> Final Fantasy Equestria > by Golbez The Brony > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Prelude > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Prelude Where one story ends another starts… Crystals, the very essence of magic were created by the lunarians and was used to protect them. Life was peaceful until one lunarian sought to use the crystals power for his own gain. He had caused mayhem wherever he desired until a group of lunarians caught him and imprisoning him within the moon. The lunarians fearing of someone misusing the crystals power once more built a ship to sail through the stars. They had taken the crystals onto a nearby blue planet hiding them within caverns, the underworld, and bestowing them to trustworthy kingdoms. Along their travels one lunarian had fallen in love with a human woman. They gave birth to one son and were to expect another soon. During the pregnancy of their second son the father had fell ill due to a foreign virus and died shortly. The mother was depressed though out the pregnancy while the older son took care of her. When she gave birth she too had also passed away only leaving their sons, all alone. Stricken with grief the older brother cried until he heard a voice unlike his own within his head. The voice woven lies in his mind saying it was his brother’s fault for causing him such pain. The older brother has taken his newborn brother to the outskirts of a kingdom leaving him there. Wracked by guilt the older brother fled to the border lands, to hide from others eyes never to be seen again. Right when he left the king of the land had found the newborn taking him in and raising him as his own. The younger brother had grown into a proud knight under the leadership of his king, soon after years of serving his king he became the leader of the redwings. His king had sent him on a quest to retrieve a crystal from Mystdia, a neighboring kingdom of mages over the seas. Having to strike down people who did not lift a hand in resistance, he left Mystdia questioning of whatever happened to the proud and noble king he once knew. Bringing this matter up with the king he ordered the younger brother to be stripped of his leadership of the redwings. The king had given the younger brother a task to deliver a ring to a town of men who call eidolons--summers with his companion from the dragoon unit. They traveled through a cavern and fought the Mist dragon that roamed within it. Upon reaching the town the ring glowed with a darken flame and soon the flames had turned into bombs torching the town leaving only one survivor. Witnessing the chain of commands his king had given proved more than enough that he had to spread the word of what had happen here. His travels had leaded him all over the world meeting many companions and learning the king was after the crystals. Deciding to stop the king his only chance of doing so was to become a paladin. During his travels he learned that his former king was nothing more but an elemental fiend disusing himself as the king all this time. He planned a course to Mount Ordeals with his companies and traveled to the top only to be confronted with one of the elemental fiends. Defeating this foe was no easy task but was rewarded the power of light and thus became a paladin. He endured many hardships of fights, loss of companions, and betrayal of close friends. Stopping a man in clad of darkest armor twice. To collect all the crystals before, the man in darkest armor did so. Learning that their hard work was in vain, in order to save one of their companions meant to relinquish them all. They headed toward the Tower of Babli where they confronted one of the elemental fiends until the friend who betrayed them decided to aid them. By the time they finished fighting the man in darkest armor had escaped to the underworld. Chasing him into the underworld of the blue planet they confronted of one the elemental fiends defeating him, but sadly he got away escaping to the moon. Thinking that all hope was lost the kingdom of Mystdia decided to help the younger brother and friends. By gathering all of the mages they summoned a ship that could sail through the starts, from the very depths of the sea. It was decided that the only thing to do was to follow him and to see who was behind all of this. Upon reaching the moon a lone elder lunarian who lived there told them that it was Zemus, the one who was lock away inside the one who was causing these problems. Most of his power was restored by the power of the crystals but not enough to break free. Instead he had sent some of his power to The Tower of Babli to awaken a giant who was asleep all this time to destroy what they loved. Rushing back to the blue planet to stop the giant they noticed that the Red wings, the dwarfs, and all the kingdoms of the blue planet sent their military to fight. Determined to fight more than ever, they entered the mechanized giant having to fight all of the elemental fiends again. Winning their battle they continued up the giant navigating themselves up to the brain and destroying the CPU. Then he came again the man in darkest armor willing to fight but the elder lunarian sensed the power Zemus was controlling him and with a blinding light restored his mind. At that moment the man knew that the paladin was none other than his younger brother. The younger brother was in shock as his older brother told the story on how he was consumed by Zemus will and leaving him behind. Asking not for his forgiveness but was more than glad to see his brother survived the ordeal turning his face away. With that said the older brother left to fight Zemus alone until the elder lunarian went with him incase Zemus tried to take his mind again. The only family he had left meant to die, deciding to help his older brother he traveled to the depths of the moon as well. Upon reaching the cavern of Zemus he found his brother and the elder lunarian collapsed on the floor, close to death. Enraged at the torture that his brother had went through he fought with Zemus with all his might and in the end were victories. Upon returning home with his brother he offered him to live within the kingdom of Baron for a permanent stay. He accepted the kindness of his brother and stayed until a few years later… > Chapter One: A Strange Occurrence > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter One: A Strange Occurrence “As my first encounter I never expected of meeting with a yellow winged mane….” Years have passed after my brother fateful battle with Zemus and my study of creating another crystal was promising though there’s been a slight humming sound to it. Preparations would take several hours collecting ingredients so I left only for a few hours before hand. I’ve been working on a teleporting crystal reaching far beyond my limits covering every inch of my world and a place that no human could accomplish without aid. It’s now noon as I prepared the crystal for its experiment still the humming sound lingered within it, as the pathway emerged it was filled with binding light. As I have expected it was a successful run now was for the final task to test upon me but I was confident in my works. Stepping inside I had to shield my eyes from being blinded I took a feet inside until the entrance vanished. I thought of Baron and shortly a portal showed up, presenting an image of the castle. I began to think of other places Fabul, Damcyan, Mount Ordeals, Chocobo Forest, Mysidia, Torian, Underworld, The tower of Babil and Zot, and lastly the moon. I stood there gazing at all the portals amazed that it actually works, soon a faint rumble rock the dimensional plain and the portals shattered like glass only leaving the moon portal standing. I heard a maniacal laugh emanating from the portal then the humming sound grew louder, the rumbling reaching the magnitude of such velocity until becoming a horrid shrieking sound forced me to my knees. I was trying to cover my ears but my resistance was futile the pain was too much “GUAAAAAAAH” I collapsed, starting to black out. It felt like a decade floating throughout the plain slowly regaining my strength but I still remained the same when I entered, interesting. Turing right side up or what I thought was right; I started to wonder across the dimensional plain of light. The humming within the crystal had vanished, reassuring me that whatever caused it was gone. A faint laughter appeared behind me could it be I found a way out, yes finally a way out. I