All his life, Spike has done nothing but work, and has never complained. But he never experienced an actual childhood yet. But that's about to change when the mane six take things a bit to far.

All his life, Spike has worked his scales off, sometimes literally. For the mane six, with no gratitude or thanks for what he does. One day, as Spike is about to go and participate in a talent show, all of the mane six dump work on him as they went off to a Wonderbolt show, and once Spike finishes the chores, also helping some of the citizens along the way. He then runs into the mane six who dump MORE work on him and run off to Sugarcube corner, Spike just falls to his knee's and cries.

The next day however, Big Mac calls a meeting with a few of the citizens and brings Spike with him, they all agree to hide Spike and cover him from the mane six, while he goes off to be what he should be doing. Be a kid.

By Dizty Doo

This poster was stuck to the wall of town hall, for all to see, and a pile of brochures next to the posters. Looking in awe of the poster, was baby dragon, purples scales, Green spikes and underbelly, carrying a scroll in his hand. His name was Spike, Twilight Sparkles number one assistant.

" I gotta tell Twilight!" Spike said as he grabbed a brochure and ran towards Golden Oaks Library.

Now, when Spike first arrived in Ponyville. Most didn't expect much of him. But as time went on they saw the dragon had strength and potential, and he was a very good, hard worker. He would always help them when they needed some help.

Spike rushed thought the busy Ponyville, waving to folks as they passed by and waved to him. He then arrived at Ponyville Library and busted in, he saw the mane six all sitting around a table drinking tea.

"Oh Spike, there you are!" Twilight said. The drake panted as he tried to talk.

"Twilight.'puff'. I. 'Puff'-"

"Oh, Spike. I need you to sort the books out. We did a bit of book hunting."

"And Spiky Wikey, could you go to the boutique and sort out the gems dear?" Rarity said, Twilight then levitated a quill, ink and paper.

"Yeah, can ya also pick up Scoots Scooter from the repair shop? And drop it off at there clubhouse." Dash said.

"And while ya there, can ya help Applebloom with little missy?" Applejack asked.

"Then can you pick up the cake Twins from Lyra and Bonbon? They were babysitting for me and the Cakes." Pinkie said.

"And, can you feed Angel...if you don't mind." Fluttershy said.

"Right, done. Here you go Spike!" Twilight said levitating to Spike, who had stopped panting and just had his law dropped.

"We're going to Canterlot for a while. Complete these in time and you can Join us there!" Twilight said as she and the mane six got up and left the building.

"Bye Spike!" Twilight said as the door closed. The drake just stared at the list with shrunken eyes. He stared at it until he finally sighed and looked at the mess of Books Twilight and the girls had made.

He slowly and carefully put the books away before sliding down the ladder and landing on the ground, he grabbed a nearby quill and ticked it off. He sighed before walking out the door and towards the boutique.

As he walked along, he noticed the mayor run up to him.

"Spike! I need help!" She said as she stopped.

"What is it?"

"I need you to send this message to Princess Celestia for me. It is an invite to judge in the talent show." Mayor Mare said.

"Of coarse." Spike said as he took the paper and burned it into smile, that floated away to Canterlot.

"Were you interested in joining?" Mayor Mare asked.

"Yes, I was actually!"

"Oh, well, when you get the reply. Some down to town hall and say 'Mayor Mare sent me'." She said.

"Okay."

"Thank you Spike, your a lifesaver." Mayor Mare said. Right before rushing back off into town square. Spike then continued his trek for the boutique.

As he arrived, he walked in to see a huge chests of gems, he drooled at the thought of there taste. He shook it off and started to sort them out, as he did. He noticed Sweetie Belle walk up next to him.

"Hey Spike!" She said.

"Hey Sweetie Belle."

"What are you doing?" She asked.

"Your sister asked me to sort these gems out." He said, putting them into piles.

"Can I help?" She asked.

"Sure." He said as the two started to sort them out, they were halfway there when Sweetie Belle asked a question.

"Hey, what do you know about Featherwieght?"

" I don't know. I don't really know any other kids my age. Except for you, Scootaloo and Applebloom."

"Oh, ok." She said as she look disappointed, but wiped it off as the two finished.

"Well that was tiring." Sweetie Belle said.

"Yeah." Spike said, right as he belched up a reply.

"It must be a message for Mayor Mare." He said.

"I gotta go Sweetie Belle. Thanks for helping." Spike said as he opened the door.

"Bye Spike! Thanks for the company!" She said as Spike left. He walked through town until he reached town hall. He walked int brought and not the receptionist offices.

"You have an appointment?" The receptionist asked.

"Mayor Mare sent me." He said, the receptionist nodded and pointed to the door, which lead to a hall with two double doors at the end. Spike knocked and then walked through, seeing Mayor Mare at her desk.

"Ah, Spike. Did you get the reply?" She asked.

"Yep. Here you go." Spike said handing her the message, she opened it and read it over, a smile growing on her face.

"It looks like the Princess has agreed to judge at the talent show." She said with a smile, she then put It away and pulled out a form.

"So you want to join in the talent show?" Mayor Mare asked.

"Yes." Spike said.

"Well, just fill up this form and your ready to go!" She said handing him a quill as well. He began to write and fill the blanks and boxes before giving it back to her.

"Alright, see you on Friday." Mayor Mare said, Spike nodded before walking out.

As he entered the repair store, he was greeted by a stallion.

"Hello, what can I get for you?"

"I'm here to pick up a scooter." Spike replied.

"Is it blue with red handlebars?"

"Yep." Spike said, the stallion went into the back and brought back the scooter. Spike took it, but then saw a skateboard.

"How much is that for?" Spike asked.

"About seventy-five bits." The stallion said, Spike just sighed and carried the scooter on his shoulders. And walked out the door.

He headed over to Sweet Apple Acres, he walked throughout he gate and ran into Big Macintosh. He was carrying a cart full of Apples to take to the apple stand.

"Hey Big Mac." Spike said.

"Howdy Spike. Watcha doin' here?" He asked.

"I have to deliver Scootaloo's scooter to the clubhouse and then help Applebloom with little missy." Spike said.

"Ya wanted to help us out on the farm?" Big Mc asked.

"No. Although I don't mind the farm, your sister and her friends all gave me chores while there up in Canterlot." Spike said.

"Oh, well good luck with little missy. It's difficult to get her clean." Big Mac said. Spike just nodded.

"Yeah, see ya Big Mac." Spike said as he waved to him and walked through the fields. He then reached the clubhouse and put the scooter against the tree. He then walked away to the barn to see a giant pig with a bow covered in mud. Next to it was Applebloom holding a brush.

"Howdy Spike!" Applebloom waved.

"Hey Applebloom, I'm here to help." Spike said.

"Great! Cleaning her up is harder then getting Scootaloo to stop talking about Rainbkw Dash." Applebloom said with a giggle. Spike also chuckled.

"Alright, lets get this done." Spike said.

(One minute later.)

She had been entirely clean as Spike was covered in mud. Applebloom giggling at Spike's appearence.

"Yeah, yeah. Ha ha." Spike said as he ticked off the three chores he had just completed.

"Do ya think you can help us with the apple cart today?" Applebloom asked.

"Sorry, your sister and her friends all want me to finish this list." He said.

"Oh, well thanks for helping me anyway Spike." Applebloom said giving him a hug, he slowly returned the hug until they broke apart.

"Bye Applebloom." Spike said, noticing her cheeks slightly grow rosy. But then walked off back into Ponyville.

Spike then walked up to Lyra and Bonbon's house and knocked on the door. Lyra then answered.

"Hey Spike." She said.

"Hey, I'm here to pick up the twins."

"But, shouldn't Pinkie Pie be doing that?"

"She's in Canterlot with the rest of the girls." Spike said.

"So your here to pick them up? Aren't you the same age as those fillies? The Cutie Mark Crusaders." Lyra said.

"Yeah, but I'm Twilight's number one assistant. It's my job." Spike said, Lyra then nodded and looked behind her.

"Bonbon, Spike's here to pick up the twins." Lyra said.

"Shouldn't Pinkie Pie come and get them?"

"She's in Canterlot."

Bonbon then and through with a pram with two sleeping toddlers.

"Here you go." Bonbon said as Spike barely reached the handle bars.

"Alright, bye!" Spike said as he started to walk away with the twins. He made it all the way to Sugarcube corner. When he knocked on the door, Mrs.Cake answered the door.

"Oh hello Spike. Thank you for bringing the twins back." Mrs.Cake said taking the foals out and putting them onto her back.

"Your welcome Mrs.Cake.what should I do with this?" Spike said.

"Oh, just push that behind the counter, I'll take care of it deary." She said, and Spike did just that.

"Again, thank you dear." Mrs.Cake said.

"No problem. Bye." Spike said walking out of Sugarcube corner and towards Fluttershy's home.

As he walked through the door and saw angel taping his foot on a table.

"What do you want?" Spike asked, Angel open his mouth and pointed inside his mouth, then pointed to a picture of a ridiculous dish. Spike just walked into the kitchen and grabbed a bunch of carrots. He chucked them at Angels feet.

"You can have those or starve." Spike said as he walked out, he ducked as a carrot flied overhead. He smiled in satisfaction as he ran back to the library.

As he burst through, he quickly grabbed the flier he had and was about to head out but he saw the girls were back.

"Oh hi Spike. We just got back. Good job, although you placed 'starswill the bearded spells Volume IV' with III." Twilight said.

"Anyway, can you clean up the mess we made this morning?" Twilight asked, without letting Spike talk. She then noticed the paper in his hand.

"What's this?" She asked as she grabbed it with her magic, Spike tried to stop her but she read it all before sighing.

"I'm sorry Spike, but you can't join. I need someone to watch the library while we join Princess Celestia there." Spike's jaw dropped.

"Well, were going to head to Sugarcube corner. Bye Spike." Twilight said as the girls left. Spike walked to the door and reached out to them. He slowly lowered his arm and fell to his knee's, with tears in his ears.

"Why?.."

He yelled into the sky.

"Why!?"

He then started to cry and sob. As he did, Applebloom and Big Mac who was still carrying the cart to the apple stand, Applebloom looked up at Big Mac. He nodded and pushed her into Spike's direction as she ran up to Spike and started to hug him. He hugged back as his tears fell down her shoulders.

Big Mac continued his way to the apple stand, where he dropped the cart and started to go around Ponyville. Spike needed help. And he would get it.

The meeting.

Spike wiped his eye from a tear as he stopped hugging Applebloom.

"Will ya be okay Spike?" She asked.

"Yeah, I'm a tough dragon. I'll make it through." Spike said, Applebloom still gave him a concerned look.

"Are ya sure?"

"Yeah, yeah." He said.

"Alright-but ya know ah'm not to far away." She said, giving him a quick hug before running to her apple stand.

After a while and as Spike had finished cleaning the table, he heard a knock on the door. He opened it to see Big Mac standing there.

"Hey Big Mac, what are you doin' here."

Big Mac just signalled him to follow him. As he turned and left, Spike did just that. He followed until they arrived at a building a music note on it, along with a sign saying 'intruders will be blown away by a bass cannon'. Big Mac entered first followed by Spike.

Inside, Spike saw a bunch of ponies, some he had already seen today. There was Lyra, Bonbon, Mayor Mare, Mr and Mrs.Cake, Dizty Doo, and Vinyl Scratch.

"So why'd you call us here Big Mac?" Bonbon asked.

"Well ah saw Spike here cryin' his eyes out after mah sister and her friends left. Ah wanted to know why he was. And as he has helped y'all one way or another, ya might wanna know to." He said as he moved away to reveal a blushing Spike.

"Why'd you say I was crying?" Spike asked Big Mac.

"Because you were." He said with a smile.

"Wait, why were you crying?" Lyra asked.

"Because after doing everything they ask me to, they give me more work." Spike said.

"Who?" Dizty asked.

"The girls! You know, the six mares who usually get into trouble." Spike said, a collective group of "ahh's" was heard from them.

"Well, we all need to do jobs. But don't worry, you also get time to spend with your friends." Mayor Mare said.

"But I don't get time to hang out with friends." Spike said.

"Sorry, what!?" Mayor Mare asked.

"Yeah, I'm always given work by Twilight or the others. I've never even hanged out with colts my age." Spike said.

"Well, at least you get paid right?" Vinyl Scratch said.

"No, actually I don't."

"Seriously?"

"Yeah."

"But, I've seen you get some bits from ponies around town for the odd jobs you do. Surely you have some bits." Mayor Mare said.

"Actually, every time I come home. Twilight takes my bits and says she's 'saving for when she won't be around'." Spike said, getting a bit angry.

" but ah've nearly always see her leave the house all the time." Big Mac said.

"Yeah, but you know something else. She says she's thinking I should start paying rent.

"But your only a kid!" Mr.Cake said.

"I know, that's what I said, but she just said 'you need to know how to be responsible' ." Spike said trying his best to mimic Twilight.

"Well, do you at least get breaks?" Mrs.Cake said.

"I try, but the only time it seems I can is when I go to sleep."

"Hey wait, didn't you spend that one day trying to help Applejack?" Bonbon said.

"Yeah, as I was in the Everfree. I thought about actually going to make some new friends. But then Those Timberwolves came after me." Spike said.

"So what happened after that?"

"They tried to get me to stop helping her all the time by faking a timberwolf, attack." Spike said.

"So, you help them and dedicate your entire time to help her. And they s
Try to stop you? And yet now they still give you work?" Vinyl asked.

"Yeah, basically." Spike said.

"What the heck?" She just said.

"Have you at least been gone on some of there adventures?" Mrs.Cake asked.

"Actually, I was left behind from the young fliers completion, Twilight and Pinkie's birthday parties. And I think some other stuff, I can't remember." Spike said.

"Really?why?" Dizty asked.

"Because Twilight was studying up late and I had to clean up the mess." Spike said.

"Well, you at least listen to music and play games right?" Vinyl asked.

"No, Twilight thinks that music will distract me from my chores."

"Really, because when I work, I listen to music. And it actually helps me a bit." Lyra said.

"Yeah, I tried to compromise but she just kept on saying no." Spike said.

"Video games?"

"I don't know any games because I never get any free time. In fact, you know that time I helped Applejack? I asked Twilight to become her servant, she was to busy in a book to care about what I said. But I learned that all I had to do was slightly move some ink and she would snap out of it."

"Why is it that the Ink was more important than, oh I don't know. A Dragon!" Lyra said.

"I don't know." Spike said.

"And wait, you saved the crystal empire didn't you!?" Mr.Cake said.

"Yep."

"Didn't ya get anything?" Big Mac said.

"No, they broke out into a song about Twilight's passed test." Spike said.

"Where's my bass cannon!?" Vinyl scratch yelled.

"Everypony, I have a preposition!" Mayor Mare said. Calming them down

"How about we trick those six that Spike has gone away, while we actually hid Him from them as he actually has fun."

"What do you mean?" Spike asked.

"Well, what I mean is. It's time for you to be a kid, will give you some bits and let you actually get some friends and have fun!" Everypony in the room seemed to agree and nodded.

"Really!? So-"

"You won't have to do any chores, or any ridiculous requests. Just to go out there, make friends and have fun." Mayor Mare said.

"But what about the Cutie Mark Crusaders?"

"Ah'll tell them about it, make 'em Pinkie Promise on it." Big Mac said.

"What will I tell Twilight?" Spike said.

"Royal business or something in Canterlot." Vinyl Scratch.

"Ok, but where will I stay?" He asked.

"You can stay with us, we have a guest room." Lyra said. Bonbon nodded.

"Alright. Oh, and Mayor Mare? Twilight might come around to make sure I'm not in the taken show.-"

"-you won't be cut out, no matter what. I'll just tell her I did." She said.

"Thank you. All of you." Spike said smiling. The others nodded.

"Well drop off the bits tomorrow." Mayor Mare said, Lyra and Bonbon nodded.

"Alright, well. I think it's time we all head home." Mrs.Cake said. Everypony nodded as they started to leave. Except Vinyl Scratch since it was her home.

Spike, Lyra and Bonbon quickly headed over to the library. Spike rushed in, grabbed a piece of paper, and quill and began to write.

Dear Twilight
I have been called to do some royal business in Canterlot. I am unsure as to when I will return.
From Spike the dragon.

As he finished, he put it on the desk and ran out. He saw Lyra and Bonbon waiting for him, he nodded as the three rushed away from the Library.

They soon arrived at the house as they opened the door. Spike walked in first followed by Lyra then Bonbon.

"Come on Spike, I'll show you to your room." Lyra said walking up the stairs, followed by Spike.

His room was the second door on the right, it seemed like a simp,e room, bed, bedside table, desk and a drawer.

