheered and celebrated, all the desiples, former monster, assassins, and warlocks tore off their coats and asked the princesses for forgiveness.
Hawke was on the ground, wishing that he could see Twilight again. He then heard a familiar voice…
"Hawke?"
Hawke opened his eyes to Twilight. He started to cry and held Twilight tight, the love of his life was alive and he didn’t care how.
Hawke and Twilight looked at each other’s eyes deeply and the couple soon shared a passionate kiss with one another.
"OMG,OMG,OMG,OMG!" Pinkie said frantically and interrupted the couples kissing. "THAT WAS AWESOME!"
"Way to go champ!" Dash said.
"YEE HAW, now that’s a hoe down of a thrown down!" Applejack added.
"I’m glad everything turned out okay," Fluttershy said.
"That was simply divine and it’s also thanks to my Spikey Wikey," Rarity said hugging the little dragon.
"AW, it was nothing," Spike said with a blush.
Rarity leaned over to give Spike a kiss on the cheek and he soon fell over after he had got it.
Everyone laughed and the day was saved. Hawke then got up and said, "I wouldn’t have made it this far without you guys, you are all the most important people in my life and I will never forget that."
Everyone was touched by what he said and they all hugged together.
Guardian of Equestria-Raise of the Blue Sun Chapter 18 Epilogue
It has been three days since the final battle and the victory over Tirek and his forces. Everypony was celebrating and were attending the award ceremony. Princess Celestia came to balcony to address her subjects, "My faithful subjects, today we celebrate a great day for all of Equestria. It has been a long journey for us all, but never the less it has been the greatest journey we have ever been through, since I and my beloved sister have taken the throne to protect Equestria."
Everypony was cheering for Celestia’s speech so far.
"But, today we have a new protector of Equestria and he is with us today. Sir Gregory, Please step forth."
Hawke came walking through an archway to the balcony with Twilight and her friends.
Hawke was wearing a redesign suit by Rarity, it had a white coat and white boots, the pants were black, the belt was silver, and his shirt was dark blue. His symbols were still on the his shoulders and back. He walked towards Celestia and kneeled before her.
"Sir Gregory, you have proven to us once again, that strength and bravery is within us all and you have proven how friendship can make a difference in this world."
Everypony continued their cheering.
"I am sorry that you lost your magic from this battle and sacrificed it to save Equestria, but from what I heard you are slowly gaining a type of magic, one that is different from the last one you had."
"I am, Princess Celestia," Hawke replied. "It's small and weak, but it will grow stronger as time goes on."
"I am glad to hear it, but not as glad as you are going to be when I tell of what is to come next."
Hawke looked at the princess with a smile.
"Today onward, Sir Hawke Gregory, I Princess Celestia, will grant you the title, The Guardian of Equestria."
Everypony was roaring with joy and they were clapping and waving as well.
"You also have a boon from Equestria as well, please tell us what you would like me to grant onto."
Hawke thought about it for a minute and decide what he wanted. "I only wish to continue to protect Ponyville and serve the crown whenever it needs me."
All the ponies from Ponyville cheered the most from the crowd and were glad to hear that Hawke wishes to continue to live in Ponyville.
"Very well then, you may stay in Ponyville, until you are needed and I will make you an ambassador for Equestria, we hope that you will serve this country well."
"I will your majesty and thank you," Hawke said and bowed before his princess.
Everypony continued cheering and celebrated this moment.
It is night time at the palace; the nobles were out chatting at the ball room and were enjoying the party. Hawke was with Twilight and her family. Hawke was talking with Shining Armor about some of the things after the battle.
"Hey Armor, did you know what happen to Monnark, after the battle was over?" Hawke asked.
"Yes, he has been locked up in a dungeon nearby, but their transporting him to a far away prison as we speak," Armor replied
"That’s good to hear, what about the ponies that served under him?"
"Their all being sent to a correctional facility, where they will get some descent food and will be counseled by professionals, until they are deemed fit for society."
"What about Vulture? Is he still in the dungeon as well?
"Funny that you should ask that," Armor said. "When we check to see if he was still there, he somehow escaped and we haven't found any trace of him anywhere. It's almost as if he never there to begin with."
"That's not good," Hawke said worriedly.
"Come on guys, we're in a middle of party right now," Cadence said to the two. "We can worry about it later."
"Yeah, right now I don’t feel like remembering all that went on," Twilight said.
Hawke let out asmall laugh and said, "Alright Twilight, well stop for now."
"Glad to hear it," Twilight said smiling at Hawke.
As everything was going well, Hawke notice the dance floor and remembered that he never had a chance to dance with Twilight during the Grand Gala.
"Hey Twilight," Hawke said gaining her attention. "I never did get to dance with a certain pony at the gala."
Twilight giggled. "Is that an invitation?"
"Let’s found out," Hawke said holding his hand out towards Twilight.
Twilight grabbed onto Hawke's hand and they made their way towards the dance floor, while Armor and Cadacne went to join them as well.
An hour had pass since Hawke danced with Twilight. He was out in the garden trying to get some fresh air after that....well magical moment by human standards. He looked up at the night sky feeling relaxed and was glad that the whole prophecy was behind him now. Then a pair of arms were wrapped around him from behind and saw that it was Twilight holding on to him.
Twilight laid her head on his shoulder and asked, "Bit for your thoughts?"
"Just remembering when we first met," Hawke replied giving a warm smile.
Twilight smiled back at Hawke. "We've been throught a lot haven't we?" she asked.
"Yeah, a lot," Hawke replied with a bit of guilt.
Twilight notice this and asked, "Is something the matter? Are you okay?"
"I'm fine, it's just-" Hawke paused for a moment and said, "I miss some of my family back, especially my little brother."
Twilight eyes widen at the sudden news of Hawke having a brother. "You have a brother? How come you never told me about this?" she asked concernedly.
Hawke turned to her and said, "Before I went to get some groceries for grandparents, I made a promise to my little bro that I would come back soon. Only problem is......I never did. I felt guilty about it ever since I first came here and when I realized that I would never be able to go back home, It felt like I let him down."
Twilight felt awful for for Hawke and held onto him tight. She looked up to him and said, "I'm sorry that you feel that way. If there is anything that you need me for, please don't hesitate to ask."
"Don't worry, I will." With that said, Hawke then got closer to Twilight and began meeting his lips with hers.
They both continued to kiss one another, until they both stopped and decided to head back to the party. As they were walking, Hawke took one last look back at the stars. With wishful hope, he spoke up to them and said, "Lord, please keep my brother safe." He then followed Twilight back in to the ballroom where he would enjoy the rest of the night.
Far in a dark forest, a figure in dark cloak stood on a large stone, looking where Canterlot was with his red blood shot eyes. With a growl he said to himself, "We'll meet again, hero. And when we do, I'll be more stronger than you can possibly imagine and I'll take everything and watch you suffer." The figure then went into the forest and disappeared into the darkness.