heard the sounds come clearer of birds chirping, children laughing, and bustling of a town no longer I’ll be stranded in this plain I made my way through the portal. I found myself in the outskirts of a town things seemed vibrant here and somehow cheerful. I took several steps away from the portal only to interrupt by a faint humming sound, one that I learned to despise. I heard a shattering sound have my own ears deceived me, I turned quickly to see if the portal was there. Despair had stuck; the crystal I created had been decimated as I walked though leaving me stranded here. Why must I always be tortured for efforts of my own gain? I had pondered of what could have gone wrong but I couldn’t think on an empty stomach, so I headed for the town not far from me. Wondering around I’ve found a local bakery called the “Sugercube Corner” so I made my way inside. I had a feeling of being watched, turning I saw nothing there but only to be interrupted by my stomach growls. Inside a sweet aroma filled the air as a cupcake was left unattended on the counter. The cupcake was delectable never before I tasted something so sweet, hoping that they accept Gil I left 200 at the counter it seemed like an appropriate amount. With a partly full stomach I couldn’t help but to look around inside the store but there was nothing useful for me. While leaving, I caught out of the corner of my eye that a shadow had run past me, most likely a rodent so I paid no mind. It was strange that I saw no sighs of inhabitants clearly something was amidst. Though I wonder who or what could possibly lived here? Soon afterward I heard sounds around a corner of a creature rummaging through trash. Rushing over I caught myself face to face with a winged lion posseting a scorpion tail. Lifting its head from the trash container it turned to me growling as it knocked the container away. I had its attention now it was slowly walking up to me probably wondering of how I tasted. What kind of beast was this; I’ve fought monsters before but never something like this, being on the defense I waited for it attacks first. While getting my stance ready the creature moved with high speed lashed out with its claws knocking me over and pinning me down to the ground. I could feel my lungs being crushed by the beast; I think he might have broken a rib. I can’t support his weight he has to get off; kicking the creature in the gut it recoiled off of me only to use its tail as a counter aiming at my chest. The tail had punched a hole into a wall if that would of hit me, I’ll be a goner. We were both on the defensive circling each other waiting for the right time to strike until it charged at me unleashing a fury of slashes. Having to jump back each attack, there was no way of me defeating this beast with hand combat so I had to rely on my magic. “Let’s see how you handle this!” lighting a ring of fire around the beast. At first he was startled with flames rising from the grounds but it didn’t stop him from bursting through them and tackling me across the street while doing so. Then the beast unfurled his wings taking off into the air circling above me. Getting ready to do an aerial dive with sharpened claws I extended my palm out and shot Thunder but the beast did a barrel roll to avoid the shot. Next thing I knew I was being carried off from my shoulders and was about to be piled drive into the ground. I couldn’t escape without injuring myself but being a midday snack sounded worse. I grabbed the beast’s arms and used Thunder, it was painful, and we were both plummeting toward the ground luckily for me the beast cushioned my fall enough were I didn’t break any more bones. Doubled over in pain, I had to lean against a wall and a barrel to prop myself up, only to see the beast stirring slowly on the ground. I heard a clanking sound beside me when I turned to look it was a hi-potion, I don’t recall bringing any but that didn’t stop me from glugging it down. I knew for sure someone had snuck by and placed it there, whoever it was I had to thank him or her later. Feeling revitalized and most injuries spontaneously healed I flaunted a bit then beats eyes had turned bloodshot, releasing poison from its tail, and its muscles bulged twice as larger than before. Enraged the beast started demolishing anything near it from walls to street carts. This is not good if this keeps up someone might get hurt, I picked up a stone and threw at its head now I had to lure it out of here. “Foul beast, your fight is with me” and threw one directly at its eye. Letting out a deafening roar shattering windows nearby it rushed madly at me. Running away the beast was hot my heels, ramming through obstacles, destroying some walls like they rice paper picking up speed until we reached outside of town. Our fight continued from there on but the enraged look had left from the beast form the chase. Its breath was ragged, drooling more than normally, movement slowed, and its attacks far weaker than before. Now it was my turn to be on the offensive, using Blizzardra I froze the beast in place and was casting Quake next. He was knocked into the air; trying to recover but I place a gravitational sphere close to him though he avoided it, tough he didn’t expect me to teleport behind him, knocking him into the sphere. The force of the sphere drove the beast into the ground repeatedly until it disappeared; walking up to it I lifted the beast to my face. “If I ever catch you here again I’ll make sure make a skin rug out of you”. Delivering a devastating back hand across its face the beast went sprawling into a trunk of a tree breaking its fang, letting out a cry while stepping closer to me “Please” I said already rubbing my writs to backhand him again. The beast let out a yelp and flew away into the depths of a forest leaving me to pick up its fang from our battle, seconds after figures emerged from the shadows and within houses. Were these inhabits of this town the-there just ponies. They came in different colors and varieties. I just stood there frozen in place as they stared at me. Why do most of my interactions have to be awkward? At my first thought I sought out to curse the moon only to realize a large amount of species have gathered around me. I heard whispers among them “What is it? How did he get here? Does it talk? Do you think he’s part of Luna’s guards?” the crowd pondered with every step they took toward me. I was causing a large situation I couldn’t handle. I’ve no interest of staying much longer without knowing where I was and causing trouble by my appearance, I saw a clearing through the crowd. With haste I made past the crowd, toward the depths of the forest to collect my thoughts and find information during the night. After entering the forest I found myself exhausted after all the running I did, I don’t usually get tired this easily I think am still being infected by whatever happened within the dimensional plain. My means of consumption were apples at least it help gaining what small strength I had. If I were to explore during the night, I might as well have rest until then. “Man of darkness you are nothing without me, soon you shall feel my wrath….till then suffer Muhahahahaha!” said the voice with deep melodic tone. What a horrible nightmare at least its night, time to depart for the town. The moon was full of radiating light above the village, it reminded me of what happened in the plain; some lights were left on forcing me to dwell within the shadows. Up ahead I saw a library with lights on “This could be a valuable chance to gain information” saying with a bit of amusement in my voice while walking toward it. Peering inside I noticed inside a small purple dragon with green spikes and a purple unicorn, from what I saw it accorded that there were several variety of these ponies existed. Then she started to write a letter I couldn’t help but over hear. “Dear Princess Celestia, things have been going well expect for a mantacore attack in the town, most of us hide from sight until something in dark armor showed up facing it in combat. I thought it was Luna’s guard mare but he was standing on his hind legs when he fought and clearly did not look like a pony. Before the fight started I went to grab Fluttershy but when we got there it was over. When the mantacore left we all went to see who it was but as I got there the thing fled into the forest. I was told by numerous ponies that his magic was strong and destructive keeping the mantacore at bay. Tomorrow I plan to ask