"Well, this is your room." She then noticed the moon was rising.

"If you want to start tomorrow early, you'd better get into bed." Lyra said, Spike nodded in understanding as he flopped onto the bed.

"Goodnight Spike." Lyra said as she walked out. Spike didn't even get under the covers before he fell asleep. And in a long time, with a smile.

The first day

Spike woke up with the sun shining onto his scales, he slowly got out of bed and walked out of the room. He saw Lyra sitting on the couch watching the television, she saw the drake come out of the room and smiled.

"Morning Spike." She said, Spike just yawned and scratched his back.

"I haven't slept like that in a while. What time is it anyway?" He asked.

"About 9:45." She said, Spike then panicked.

"Oh no! I overslept!" He said, Lyra giggled a little bit and spoke.

"Spike, some kids sleep until eleven in the morning. Don't worry." Spike then calmed down. Bonbon then walked in.

"You know, I just released something. If your a kid Spike, shouldn't you go to school now?" She said with a grin. But Spike just jumped into the air with a fist bump.

"Yes!"

"Really!? You want to go to school?" Lyra asked.

"Yeah, it's probably the only chance I can actually meet some friends. Sure throes some work, but I've lived in a library for a very long time. I can handle it." He said, Bonbon smiled.

"Alright then, I'll tell Cheerilee about enlisting you today." Bonbon said as she was about to walk out.

"Can you make sure she doesn't tell Twilight or the others that I'm here?" Spike asked, Bonbon nodded.

"Of coarse, also there's some breakfast for you on the table." She said as she finally walked out, she noticed the bag at the door. She knew it must of been the bits the Mayor talked about it, she pulled out some bits of her own and poured them in. She then walked back into the house to see Spike eating his breakfast at the table.

"Here Spike. These are yours now." Bonbon said as she placed the bag of bits next to Spike. He Gulped down what food he had in his mouth a spoke.

"Thank you Bonbon." He said, she nodded and then left the house.

Spike then finished his breakfast, put The plate in the sink, and grabbed his bag of bits.

"I'm heading out now Lyra." Spike said.

"Alright, look out for you know who." She said. Spike then walked outside and started to move.

As he walked through Ponyville, he noted that he stay clear of the farmers market, Applejack would probably see him instantly. So he decided to find some stores where he could get some stuff. He soon came to a clothes store and walked in, he saw a lot of clothes on display for colts and fillies. But one stood out from the rest. It was a blue hoodie that seemed to be design for someone like him.

"So, ya like the Blue one here?"

Spike turned around to see what must of been the clerk of the store.

"Um, yeah." Spike said.

"Well this here costs fourty bits. But for you, I think maybe about twenty-five."

"Alright." Spike said, the clerk then grabbed the hood and walked over to the counter, Spike followed. As the clerk pressed some buttons on the cash register, he pulled out twenty-five bits from the bag and out it on the counter. He then grabbed the hoodie of the clerk and put it on. He put the remaining bits in his pocket on his hoodie.

He then walked out of the store and headed towards the park. As he did, he thought about what to do next. Just then, he bumped into someone as they both fell. Spike slowly got up to see three colts. Featherwieght, Rumble and Pipsquek.

"Oh, sorry about that." Spike said.

"No it's alright...hey, aren't you that dragon who nearly tore down the town?" Featherweight asked, Spike looked away, remembering the memories that went into his mind from that day. He shook it off and rubbed the back of his head.

"Yeah, I don't like to talk about it." He said.

"So what are you doing out here? We usually see you run around town." Rumble said.

"Yeah, because Twilight kept on giving me work I never really could play." He said, the colts then understood.

"That sucks." Rumble said.

"So listen, we where heading over to Sugarcube Corner. Ya wanna join us?" Pipsquek asked.

"Maybe, depends on who's there." Spike said.

"What do you mean?" Featherwieght asked.

"I'll explain when we get there." Spike said, soon the four boys headed there way to Sugarcube Corner.

Before they entered, Spike signalled them to stop. They did as Spike climbed up and looked through the window, no sign of Pinkie or any of the other girls. He sighed in relief and saw Mrs.Cake looking at him through the window, she smiled and signalled for him to come in. He hopped down and he, plus the three colts, all walked through the door.

"Hello Spike." Mrs.Cake said.

"Hey Mrs.Cake." Spike said, she then noticed the other three.

"Do they know about-"

"-I'm just about to tell them." Spike said, she smiled warmly at them.

"So what can I get you boys?" She asked.

"I'll have a lemonade." Featherwieght said.

"Milkshake please." Pipsqueak said.

"Soda." Rumble said.

"Hmm...I Think I'll have a lemonade to." Spike said.

"Sure. That'll be eleven bits." Mrs.Cake said, all the colts and drake pulled out there own bits and put them on the counter. Mrs.Cake then took and counted all the bits, then put them into the register.

"I'll get them right away. You just sit tight and I'll be right back." She said as she went to collect the drinks. The four then walked over to a quarter booth and slide into place.

"So why where ya looking through the window for Spike?" Pipsquek asked.

"Well, I'll tell you. It started out as something like this." Spike began. He then explained about the six mares and Mayor Mares plan.

"Wow, that sucks." Rumble said. Just then, Mrs.Cake came in holding a tray with a milkshake and three cans. She placed each drink in front of each boy.

"Here you go. Enjoy." She said as she walked away. The boys each taking a sip out from there drink, they smiled in satisfactory. Spike also seemed to be excited.

"That was good!" Spike said.

"It's like you've never had lemonade before." Featherwieght said.

"I haven't, Twilight never let me." Spike said. Before they could reply, the three cutie mark crusaders and Dinky walked through the door.

"Hey guys!" Scootaloo said as the four walked over to them.

"Hey, what are you girls doing here?" Rumble asked as they all took there seats.

"We saw ya four come in and decided to join ya. Big Mac told us earlier today 'bout the plan so dontcha worry Spike, ya secrets safe with us." Applebloom said.

"Thank girls." He said right before Mrs.Cake came back up to the table.

"What can I get you?" She asked.

"Ah'll just have an apple juice." Applebloom said.

"Soda please." Scootaloo said.

"I'll have some cherry soda." Sweetie belle said.

"I guess I'll have a banana milkshake." Dinky said.

"Alright, I'll be back." Mrs.Cake said. Soon as she left, Bonbon burst through the door and looked around frantically until she saw Spike.

"Spike, get down! Pinkie's coming!" She said. Spike chocked on his lemonade as he ducked under the table as the colts tried there best to block him from sight. Soon the pink mare bounced through the door and up to the counter maned by Mr.Cake now as Mrs.Cake was getting the fillies drinks.

"Hi Mr.Cake! Can I have Twilight's order?" She asked, the stallion pulled out a basket from the corner.

"Here you go Pinkie."

"Thanks Mr.Cake, Twilight wanted to see the girls and me for some reason." She said as she bounced out of the door.

"All clear." Bonbon said as Spike emerged from under the table.

"That was close." He said, taking a sip of his lemonade.

"Anyway Spike, I talked to Cheerilee. Your going to school tomorrow, and She'll tell the other students a different story." She said.

"Really?" He asked.

"Yep. Anyway, I have to go home and check up on Lyra. See you back there Spike" She said as she left the bakery and as Mrs.Cake same up with the fillies drinks.

"Here you go." She said as she placed them to each filly, she then left the group to be by themselves.

"So Spike, anything interesting?" Featherwieght asked.

"Well..." Spike and the group talked through the day until it was time for them to head home. They all said goodbye and agreed to meet up at recess tomorrow. Spike walked through the door to see Lyra.

"Hey Spike, nice hood."

"Thanks." He said.

"Dinner's ready." she said as the two went into the dining area with Bonbon waiting. The three finished dinner as Spike decided to hit the hay. He walked to his room, hanged his hoodie up. And laid down in the bed and fell asleep.

To him, he had quite a successful day. He would be going to school, new clothes, new friends, and much more opportunities for him to act like a kid.

Spike's day at School

View Online

Spike woke up with a knock at his door.

“Wake up Spike, remember you have school today.” He heard Bonbon’s voice. He slowly sat up, stretched and yawn. Right before he picked up his hoodie and walked into the kitchen. As he got there, Lyra had already made some breakfast.

“Hey Spike, eat up.” She said as she placed it on the table. Spike licked his lips and started to devour his meal. Bonbon soon walked in with a bag with books, pencils and pens in it, along with Spike’s food. Spike finished his breakfast as he was handed the bag.

“Here you go Spike. This should be enough for your classes.” Bonbon said.

“Thanks. So when do I have to be there?” he asked.

“Umm…about twenty minutes.” Lyra said looking at the clock. Spike started to sweat a little.

“And How far is it?” Spike asked.

“I think. About ten minutes. Give or take.” Lyra said. Spike wiped his forehead in relief.

“Oh good. I won’t be late then.” Spike said. He waved goodbye to Lyra and Bonbon as he headed out for the school grounds.

He soon saw a red building with a playground next to it. He then noticed a lot of other ponies dropping off colts and fillies. Two he knew coming from the Right.

“Uh Oh. It’s Rarity and Applejack!”

Spike looked for a place to find. Before seeing a bush in front of a tree. He quickly ran and jumped into the bush and leaned against the tree. Hoping he wasn’t seen by them. He soon heard there voices pass by.

“So, ya got any orders lately?”

“Oh, just a few. I wish Spike where here to help me.”

“Yeah, but ya know what Twilight said.”

“Ah Yes. Spike away on royal business and all. But don’t you think he would have told us how long he would be gone for?”

“Probably. Must’ve been in a rush.”

“Well, at least we can go visit him in Canterlot.”

As the voices faded away, Spike started to panic again. He realized that he needed to get the princesses on board if it was to be kept a secret. He popped his head out to make sure they were out of sight before walking towards the school gate.

“Alright, alright. Calm down. You can do it after school. But before that you need to let the rest know as well.”

“Hey Spike!” he looked up to see Applebloom waving at him.

“Come on already.” She said, Spike then quickly rushed over as the bell rang.

As Spike entered. He saw the foals enter into the classroom as Ms.Cheerilee stood there, smiling to all the students as they headed for their desks. She spotted Spike as the last student walked in, she walked over to him and spoke.

“It’s nice to see you here Spike. Bonbon told me all about what is going on. Don’t worry. Your secret is safe with me.” She said, Spike nodded.

“Alright. Thank you.” He said as he followed her into the classroom.

He saw multiple fillies and colts in desks talking to each other. They soon stopped when they heard Ms.Cheerilee clearing her throat.

“Good morning class. I would like to introduce Spike. He is new here and I’d like for you all to give him a warm welcome.” Ms.Cheerilee said.

“Hi Spike!” most of the class said. Two certain fillies did not.

“Now go take a seat next to Rumble and Pipsqueak, and we can start the lesson.” Ms.Cheerilee said. Spike nodded and happily sat in the desk next to his new friends he made yesterday.

“Alright, now turn you math’s books to page 24.” Ms.Cheerilee said. And the lessons went on from there. First math, which Applebloom was able to answer every question that was placed on the board correctly. Next was History, which Spike was able to get through nicely until the recess bell went off.

As Spike exited the building and onto the play area, he saw the Cutie Mark Crusaders, Rumble, Pipsqueak and Featherweight behind the playground. He began to walk but his path was block by the two ponies who didn’t say hi to him early. Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon.

“Well, if it isn’t the baby.” Diamond said. Spike had already known about these two, and the trouble they give to the Cutie Mark Crusaders.

“Well, in dragon years, yeah.” Spike said calmly. He didn’t want to have to deal with them right now.

“Ah, so does the baby want a little nap? Or a baby bottle?” Diamond says.

“Look, I quite frankly don’t have time for you. You’re not worth it. So I’m just going to go.” He said as he walked pass them. Ignoring any rebuts Diamond Tiara to throw at him. He was soon sitting with the CMC and the colts.

“Guys, we got a problem.” Spike said.

“What? Diamond and Spoon? Just ignore them.” Rumble said.

“No, I know that. But I overheard your two sisters talking.” He said pointing to Applebloom and Sweetie Belle. “And they said they can go and visit the princesses anytime. And since I said I was on Royal business. They’ll find out eventually.” He finished. Causing a mild panic among the group.

“What are we going to do?” Pipsqueak asked.

“Ah don’t know. Ah don’t want Spike ta go back ta working. We’ve barely gotten ta hang out with him.” Applebloom said, getting a bit closer to Spike.

“Wait. Can’t you message Celestia with your breath?” Sweetie Belle asked.

“Yeah, that’s a part of the plan. After school I need to talk to the adults about this and get them to help me write the letter. Afterwards, let’s just hope she says yes.” He said, every pony nodded right before the bell rang.

After two more subjects, Lunch, two final subjects. Ms.Cheerilee was finishing the school lesson.

“Okay children. I have a tiny assignment for you due friday.” She said, the class groaned.

“Don’t worry, it isn’t too big. Our last lesson we talked about theories and possible universes. I would just like for you to write about what you think about other universes, and do you believe they exist or not.” As she finished. The school bell rang. All the kids gathered their books and walked outside.

“Have a great Afternoon!” Miss Cheerilee said.

“Aright guys. I have to go. See you later.” Spike said.

“OK! Meet us at the clubhouse once you’re done!” Scootaloo yelled as Spike ran away. Spike didn’t have to worry about running into the Mane six at the school since the CMC usually leave there bags at the clubhouse before picking them up when they have to go home.

Spike rushed through Ponyville until he reached Lyra and Bonbon’s house. He quickly busted through the door and into his room. He placed his bag on his desk for later.

“Spike! I think you nearly broke the door.” He heard Bonbon’s voice. He blushed and shyly walked out to see the door nearly off its hinges. He grinned sheepishly as Bonbon sighed. While Lyra walked in looking amazed.

“Wow. What was so important you had to nearly break the door?” Lyra asked.

“Oh yeah! Can you gather up the others and meet me at the Town hall.” Spike asked.

“Why?”

“Because I have something important to say.” He said.

“…Alright. Lyra, go get the cakes and Big Mac. I’ll take Spike here with me to get Vinyl and Dizty?” Bonbon asked.

“Yeah sure. See you guys later.” She said as she walked out the door. Bonbon let Spike into her back as she closed the door behind her.

“Hopefully you didn’t break the lock.” She said as Spike rubbed the back of his head.

Soon, all six ponies and one dragon where outside of Mayor Mare’s office.

“The Mayor will see you now.” The Receptionist said as the group got up and entered the office.

“Hello everypony…and dragon. What brings you here?” Mayor Mare asked.

“Spike said he had something important to say. To all of us.” Bonbon stated. The drake hopped off of Bonbon’s back and cleared his throat.

“First, Thank you guys for all you’ve done for me so far.”

“Don’t worry little guy.” Vinyl said.

“And secondly. There is one flaw in our little plan.” Spike said.

“And what is that?” Mayor Mare asked.

“This morning, I overhead Rarity and Applejack. Who both said the girls can go visit Celestia whenever they wanted. So if they do, they’ll notice I’m not there. Get suspicious and we might get some royal guards searching for me.” He spoke. Looks of worry where passed around the room.

“But there is something we could do. And that’s where I need your help in this. Mayor, do you have one of the parchments Twilight usually sends me to get?” Spike asked. She nodded and pulled out a scroll.

“Okay. So all we have to do is explain to them about our plan. And hopefully she will be on board.” Spike said.

“Alright, do we all agree with Spike’s plan?” Mayor Mare asked. They all said ‘ay’ and raised their hooves. Soon they had the scroll finished and ready for shipping. Spike grabbed it and blew fire at it. Causing it to turn into smoke and fly out of the window.

hope Twilight didn’t see that. Spike thought.

“Alright. Hopefully she agree’s.” Spike said

“Thank you all for doing this for me. This wouldn’t of happened without you.” He said. They all smiled and gave him a group hug.

“Hmm…oh yeah! Big Mac, can I come with you back to Sweet Apple acres? I’m going to meet up with the crusaders.”

“Eeyup.”

“Thanks.”

“In that case, please be back by sundown Spike.” Bonbon said, Spike nodded.

“No worries.” He said

Soon the ponies went back to their normal jobs. While Spike was hiding under a bucket in a cart that Big Mac was pulling back to Sweet Apple Acres. He didn’t want to get spotted by Applejack or one of the other girls since Big Mac went through the market. Big Mac Walked through the white gate of Sweet Apple Acres and whistled to Spike.

“Here’s ya stop.” Spike hopped out from the cart filled with empty buckets and onto the ground. He shook himself to wake up.

“Thanks Big Mac.” Spike said.