ponies about it later to see what comes up yours truly, Twilight”. It would be best if I came here when no one’s around to look around the library so I took my leave only to head out of town. On my way out I bumped into a gray Pegasus dropping a bag of muffins. Lucky for me her eyes misdialed when she was searching frantically for them. I picked some up and placed them on a crate by her and whispered “Look behind you” into her ear. It took her time to realize that I said that but I got around a corner of a house waiting, soon I heard her thanks. It felt good to help somepony out from the shadows least then I wouldn’t have to worry about them being scared of me. When I turned around the corner to see her leave I noticed she left a muffin behind for me I don’t know why but I said you’re welcome under my breath. I guess things are finally looking up for me, heck maybe I’ll stop by the Sugercube corner again and buy a cake of course if I can. The outskirts presented nothing for me but a small house in the distance without lights. This would make a great shelter for the night so I walked over opening the door slowly to seep inside. As I had a closed the door lights had been turned on I made a huge mistake about this house. Turning around I was confronted by a pony hiding behind some furniture shivering. “Eep go away don’t take a step closer.” She said with dread “You hurt my friend how could you be so mean” Holding tears back. I don’t recall ever hurting a pony when I got here. “Please calm down I don’t plan on hurting anyponies” reaching out with my hand. “That’s not true you said that you were going to make a skin rug out of him.” She said leaning over the couch and pointing at me. Wait did she said skin rug the only moments I said that was… you can’t be serious. It donned on me that what she was actually talking about wasn’t a pony but the beast I fought earlier today. “That thing today that attacked the town was your friend? How can even be friends with it!?” throwing my hands into the air with slight notice of astonishment. “That thing has a name and it’s Freddy, thank you very much.” Again she leaned over the couch. “Well explain to me howFreddy[i/] got into that town then and why he attacked me in the first place?” sitting down on a chair beside me. “Oh ummm heh” hanging her head from me to avoid any eye contact. It was easy for anyone or anypony to tell she was hiding something. “You’re only fooling yourself it’s obvious to tell you had something to do with it.” Standing up and walking towards her placing a hand on her head. She turned away from me “Alright but please don’t mad at me.” “I assure you I won’t hold any grudges but you must tell how this came to be.” Returning to the seat I was previously was and gesturing her to sit as well. She sat down and began to tell me what she knew. “I see, you were tending to one of his wounds and went inside to get bandages when a bright light filled the sky followed by the sound of breaking glass. Do you know what could have caused this?” I said also wondering how exactly. “Yeah when I came outside to patch him up he was gone and the only thing there was a small glowing shard.” Hanging her head again “Ooh it’s entirely my fault I knew I should have brought him inside.” “Don’t be so quick to kick yourself down, further more tell me about this shard you found.” Removing one of my gauntlets to wipe away a tear from her eye and lifting her chin up. I knew my helm was on concealing my face but this mare knew I had companion behind it. She nodded her head and flew to a shelf above taking a small wooden box presenting it. “I don’t know much about it, but I held on to in case somepony might know it is.” Reviling a small fragment that glowed with a warm sapphire color light much like the one I’ve made. No, I saw I made destroyed entirely why was there a fragment left? Questions drove my mind into a state of confusion until the yellow mare waved her hoof in front of me. “My apologies I was lost in thought, this here is actually a crystal shard you acquired. It may not look like valuable but they possess powerful magical powers once formed into a complete crystal. The process of making them is time consuming as I learned from my own work though the power it has from then is far beyond unimaginable.” clasping the small crystal fragment tightly within my hand. “You seem to know a lot about it; maybe it’s for the best if you held onto it” Placing her hoofs on top my hand, looking up to me. “Thank you, by the way I never did get your name.” inserting the crystal into an undersized pouch along my waist. “Oh, my name is Fluttershy it’s nice to meet you, even if you did hurt Freddy. What’s your name?” exchanging her hoof for a hand-to-hoof shake or what I guessed it would be. “My name is Golbez and I am sorry for what I had done to Freddy hope you can forgive me.” Meeting her hoof and shaking it. We spent most our time talking about whatever we could over freshly baked cookies I only had two but it felt like I was eating hay, she didn’t seem to question the fact I was completely different from most of the inhabits here. It was middle of night when I almost fell out of my seat from drowsiness, Fluttershy insisted of me to stay but I was already making my way out of her house. She came right next to me placing her hooves on my shoulders soon enough I was being pushed back inside. How in the world was she able to easily do this? Slowly being pushed into a single bedroom that Fluttershy prepared for guests I didn’t want to stay but I was far too sleepy to disagree. My senses became imbalanced and flopped on the nearest bed I found. An eerie voice told me this“Don’t think you can hide from me, I will find you again Golbez” as bright red eyes filled my dreams. Again I had a nightmare but this time being consumed by darkness then a small faint light appeared, I tried to reach for it but the darkness held me securely. I swore that I heard that voice before but when? The rest of my dream was a blur and confusing making it hard to remember anything. The sun had gleamed through the window and found its way to my eyes as I heard voices outside. To the left of my bed a small breakfast mostly consisting of fruits was made, I picked one of the apples and listened in to the conversation. Fluttershy was speaking to Twilight about something I wasn’t able to make most of it but got out a few sentences. “Fluttershy that’s not what I ask, I said have you seen someone come by here in dark looking armor” tapping her hoofs impatiently. “Yes I have Twilight in fact he is inside my house this very moment” with a pleasant smile, leading her over. Thanks a lot Fluttershy remind me not to ask you for a hiding spot. Well looks like my cover is blown; might as well introduce myself to her now, such calamity. Opening the door I meet face to face with twilight tension was growing “Well I was planning on visiting your library earlier today but looks like I’ll have to miss out”. “Relax were going to head over there anyway but you’re going to work for me till I find out what to do with you” nodding her head in admiration. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing me and I defiantly couldn’t stop myself laughing out loud “What makes you think I would work for you”. “Well it sure sounded like you needed to go there pretty badly I guess you can say goodbye to it” Great now she’s making look like an idiot the nerve. Then Twilight started to leave me behind so I looked over to Fluttershy she pointed out for me to go, I nodded and caught up with Twilight. “Ok then if you’re going to play hardball I guess I have no choice so what do you want me to do organize your books” shrugging as we walked. “A bit yes but I am just going to ask you some questions that’s all” looking back, waving goodbye to Fluttershy. “Oh so now I am being interrogated isn’t this nice” crossing my arms letting out a big sigh. “If you want to be we can go to Pinkiepie’s place” guesting over to the sugercube corner. “Pinkie who now…Enough games let’s just head toward the library”. When entering the house I didn’t think the door would be a problem until hitting my head on the door frame and landing flat on my back. I swore that Twilight was laughing at me; she caught herself before I glanced over and the dragon laughing still so I just glared at him until he stopped. When I stepped inside it looked like an aero made its way through the shelves knocking the books in small piles everywhere. “Have a seat Golbez am going to need some questions answered and send a letter for Princess Celestia, first off where did you come from?” magically levitating a pen and scroll in front of her. Honestly I was expecting this question sooner or later so I told her I was born a blue planet but my origins were from the moon. The look on her face from it my answer was of shock and confusion, also she looked pale. Twilight recovered in brief moment and the questions followed it took two hours for us to be done at the end she look tired I couldn’t blame her hearing about a person who’s ancestors lived on the moon; the moon was rising to quarter of night. “Well I think were done now all there’s left to do is send the answers you’ve given me to Celesita, you said that you needed books right? We’ll have a look around then while I’ll figure what to do with you when I get back, come on Spike.” And the small purple dragon followed her up the stairs glancing back me once. With that I made my way toward one of the small pile of books and rummaged up what could help me. All I found were two of history books, one of geography, gems, magical instruments, and an interesting storybook about the moon. With these books I sat down by a desk and began reading close to midnight. The only book I finished was about geography charting a map for further use until Twilight came down the flight of stairs it reminded me of when my brother would come and visit my living corner to greet me with dinner sometimes. I hanged my head wondering if they knew where I was, being worried for my safety. Then I felt a hoof on my shoulder, “Its late Golbez I have to wait for a letter from Celesita how about you stay here for tonight, there’s a bed made already and for tomorrow you’re going to be working by then” organizing the books I’ve picked out on the desk. With those words I got up and thank Twilight for her hospitality. Thinking maybe being stuck here wasn’t much of a horrible thing at least I found some caring ponies enough to help me. A candle had lightened by itself when I entered the room; it was all organized unlike the main room of the library. I began to take off my armor when a small picture fell from them picking I realized it was picture of my brother and I. Sitting down on the bed staring at the picture, reminiscing of the things we did, oh brother where art thou. I had a dream but this time it wasn’t disturbing as the rest, it was a peaceful memory of my brother and friends celebrating in the after years of Zemus defeat, with me out of my armor enjoying the festival. Waking up I saw that Twilight and Spike were gone; when I stepped into the main room I noticed a note on a desk. It was from Twilight telling me to head toward a barn outside of town to help somepony named Applejack. Walking there didn’t take much time but I felt out of place when so many ponies were giving me strange looks at least few of them said hello while they walked passed me. At the entrance I saw an orange mane wearing a hat waiting I suppose that was Applejack so I greeted her with an open hand. “Well you sure know how to keep a mare waiting now come on were burning day light!” dashing away with only work on her mind. “Wait you haven’t told me what to do yet!” so I followed her into an orchard of apple trees. End of Chapter 1 Teleporting crystal was destroyed Banana-nut muffin added to inventory Mantacore Fang added Key item added Crystal shard Remaining Gil 2,300 Key item acquired “Twilight’s note” Key item Found World map > Chapter two: Courtroom Rumble > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter two: Courtroom Rumble “It’s one thing after another when well I ever get a break” It was around six o’clock at night when Applejack and I were through working in the orchard every part of my body felt numb at least the work day was over. She offered me an apple pie as a gift of friendship, I thank her waving goodbye. Walking towards Twilight’s house I was stopped by a trio of fillies who seemed curious about me so I humored them for a bit. They called themselves “The Cutie Mark Crusaders” personally I found this hilarious, nothing more than children imagination at its best. I asked if any of them would be interested to see a magic trick or two, immediately they smiled agreeing to observe some. Pulling up a wooden crate to sit on I started off by bidding five minor flames to appear before us, dancing to the movement of my left hand. The three of them look with intense interest following the smooth flow of the fire; soon enough a couple of ponies came to see what was transgressing. With my spare hand I called forth a moderate sized block of ice right behind the line of flames. I positioned every flame to encircle it with a design in mind, melting away layers by layers until a shape of a pony on its hind legs posing valiantly showed. By then a crowd was drawn in awe of my magical skills, the flames merged into one and gently float into the palm of my hand. By controlling the ice with my right hand I lifted the statue lofty into the air where it floated aimlessly about. Lobbing the fire from my hand into the statue causing it to explode on impact, creating small fractions of ice reflecting the sun’s light, glistening above as the very stars at night. By then most of the ponies were applauding me, typically I do this in Baron when a child is crying whenever by me. Later on my brother would lightheartedly mock me about this, but I am glad to see that these residences do not find it discomforting to have me around. Then again I haven’t met with most of them nor their feelings toward me. I felt a tug on my clothes it was the Cutie Mark Crusaders. They wanted me to teach them how exactly I preformed magic, though the idea of which these three running around with powerful magic gave me second thoughts. I crouched down patting their heads telling them maybe when they were older. The orange one let out a grown of how dumb it was to wait and told her friends they can learn spells without my help, running off to who knows where. No matter how cute those three are they can be quite rude, neither the less I have someplace to be. There was some sort of commotion in the distance, running over to see what it was all about I dropped the pie realizing in shock that it was Twilight who was the center of attention. I began to walk slowly to her until I was cut off by some paramedics advising everyone to stand back. They took her en route for the hospital while I fallowed close behind, during this time I haven’t seen high nor low of Spike. I wanted to see how Twilight was doing but the doctors refused anypony to go any closer. Standing by the exit Spike just entered I look over to him then at the ponies in shimmering golden armor who had followed him inside. I was going to ask who they were until one of their gruff voices interrupted me. “Golbez by order of princess Celestia royal guard you are under arrest for the ill-treatment of Twilight Sparkle.” I wanted to show them wrong for making such folly accusation but Spike was making gestures for me not to act aggressive. They escorted me to a chariot with a cage in the back shoving me inside and flying toward a castle in a mountain side. *** “I take that your mission was successful” said a voice that echoed throughout the room. “Yes my load, Golbez’s little friend is suffering the effects of my poison, by now he is being taken away while she suffers” Laughing aloud with glee shortly afterward. “Ohohoho it’s a shame that Golbez’s friend won’t be around I am going to miss that beautiful face of hers” Said a voice with a hint of yearning within it. “I find no honor in this but the job had to be done, my load is there something else you wish for?” A strict voice interrupted the two talking causing them to stay silent. “Yes, I want you to keep watch of Golbez and inform me later of what happens.” The voice said before fading away. “As you wish my load, I shall return when the job is dealt with.” With a low bow the silhouette shambled in a room filled with runes and symbols among it. “Let’s see if you are truly ready to fight for Zemus will” placing a hand on the rune releasing several chains that were restricting a body to fall. *** I found myself in a dungeon cell my legs chained to the walls. Sure I could easily breakout and escape but it wouldn’t help in the slightest if I did. I spent most my time pacing around until I head hoof steps coming closer of where I was held. He was one of the guards from earlier that brought me here. “What do you