“Eeyup.” He said before picking up the fallen buckets and continuing on his daily routines. Meanwhile Spike headed for the Clubhouse. Excited for hanging out with friends for the first time. While he did sometimes go with the mane six, it wasn’t mostly for fun.

JELLY!!!

Spike soon found himself right outside of the CMC clubhouse. He then walked up the steps and knocked on the door. The door opened to reveal Applebloom.

“Spike, ya here!”

She gave Spike a quick hug. He returned it before the two quickly stopped and blushed.

“Come in.” she said as Spike walked in. he saw the rest of the CMC and the colts as well. They all said hi as he sat at the table.

“Alright, what are we going to do today?” Sweetie Belle asked.

“We could go hiking.” Featherweight suggested.

“Nah, last time I nearly lost my head.” Rumble said.

“Good point.”

“We also have to stay clear of the main part of town.” Spike said.

“Actually, mah sister told me that she was going to a picnic over by a hill just outside of town.” Applebloom said
.
“So, we can do anything in town, but also have to look out for the hill.” Spike said.

“Pretty much.” Scootaloo said.

“Well, let’s go see if there’s anything to do in town.” Pipsqueak said.

Scootaloo hooked up a red cart with her scooter and put her helmet on. Dinky, Applebloom and Sweetie Belle jumped into the cart and put on their helmets. Rumble pulled out from behind the tree a wooden cart and placed it near the top of the hill. It had four seats, with one in front of a steering wheel and a pedal which had a brick on it. With the three other chairs in a row behind it. Rumble got into the front while Pipsqueak and Featherweight got in the back.

“Wow! How’d you get this?” Spike asked.

“My Brother knows a guy. Apparently.” Rumble said.

“Get in already.” Featherweight said. Spike shook his head and quickly hopped in.

“Hey Rumble! Race ya to town.” Scootaloo said.

“You’re on!” Rumble said as he removed the brick and the pedal lifted. As Scootaloo rolled down the hill. The cart slowly began to move.

“I don’t think this is a good ideaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!” Spike shouted as the cart started to speed up dramatically and continued to become airborne for short periods of time.

“Slow down Rumble! You’ll kill us!” Pipsqueak said.

“Calm down, I’m nearly ahead of Scootaloo.” Rumble said as he piloted the cart.
As they zipped past Scootaloo, catching her off guard. The colts soon found themselves of the trees and onto the main path. The open gate just up ahead.

“Rumble! Stop this thing!” Featherweight yelled.

“Don’t worry. I can get us through the gate.”

“I really hope you do. I haven’t gotten wings yet!” Spike shouted.

As the cart rushed forward. Rumble grinned with excitement as the other three in the back all had looks of worry. And slowly started to yell louder and louder as they got closer and closer to the gate.

Spike closed his eyes, his life flashing before his eyes. He raised his arms and screamed at the top of his voice. He was expecting for him to start flying any moment. But as time passed, nothing seemed to change in his bumpy ride. He opened his eyes to find they were on a clear path onto Ponyville. He looked behind him to see the gate and Scootaloo catching up.

“Yes! Rumble did it!” cheered Spike. The other two looked up to see the path and cheered for Rumble.

“Didn’t even break a sweat.” He said.

“Yeah, but can you also remember you have a brake!” Spike said. Rumble just chuckled.

“It’s ok Spike. Don’t worry, we’re still alright aren’t we?”

“Yeah, we’re okay.” Spike replied.

“I swear we should have fallen off of this thing at least once. But at least we didn’t crash into-“

“Jelly ahead!” Featherweight said. They all saw at least three huge glass bottles of jelly. They were too close for them to brake so Rumble quickly turned and shouted.

“Jump!”

The four colts were able to jump of in time before the cart smashed two of the three bottles of class. Also dismembering the cart into splinters and shards of wood.

The colts were thankful they were near some soft grass to soften the landing. Scootaloo and the fillies stopped in front of them. All checking on the colts and drake. They were all fine of course, but Rumbles cart was destroyed.

“No offence Rumble, but ether your brother failed construction or he knows a terrible carpenter.” Spike said.

“None taken.” Rumble said.

“Hey guys. Whose Jelly was that anyway?” Featherweight asked.

“Haven’t we seen that before Sweetie Belle?” Applebloom asked.

A stallion cover in jelly popped up from the last remaining bottle. He look at what was his jelly.

“NOOO! MY JELLY!” he cried as he hopped out of the bottle and picked up some of the broken glass.

“No..No…” he whispered before noticing the seven creped out foals and creped out drake.

“You. You did this?” the stallion asked.

“Guys, he’s seriously creping me out.” Rumble Whispered

“You’re not the only one.” Pipsqueak Whispered back.

“You did this to me…now you will PAY!!” he shouted as he snorted and kicked up dirt. The group of fillies, colts and one drake got ready to run away.

“Guys? I think we better-“

“For JELLY!” the stallion shouted before raging on for the group. They quickly split into two groups. Spike, Applebloom, Pipsqueak and Dinky went one way, trying to get back to Sweet Apple Acres. Going as fast as their hooves and feet will take them.

And Rumble, Sweetie, Scootaloo and Featherweight tried to head into town to seek shelter. Scootaloo taking her scooter and carrying the other three inside the red wagon.

The stallion decided to go for Scootaloo’s scooter and her group. Who went slower than before, probably because there was no hill to help them. As they made their way through Ponyville. Catching some citizens by surprise, but the stallion covered in jelly running after the foals.

Scootaloo saw a gap. An alleyway between two buildings were it lead to the other side of the buildings and onto a less busy street. Scootaloo push down onto the earth hard, her little wings flapping for any more speed. The Scootalo and wagon just making its way through the gap. The stallion didn’t even get in the alleyway before being bounced back off. He shook his head and saw the fillies and colts had gotten to the other side. And then a stampede of hooves blocked his view of them. And once they cleared, the group and gone. He yelled in the air out of anger. But remembered Spike and his group running back up the hill. He chuckled evilly and rubbed his hooves together.

“I will avenge my Jelly.” He said as he raced back though the street and towards Sweet Apple Acres. Once he left the actual town, Scootaloo and the others watched from behind.

“Follow him. He might hurt our friends.” Featherweight said. Scootaloo nodded as she kicked off. But then stopped realizing how tired she was. And breathed deeply as the others got out of the wagon. Rumble came up and held onto Scootaloo before she fell over. He looked at Featherweight and Sweetie.

“Go on. I’ll stay here with Scoots. We’ll meet you back at the farm.”

The two nodded and ran ahead as Scootaloo got her energy back.

Meanwhile, Spike’s group was walking back up the hill. Hoping the stallion wasn’t right behind them. But there fears where confirmed as they saw the stallion rushing through his broken bottles of jelly towards them.

“Go! Go! Go!” Spike said as the group ran with all their might. They spotted the white gate, but the stallion was still closely behind them. They used what energy they had left to make a mad dash to the barn. They heard the beats of hooves get closer and closer as they made their way to the barn.

They crashed through the doors and all fell onto the ground. They looked in fear as the stallion stood at the panting, with a grin of success.

“I finally got you.” He said as he walked closer and closer to his target. The group huddled together shaking wildly.
“I will avenge my Jelly.” He said as he was less than a metre away from them.

But the stallion was soon hit in his side and flied onto the ground, groaning in pain unable to move.

The group looked up to see Big Mac there with an angered look on his face.

“Big Mac, you saved us!” Spike said.

“Eeyup.” Soon Sweetie and Featherweight arrived at the scene.

“Are you guys okay?” Sweetie asked.

“Yeah, thanks ta Big Mac.” Applebloom said, panting madly.

“Where’s Rumble and Scoots?” Pipsqueak asked.

“Don’t worry, we’re here!” the fillies, colts, drake and stallion all turned to see Scootaloo pushing her scooter and Rumble walking next to her.

“What happened to the guy?” Rumble asked.

“Big Mac bucked him, he’s over there now.” Dinky said pointing to the still groaning stallion.

“ohh…that’s gotta hurt.” Scootaloo finished. It was then Big Mac noticed to sun was starting to set
.
“Well, I reckon ya’ll should be heading home now.” He said.

“Aw, do they have to?” Applebloom asked.

“Ah’m afraid so.” Big Mac said. the group all grumbled together.

“What about the stallion?” Spike asked.

“Dontcha worry. Ah’ll take care of ‘im.” Big mac finished. The group all said their goodbyes and headed back to their homes.

Spike knocked on the door, he waited until Bonbon opened it.

“Oh hey Spike. Back from playing I see. So how was it?” she asked as Spike walked in.

“You wouldn’t believe if I told you.” Spike simply said.

“Well, has Celestia responded back atleast?”

“Not yet-“just then Spike belched out some green fire which then turned into a note. He quickly read through it.

Dear Spike

This is most peculiar that I have only now learned about your conditions under my student. But, if what these notes from these townsponies are true. Then I and Luna shall aid you in your plan. Have fun Spike.

Sincerely

Princess Celestia

Spike started to shake more then Pinkie would as he jumped up in the air in excitement. He dropped the note which Bonbon picked up and read. She smiled and called out to Lyra.

“Lyra! We just got note from the princess! She said yes!” Lyra rushed from a room and hugged the still mid-air Spike.

“Yes! This is so cool!” Lyra said. Spike on the other hand was blushing.

“Okay, can you please let me go Lyra?” he asked. She let go of him as he landed on the ground.

“But, you know what you have to do now?” Lyra asked.

“What?”

“Homework!” She said. Spike then groaned and facepalmed.

“The one thing I didn’t like about school.” He mumbled as he walked to his room. Spike completed his homework before wrapping the day up with dinner, shower then Bed. Even though he could barely keep his eyes closed. If today was his first day, imagine what will happen on other days.

Short chapter- the Multiverse

View Online

It had been a few days since Spike’s misadventure with the Jelly stallion. And times were up for him. Every afternoon during the week had been filled with laughs and adventures. But personally was relieved they didn’t run into any more crazed ponies. But today was Friday and the assignment was today. During the last periods of the day, Cheerilee called up each student as they spoke to the class. Cheerilee marking them from her desk.

“Well done Featherweight. You can hand it in and sit back down now. Okay, next is…Spike. Can you come up here please?” Cheerilee asked. Spike grabbed his paper and stood in front of all the ponies in the room. Spike cleared his throat.

“A theory that there are multiple universes, similar and different to ours. This is called the multiverse. In these universes, not only are the universes, but so are we.”

“For example, in another world. I could be a deadly warrior.”

As he said that, his imagination kick in. thinking of whatever versions of himself he spoke, a ghostly figure of it would appear. So once he finished, a purple drake in white robes carrying different weapons stood behind him. His back turned but looking down on Spike. The figure soon dissolved.

“Maybe I could be older and have a different life.”

Then a taller Spike seemed to walk by with a mare who had a blue coat and an orange mane. A filly with an orange coat and yellow mane. And finally, a colt who had brown coat with a blue mane. The group also slowly dissolved.

“I could also be a pirate maybe.”

This Time it had Spike wearing a coat and a pirate hat. Sword fighting a pony in a formal red uniform. The two dissolved as they struck swords.

“Or something completely different.”

A strange creature that stood tall on its two legs, wearing a green shirt. Purple jeans and jacket. Carrying what looked like a satchel with a ball on it. And also wearing a cap that was green and purple with a ball in the middle of it. The creature also seemed to have green hair. It was throwing a red and white ball in the air with a smirk. But alas, the creature also slowly dissolved.

“All these are different versions of me. And there could be an infinity more different versions. Some less than others, but there would still be a difference. Although it seems strange to us, it’s normal life for them. So my final thoughts, is that of the theory is true. Then it truly is fascinating.”

Just then, all the four versions of Spike mentioned all re-appeared behind him. And bowed at the same time he did, before dissolving away a final time. The class clapped their hooves, apart from two snobs. Spike placed the paper on the desk as Cheerilee finished marking.

“Great work Spike. I’ll take that will you go back and sit down.” She said. Spike sat back down as his friends congratulated him. The class continued to talk and speak to the class, the last pony finished just as the bell rang. All the colts and fillies rushing out of the schoolhouse. Spike Ran back to his house, excited to meet his friends at the clubhouse as he got ready for his Friday afternoon.

And They Say Music Doesn't Help You

View Online

As Spike made his way home, he tried to not break the door this time and succeeded. He unpacked his bag and waved goodbye to Lyra and Bonbon as he rushed to the clubhouse. But he made one fatal mistake, he had ran by the library and past a window where Twilight was reading. But Twilight was too deep in her books to look outside.

Spike quickly realised his mistake and hid in a nearby bush. Although his blue hoodie would probably have given him away. He waited for a while until he realised he hadn’t been spotted. Perhaps another day he would be able to be sneaky. One day…
Anyway, Spike had reached the clubhouse and entered to find only Sweetie Belle and Featherwieght.

“Hey guys.”

“Hi Spike.” They both said.

“Where’s everypony else?” Spike asked.

“Well, Dinky says that she’s going with her dad to the…TARDIS, was it?” Pipsqueak asked.

“Yeah, Scoots and Rumble are being taught by Thunderlane and Applebloom’s helping on the farm.” Sweetie Belle says.

“And Pipsqueaks got to go to a family gathering I think.” Featherwieght said.

“Oh…any ideas?” Spike asked.

“We could go back to my house and listen to some music.” Featherwieght said.

“Yeah, that’s a great idea!” Sweetie Belle said.

“Well what are we waiting for? Let’s go!” Spike said as the three friends took off for the town.

The three soon arrived at Featherweight’s house. Featherweight unlocked the door with his key and let the other two in.

“My parents are at work right now so we have some time until they get home.” Featherweight said as he led them upstairs to his room. Inside was some blocks, a desk with photos and a camera on it. But also a radio, some cd’s and electronics.

“Nice room.” Spike said.

“Thanks. Grab something to sit down on, I’ll get the music ready.” Featherwieght said as he went over to his radio.

Soon the three surrounded a radio with a pile of CD’s. Featherweight searching through them trying to find some good music. He then found one a held it in the air like a prize.

“Yes, found some!” He then placed the CD in as the music started to play.

Lately I’ve been, I’ve been losing sleep
Dreaming about the things we could be
But baby I’ve been loving prayin’ heart
So no more counting dollars
We’ll be counting stars
Yeah we’ll be counting stars

As the music started to kick in, the three started to bob their heads and tap their hooves/feet. Enjoying the beats and the lyrics.

I see this life, like a swinging vine
Swing my heart across the line
In my faces flashing signs
Seek it out and ye shall find
Old, but I’m not that old
Young, but I’m not that bold
I don’t think the world is sold
I’m just doing what we’re told

I feel something so right, for doing the wrong thing
I feel something so wrong, for doing the right thing
I could lie, could lie, could lie
Everything that kills me makes me feel alive

As the chorus kicked in, Sweetie Belle started to sing. Feather weight and Spike looked at her amazed as she got everything right. From the tone, to the notes to the pitch, it was perfect.

I feel this love, and I feel it burn
Down this river, every turn
Hope is our four letter word
Make that money, watch it burn

Old, but I’m not that old
Young, but I’m not that bold
I don’t think the world is sold
I’m just doing what we’re told

I feel something so right, for doing the wrong thing
I feel something so wrong, for doing the right thing
I could lie, could lie, could lie
Everything that kills me makes me feel alive

Featherwieght seemed to under a spell as he stared in aww at Sweetie Belle, and how beautiful she sang. Spike was also amazed, but then again, Featherwieght had a different view of Sweetie Belle then Spike did.

(Not like that. Perverts.)

Take that money, watch it burn
Sink in the river, lessons I learned

Take that money, watch it burn
Sink in the river, lessons I learned

Take that money, watch it burn
Sink in the river, lessons I learned

Take that money, watch it burn
Sink in the river, lessons I learned

Everything that kills me…makes me feel alive!

Lately I’ve been, I’ve been losing sleep
Dreaming about the things we could be
But baby I’ve been loving prayin’ heart
So no more counting dollars
We’ll be counting stars
Yeah we’ll be counting stars

Lately I’ve been, I’ve been losing sleep

Once the music ended, Sweetie Belle looked at the two whose jaws had dropped. She blushed and rubbed her mane.

“What?” she asked.

“That was amazing Sweetie Belle! I’ve never heard anything like it!” Featherweight exclaimed.

“R-Really?” She asked.

“Yeah. You could give these guys a run for their money.” Featherweight said.

Sweetie Belle blushed and rubbed her two legs together, but soon a flash had appeared out of nowhere. The three soon trying to figure out what it was.

“What was that?” Spike asked.

“No idea. The only time that that’s ever happen was when…” Featherweight gasped and pointed at Sweetie Belle.