want?” crossing my arms, tapping my foot restlessly. “I’ am here to take you to your trail, there we’ll see if you were truly behind the poisoning of Twilight Sparkle” he explained unlocking the cell door. There was no point in asking him anything at the moment it’s only sensible that he’s just here to lead me toward the trail. We were walking through a large corridor with me still being chained up and escorted by guards until a large door blocked our passage. One of the unicorn guards opened it with his magic and was lead into a large room with balconies circling around us covering a section on each wall in the center of the room stood a pedestal. There was an extreme lack of ponies in the court room besides from the guards only means that this trail was not made for the public yet. I started to relax when a trio of ponies, each of a different type of pony there is. Then they stopped in their seats looking down onto me, a guard had given them the files in which were disturbed about me. I heard some mumbles but couldn’t make anything out from it. “Tell me again why we need this trail, that thing is a monstrosity I say execute it before it can do more harm” spoke the Pegasus. “Be calm consular Kaiser, I for one on the other hoof want to study him see what makes him really tick” gleam the unicorn adjusting his glasses. “You and your studies Viktor, get too involved in them soon enough you’ll find yourself on the table. Now the princess wanted to give him a fair trial so let’s begin. Tell us your name creature” calming down the other two ponies. “My name is Golbez and I’ am lunarian not a monster as some thinks” looking directly at Kaiser. “Well then I suppose you know what this is all about. The poisoning of Twilight, student of Princess Celestia, and we have evidence that points directly to you.” Kaiser spoke gruffly, his voice slightly rising. “We have been given sightings of you sneaking around Twilight’s house not soon after you left earlier. Witnesses have reported something of your stature fleeing into the Everfree Forest. Trace amount of poisoning have been found in her food. Its only safe to presume it was you” spoke the earth pony. “Yes Greoff is right to be wary of you especially after you fought of the raged Mantacore, personally I find it interesting you have magic, it’s strange of you to help out the town but a day later you target a citizen” pointed out Viktor. “Not only have that but someponies believed that you are innocent from the days you spent there. In fact in counteracts our evidence to some extent. It’s the only reason that’s not holding you up for execution at the moment.” Greoff said continuing off from Viktor. “Start talking Golbez what were you doing from the time you left Twilight’s house” demanded Kaiser. “From then I had left to see through a request from Twilight to work a day within the apple orchard in Ponyville, I have the letter with me at the moment” specking calmly. A guard had walked up and took the note then conveying it over to the trio. All three of them had gazed over the note then Kaiser spoke “And how can we be sure that this is her writing?” Viktor spoke up “It is, this is her hand writing from one the letters she sent to Celestia, this proves that this isn’t fake and you did appear from one of the reports earlier before this trail.” “Might I ask how long you’ve been keeping an eye out on me?” “That is none of your concern so remain silent until spoken to” Barked Kaiser. Would someone please get this guy off his high horse…or would the term be off his high self, it’s too confusing to think about that. “In light of recent evidence and our upcoming evidence we shall call a short recess. Guards please see that he gets some fresh air at least” Greoff entreated. I was escorted outside but the numbers of guards have increased. It was a warm day to bad it was being used to figure out my sentence. “Halt who goes there” A guard shouted over towards to ponies that I’ve meet before. It was Fluttershy and Applejack what brings them here, it must be because they believed I actually harmed Twilight can’t say I blame them. The guard then eased his weapon and allowed the two closer. “My apologies I didn’t know the princess gave you permission to see him” letting them pass. “Golbez is it true that you do sometin’ like that ter Twilight” Applejack said staring right at me. “Of course not why would I harm somepony who offered me a place to stay from the night, besides I’ve been working on your farm until I left with your gift” recalling back from yesterday. “You’re right I’m sorry Golbez I wish there was something we could do ter help ya” applejack said hanging her head. “It’s okay Applejack I know for certain Golbez is innocent he would never do anything like this” as Fluttershy tried to cheer he up. She was right, before we knew a guard stating that the trail will resume in five minutes so the guards started to move, Applejack and Fluttershy wished me lucked. While walking back into the court I heard a scream and shouts from inside as some of the guards rushed ahead as the rest pinned me down. If somepony was in trouble it would be my fault I had to see who is framing me, there was no choice but to louse these guards and reach the court room. I’ve teleported away around the corner to break off the cuffs and rush off to the source of the shouts. Guards were knocked out scattered around the hallway I tried to wake one, it was no use, the door was barbed shut. There wasn’t enough time to go around witch only left me one choice. I begin focusing my magic and placed my hand on the door “FIRAGA!” and it blew into smithereens only to find an amorphous blob of shadows, the same exact figure of me, dropping a pony as I entered. The three ponies who was in charge of the trail ran for the exit past me nearly trampling over me then all that was left was this monster and I. Once everypony left the monster released a gurgling sound and behind me the exit was being closed up by some magical force, it undoubtedly wanted to lure me here. “Insufferable shadow I’ll send back from wince you came!” surging magic into my palms. Its response was to screech and shoot lighting from its mouth. There wasn’t enough time to dodge so I have bring up my cape to absorb some of its impact but doing so forced me to stagger leaving me open for a frontal attack. Its arm turned into scythe dashing towards striking me until I sidestep out of the way flowing up with a blizzarda to its chest. It took the hit taking no damage; I ‘am useless without a weapon since this thing could absorb most of my magic. Ponies watched outside seeing me become a punching bag for the shadow, some guards tried to puncture the seal but it was in vain not one could even make a ripple upon it. I thought about using meteor but the damage would surly destroy the castle and all who was in it so that idea was waste, then I was punched across my helm into the wall leaving an indent. I fell to my knee, gazing hazily at the shadow stalked closer knowing one more hit could finish me until a blinding light and whooshing sound cut his path off. It look like a lance had been delivered from the heavens soon the shadow stepped backed as if afraid from it, I made my way, grasping the lance I felt tremendous burst of energy. Rising to my feet lance in hand I thanked the heavens for their gift so this foul monster could be slew and Twilight’s health came to mind. It was clear now that this monster was the reason for her sickness so defeating it could show a cure. It made sense it looked remotely like me with my armor on. I took aim at the monster with my lance it was now backpedalling, I threw my lance and it flew with a glittering light impaling the creature though the chest onto the wall. Taking hold my lance I punched the shadow Right square in the face causing the wall to crumble behind it. The dexterity of the shadow was superb in a matter of seconds it sprinted down corridors with a limp leg. Pursuing after it I tried to cast so of my spells to slow it down but it nimbly dodge them causing the destruction of the corridors. At the end of it there was a framed glass tinted window, crashing through the window it began to plummet I made to the edge of the window this was my chance to strike “Firag—OOF”. Tackled down by guard ponies my only chance of defeating it gone “What do you think you’re doing release me this instant!” The judges came galloping from the corner “Huff huff geeez could you run anymore faster, thanks for stopping him I’ll take it from here… well Golbez I am sure everypony in the courtroom thanks you for saving them but I believe that won’t help you for the destruction within the castle, looks like we’re back at square one” explained Viktor. Returning to the used to be courtroom some ponies came up to thank me for helping them taking care of the shadow, telling me I wasn’t bad but a bit destructive well at least they were warming up to me. Waiting in the court with guards by my side for the judges to appear and present my fate I’ve thought it would be best if Applejack and Fluttershy weren’t here. The sound of hoof steps caught my attention it was them with a disappointed face. “Golbez, the trail was going into your favor almost but we are no longer appointed for your judgment instead it would be Princess Celestia, please follow the guards to her throne room” Greoff said walking away along with Viktor and Kaiser. Reaching her throne room they only let me enter, if they would send me in then must know that Celestia could easily defeat me, the doors opened their selves. Most ponies would be graced by this but this, I never wished for anything bad for anypony. I ‘am just hoping that this is a fight I cannot win. Throughout all of this all I could think about was Twilight, Praying that she gets better. End of Chapter 2 New weapon acquired Tarnished Lance > Chapter Three: Hidden Within > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 3: Hidden Within “The amount of sins I’ve collected over the years weigh me down no amount of redemption could help me.” The room was filled of the most wonderful murals I have ever seen. I just couldn’t help myself but gazing at them become a captive of its unusual arrangements. “I am more than glad that you have an interest in them Golbez but the time for admirations will have to wait” spoke an interesting voice. I turned to see a glistering white colored pony with a lustrous mane and tail. She was much taller than any other pony I saw and was blessed with wings along with a horn that shined in the daylight. “I presume you must be Princess Celestia, I’ve heard Twilight mention you before but I never thought of actually meeting you given the measures made to apprehend me” gesturing a bow before walking closer to her, standing in front of her throne. She showed a concerned look for her student but quickly regained her composter walking to the nearest window by the thrown. “I’ve heard about your fighting abilities and for your concern for Twilight. You care for her as well. There is way for you to help Twilight but you’ll have to follow my orders if you do plan on helping. We’ve found a small plant that can secrete a powerful liquid that can be used to make antidotes strong enough to help her.” “That’s wonderful news and all but how and where am I oppose to find this plant?” Taking steps closer to her by the window, impressive she doesn’t show any signs of concern about me but I do sense a bit of distress in her voice. “The only place you’ll ever find would be in the Everfree Forest but from I heard its underground in an abandon mining outpost since the colonization of Equestria” pointing out towards the forest before walking away from the window and back to her throne. “I’ve haven’t read any historical books since I got here so I am guessing its several decades old, right” pondering over how safe this mine could be. “Your close but it’s actually longer than that, anyway the mine was abandoned due to some sort infestation” as she closed her eyes starting to remember the facts. “What type of creature would take refuge in a mining site” rising questions furthermore of my well-being. “Sadly we have no idea. We’ve sent some scouts before but none returned so the excavation was disbanded” she indicated, sitting back down on her throne. “Wait you don’t expect me to go unprepared, what happens if I get injured” questing the facts that this might be a suicide mission. “Don’t worry Golbez I thought about that and that’s why I arraigned some items for you to pick up in the storage. I’ll have a guard escort you there” as she waved her hoof guards came into the room and ask me to follow them. This castle is so immense how they can even keep track of where they’re going baffles me. Honestly I almost got lost a couple of times following the guards. This castle is too similar of Baron; I am having as much trouble when I lived with my brother. At least were at the storage area now, The guard opening the door gave me a hesitant look proceeded to say something “Alright Golbez the chests in front you are gift of items from Celestia and after you collect them do head over to the castle gates”. I began opening every chest instantly grabbing its contests and stuffing them into my bag. I swore that guard was giving me a cold stare when I did this. Most of them had potions and several antidotes along with softs, eye drops and a kit of Phoenix downs. Actually I’ am quite surprised we shared the same name design of these items. When making my way toward the castle gates I saw Fluttershy and told her what the princess did for me. “That’s great for you and Twilight, but aren’t you afraid what might lay in there” speaking with great unease in her voice. “Well Golbez I better leave it to you besides you got to hurry up I’ll talk to you later then.” If I remember correctly the forest should be southwest of Ponyvile. Damn it’s almost sundown I can’t waste time waiting until morning, looks I’ll just have endure the night and hopefully find that abandoned mining facility. I ran through town until I saw the entrance to Evergreen forest until somepony shoved me away from entering. “It’s Dangerous to go alone at night, what are you thinking?” When I got back up it was the same grayish yellow mane pony I bumped into nights ago during my first night. “I can’t let you through rainbow told not to anyone go into the forest at night” she said with an advising tone. “But I have to in order to save a life, listen to reason” pleading her to let me through. “I told you I can’t let you go through by yourself” she definite again in the same tone. “Hold on now, are you saying I have to be accompanied by somepony to go through” coming to a conclusion of what she been trying to tell me. “Yeah, that’s what the mayor told me to tell everypony” nodding her head to me. Maybe it is for the better if I had a party before entering, “Can I ask you to join my party for now to assist me with my quest?” “I could but I don’t think the mayor would like that idea” dismissing my idea I offered. “I’ll give you a muffin if you do join me.” There was a long silence I thought she liked muffins better think of something quick. “I’ll also take the blame for you leaving your post and I’ll treat you for lunch sometime, your call.” “Well now that you’re doing to take the fall guess I could help you out” smiling a bit as she said this. “I didn’t catch your name what was it again and what weapon do you wield” reaching my hand out. “My name is Derpy Hooves and my main choose in weapons are hammers. Most ponies say it’s a bad idea but I ‘am really good at it” as she gave her hoof and we both shacked. I should watch out in case she lets go of her weapon during an attack. I don’t hope she lives up to her name with weapons as I seen before that other night. “By any chance do you know where the abandoned mine is?” walking closer to the entrance of the forest examining how dense it is. “Oh, That place yeah I know where it is I fly pass it every time I reach my post” Waving my question off as if a fly was nearby. Looks I caught myself a break of searching aimlessly in the dark. I don’t think she’ll get mad for when we actually have to enter the mine fight off whatever might be in there. Then she started to hover away into the forest as I followed behind her. We mostly keep quiet trying to avoid useless fights before reaching the mine. At some point there were less noises emitting around us which seemed like a good time to start a conversation. “Derpy are you sure you’re going the right way because we past that exact tree three times now” marking the tree as we walked past it again. “Sure am sure, if you looked there are fewer owls around when you go deeper” while she kept going in a straight line. She sure seems to know a few things about this forest; I should ask her about more when we walk into this clearing. “Is there any type of hostile creatures out here?” stopping still before checking out if it was safe to do so. “Well there are the