“What!? Is something on me!?” Sweetie Belle panicked as she looked all over until she saw what it was.

It was possibly the thing every pony desired at least once in their life, and was something that made Sweetie Belle almost destroy Featherweights roof just by jumping through it.

She had earned her cutie mark.

She jumped up and down around the room, screaming yay over and over again. She finally calmed down once Featherweight got a hold of her, after multiple trials from him and Spike.

The three saw her cutie mark a musical clef note, surrounded by colourful music bars.

“Yes! I finally got it!” Sweetie belle said.

“Well done Sweetie. Your probably gonna go far with that voice.” Spike said.

“You really think so?” Sweetie belle asked.

“Obviously! They’d have to be stupid to not know what good talent is when it’s right in front of them.” Featherweight said.
“Thanks Featherweight.” Sweetie said as the two held each other’s shoulders. Spike quickly took this chance and searched for a cd until he found one that looked like classical music. He quickly replaced the last song and the music began to play.

At first, Sweetie and Featherweight seemed a bit surprised, but the two soon smiled at each other. Sweetie then grabbed a hold of Featherweights shoulder, wrapping her hooves around his neck while he did the same. The two soon getting on their hinds legs and moving.

Spike watched as the two went back and forth, flowing with the motions. The two seemed to be in synch with each other, like there was some type of invisible bond between them. Spike smiled as his work dance through the whole song.

Once it finished, the two just stared at each other for several minutes, until Spike decided to break it up. He coughed, causing the two to snap out of it. They realised what they were doing and let go of each other. Looking away from them and blushing hard.

“Um…this doesn’t have to leave the room, does it Spike?” Featherweight asked.

“My lips are sealed.” Spike said. The two soon getting back on the pillows as Featherweight looked through more of the music.

“Sweetie Belle. Now that you have your cutie mark, will you still be a part of the crusaders?” Spike asked.

“Oh wow. I hadn’t thought about that yet. I mean we'll still hang out as friends, but will I still get to go with them will they search for their cutiemarks?”

“Well, you could still be a part of the crusaders. But just like a mentor or helper, some pony who comes and helps others find their marks.” Spike said.

“…Yeah, I guess your right!” Sweetie Belle said, smiling and bouncing up and down.

“Hey Spike, have you decided what you’re doing for the talent show?” Featherweight asked.

“Oh no, I actually haven’t given any thought to it yet. I should, it’s a week from now.” Spike says.

“Well, here’s some music that might give you some inspiration.” Featherweight said as he played the next music CD.

When Spike listened, he felt something new. The lyrics and beat giving him something that. He didn’t know, but set a tone of fun. He seem to start to move to the beat, moving his body as the sounds and lyrics made him go crazy for it. He laughed as the song continued to make him feel like he was having such a good time. And as the song finishes, he starts to click his claws, making a clicking noise before it finished. Once it finished, he smiled to himself, he now knew what he would do. He knew what he would do for the talent show.

To the Arcade!

Spike woke the next day at around late morning. He was greeted to the smell of pancakes which made him quickly run down to the kitchen to find Lyra place stakes of pancakes on the table where Bonbon was seated at. He rushed towards the remaining chair and looked up at the tall stack.

“Good morning Spike. You seem to be happy.” Bonbon said.

“And hungry to. Dig it Spike.” Lyra said as she took as bite.

Spike devoured the pancakes within minutes, earning him to be sent to the bathroom to clean his face by Bonbon. He knew it was Saturday and began to head for the clubhouse, but not before saying goodbye to Lyra and Bonbon, who were going out to get some early lunch.

As he made it to the clubhouse, he saw Scootaloo’s scooter right outside the door. He knocked on the door, and waited for Scootaloo or some other pony to answer. He didn’t wait long before Scootaloo opened the door.

“Oh hey Spike. Come in.” Spike walked into to see only Rumble in the house.

“I’m guessing that the rest are busy?” Spike said.

“Yeah, and we were still waiting for anypony else to show up. But it looks like it’s just us.” Scootaloo said.

“So what do you guys want to do?” Rumble asked.

“Is there anything to do in town?” Spike also asked.

“I think the arcades open today. It’s on the opposite side of town.” Rumble said.

“I’m down for that.” Scootaloo said.

“Alright, let’s go then.” Spike said.

Scootaloo put her helmet on as Spike and Rumble got into the wagon with their own respected helmets. Scootaloo soon kicked off as the two were dragged along for a ride.

The three rushed through the town, nearly hitting everypony and thing in sight, Spike and Rumble holding on by dear life as Scootaloo kicked off the ground and flapped her wings. They went around the markets, to avoid getting spotted, and tried to speed away when they approached any recognizable buildings like the library or the boutique.

The three soon arrived at a square building with glass windows and a huge sliding glass door. Inside they could see multiple arcade games.

“Come on, let’s go.” Rumble said as he put his helmet in the wagon.

“Hang on, I’ve got to lock my scooter up first.” Scootaloo said.

She pulled the scooter up to the bike lock and pulled out a rope of some sort. She rung the rope around the scooter, the wagon and the metal bar. She tried to tie the knot but it kept on slipping and falling off.

“Here, let me help Scootaloo.” Rumble said as he grabbed the rope and helped Scootaloo tie here scooter up. Rumble pulled tight as the rope held the scooter in place.

“Thanks Rumble.” Scootalo said, a red tint on her cheeks.

“Oh, n-no problem.” Rumble said, he rubbed the back of his head and had a cheeky smile.

Spike just chuckled lightly as he saw the two. Both embarrassed at the situation.

The three walked into the arcade as the sliding door closed behind them. The range of arcade games was large. The boxes with screens seemed to have a large number of games. From fighting to racing to dancing to shooting to the classic claw machines.

“Whoa. I didn’t know there was stuff like this in Ponyville.” Spike said.

“C’mon Spike. I’ll go easy on ya with this game.” Scootaloo said as she led them to a fighting game. Scootaloo put two bits on and the game soon showed a character selection.

“Alright Spike, I’ll let you pick first.” Scootaloo said. Spike grabbed the joystick and began to browse over until he selected a character.
Scootaloo then also picked her character, and the screen showed the stage and the selected characters.

“Alright Spike. Just because your new doesn’t mean I’m goin’ easy on ya.” Scootaloo said with a grin.

“Bring it on.” Spike said as the announcer yelled ‘fight!’

Ten minutes later

“Best three out of five?” Spike asked.

“Nope, I win!” Scootaloo cheered herself on as Spike just rolled his eyes smiling.

“You’ve memorized those moves more than the alphabet, because it looked like you just smashed random buttons.” Spike said.

“At least I knew what I was doing, you were the one to smash the buttons to try and hit me.” Scootaloo came back.

“Ooh! Burn!” Rumble said in an eerie voice.

“Okay, so what game should we play next?” Spike asked.

“Me and Scoots know an old classic game here. We’ll show you.” Rumble said.

Spike was led by the two to another game that was a box like the fighting game but thinner and taller, with only one set of buttons and no joy stick.

“Here it is.” Scootaloo said.

“What is it?” Spike asked.

“I think it’s the first of the Manio games.” Rumble asked.

“Who?” Spike asked.

“Just play it and you’ll see.” Scootaloo said getting a bit impatient.

Spike grabbed two bits and inserted them into the slot. Immediately the screen came to life. He saw what looked like a giant Ape on top of levels of red metal bars, and a pony in a pink dress next to him on a higher platform made out of red metal bars, some barrels behind the ape and on the bottom level another pony wearing blue and a red hat. There were also ladders, some broken others not, connecting the levels of bars, forming a way to the top and a huge ladder in between the ape and pony in a dress. On the very top of the screen there was three names, score, high score and time.

He game began to start as the ape began to through the barrels down the levels, they slowly rolled down the levels. Spike soon pressed the button on the right and the pony at the bottom began to run. Spike began to get lost in the game as he jumped over the barrels and made his way to the top and through the levels, saving the pony in the dress before he finally got hit by one barrel. Spike was sad the game was over, but he still enjoyed it. He noticed that Rumble and Scootaloo had gone.

He looked around before he saw Rumble giving Scootaloo five bits in front of one the racing games.

“I’m guessing Rumble lost?” Spike asked.

“Yep. Just lost.” Scootaloo said.

“That blue shell Scoots. If that didn’t happen, I would have won and you know it.” Rumbled defended himself.

“Any other games I should take interest it?” Spike said.

“What’s up losers!” a voice yelled.

Spike looked over to a see a full grown stallion enter the building. He was a brown Pegasus with a lightly tan coloured mane and tail. He had a dumbbell on his flank for his cutie mark and had the wings of a Pegasus.

“Oh Celestia.” Scootaloo said shaking her head.

“Not him again.” Rumble said face hoofing.

“Who?” Spike asked.

“Dumbell.” Rumble said.

“He keeps on coming here, beating everypony at the games and bragging about it.” Scootaloo explained.

“He kinda sounds like somepony who still lives in there parents basement.” Spike jokingly said, the two ponies chuckling silently at the joke.

“Oh, we have some joker around here?” Spike looked back to see dumbbell looking down on him.

“You better say sorry unless you want a humiliation.” Dumbbell warned Spike. A few of the ponies in the arcade began to notice Dumbbell but Spike just looked up with determination.

“Why? It’s the truth.” Spike said. The ponies noticing ether stiffing laughs or worried looks about what’s going to happen.

“You just made a big mistake dragon.” Dumbbell said.

“What are you going to do?” Spike asked.

“I challenge you to that dancing game over there. Loser forks over twenty bits. And losses their pride.” Dumbbell said. He then leaned down right in front of Spike.

“Unless you’re a wimp.”

Spike looked up at Dumbbell with a determined look.

“Bring it.”

Dumbbell smiled confidently as he raised his head.

“Easiest money I’ll ever get. Like taking candy from a baby.” He said before making his way over to the game. Spike just growled as Scootaloo and Rumble approached him.

“You alright? Just take a breather.” Rumble said. Spike did such and let out a gasp of air, calming himself down.

“Thanks, yeah I’m good.”

“Are you going to do it Spike?” Scootaloo asked. Spike looked at the game with a smile on his face.

“Yeah. Time to get this guy’s monthly allowance.”

Spike, Rumble and Scootaloo walked over to where Dumbbell was waiting. There they saw two huge screens and two platforms with arrows on them.

“Ready to lose dragon?” Dumbbell said.

“I’m ready to win.” Spike said.

The two competitors stepped up to the platforms as the game began. It started off with simple steps. Up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right. But it seemed to get more complicated as time went on.

“Giving up yet dragon?” Dumbbell asked.

“Nope.” Spike said.

As time went on, the movements got more rapid and complex. Spike was starting to worry he would lose, he had a few near misses and he didn’t know how long he could go on for. But he wasn’t going to let this guy win.

I can do this. I can do this. I WILL do this.

Spike soon began to perfectly form in sync with the instructions on the screen. Every step, every beat he began to perform perfectly. Dumbbell saw this and dropped his jaw at the site, costing him some combo points. He quickly realised his mistake and tried to get back on track but every time he tried it ended up with him seeing how well Spike was doing.

The final moves where approaching, Dumbbell sweating like no tomorrow and Spike was moving like it was nothing. The ponies in the arcade had gathered around for this dance battle, some even placing bets on who would win.

As Spike stepped on the last tile, Dumbell tried to finish the moves but he moved so fast that he tripped himself up and landed face first onto the platform. The word ‘Ooo’ was said by numerous ponies alike. In the end, Spike won with a distinctive advantage over Dumbbell. The ponies cheered and cried ‘Spike!’ for his victory over the stallioncolt bully Dumbbell.

Dumbbell picked himself up and looked in disbelief as he saw he had lost. He groaned and reluctantly pulled out his bits and patted Spike on the back. Spike turned around and accepted the pile of bits. Dumbbell left with no pride, a bloody nose and a black eye from the fall.

Spike later joined Rumble and Scootaloo as the crowd dispersed.

“Way to go Spike, knew you would win.” Rumble said.

“Yeah, you were pretty good, I guess.” Scootaloo said, not letting her pride down.

“Thanks guys. Now since I got some extra bits, let go and get some tickets.” Spike said.

For the rest of the day, Spike, Rumble and Scootaloo played ticket games until they had enough for three prizes in the small to medium range.

“I bet most of those large prizes where only worth 15 bits.” Scootaloo said.

“Yeah, but to be fair, Rumble did us 5 bits to get us that candy from that weird machine.” Spike said.

“I still say it was worth it.” Rumble said.

They each got a sticky elastic hoof from the prize counter before they saw the sun going down and there were less ponies then before.

Spike said goodbye to Rumble and Scootaloo as he made his way back to Lyra and Bonbon’s. But along the way he came across a little duck which bumped into his leg. Spike crouched down to get a closer look at the duck.

“Hey there little guy. Where are you going to?”

“Bobby! Bobby!”

Spike heard the cries from over the hill, and he instantly knew whose it was.

“Fluttershy!”

He looked around before he jumped into a nearby bush, hoping to blend in.

Meanwhile Fluttershy came over to find the little ducklings looking into a bush.

“Oh there you are! You gave me and your mother a scare.” Fluttershy said using her hoof to try and direct the duckling home. But to her surprise the duckling ran back to the bush. She again walked over to the little duck.

“What is it Bobby?” Fluttershy asked.

She looked into the bush and began to reach in with her hoof, she thought she saw-

A sudden quacking alerted her attention as the mother duck stood on the hill, calling her young over. The little duckling quickly ran over to the duck as the two hugged. Fluttershy smiled as she began to walk over but she looked back once more. What was that in the bush? But she saw the duck and her duckling head home.

‘Oh, w-wait up! I-if y-you want t-to.”

Spike’s head popped up as soon as Fluttershy left.

“That was way to close… I gotta head home.”

Spike was able to make it home without running into anyone again. He got home in time for dinner with Lyra and Bonbon. And then got into bed to rest, his wrists where in pain from all the button mashing.

Muffins, Pirates, and Pizza

The Sunday sun seemed to shine brightly into Spikes eyes, making him fall out of bed.

“Celestia really wants everypony to wake up immediately as the sun comes up. Otherwise my eyes wouldn’t be burning.”

Spike just stretched himself and got back on his feet. He rubbed his eyes as he walked to the table and made himself breakfast. He only guessed Lyra and Bonbon where still asleep.

He finished breakfast as Lyra and Bonbon both entered the room.

“You both have a good sleep in?” Spike asked.

“Yep.” Lyra simply responded tiredly.

“Well, I’m going to the clubhouse again. See you guys later.” Spike said as he left the house.

He made his way through Ponyville, watching as ponies seemed to only start to wake up and exit their homes to for what they needed or wanted to do this Sunday. He made sure to avoid certain homes as he knew the schedule of those said ponies. Especially the purple one.

Once he arrived at the clubhouse, the only ponies that was inside was Dinky and Pipsqueak.

“Hey Dinky. Hey Pipsqueak.”

“Hello Spike.”

“Hey Spike.”

“Do you know where the others are?”

“Sorry, but I think they’re all busy.” Dinky said.

“Oh.” A small silence hung over them.

“So, you want to do anything?” Spike asked.

“We could go see what my dad is doing. He’s pretty fun to hang out with.” Dinky said.

“Alright, let’s go then.” Pipsqueak said.

The three walked through the town, which had gotten out of its tired state and began to move again, and arrived at a house. Dinky knocked on the door and waited a while. Soon a brown stallion with a brown mane and tail with a tie, and an hourglass cutiemark.

“Hey Dinky, Hey Pipsqueak. Who’s your friend?”

“I’m Spike mister…”

“Oh, just call me the Doctor.” The stallion said.

“Doctor who?”

“No, just the Doctor.” The Doctor said. Spike just raised his eyebrow. But soon shrugged it off. The three walked into the living room to see Dizty Doo.

“Hello muffin.” Dizty said as she walked over and hugged her daughter.

“Hello Pipsqueak, hello Spike.” She said.

“Hey mum. Do you or dad have any idea what we could do this afternoon?” Dinky asked. Dizty put a hoof on her chin and thought for a moment. With thinking music in the background. Until she came up with an idea.

“I know! You dad could take you three in the TARD-“

“Dizty!” the Doctor said as he walked up and whispered something to her.

“Oh…never mind!” she said and put on a cute smile.

“Well, we could go out and get some muffins from the local bakery.” The Doctor suggested. The others agreed and the group left the house, locked the door and made their way to Sugarcube corner.

Once they arrived, Spike stayed outside with Dinky and Pipsqueak as Dizty and the Doctor walked in to check if Pinkie was there. He waited for a while until Dizty motioned for the three to enter.