Timberwolves, mantacores, maybe a dragon or two, a family of ursar majors and minors, and others that live out here they usually hunt by this time that’s all I know. I am sure if you asked in town somepony can tell you about their species.” stopping in place for a moment before walking again. “You set a town close to this forest knowing what lurks within it, not really the best of places is it” shacking my head in disappointment. “Hey it’s not like I decided to place a town here besides they only get involved if somepony dumb enough to bring them” as she said continuing ahead into the forest. We can’t be far from the mine now maybe a few more minutes before the entrance. “Derpy, I meant to ask you this earlier but what do those bubbles on your flank mean?” “It’s called a cutie mark, I really don’t feel like talking about it right now could it wait until were done here” smiling while saying this. Finally were here, it’s too dark to see anything in here so I went out and grabbed a branch from outside spun with a mass amount of webs and lit it on fire. It’s strange we didn’t hear anything nearby but the wind. Derpy was close behind me when we started our exploration into the mine. All I could say about this mine from the start was that I was having trouble walking through before it began to expand. I turned my head around looking back at Derpy, her eyes were crossed again “You said you passed by here a couple of times did you ever tried to look inside of it one day?” Rubbing the back of her head “No, but when my bag fell into it I had to follow it inside. I didn’t know how far it went in but when I did it was on top pulsating thing. When I picked it up a load growl filled the air I thought it was a dragon and ran not looking back, I was really scared.” I guess Celestia was right about something being the mine but an infestation still could have happened. Walking through I stumbled on some sort of stone falling flat on my face. When I picked it up Derpy gasped behind me, this was no mere stone but a pony’s skull bleached white. “What could have done this?” Turning over the skull round trying to figure out what happen to it. “I don’t know Derpy but it was a good thing you left this mine in a hurry back then or you would have ended up as our poor friend here.” When I placed the skull down, I noticed a green slime blob hanging on the wall. When I moved closer to expect it the blob lunged itself onto my face dropping the torch. “Hold on Golbez I’ll get it off.” Prying off the glob off my face and tossing it onto the ground Derpy wielded her hammer and flattened the slime five times in a row. Picking up the torch I saw that dirt was falling above us then a loud rumbling sound filled through the mine. When I looked at Derpy she seemed frightened and then I saw that one of the support beams was taken out when she finished off the blob. “You have to be kidding me!” This area is going to collapse any minute now, “We need to get moving NOW!” “We can head back outside” she said turning around towards the entrance of the cave. “No it’s too dangerous” grabbing her hoof and running down the corridor narrowing dodging falling rocks and over rickety planks. “I can see some light keep running!” Half way there and the rumbling sound grew larger I turned my head to see why. Following us was a catalyst avalanche rapidly catching up to us. Right at the entrance I jump out of the way while Derpy flew upward avoiding the dirt then the entire room filled with dust. “Golbez where are you? I can’t see anything, Golbez?” Derpy called out for him until she saw a dirt pile rumble as the air settled. Walking cautiously over she examined the pile and began to poke it repeatedly. Then a hand shot out of the pile making a groaning noises scaring Derpy making her stubble and topple over backwards. Then after few seconds she realized it was Golbez’s hand and shot back up digging rapidly. “Took you’re your time trying to find me next time try and be quicker I don’t like taking dirt naps” His head sticking out from the compacted dirt. “I could leave you there if you like.” She said covering her face to contain her laughter. “I rather you not now help me out already” Expressing myself with a sigh as she began digging me out. At least there were lighting from a small hole in the ceiling and several glowing mushrooms I know that trying go back wasn’t going to be easy but this entire room was sealed and void of any possible exit. Maybe that hole above us is hiding something. “Derpy fly up there and check out that hole? Derpy?” She was nowhere in sight. “Golbez look out below!” A large object fell from the ceiling causing me to stumble backwards from the shockwave it made. The thing that fallen was some sort of plant creature but more importantly it had Derpy caged on top of it. “Derpy what did you do?” I said while getting back onto my feet. “I don’t know but I don’t feel so good” as the plats limbs pointed at her. The creature was sapping her health with its limbs, for that I sure knew. Drawing my spear I hacked away at the roots containing Derpy, grabbing her away launching a Firega spell on the head of the plant. Holding Derpy in my arms I turned to see the plant retreat into a pond. “Here drink this it will help regain your strength.” I gave her a potion and instantly she shot back up ready to fight. “Is it still here, I’ll teach it a lesson it won’t forget.” Reaching for her hammer strapped to her back. “Easy there now. It retreated into that pond I don’t think it well want to pick a fight again. Do me a favor and see what’s up there anyway” pointing up towards the ceiling. “All I found was some eye drops and some potions nothing else.” Carrying back the items and putting into the sac I brought. “That only leaves us with one way to go now” picking up the sac and walking to the pond. “There’s another way out of here?” as she followed behind me to the pond and kicked a pebble into it. “Yes but we have to follow the plant through the water only thing that bothers me is what could be on the other side. Since the plant to restore Twilights health isn’t here it only means we have to go deeper in the mine.” “I don’t like being stuck in this place to long, come on lets go.” Derpy went ahead into the pond and started swimming away. I dove in after here and proceeded diving deeper working our way through some tunnels luckily for us there seem to be an abundant source of air deposits. When we made our way upward we came to another room but all that was there a single flower on top a green mossy hill. “How can you even swim in a suit of armor Golbez?” saying as she cleared water from her eyes. “Ah well I just simply filled my suit with aero but it’s not really meant breath in but it help keep me afloat.” applying an aero to my suit to blow off the water. “I wish I was dry right now.” as she shakes her body likes a dog. At that I grinned and got her with a small aero to bad it was cold air. I gave away some lowered laughing when I was done; her mane was stretched out in a jagged way. “I knew I should have left you behind in that dirt mound.” while she walked away fixing her mane. “Ok, but you have to admit you brought it on yourself.” walking near her. She said nothing, turning her head with a puffed up face, guess I did hit a sour note. After our little talk, mostly involving a hammer, I decided to grab the flower most likely this was the one Celestia mentioned. Plucking the flower I walked towards Derpy and we started our way back into the pound. “Hey, how are we going to get out if the entrance is blocked?” she said while examining the flower in my hand. “I suppose I could blast an opening in the ceiling but it seems too risky, if I did we’ll be buried alive. We might find something to help us dig out. Who knows, maybe some of the mining tools were carried away back into the other room.” We walked over toward where the pond was but something wasn’t right. No, the top was covered by thick spiky vines witch pulsed with every movement they made. I tried to slash them away but their skin was just too dense. “Ummm, Golbez you might want to look at this.” as she hide behind my cape covering most of my face. “Not now I am trying to see I if there’s a soft spot among these vines.” She grabs me violently by the shoulders and spun me before I could shake her off. The very ground that the flower was perched upon suddenly wobble unrestrained as if a seal was broken. The thing that rose was a plant type monster but had the mouth of a coerciveness beast, its body was fat darkish green color which also pulsed with every move truly disgusting, and its arms or tentacles were vines swinging wildly by its sides. Before I could get ready one of the vines wrapped around my leg bringing me above the plants mouth. I tried to pull myself free but the more I struggled the stronger the grip became. “HURRICANE SMACHER!” out of nowhere Derpy comes in with a hazarders spinning attack following up with a cruel uppercut from her hammer. Such brutal strength, no wonder she was stationed in front of the forest to protect them. The grip had loosen enough for me to get out “Golbez can you use your magic?” Derpy said flying back to my side helping me up. “No, just like before when that plant sap your health this one sapped my magic. This is not going to be an easy fight, hope you’re ready.” picking up my spear. Pulling out a small jewel from her bag inserting it in her hammer and in a matter of seconds burst into flames “I am more than ready now.” With a Tremendous roar it had summoned two plant type mantises to fight. The both of them began to start moving franticly turning to their leader ripping one of their pedals of and placing them on it. All the wounds that Derpy had placed earlier had been removed by the healing properties of their pedals. “We have to take the mantises out before we can take care of the boss; you take the one left I’ll get the right.” Taking to the air she dived down landing a powerful sideswipe to the mantis while it was still healing, making it confused and attack randomly at anything that moved. The second mantis saw me charging at him and spat a sticky gel type substance at my feet stopping me dead. It started jumping toward me about to slash, so I grabbed my spear making a precision stab at its underside. A fading gasp along with some twitches I fling the dead body of my spear and tried to work myself free. When I looked over to Derpy she had finished off her enemy mostly blunted to death by her hammer. Then one of the bosses’ vines slammed against me right in the gut knocking the air out of me then followed by a constricting attack. It squeezed with as much force possible, everything is getting dark I can’t feel anything at all. A warm light came into vision and the world blasted into color. “Come on get up already you can’t get knocked out yet. Wake up please.” I got up in a groggy state couching as air filled my lungs “Here quickly drink this.” I drank the potion and got back to my feet before the boss could attack again. “Here one those mantises dropped this earlier while the boss was distracted.” She tossed a bottle with a pinkish type fluid and I caught it “I think this will restore your magic.” Finally now I can put up more of a fight, I drank the either regaining some of my magic. I saw one of his vines serpentine its way toward me, I jammed my lance through it and the beast let out an agonizing roar “I am not going to fall for the same trick twice.” With that the creature’s veins pulsed and bulged as its skin tone turn into a shade of red. Its vines grew sharp thorns while the mouth of the creature started to release purple smog. Roaring it began to shake violently the ground beneath started to give way as an earthquake was heading my way, Derpy decided to lift me barley off the ground before attack hit. The effect of the attack had caused a seam on the cave celling. As we hovered in placed the creature lined up a shot with its thorns flinging at us, one of the thorns had hit Derpy’s wing. She let out a yelp of pain as we both fell onto the floor, the vines creped along the floor coming closer to us. “Golbez I have an idea how to fight this thing.” swinging her hammer franticly, trying to put some distance between her and the vines. “Well what idea did you have in mind?” blocking a fury of slashes then leaping back to where she was. “Look there above the monster, the ceiling could give out any minute use your magic!” as the monster reared its mouth taking in a large quantity of air in. “I can’t by myself that even if I hit it there won’t be enough force to shatter It.” the creature began to inflate its mouth ready to unleash a breath type attack. “If force is the problem then leave to me, I want you to throw your magic right at me.” Getting in a stance where she welded her hammer over her shoulder. “Are you foolish enough to believe that this will work?!” yelling at her while trying to fend off more vines. “Trust me Golbez; please I don’t want it to end here!” Yelling at me as tears built up in her eyes. “Alright, let your aim be true and let’s end this fight.” Gathering whatever magic I had left into a high condensed Firaja, pitching it directly at Derpy. The spell had a limited time before it activates if she misses she’ll be instantly vaporized. Right when the spell was half way toward her the beast blown his poisonous gas directly at us. Right there she spun around and nailed the spell sending it at high speeds at the roof causing a large explosion to fill the room. I shielded Derpy from the blast as the creature was crushed underneath a large amount of rubble, the poison was still lingering but there was a light. We both made a run for it as the rest of the cave gave way, this was the outside, and climbing the rubble we made it out away from the site. As we both stood there beside the former cave mounds of dirt started to arise from the ground. It was the floral mantis colony wanting revenge for destroying their home, backpedaling away one of them jumped toward us and the rest followed. Running through the forest with no idea where heading we came across a strong river leading into a waterfall. There was no way of getting pass the river and the mantises were closing in. Not only have I failed to save Twilight but now Derpy well die as well. “Derpy I’m sorry for bringing you into this I wished I’ve haven’t done so please forgive me.” standing between her and the ferocities of the mantises from getting her. “I don’t blame you Golbez, I sort of had fun.” Giving me a warm smile and then looking back at the mob. One of the mantises had launched itself toward me, I closed my eyes awaiting its brutal attacks but they never came. The moment I opened my eyes a large roar ranged out, and a large figure ran by knocking down the mantis killing it. It was a mantacore keeping the mob at bay as the beast showed its teeth I noticed one of the fangs was missing. Could it really be Freddy, he looks at Derpy then me and lowers his wings gesturing us to get on. I got on while he roared again causing the mob to flinch; I pick up Derpy and placed her in front of me. When we were set I patted Freddy on the side and he turn around towards the waterfall running of the edge. Opening his wings he glided over the trees of the forest, I took a look back to see that those that tried to followed plummet down, lucky they don’t seem to have wings. “Hey Golbez do you know this Mantacore?” becoming a bit nervous of falling off him. “Yes we have met before but not with friendly intensions. When I first arrived here there was a Mantacore attack in ponyville I’m sure you heard of it. This is him Freddy, later that day I learned from Fluttershy that he wasn’t bad at all just influenced by a crystal shard. Look it’s the entrance to ponyville, listen I’ll carry you to the hospital so you can check if your wing is passable.” Freddy had landed letting us off while he ran into the forest giving us a slight glance and leaving. When we entered the hospital I held Derpy in my arms and setting her down on a chair, she had fell asleep from the time we spent together “rest easy my friend...”, viewing around I saw that Twilights friend were here walking over I handed them the flower from my bag asking to give them a doctor and to have Derpy’s wing checked. I left the hospital and waited outside only time would tell if she’ll pull through. I heard my name called out it was Twilights friends they wanted to thank me for risking my life to do what I did but also scolded me for bring Derpy into it. In the mist of their chatting I’ve began to become heavy-eyed and fell asleep slanted aside the wall. When I came to some of them were carrying me towards Fluttershy’s house, I got off of them and walked with Fluttershy waving goodbye to her friends. When we entered her house I entered her guest room and removed my armor placing them onto a nearby chair, then fell asleep shortly. I hope that the flowered I obtained was correct because tomorrow would be a sad day if not.