Mr.Cake stood at the counter as he waved to Spike.

“Hey there guys. Pinkie left saying something about helping Twilight with ‘an investigation’. What can I get for you guys today?”

“Could we get some muffins please?” the doctor asked.

“Sure, what flavour?”

“Blueberry.” Dizty said.

“Same with me please.” The Doctor said.

“Choc chip.” Dinky and Pipsqueak said.

“Do you have any sapphire muffins?” Spike asked.

“I think there’s some in the back. I’ll take a look.” Mr.Cake said.

Once they placed some bits on the counter and got their muffins. The group walked over to a nearby booth. They sat around and started to dig in. Mr.Cake walked nearby after picking up some dirty plates left by some customers.

“How’s everyone’s muffin?” he asked.

“They’re great. Thank you Mr.Cake.” Dinky said as she took a bit out of her muffin. Spike swore he just saw Pipsqueak grip his chest, struggling to breathe. Spike leaned over to make sure Pipsqueak was OK.

“You alright man? You looked like you had a heart attack.” Pipsqueak was only able to let out a few small words.

“To…cute…to…handle.” Spike instantly smiled and let out a laugh.

After sometime, Spike asked some questions.

“So what do you do Doctor? I’ve seen you here or there and I know Ditzy’s a mailmare, but I don’t know what you actually do.” Spike asked. A sweat bead ran down the Doctors face as he looked for an answer.

“I’m a…traveller. Yeah, a traveller.”

“Really? Where have you gone?” Spike asked.

“Oh, Everywhere, basically.” He stated like it was a normal fact.

“Everywhere?”

“Everywhere.”

The group soon finished their muffins and left Sugarcube corner.

“So what do you want to do now?” Dizty asked.

“Um, mum. Can I go with Pipsqueak to his house?” Dinky asked. Smiling sheepishly.

“Hmm…okay, just be back before sunset.” She said.

“Thanks mum!” Dinky ran up and hugged Dizty’s leg. The mother returned the hug as the two ponies and dragon walked away.

The Doctor and Dizty looked at each other as the three left.

“Can we go in the TARDIS again Doctor?” Dizty asked.

“Of course, milady.”

The two run off to an alleyway where a blue box seemed to be waiting for them. They walked in as it made the weirdest noise and vanished.

Meanwhile, back to the foals and Spike.

“So who really is this Doctor guy Dinky?” Spike asked.

“Oh. Well a few months ago it was just me and mum. She always seemed lonely. Sure she had me and she loves me, but I think she wanted somepony else.

Then a few days later, Mum brought the Doctor home and introduced him to me. He was really funny and I instantly liked him. mum later told me she was doing her usual runs when she crashed into a blue box, and as she got up, the Doctor came up and asked her if she was alright.
They seemed to get closer and closer, spending a lot of time together. She still spent time with me but now she had a close friend who she could talk to, and I was happy for it. Then, about three months ago, mum said the Doctor was moving in. They haven’t told me yet but I think their dating, the signs are everywhere. And the rest is history.” Dinky explained.

“Wow. That’s an incredible story.” Spike said.

“Thanks Spike.” Dinky said.

“So what are we going to do anyway?” Spike asked.

“Oh, you’ll see.” Pipsqueak said as they approached a house.

The salt sea brushed against the huge galleon as it made its way through the sea. The wind blew the sails which powered the ship for its course. On board the ship were glistening golden cannons, a singing crew of pirates, and a white pony wearing pirate captain outfit. The pony also had brown spots all over his body and wore an eye patch.

The deadly captain Pipsqueak looked on at his mighty ship. No other ship in the sea could beat it. But he was distracted as his lookout cried.

“Ship of the Starbard bow!”

The captain quickly pulled out his spyglass and looked out. He could see a brig quickly approaching his, it was travelling at ramming speed. Pipsqueak yelled quickly.

“Don’t stand around your bloody idiots! Man the cannons! Prepare to be boarded!”

“Captain Pipsqueak! Captain Pipsqueak!”

He turned to see his first mate, Dinky, wearing her bandana and stripped shirt, rush up to him.

“What’s happening!? Is it the navy!?” She asked.

“I don’t think so. Come on!”

The two rushed back to the wheel. Pipsqueak didn’t need to look at his spyglass since the ship was within firing range.

“Fire!”

The serious of explosions was heard as the enemy ship was hit greatly. But even though it was in terrible conditions, it still managed to ram the ship. Pipsqueak and Dinky were shaken as the ship swayed heavily in the ocean.

Pipsqueak heard cheering before someone on a rope landed in front of him. He saw a dragon about his height, wearing nearly the same attire as him but instead had a huge feather in his hat. He pulled out his sword and pointed at Pipsqueak.

“We meet again, captain Pipsqueak.” The dragon said.

“Spike.” Pipsqueak replied.

“Let us have a final dance of death, to see who is better.” Spike suggested.

“I agree.” Pipsqueak said.

“Captain, quick, you sword!” Dinky said as she threw her captain her sword before she fought an enemy pirate.

The two faced each other and began to circle. Before they parried through others, falling pieces of wood, and nearly all the way through the ship. Until they reached the front of the ship.

The two clashed swords before Spike managed to disarm the pony. Pipsqueak looked in shock as his sword was lost to Davy Jones. He glanced back at the dragon.

“Admit defeat Pipsqueak?” Spike said.

“Never.”

“Very well. Prepare to-

“Pipsqueak! We’re back!”

As a mare looked into the back yard. She saw a cardboard Pirate ship, her son and a dragon fighting with wooden swords, both wearing paper pirate hats. And that filly his son liked in the boat, pretending to fight somepony. They all stopped to look at her in shock, she smiled and giggled at her sons antics.

“I see you’re having fun. But I think it’s time your friends head home Pipsqueak.” The mare pointed to the sky.

The foals and dragon looked up to see the sun slowly lower to the world.

“Oh, I better go.” Dinky said as she dropped the wooden sword.

“I’ll walk you home.” Pipsqueak said. Dinky blushed and grabbed his hoof.

“Thank you Pipsqueak.” She said.

“See you at school tomorrow Spike!” Pipsqueak said as the two left for Dinky’s home.

Spike smiled as he himself left Pipsqueaks backyard and began to walk towards Lyra and Bonbon’s house. He passed Sugarcube corner when he heard yelling from inside. It sounded like Pinkie Pie and Mr.Cake.

“Pinkie, you overreacting again.”

“No, I’m serious! I had 17 sapphire muffins this morning, and now there are only 16! There’s a thief in Ponyville! A Muffin theif!”

Sounds like Pinkie Spike thought.

“Pinkie, can you please be quiet? We just put the twins to bed.”

“How can you sleep when there is a thief in Ponyville stealing muffins? The world is DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMEEEEDDDDDDDD!!!”

I gotta go before her Pinkie sense picks me up or my ears begin to bleed.

Spike carefully walked away as the howls of dogs, cats and a terrified pink pony could be heard throughout Ponyville.

When Spike arrived, he found Bonbon and Lyra watching something on the television.

“Hey Spike, another fun day?” Lyra asked.

“Eeyup.” Spike said as he joined the two mares on the couch.

“You know now I wonder if Big Mac’s rubbed off on you since the meeting.” Lyra said. Spike laughed at her little joke.

“Well, against some of my better judgement. We are ordering Pizza for dinner.” Bonbon told Spike. He instantly smiled at this.

A phone call and half an hour later. There was a knock on the door. Bonbon got up to answer the door since Spike and Lyra were laughing as a group of ridiculously dress up ponies said the word ‘Ni’ several times. So Bonbon elected herself to answer. When she opened the door with bits in hoof, her jaw dropped as she saw who was in front of her.

Pinkie Pie in a pizza place uniform.

“Hi Bonbon!” she said, holding the pizzas in one of her hooves.

“Pinkie, when did you start working at a pizza restaurant?” Bonbon asked.

“Oh, I don’t. I’m just keeping a look out for somepony.” She said.

“Who?” Bonbon asked.

“There’s a muffin thief in town. And I’m looking for him. And i will not stop until justice is served!” She said proudly.

“…Okay. So how much?”

“25 bits.” Pinkie said.

Bonbon counted the pieces of gold and gave them to Pinkie. She in turned handed the pizzas.

“Thank you.” Bonbon said.

“You’re welcome! And remember. Watch out for that muffin thief. He could be anywhere.” Pinkie looked left to right before disappearing into the night. Bonbon blinked before she slowly closed the door.

Maybe lock it to.

Bonbon placed the pizzas down as Lyra and Spike jumped from the couch. They dug in to the cheesy sauce bread before eventually finishing their boxes. Spike excused himself, washed himself and went to go rest for tomorrow. It was Monday tomorrow, the worst day of the week after all.

Romance in the Everfree

View Online

Spike left the school as the other fillies and colts ran out to head home. Ether for fun or work. The bell ringing in his ears as he walked through the grass. He walked the way home a little down. His friends wouldn't be able to hang out as they all had work to do, he had gotten homework, and to top it all off. It was a Monday.

Spike walked in to see Bonbon and Lyra on the couch.

“Hey Spike, how was school today?” Bonbon asked.

“Good, I guess. None of my friends can play with me today. There all busy.” Spike said as he made his way to his room.

“Ah. Well at least you can get your homework out of the way.” Lyra said.

“Yeah.” Spike said.

He shook his head as he set his bag down on the desk. He was just whining at a problem that was smaller compared to others. He pulled out his books and began to pull his pen out.

It was several minutes and he was trudging through his homework. He had finished most of it but the math questions due at the end of tomorrow’s lesson where what were really get to him. He knew the basics but he still seemed to struggle with the questions. He rubbed his head as he looked at the equation below him.

“Spike! There’s somepony here for you.” Lyra called from the main room.

Spike put the pen down and got off of the chair. He needed a break anyway. He walked in to see Lyra next to the door, with Applebloom standing there. Holding Winona’s leash as the said dog braked happily.

“Howdy Spike.”

“Applebloom? I thought you had some chores to do.” Spike said as he walked up to the door.

“Yeah, but Big Mac said he’d take care them and told me ah only had to take Winona for a walk ‘round town.” Applebloom said. Winona jumped up onto Spike and liked his face. Spike tried to block to tongue while Applebloom just giggled.

“Looks like Winona missed ya.”

“Yeah, she sure did.” Spike said as he wiped the dog spit from his face.

“So are you just coming around to say hi?” Lyra asked.

“Actually, can ah bring Spike along with me?” Applebloom asked, her cheeks becoming slowly rosy. Spike scratched the back of his head with his cheeks also growing red.

“Sure, see you guys later!” Lyra said as she pushed Spike out of the house and slammed the door, a ‘click’ could be heard soon after. Spike’s redness grew due to Lyra’s actions.

“…So, ya wanta head back up to tha farm?” Applebloom asked.

“S-sure.” Spike responded.

The two began the afternoon walk. Applebloom and Spike just sheepishly walking, only taking glances at each other. Winona happily followed along. They arrived at the white fence, Spike holding the gate for Applebloom.

“After you.” Spike said in a Canterlot like accent.

“Thank ya kindly.” Applebloom replied in the same accent, giggling a little.

The two walked up to the house and walked through the door. Applebloom took the leash off of Winona and hanged it up on a hook. She rubbed Winona, who enjoyed the sensation before she licked Appleblooms cheek. She giggled before Winona walked to the dog bed and laid down.

“Applebloom! Is that you youngin’?” a croaked voice called out. Spike and Applebloom walked in to see Granny Smith there in her rocking chair. The chair creaking slightly as it moved back and forth. Granny screamed and hit Spike smacked dab in the middle of his head.

“Look out! It’s a big lizard!” Spike raised a claw and foot in a cartoon like style before falling onto his back.

“Granny Smith! That ain’t no lizard it’s Spike!” Applebloom cried as she rushed over and helped the dragon up. Spike rubbed his head as he go back onto his feet.

“Oh?” Granny Smith asked. Unaware as to what exactly what she did wrong.

“Ya okay Spike?” Applebloom asked.

“Yeah, don’t worry about it.” Spike said.

“Hang on, I’m going ta get Granny’s medicine.” Applebloom walked into the kitchen, leaving Spike alone with the mare that could knock him out again with another hit if she wanted to. Spike kicked the floor and looked down as he waited for Applebloom to return.

“So…” Spike said before silence took over again.

“Uh oh!”

Spike looked to the source of the cry as Applebloom returned from the kitchen.

“Granny’s medicine is out. There isn’t any left.” Applebloom explained.

“Oh. So what happens if she doesn’t have her medicine?” Spike asked.

“It’s like an ointment ta help her back. It can’t completely heal her, but it eases the pain. We usually get some from Zecora.” Applebloom said.

“So I guess that means a trip to the Everfree?”

“Eeyup. Applejack usually goes out but sometimes ether me or Big Mac go in. Applejack ain’t here though, she’s off in town doing something.” Applebloom said.

“Should I go get Big Mac?” Spike asked.

“If ya don’t mind?” Applebloom asked.

“Not at all. I’ll see you soon.” Spike said as he left the house.

Spike began his exploration for Big Mac in the sea of apple trees. He’s legs moving him along as he walked through acres and acres of land, until he finally found his goal. The red stallion collecting the fresh apples from the branches via applebucking.

“Big Mac!” Spike yelled.

“Howdy Spike. Whatcha doin’ out here” He asked.

“We have a small problem. Granny Smith’s medicine is out and somepony needs to go to see Zecora to get more.” Spike explained the situation to Big Mac. The stallions’ eyes widening as Spike finished.

“Alright. Let’s head back to the house, the apples can wait.”

Big Mac and Spike walked their way back out of the trees and walked into the house to see Applebloom trying to comfort Granny Smith as she groaned in pain.

“Ooohhhh…” Granny Smith groaned.

“Big Mac! Thank Celestia you’re here. When Spike left Granny started ta say she was hurting and now she can’t say nothin’ because she won’t stop moaning.” Applebloom explained. Big Mac walked up, replacing Applebloom and taking watch over Granny Smith. He looked down at the two much younger beings in the room with a serious look.

“Looks like y’all hafta go an’ find Zecora. Ah’ll take care of granny but be careful.” Big Mac warned. Spike and Applebloom nodded before they left the two older ponies in the house.

Spike and Applebloom walked towards the South-East of the farm until they came to an edge of the Everfree. The mist and noises emitting from inside sent shivers into the two. Spike made an audible gulp as he looked into the dense shrub. He looked at Applebloom, who was easily as scared.

“Are you ready?” Spike asked.

“Huh? Y-yeah.” Applebloom said.

He two looked forward once more. Spike took a deep breathe before they walked into the forest.

As they walked, it seemed to get darker and darker. Shrubs grew and branches reached out longer as they made their way down the path. Spike and Applebloom looked around, fearing and expecting a dangerous creature to attack from the sides. The suspense grew and grew more as the two started to get closer and closer together, almost leaning on each other.

“Halt!”

Spike and Applebloom yelped and fell back, grabbing each other in the process. They looked to see the source of the voice. And it was one of the weirdest things they had seen.

It looked like a pony, expect its body had been stretched to accommodate the three heads it had and was holding only a spear.

“Who art Thou!?” the three head asked at once, their voices in perfect correlation. Spike and Applebloom looked at each other before Spike spoke up.

“Um…I am Spike, famous dragon Guard!”

“You’re a Royal guard?” the three heads asked.

“Um…yes.” Spike said unsure as to how they would react.

“In that case I shall have to kill you.” the head on the left said.

“Shall I?” the middle head asked, looking at the other two.

“Oh I don’t think so.” The head on the right said.

“Well what do I think?” The middle head asked again.

“I think kill ‘em.” The head on the left said.

“Oh lets be nice to them.” The right head said.

“Oh shut up.” The left head spoke back.

“Uh-“

“And you.” The left head said to Spike who tried to speak.

“Quick, pull the sword out! I want to cut their heads off!” The left head said getting impatient.

“Oh, cut your own head off.” The right head said looking away rolling its eyes.

“Yeah, do us all a favour.” The middle head said in agreement.

“What!?”

“Yapping on all the time.” The right head said.

“You’re lucky, you’re not next to him.”

“What do you mean!?” the left head asked angrily.

“You snore.” The middle head answered.

“Oh, I don’t! Anyway, you got bad breath.” The left head said, trying to fight back the verbal battle.

“Well it’s only because you don’t brush my teeth.” The middle head stated.

“Oh stop bickering and let’s go have tea.” The right head suggested.

“Alright, alright, alright. We’ll kill them first. And then have tea and biscuits.” The Left head spoke, making a final suggestion.

“Yes” The middle head said in agreement.

“Oh not biscuits.” The right head argued.

“Alright, alright, no biscuits but let’s kill them anyway.” The left head complained.

“Right.” The middle and right heads nodded and look at each other before all the heads looked down to see Spike and Applebloom had already left. They looked around in search for them but were unable to see them.

“They’ve buggered off.” The left head said.

“So they have, they’ve scarpered.” The right head followed.

Meanwhile, Spike and Applebloom were walking back on track after the weird encounter with the three headed pony. The two still walking closely until Zecora’s hut could be seen at the end of the track. The two relived they had reached their destination.

Spike knocked on the wooden door waiting for a response.

“Zecora.” Applebloom called out.

The door opened to see the zebra standing there.

“Well hello Spike and Applebloom. Please join me in the main room.”

Spike and Applebloom walked in after Zecora to walk into the main area of Zecora’s house.

“So what brings you here to my hut? Is to say hi or are you in a rut?” Zecora asked.

“We ran out of Granny’s medicine, can ya make us some more please?” Applebloom explained. Zecora rubbed her chin and walked over to her table. She checked the spices and ingredients that seemed to be all around the hut, searching for the right agreements. Applebloom and Spike waited until Zecora came back to the two.

“It seems I am missing a piece. A powerful flower to make it complete. It is called the flower of youth. It can make one weary feel fresh, this is the truth.” Zecora said.

“So would you like us to go and find it? “ Spike asked, Zecora nodded.

“I shall begin to make the medicine. Its location is usually around vines. Head down West in order to start. Please be weary to not be torn apart.” She warned. Spike and Applebloom nodded, although cringed at Zecora’s last words.

The two left Zecora to craft and once again made their way through shrub. The path being more dense then before, and Spike and Applebloom looking around for any more danger. Their last encounter with an Everfree creature was indeed a strange one.

“You alright Applebloom?” Spike asked. Applebloom jumped slightly but regained her cool.

“Yeah, ah’m fine. Thanks for asking.”

“Your wel-“

Spike was cut off as he tripped over on something and fell into the dirt. Applebloom gasped and ran to assist Spike back up. Spike got on his knees to see he had tripped on a vine that lay on their path.

“Were probably getting closer. Come on.” Spike made a hand gesture as they walked forward.

Spike and Applebloom had passed a number of vines hanging or laying by themselves or in small groups until they reached the mother load.
Vines seemed to be everywhere. They hanged from up high and covered the forest ground. And hanging in a pile of vines high, a vibrant shining flower grew. It was the object Spike and Applebloom had been searching for.

“How in the hay do we get up of there?” Applebloom asked.

“Hold on, let me see if I can get up there.” Spike said as he jumped up and grabbed hold of a low swinging vine. He swung from side to side as he tried to pull himself up to the next vine. Spike nearly fell a few times, but was able to hold onto the vines. Applebloom below cheering him on to keep on moving up.

Spike was only a reach away from the vine, his brow sweating greatly from all the strain of lifting his entire frame up.

“Come on Spike! Ya almost there!” Applebloom cheered.

Spike panted, catching his breath before he made the final push and grabbed the stem of the flower. He was about to pull until he felt a small drop, the vine stopping shortly, bouncing him a bit but his grip of the flower still firm. He then heard a large ‘Snap!’ and all the vines he were holding onto started to fall. Applebloom panicked and rushed in order to catch Spike. She jumped in the air as vines and Spike landed on her. Both of them puffing an ‘oof!’ out before they landed on the ground.

Spike groaned as he look at the damage. He pulled the vines off of his body before he noticed he was laying on top of Applebloom’s back.

“Applebloom!” Spike quickly jumped up and checked on the yellow filly. She groaned as she got to her hooves.

“Are you okay?” Spike asked deeply worried.

“Yeah…ah think ah’m fine. How’s the flower?” Applebloom asked as she stood up.

Spike realised and looked in his claw. He held into the flower as he fell and because of this only one petal was left on the heavily damaged stem. He looked in disarray and sighed.

“Not good.” He showed Applebloom, who soon also shared a negative feeling.

“Shoot. And ya worked your hind off for it.” Applebloom said.

“…Come on. Let’s head back to Zecora, tell her the bad news.” Spike said. He began to walk before he heard a screech and looked back to see Applebloom in pain. Spike ran back over and got on one knee.

“Spike, ah think mah hoof is sprained. Ah can’t walk.” Applebloom said pleading.

“…Alright. Applebloom. I need you to lay on your back and hold onto the flower for me.” Spike said handing Applebloom the flower. She was confused as to what Spike was doing but agreed and grabbed the flower with her hoof. She laid on her back and waited for what Spike had in store. She felt two claws push their way under her and found herself being lifted up by Spike. She realised Spike was carrying her bridal style.

“Okay, let’s go.” Spike said as he began to walk back to Zecora’s hut.

Spike was hallway their before Applebloom spoke up.

“Thanks for, uh…carrying me Spike.” Applebloom’s cheeks red as her mane. Spike’s cheeks copied.

“Oh, sure. No problem.”

“Ya not having any trouble doing this are ya?” She asked concerned.

“What, this? Nah, I’m fine. I’ve been carrying tons of book piles so this isn’t much of a problem.” Spike explained.

“So ya quite strong then?”

“Yeah. I’m pretty tough.” Spike said with a smug look. Applebloom just giggled at Spike’s silliness. Spike also chuckled at his antics. The two remained silence, enjoying the scenery of the Everfree.

“Ya know…” Applebloom began, Spike turned his attention to the filly.

“If ya really look around. Tha Evergreen’s got a kinda nice atmosphere.”

“You really think so?” Spike asked.

“Ya. Ah mean. It’s just feels so nice now. Ah feel safe right now. Just walking through the forest with ya.”

Applebloom grabbed around Spike’s neck and pulled him into a hug. Spike blushed furiously and looked at Applebloom, whose face was so very close to his.

“Thank you Spike.” She whispered.

Applebloom soon let go of Spike and the two continued on. Spike eventually saw Zecora’s hut and walked up to the door. He placed Applebloom down gently before he knocked on the door. He still held onto Applebloom to help her walk.

Zecora opened the door to see the two.

“Ah, you have returned from your search! But It appears one of you seems to lurch.” She said taking note of Applebloom’s state. She invited the two in to show them her cauldron filled with a liquid.

“Well I hope your search was not in vain. Did you retrieve the flower I exchange for your pain?” Zecora asked. Spike and Applebloom looked down disappointed as they showed Zecora the broken flower.

“Sorry Zecora. The flower was damaged when I tried to get it.” Spike explained.

“It is quite fine, for it is not a lost. One petal was all of the cost.” Zecora said as she grabbed the flower and walked over to the cauldron. She took the last petal and placed it in the cauldron. The liquid seemed to glow before it returned to its natural state. Zecora grabbed a nearby empty bottle and dipped it in the cauldron before pulling it out and putting a cork in the bottle.

She walked over and handed the bottle to the two.

“Here is what you requested. A bottle to help keep Granny’s back rested.”

Spike grabbed the bottle out of Zecora’s hoof and smiled.

“Thanks Zecora. At least I knew I didn’t completely fail.” Spike said.

“Oh I would say you have no failed at all. You have the medicine and helped this filly to not fall.” Zecora stated. Spike just rubbed the back of his head sheepishly.

“Well I do believe you’ve had enough for one day. I’ll give you something for her injury and you can be on your way.” Zecora said. She got another bottle from her counter and also handed it to Spike.

“Applebloom, do you think you can walk the rest of the way home?” Spike asked.

“Let me try.” Applebloom said as Spike let her go. She took a couple of steps before she was in pain again. Spike walked over as Applebloom laid down.

“Alright, can you hold onto these for me please?”

Spike gave Applebloom the two bottles before he picked her up again and set off down the road. Zecora waving to them as they left for Sweet Apple Acres.

Along the way, they looked up to see the sky darken and the moon rise in the sky.

“Looks like it’s getting dark.” Spike said. Applebloom looked up to see the moon shine down on them.

“Oh, ah hope ah didn’t stop ya in the middle of anything important.” Applebloom said.

“Oh damn. I still got that math homework to finish.” Spike realising his unfinished work.

“Are ya okay with that?” Applebloom asked.

“Kinda. I’ve got the basics down but I think I need some help with some of the questions.” Spike explained.

“Well ah can help ya with that stuff tomorrow. It ain’t due till the end of the day.” Applebloom offered.

“Really? Thanks Applebloom.” Spike said. Applebloom blushed and looked away.

“No problem.”

Spike soon lost sight of the trees of the Everfree and soon saw aligned trees filled with apples. He saw the house up ahead and pushed on for the last stretch.

Spike put Applebloom down and opened the door. He saw Big Mac trying to comfort Granny Smith as she moaned. Big Mac instantly noticed the two arrive.

“Thank Celestia ya here. Did ya get the medicine?” Big Mac asked. Spike walked up and gave Big Mac the bottle.

“Ah’ll be back. ah gotta get a spoon from the kitchen.” Big Mac said. As Big Mac left, Spike walked over to Applebloom and helped her up the stairs. Applebloom pointed out her room and Spike opened the door. He helped her to her bed where she laid down.

“Thanks a lot for carrying me Spike. Ya must be tired as heck.” Applebloom asked out of concern.

“Nah. I’m fine. I told you. Tough dragon.” Spike smiled. Applebloom also smiled.

“Still. Ya did a lot for me today, and ya didn’t hafta…Can ya come a bit closer please?” Applebloom asked.

Spike raised an eyebrow at this question.

“Okay…” He said unaware. He leaned down before Applebloom gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. Spike jumped back, dumfounded and turning red.

“Thank you.” Applebloom giggled at Spike and how he took the kiss.

Big Mac then walked in and interrupted the two.

“Alright. Granny’s better and she’s taking a small nap. How are you two?” He asked.

“Applebloom sprained her hoof while we helped Zecora with the medicine.” Spike explained, snapping out of his trance. Big Mac walked over to take a look at his younger sister.

“Zecora gave me some medicine before we left.” Applebloom said as she showed him the medicine. Big Mac took the bottle and put it on the bedside table. He then turned to Spike who was still there.

“Ya better head back Spike. Lyra and Bonbon’s probably worried sick ‘bout ya.” Big Mac explained. Spike nodded as he headed for the door.

“See you guy’s later then.”

“See ya tomorrow Spike!” Applebloom called out as Spike left the room.

On the way home, Spike rubbed the cheek where Applebloom had kissed. And slowly but surely, a smile crawled onto Spike’s face.

Big Mac looked out the window to see Spike disappeared before he checked on Applebloom.

“’Right then, let’s take a look at this.”

He grabbed her offered hoof and took examined to see any damage or pain. But surprisingly, nothing seemed to be wrong. Applebloom wasn’t shaking or even showing small signs of pain.

“Ya hoof looks fine Applebloom. How did that happen?” Big Mac asked.

“Umm…it got better.” Applebloom said with a sheepish smile.

Big Mac couldn’t help but chuckle at his younger sister’s antics. He made a note in his head to give some apples to Spike for his help.

Today was the day of the talent show. The ponies of Ponyville tried to get some final practise before they go onto the stage to show everypony else.

The theatre to be used was the same the Cutie Mark Crusaders used for one of their earlier escapades, involving a certain song. There was some great preparation as the Princesses would be judging the contest themselves. A last minute note sent down by Luna to the mayor announcing she would also like to attend.

But moving along, Spike and his friends were doing their practise in the Whitetail Woods. Rumble brought down an esky with water bottle
Spike finished the last of his performance before he took a breather.

“Okay. I think we should take five.” Spike suggested.

“Yeah. My throat’s starting to hurt.” Sweetie Belle said as she took the water bottle offered by Featherweight. The rest of the CMC took the news very well that Sweetie Belle had gotten her cutie mark. The group celebrated and convinced the CMC to not try their cutie marks involving fireworks.

“You guys think I’ll do it?” Spike asked his friends.

“’Course ya will. Ah’ve seen it and think it’s great!” Applebloom said.

“And besides, it doesn't matter if you win the prize or not. Will still like ya.” Scootaloo said. Spike smiled before he talked to them all.

“Thanks guys. I’m going to give it my all in this contest, and no hard feelings?” Spike asked.

“Of course not. Friends to the end mate.” Pipsqueak said. The group each grabbed a bottle, clashed them against each there announcing ‘Cheers!’ before they each took a sip from their bottles.

“Well, well. Look at this Silver Spoon. A bunch of blank flanks and losers.”

That snotty voice disrupted the enjoyment the group where having as they turned to see Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon. Standing there, probably with the goal of ruining their afternoon.

“What do ya want Diamond Tiara?” Applebloom asked.

“Just walking by. Looking at the blank flank LOSERS trying to practise for the contest tonight.” Diamond Tiara said.

“Why do you care?” Spike asked.

“Because me and Silver are going to win that contest and blow everypony away.” Diamond said, Silver nodding like a sidekick.

“How do you know?” Scootaloo asked.

“Umm, because it’s amazing!” Diamond announced.

“What do you do?” Rumble asked.

“Pfff, like I’m going to tell you! You’ll probably try and steal it.” Diamond accused the group.

“Can you just please go?” Sweetie Belle asked. Diamond looked at her and glared.

“OOOH! Does Stupid Belle think she’s better now she has a cutie mark?”

Featherweight grinded his teeth as Diamond Tiara made fun of Sweetie.

“Diamond. Can you just go away?” Featherweight asked. Diamond grinned as she had clearly gotten under their skin
.
“And why? I’m quite happy here. And I’m clearly winning right know.” Diamond said.

“Why do you even do this anyway?” Spike asked.

“Because we can. And you can’t stop us.” Diamond said walking up to the dragon. His friends and especially Applebloom stared with anger at the pink filly.

“Yeah, I guess you’re right. No pony’s stopping you.” Spike said casually. His friends all looked at him like he was Pinkie Pie breaking physics. Diamond smiled and turned away.

“And don’t you forget it you-“She stopped as she felt a huge amount of heat immediately shot up from behind her. She looked behind to see a green flame, thinking it was her on fire.

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!” The pink filly jumped up into the air and dashed away from the group. Silver Spoon looking at her friend run away.

“Diamond, wait!” She looked back at Spike and his friends.

“You guys will pay for that!” She then ran away to find her scared friend.

Spike smiled as he saw quickly put the fire out with his foot. It was only a small one and he knew it wouldn't burn so he really didn't hurt anypony. His friends coming up to congratulate him.

“Nice work Spike.” Featherweight said as Scootaloo patted him on his back.

“Nah, it’s nothing.” Spike said.

“Should we start practising again?” Dinky asked.

“Sure. More couldn’t hurt.” Rumble said.

The group of friends began to practise once again, but it wasn’t going according to plan.

“This is getting easy!” Scootaloo said as she did her tricks with her scooter. But her hoof slipped from underneath her during one of her tricks and sent the scooter flying off. Scootaloo landing on her rump as Rumble and Dinky ran over to help Scootaloo, her scooter heading straight towards an unsuspecting Spike. Scootaloo pushed herself up with her hooves as she saw the incoming collision.

“Spike! Look out!”

But she was too late as the dragon had his legs trip up from behind him and somehow landed on the scooter. He couldn’t copperhead what was happening before the scooter continued its way towards the town.

“Quick, we gotta catch him before he crashes!” Applebloom waved her hoof and began to run after Spike, the rest of her friends following.
Meanwhile, Spike grabbed onto the sides of the scooter for dear life as he was rocketed to the town. He was too scared of falling off to try and stand up and just tried to avoid any collisions with the trees. His hood flew in the wind as Spike narrowly dodged a tree before he was about to make direct contact with a pile of leaves.

The scooter finally stopped as it sent leaves into the air, but Spike was propelled out of the woods and into town. His friends just catching up to see the flying dragon.

“Hurry, we gotta go faster!” Applebloom pointed out.

“I see if I can get their faster!” Scootaloo yelled as she pulled her scooter out of the pile of leaves and began to rid it ahead of the group.
Spike felt something he had never really felt before. Sure he fell from up high after his…incident, but he was just falling down then. Here, he was soaring. He looked down to see the town below him, the ponies going as usual their daily lives in Ponyville as if nothing unusual was happening.

He then looked up to see the sky above him, he took notice of a flock of birds passing by, and seeing some Pegasus flying up in the air somewhere. And the best part, the wind against his face. He closed his eyes as the feeling of the breeze was conforting and thrilling at the same time.

But the feeling was cut off as he soon felt like he was going down again. He opened his eyes to see he was going down very fast. So he could protect himself, he curled himself into a ball and hoped for a soft landing.

But by amazing coincidence, he landed on a stretched piece of cloth, which acted as a trampoline and sent he into the air before he bounced of another and finally landing on a cart full of barrels. His landing however caused the barrels to start to tumble and roll out. Ponies ran away as barrels and a dragon who struggled to not fall off and not look stupid. He was doing fine with not falling, but the later’s debatable.

Ponies who were walking around weren’t expecting barrels to roll towards them, making them jump out of the way to avoid injury. They also weren’t expecting the silly looking dragon on top of one of the barrels trying to stay one, as well as the filly on the scooter speeding after the barrels and a group of fillies and colts.

But tragedy was coming up as Spike saw the barrels fly off a makeshift ramp from a cart a pony abandoned for safety. His barrel got closer and closer until his feet lost touch as he was propelled across town again, the barrels floating into a nearby river.

Spike wasn’t as high as he was last time but he was still above the houses. He then saw he was heading straight for a…sofa?

Cargo wiped the sweat from his brow as he placed the sofa down. He and his friend, Heavy Weight had been carrying this sofa from the station to Quills and Sofas and they needed a break.

“You alright Cargo?”

“Yeah, I just need a break…and a drink.” Cargo said as he took a breath. He looked up to see a baby dragon coming from the sky and bounce off the sofa over his head and then land on a nearby skateboard before taking off. He just stared in the direction for some time until a voice snapped him out.

“Cargo!”

He shook his head to look at his partner.

“You alright?”

“Yeah…I just really need some water.”

Spike braced for impact before he bounced of the sofa and did a front flip before he saw a skateboard below him with two ponies arguing over it.

“Are you kidding me? It’s obviously worth sixty bits!”

“Sir, you’ve asked me to deliver this to you, which I am doing for free. And I made this with my own hooves, it’s still seventy-five.”

“Alright, how about sixty-five?”

“No.”

“Oh come on!”

Spike was once again getting propelled through town, but he saw he could soon gain control of the problem. He was almost thrown off the board but was able to stop it from moving from left to right.

He looked up to see what was ahead of him, which was the market district. He quickly leaned to the right to dodge a shopper and then to the left to dodge a cart full of vegetables. He said sorry to both of the ponies before he went pale at what was in front of him.

Ponies, stands and carts. Nothing but that for the rest of the entire district.

Oh no

Spike reacted quickly as time for him slowed down. He quickly leaned right and left, sometimes jumping over carts and landing on the skateboard. Although not perfectly, he nearly fell off or on his back more than once. He then saw the entire street blocking the way. He was about to panic until he saw a gap were the skateboard could roll through to the end of the crowd but not with him on it.

He jumped off of the board and quickly started to jump on ponies backs. He jumped from pony to pony, dodging wings that flail up in surprise and trying to not get knocked off by the surprised ponies. He did this until he jumped off the last pony and landed on his stomach on the board. The ponies looking in awe as they witnessed the unknown presence on their backs.

“Excuse us!”

The ponies jumped out of the way as Scootaloo moved through at faster speeds, the rest not too far behind.

Spike raised himself to see he was just outside of the town hall. He quickly pushed himself up to his feet and gained control of the board again. He soon put force onto the back of the skateboard, making it grind into the dirt, stopping the wheels from rolling anymore.

He sighed a deep breath as his adrenaline was finally depleted. He got off of the board and fell onto his rump. His entire body felt tired a little painful.

Scootaloo soon skidded next to Spike and hopped off, their friends right behind her. They rushed over to check on the drake.

“Spike, are ya okay?” Applebloom asked deeply worried. He just kept on looking down and breathing heavily.

“Spike, you okay dude?” Rumble asked. No response.

“Spike. Can you hear us?” Pipsqueak asked.

Spike continued to breathe heavily and his chest kept on beating wildly, but he managed to speak some words between the breathers.

“That…was…The funniest thing…I have ever done…”

“So, you okay?” Scootaloo asked.

“Okay? I’m AWESOME!” Spike yelled with unexpected enthusiasm, his friends joining in on his cheering.

The ponies around and those who were at the market were about to go and check on the drake but after that response, they smiled as nostalgia filled their minds.

Spike laughed and cheered with his friends, even though he was in pain from the ordeal, it was incredibly fun. He not only rode a skateboard for the first time, he experienced what a select few that aren’t Pegasus, dragon or any other creature of the air ever did. He also had his friends there to see if he was alright. He thought back over the last few days and smiled as he realised he had done things he never done before. He loved those days and today, he wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

Yeah, you know it’s coming.

“SPIKE!!!”

The laughter stopped as Spike looked to the source and his face immediately dropped. As did his friends.

Right before him, was six fuming ponies. He knew them very well, especially the one at the front who, if looks glares could melt solid objects, would have Canterlot a white sludge falling off the mountain in a second. His worst fears that week where now in front of him, staring him down like prey.

It was Twilight Sparkle.

Excuse Me!?

View Online

Well…This is awkward.

Spike was currently in a huge amount of fear as Twilight Sparkle stood in front of him, glaring down with her friends behind her. Spike’s friends also braced for the lecture they would receive. Currently, only a few ponies in town had noticed, but others continued with their day.

Anyway, back to the situation of awkwardness.

“Care to explain yourself, mister!?” Twilight asked, her eyes coming close to flickering with flames.

“Um…” Was Spike’s response.

“Do you have any idea what I’ve gone through to find you!? I’ve looked all over town and here I finally find you in the middle of it goofing off!” She screamed.

“H-How long have you been looking for me?” Spike asked, scared out of his mind.

“Well, we started a week after you supposedly left for royal business. Then I began to suspect something was wrong. I got the girls together and we started to search for you since. But don’t change the subject!” Twilight struck.

“The hay where ya thinkin’?” Applejack questioned.

“You know how much of my flying practice I’ve given to try and find your scaly hind!?” Rainbow complained.

“How many appointments and contracts I missed or delayed?” Rarity followed.

“…I-I didn’t mind but you shouldn’t have done it, Spike,” Fluttershy commented in the back.

“I had fun,” Pinkie said smiling, but turning on her serious face once again.

“B-but-“ Applebloom started.

“And don’t you start! Ya knew the entire time and ya didn’t tell us?” Applejack quickly shut Applebloom’s argument down.

“My word Sweetie. I never suspected you of doing such a thing! Lying to your sister!” Rarity stated.

“Spike. You and your friends have caused so much confusion and delay for all of us just so you can goof off and not do your chores! How could you be so childish and selfish!?”

The entire Town seemed to become silence. Even the crickets and the tumbleweeds stopped as the attention was drawn to the centre of town. Nearly everypony stopped what they were doing to raise their eyebrows and look at the six ponies. Their judgemental eyes looking down on them. The mane six noticed and looked around town to see the looks they were getting. They all looked confused as to why they would receive such looks. But they were yet to see the scariest glare.

The six looked back at Spike to see the dragon with the most enraged face on him, his friends joining him or looking worried at Spike for his safety.

“EXCUSE ME!!!??” Spike roared, his voice filled with the rage equivalent to making a hundred foot dragon jump.

“Did you really just say that!?” The six ponies were now starting to regret getting out of their beds this morning.

“Do you even know what I have done for you!? Do you have any idea!?” Spike said with a face that expresses disbelief in the six ponies before him.

“I have done everything for you! I stayed back when you went on adventures, either looking after books or pets while you did amazing things!” He said, Fluttershy taking most of this hurt.

“I have been pushed aside when all I wanted to do was help!” Spike continued. Applejack looked down at the ground due to this.

“I have had to take on so many pranks, most of which could have had me in the hospital! I nearly drowned in a lake during the Winter Wrap Up for Celestia’s sake!”

“I’ve had to miss out on so much. Cloudsdale, Pinkie’s parties, picnics. Heck, I even missed out on Twilights birthday because you moved it to Canterlot and didn’t invite me. Where’s the excuse for that!?” Spike asked. The six could give no answer.

“And most of all, for I cannot stress this enough as it is! I have done nothing but serve you guys for the last few years of my life!” Spike pointed out.

“I have been a pincushion for dress making so many times I have no idea if my scales can grow back normally! Or if they're damaged to a point they cannot fix themselves!” Rarity knew this was directed mainly at her, for she began to water at the eyes for losing count of the times Spike has helped her with her dresses.

Spike then looked directly into Twilights eyes, which made her wish Nightmare Moon was standing there instead.

“And Twilight! In the home, we supposedly share because you make me sleep in a basket! Who does the mopping? The dusting? The shelving? The cooking? The washing? The Shopping for food and furniture? ME! It’s always me! I always do it! And do you care!? DO YOU CARE ABOUT WHAT I DO FOR YOU GUYS!?” Spike was getting to the point of no return, but Twilight tried to stop it.

“O-of course we do Spike! We always appreciate what you do.” She tried to calm Spike down. The five behind her nodding in agreement.

“Then why do I never hear a thank you from ANY OF YOU!?” Spike exploded.

“Every little thing I do. Every act of kindness from you guys. I could take it all for nothing if I at least got recognized for what I did! That’s it!” He said.

The six ponies began to gasp as Spike started to tear up. His face of anger slowly turned into one of sadness as he began to cry. He dropped to his knees and sobbed as Applebloom quickly hugged him from behind. Twilight was breaking inside from the sight.

“I-I do so m-much for you…b-but I never get thanks o-or go do fun stuff with you…” Spike said between sobs before he suddenly leaned back and screamed into the sky.

“AND I’M ONLY A KID!!!”

Spike’s cries and weeps increased as he slumped back down. Applebloom and his other friends immediately came to his aid.

The six ponies hearts broke as they saw the dragon that they now realised had done so much was falling apart after all the work they’ve forced. The ponies dare not move from their spots, all they could do was were looks of shame or horror. The guilt that was brought on by them discovering the many things they had done to Spike, who they had just learned was a child. The guilt helped with the shame, oh but that’s not all!

The mane six looked up to see they had no friends in this fight. It seemed the entire town was looking with hatred towards the six, whatever they were doing previously seemed to not matter anymore.

Twilight was the first to try and step forward. She felt like she needed to be the first. She was Spike’s first friend after all, and as of now, she had the most guilt.

“Spike, I-“

She had no time to finish as a beam of blue light flew past her. It burned the ground and caused Twilight to jump back in fright. Once the beam died down, Twilight and nearly every other pony looked towards Vinyl Scratch on what looked like a Speaker.

“Misfire! Sorry!” She said.

Twilight took deep breaths, trying to get her mind running straight after nearly getting hurt. But she saw Bonbon and Lyra soon exit from the crowd and walk towards Spike. Their worried expressions were the sign that made Spike’s friends back away. Lyra grabbed the exhausted Spike and placed him on Bonbon’s back.

Twilight began to walk again but she was soon stopped by a red hoof. She looked to see the towering Big Mac looking down on her.

“A think ya've done enough.” He said in his usual tone, but Twilight could hear a small hint of anger.

Big Mac looked at the other five who were standing back.

“Big Mac?” Applejack asked.

“Y’all should head back home…Ah, think enough’s been done to the poor fellow. ‘Specially ‘fore the show tonight.” Big Mac said. He looked towards Bonbon and Lyra who the crowd had made a gap for walked away with Spike’s friends in tow.

Twilight and her friends watched in sadness. As Spike seemed to disappear and the crowd dispersed back to their normal activities. The mane six slowly but surely left each other and the town centre to head back to their homes.

Bonbon and Lyra entered their home with Spike’s friends following. They headed for Spike’s temporary room. Lyra used her magic to take Spike and place him on the bed.

“Are you alright Spike?” Bonbon asked.

“Y-yeah,” Spike said.

“Are you sure you can still go to the show tonight?” Lyra asked.

“Yep, I’ll be alright. Thanks, guys.” Spike said to them all. His friends and caretakers all smiled as Spike smiled back.

“I think we should leave Spike alone for now guys. Come on, we’ll get you guys something to eat.” Bonbon said. Spike was left alone to rest as his friends, Bonbon and Lyra left him alone. But before he could close his eyes for a small nap, he had one sadder thought on his mind.

Why Twilight?

Twilight’s door creaked open as she opened the door to the Golden Oaks Library. She looked around to look at her home. Spotless as ever, without a speck of dust. She continued her guilt walk up the stairs and to her bed.

Her eyes were covered in water as she fell onto her bed. She grabbed her pillow and squeezed the daylights out of it. She wept and wept much like Spike did earlier, but she was weeping for all she had done. She looked back and saw what Spike had said was right. He was left behind. He was used. He did do so much. He never did get thanks. He did it all, and what did she give? A reminder now and then about how she acknowledged his existence? That was nowhere near enough.

She also slapped herself mentally for not realising or remembering the fact Spike was still a child. She had done many amazing tests and studied to her full capacity which usually caused her to fall asleep in study sessions, but she couldn’t remember Spike’s age.

What was I doing? I’m such an idiot. Spike…

She looked at the sun that began to set in the sun. She was reminded of something that happened years, back in Canterlot. When Spike was a couple of years old.

…I’m sorry.

After the whole outburst with Spike, each of the mane six headed home for the afternoon. All of them going over exactly what Spike had said.

Carousel Boutique

Rarity entered her home/workplace, aiming to get herself some tea to help her mind that was focused on Spike. She looked around her pieces of work, re-imagining the countless times Spike had helped her with her work for nothing. She shook her head and continued to the kitchen.

As she began to make the tea and let the kettle boil, she reached for a tea bag and pulled out a peppermint bag with her magic, her favourite flavour. She remembered seeing Spike always reach for the peppermint tea without even having to look for it when he offered to make it while she worked. She snapped out as the kettle whistled.

Rarity sipped her tea as she sat at a table. She waited for Sweetie Belle to return back home before the talent show. When Sweetie Belle told her she was in the show, she was so proud of her little sis. But the same couldn’t be said vice versa for what Rarity had done to Spike. No matter how much she changed the subject, Spike would always pop back into her mind. She thought about her business, then Spike appeared again; she thought about her gems, Spike appeared once more. Spike, Spike, Spike, Spike, Spike and Spike.

Rarity couldn’t pretend to not acknowledge about the impact Spike had on her life. Spike was always there to help her, spending a lot of his free time to help her. He had done some many favours for Rarity but what did she give him in return? A peck on the cheek and gems every so often? She knew now that it’s not enough for what he does.

Rarity took a sip of her tea, and the impact was more clearer as the tea didn’t taste as good as it usually did. Spike was even there for the little things, and he was good at it.

Rarity’s attention was soon drawn to the ring of the doorbell, meaning someone had just walked into the boutique. She saw Sweetie Belle, and could just tell from her face how upset her little sister was with her. Nether the less, she attempted to make conversation.

“Hey Sweetie Belle, getting ready for the talent show?” she asked, placing a big grin on her face. Sweetie Belle just glanced at Rarity with a look that could kill before walking on.

“You know it’s rude to ignore you Sister Sweetie Belle.” Rarity said, not giving up on the conversation.

“Do you know it’s rude to be selfish?” Sweetie Belle spoke back.

“Sweetie Belle, you don’t understand.-“

“No Rarity, you don’t understand.” Sweetie Belle said as she stopped walking up the stairs and turned to Rarity.

“You don’t understand how much you’ve hurt Spike.” She said.

“Sweetie Belle, how dare you say that!”

“’I dare say that?’ How dare you use Spike like a tool without a thought about him and his feelings! You didn’t even care when he had that crush on you!” Sweetie Belle stated. Rarity just sighed and took a sip of her tea.

“Sweetie Belle, can you please get ready for the talent show. I’ve got a lot on my mind right now.” Rarity asked. Sweetie Belle started walking back up the stairs as she mumbled so Rarity could hear.

“You’re doing this because you know I’m right.”

Rarity did know Sweetie Belle was right, she couldn’t begin to discover how much she must have hurt Spike. The fact she ignored his feelings was even worse, thinking it was a simple childish crush.

“I am no lady. No, scratch that, I’m not the element of generosity. I am no better than…Blueblood.”

Rarity physically cringed at the thought of the prince, and she felt cold and disgusted as she had just compared herself to such a creature. She sighed as she finished her tea.

“My Spikey Wikey.”

Fluttershy’s cottage

Fluttershy walked into her cottage, and walked into to see a creature that could only be described as the result shoving every creature on the planet into a blender to mesh them together. Various different animal body parts accompanied the flying serpent with his goat head and yellow eyes. It was currently dusting the place when he noticed the yellow pony.

“Well afternoon Fluttershy!” the creature said in a cheerful tone.

“Hello Discord.” Fluttershy responded as she walked in.

“So Spike seems to be upset with you.” Discord said casually, which Fluttershy took shocked.

“How did you know that Discord?”

“I’m the spirit of chaos my dear, I’ve known from the start of this little thing what Spike was doing.” Discord admitted.

“You did?” Fluttershy asked, flying up to Discords face.

‘”Indeed; in fact you almost found him once.” He told her.

“Then why didn’t you tell me?”

“Well I have to admit, at first I was interested to see how long it would run. But after sometime and a little bit of my own research, and I’m behind the little guy now.” Discord explained.

Fluttershy was about to rebuttal but Discord turned himself into four discords wearing cheerleader outfits and holding pom-poms.

“Spike, Spike, he’s our man! If he can’t do it, no one can!”

Fluttershy had lived with Discord long enough to know not to question the spirit. Discord then turned back into his regular form.

“And what exactly gives you the right to question me Fluttershy? I thought you were the element of Kindness but it appears you’ve been ignoring Spike like the rest. Granted you’ve probably done the least to him but still, you’ve hurt the little dragon.” Discord said.

Fluttershy took in what Discord had said. She did remember the first day he was here she was fascinated by him, being a baby dragon and all, but she soon began to ignore him as well. She was supposed to be the element of Kindness but she had ignored him, doing the exact opposite of kindness.

“Oh dear…I hope Spike can forgive us.”

In the skies of Ponyville

Rainbow Dash was flying fast as she usually did, practising her flying and moves. She would always do this in her free time, feeling the wind blow along her fur and wings, the freedom of the skies. She took a break and hovered above a field for a while.

“Whoa, nearly beat my record on the triple Rainbow Twirl. One more try before I head back home.” She said to herself.

Rainbow then spotted Scootaloo on her scooter below her, which made Rainbow wonder how mad Scootaloo is with her. She flew down and stared following behind Scootaloo from above.

“Hey squirt.” She said, Scootaloo not answering her and trying to speed up.

“How’re your wings coming along?”

Scootaloo just kept going faster, trying to leave Rainbow behind. Rainbow sighed, knowing Scootaloo was still mad at her.

“Come on squirt. Can you stop ignoring me so we can just talk?”

“Why? You did it to Spike, why can’t I do this to you?” Scootaloo said back.

“Don’t do this to me Scoot.” Rainbow said.

“Then why did you do it to Spike?” Scootaloo said.

“Squirt listen for a sec-“

“No, how about you Dash.”

Scootaloo skidded to a halt and looked up at Rainbow.

“You’re supposed to be Awesome! The Amazing Awesome Rainbow Dash! Element of Loyalty! Future Wonderbolt captain!” Scootaloo proclaimed.

“But you’ve hurt Spike, and that’s not cool. And it defiantly isn’t awesome…see you at the talent show tonight.”

Scootaloo started pushing against the ground and turned back towards Ponyville. She left Rainbow Dash to think over what she said.
Rainbow looked back on her relationship with Spike since he arrived in Ponyville. He seemed cool, being the only real guy out of the new group of friends, and he was a dragon so that was an added bonus. But she also thought of how she treated the little guy, making jokes about him and pulling pranks. She thought they were funny but now she began to think she went too far with some of the jokes.

Throughout all the fun and laughs she had, Spike wasn’t laughing; or if he was it was usually forced. She would always laugh at Spike’s expense, and treat him with little to no respect.

She remembered all the jokes she told Spike, and none could hit her harder than when she joked about Spike not flying. To her, flying was her life, she couldn’t imagine herself without her wings. The feeling she got when she flew, something Spike hadn’t experienced, and she made of him for it.

She then realised Spike really hadn’t seen her do the sonic rainboom, or been to Cloudsdale. He was left behind, left to clean, grounded. She just stayed there, mentally smacking herself for what she did.

Sugarcube Corner

Pinkie Pie walked into the bakery at a slow pace, totally unlike her usual way of movement which was to bounce up and down. Her mane was also different, the poofy mane now straight.

She walked past the counter and up the stairs to her room, where she closed the door to not be interrupted.

Pinkie Pie was not happy, which meant something big had happened to her because of her usual constant happy nature. She was sad, not only with what happened in town but what she had also done to Spike.

She remembered how thay partied greatly together at Twilight’s welcoming party, and how she always thought him to be a scaly teddy bear. But she started to remember her parties, and how many times Spike was actually there. She felt worse because the number was so small.

How many times did she forget him? How many times did she pull pranks on him? She didn’t know and that disappointed her.

She began to tear up, and began to fully cry, think how she hurt Spike. She rolled on the floor, crying and wailing, until-

“Wait! I got it!”

-or you could just cut me off from my sentence.

“Quite narrator!”

I have a name you know.

“That’s not important right now!” Pinkie said as her mane and tail became poofy once more.

“I’ll throw a big party for Spike! It’ll be great! They’ll be streamers and balloons and presents- And CAKE!” Pinkie said to herself, making a mental check list. She immediately zoomed out of the room, determined to make the best party ever for Spike.

Sweet Apple Acres

Applejack walked through the apple orchards, her home in the distance. She watched as the apples swung in the cold breeze that was blowing in, making her move faster to get home.

She arrived home to see Granny Smith in her rocking chair.

“Howdy Granny Smith.”

“Well hello there Applejack.” Granny Smith replied.

Applejack left the old pony and walked into the kitchen, going to the fridge and making herself a glass of apple juice. She sat down at the table, her drink in hoof as she looked back on Spike and what he’s done for her, heck what he’s done for the farm.

She remembers a particular incident, one involving a dragon code and Timberwolves. She treated him so weird even though he tried so hard to make her happy, he was just trying to help her out.

If there one thing other than honesty Applejack respects in a person is effort, and Spike was nothing short of effort. He always put his best in, always tried to help, and she and the others used that to their advantage.

She finished her apple juice when she heard the door open, and then hoof steps stomping up the stairs. She didn’t need to look to know who was back.

She put the glass in the sink and walked up the stairs to see Applebloom about to walk into her room.

“Hey Applebloom.” Applejack said awkwardly.

Applebloom just glared at her sister before mumbling.

“Howdy Applejack.” Applebloom said with her voice filled with venom.

“Say what? Can ya speak up?”

“I said Howdy Applejack.” Applebloom said more forced now. Applejack just sighed and followed Applebloom into her room.

“Look, ah know ya upset ‘bout what happened in town. But ah was just-“

“Oh ah’m more than upset Applejack. Ah’m disappointed and frustrated with ya. How could ya call Spike selfish? After all he’s done for us? He’s Sweet, caring, friendly…and ya just spat in his face!” Applebloom said.

“Ah did no such thing!”

“Really? What about tha Iron hoof Competition? What about tha Timberwolves? What about all tha work ya asked Spike ta do for free!?” Applebloom said.

Applejack was about to respond but Applebloom cut her off.

“Ya know what, forget it. Ah gotta get ready for tha show tonight.” She said.

“But ya didn’t enter the show, why ya goin’?”

“To see Spike and support him! Ya really have no idea da ya!?” Applebloom said before slamming the door in Applejack’s face.

“Applebloom! Applebloom! Open up right now!” Applejack said banging on the door.

“La la la la! Can’t hear ya!”

“Applebloom!”

Applejack continued to knock but she got no answer. She eventually gave up and saw Big Mac in the hallway.

“Big Mac, help me with Applebloom, She’s being stubborn again.”

“Nope.”

Applejack looked at Big Mac with wide eyes like he was kidnapped and replaced with an imposter.

“Why not?”

“Ah think it’s pretty obvious she doesn’t wanna talk to ya yet. It’ll take some time for her ta forgive ya, although she’s probably not tha one you should apoligise to first.” Big Mac explained as he walked into his room. Applejack was about to follow him but she realised who exactly he was talking about, and just walked back into her room. She walked to her mirror and looked herself In the mirror.

“And you call yourself an Apple…”

Several years ago.

In Canterlot Castle, a younger Twilight Sparkle and Spike were currently talking in Twilight’s bedroom. Twilight was much shorter and Spike’s spines were beginning to grow and his baby fat was slowly coming off.

“Okay Spike, you sure you’re going to be okay?”

“I’m sure.” The baby dragon said, holding a bag of bits.

“Alright, but you know I care about you right? You don’t have to go alone, I could come with you.”

“Twilight. I want to do this. I want to help you. Please let me do it.” Spike said. Twilight sighed before smiling.

“Okay Spike, just get back before dark.” She said, he nodded and walked off to the markets.

Spike walked the streets of wealthy streets of Canterlot, a smile on his face as he felt good today. Nothing could ruin his day, nothing.

“Hey lizard.”

Except for this.

Spike looked to see a stallion dressed in fine clothes and a mare in an expensive dress.

“Yes sir?”

“You’re standing in my way.” The stallion said, Spike stepped aside.

“Oh, sorry.”

“Look at that dear, it knows its superiors.” The mare said as they passed Spike.

“Quite right.” The stallion said.

Spike looked at the two ponies weird, at his young age he didn’t know why somepony would classify themselves as superior, and he hadn’t even heard that word before.

“Well that was weird.” He said as he carried on.

He collected the apples from the market, albeit some strange looks he didn’t notice, and began to head back. What he didn’t notice walking back was a white unicorn colt with a yellow mane and his friends creeping up on the dragon.

“Look at this gentlemen, some vermin got into the city. As Prince of Equestria and as loyal citizens, we must teach it a lesson that only the best unicorns should be allowed here.” The colt said.

Twilight was sitting patiently at the door, waiting for Spike to return. It was almost time for the moon to come up so she was getting worried. She soon heard a knock on the door and instantly opened it.

She gasped at the sight she saw, Spike had come back with no food or bits, was covered in dirt and mud, had several bruises on his body, was holding his left arm, and was crying furiously.

“Spike!? What happened!?” Twilight asked as she rushed over to the dragon.

“Well…” Spike said through his sniffles. “I was w-walking ba-ack, when these c-colts came from beh-hind me. T-They pushed me, punched me, called me names and…and…” Spike jumped at Twilight and gripped onto her body, crying into her fur.

Twilight looked at Spike sadly and began to hold him, closing the door with her magic.

“There there, it’s okay, it’s okay. I’m here, I’m here.” She told him.

They stayed like this for a while, until Spike started stopping to cry.

“You okay?” Twilight asked.

“No…No not really.” Spike said whipping his eyes of tears.

“Come on, I’ll give you a bath.” She said as she carried the dragon to the bathroom.

Twilight gave the drake a good bath, with bubbles. Spike found some enjoyment with the foam as Twilight scrubbed the Drake of the mud and dirt, cleaning the dragon, and giggling when he made himself a bubble beard.

Twilight then dried Spike off and began to wrap his wounds in bandages before she carried Spike to her bed and climbed in. She used her magic to put the candles out and tucked both her and Spike into bed.

“Try to get some sleep Spike, you need some rest.” She said.

“T-Twilight?”

“Yeah Spike?” Twilight looked down to see the dragon look up to her.

“A-am I u-useless?” He asked.

“No Spike. You’re anything but useless.”

“Okay…Twilight?”

“Yes Spike?”

“W-will you always be there for me?” Spike asked.

“Of course Spike. No matter what, I’ll always be there for you, I promise.” Twilight told him.

“Promise?”

“Promise.”

Twilight had completely soaked her pillow with her tears as she pulled her head up.

“But I never was there.”

She continued to cried, for hour and hours, until it was only minutes away from the talent shows beginning.

Time for the Show!

View Online

Twilight’s pillow by now had enough water soaked in to fill a bathtub, her tears seemingly never ceasing. Her mind a mess, thinking over everything she did to Spike again and again. Her body felt weak and could only silently cry.

I left him behind, I made him work for nothing, I never thanked him, and I used him.

I was there for him alright, there to make him work.

I’m so sorry Spike, I’m so sorry Spike.

I’m sorry.

I’m sorry.

I’m sorry.

I’m sorry.

I’m sorry.

I’M SORRY!

I’M SORRY!

AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

A thump in the library that broke the silence pulled twilight away from her pillow. A book had fell off one of Twilight’s bookcases, a very dusty and thick book.

She sniffled and used her magic to pull the book over to her, setting it on her pillow in front of her. She blew the dust off the reveal the title.

Memories

She flipped the cover over to reveal pictures of her and Spike in Canterlot. She remembered the photographs were the first she and Spike had together. There was a picture of a younger her holding a newly hatched Spike in her hooves for the first time, the first study lesson Spike helped her with, His first birthday, and the two for them sleeping next to a fireplace.

Twilight was about to break into tears again, possibly ruining the photographs, but something inside her stopped her. Something weird began to surface inside Twilight, she felt like she would cry and should cry, but she couldn’t. Something inside her wouldn’t let her cry, no matter her attempts to. Instead, a smile slowly began to form on the Unicorns face; a small one, but a smile none the less.

She turned the page over, and over, and over. Each page revealing more and more pictures of her and Spike together as the years went on. She saw as Spike’s spines grew, his baby fat decreased and he got slightly taller; her mane and height also getting bigger.

But as she flipped more and more, Spike began to fade away and was replaced with her new friends. It got so bad until the point where he was relatively non-existent in the last photographs, and all that was left of the book was empty pages. Twilight closed the book and placed it back on the shelf as she fell into her mattress.

I thought you were happy Spike, being my little number one assistant.

I was wrong.

I was so, so wrong.

I forgot my promise to you, but the ironic thing is that I think you’ve done what I promised.

You were there for me to bring me down to earth.

You were there to clean up after me.

You were there to put me back into bed after late night studying.

You were there to give support when I first arrived in Ponyville.

You were there to cook breakfast because I was so terrible.

You were always there, when it should have been me.

You always listened, when I should have listened to you.

You were always so determined to help me, no matter what I did.

You were always there to help me.

You wanted to help me.

Twilight looked out of her window to see the lights of the Ponyville talent show.

“And it’s time I gave something back.”

Twilight hopped out of her bed and rushed to her bathroom, trying to clean herself up as her hair was a mess and her fur was stained with tears. She quickly brushed her hair and dried her fur before rushing out of the library and locking the door. Her mind focusing on getting to the show in time.

Ponyville’s Talent show was lighting the town up, almost everypony in town was there. The backstage crew using all their strength and ability to make sure everypony in the show got to perform perfectly and on time. The crowd watched from the bleachers while in front sat the three judges of the show. The Mayor of town, and the two princesses, Luna and Celestia; both of which are the two most powerful beings and rulers of Equestria. So no pressure.

Many performances had already been completed for the night. Many natives of Ponyville showing to their princesses just what they can do. Acts ranged from Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon’s cutie mark dance to Scootaloo’s Scooter tricks, the latter being better than the former.

Now among the audience was the mane five, either here to perform, to support or because the others were going so they decided to come along. Pinkie Pie had already performed and joined her friends. Rainbow, Applejack and Rarity all coming for their sibling’s performance to cheer them on. And Fluttershy was the pony that decided to join her friends.

Although the talent show kept them entertained, it couldn’t distract them from the looks they got from others and the feeling of guilt weighed them down. Each of them still had no idea how they would fix the issue, no clue on how they should carry it out. Their minds using all the spare resources to try to find a solution, but to no avail.

Their thought process was cut off as the duo of Snips and Snails brought the talent show to a halt as their magic trick with sawing the box in half had gone wrong, causing the curtains to close and the manager call for a five minute break to fix any technical issue.

It was at that moment Twilight burst through the side doors, getting the attention of the princesses. The two walked up and stopped Twilight from running through the stage by holding her back.

“Calm down Twilight, calm down.” Luna said.

Twilight eventually stopped trying to burst through and stopped moving, allowing the Princesses to let her go.

“What is the rush Twilight?” Celestia asked.

“I was trying to find Spike. Trying to apologise.” Twilight explained as she caught her breathe.

“The hay are you doing Twi?”

Twilight saw her five friends walk over to check up on her.

“Trying to apologise to Spike.” Twilight said.

“Darling, you were just going to rush in a try to immediately apologise?” Rarity said.

“Well at least I’m trying instead of just sitting and watching a show!”
Twilight said.

“We’re thinking of a plan! Not rushing in!” Rainbow said.

“Oh you’re one to talk miss ‘crash through the library window every other week’.” Twilight said.

All six of them began to have an argument, everypony else in the theatre either watching or trying to ignore the noise.

“ENOUGH!”

Everypony in the theatre did turn to look at Princess Luna, who immediately blushed at the attention. Celestia coughed, giving the sign to everypony to resume to usual activities.

“Thank you Luna. I think we really need it.” Celestia said to her sister before looking down on her student and her friends.

“Now I am personally ashamed of you all. You are the elements of harmony, representatives of the magic of friendship and heroes of Equestria. So when I got a letter from Spike on how you’ve apparently been treating him, I was completely shocked.”

“Indeed Sister. Twilight, you were the one who introduced me to the concept of friendship after a millennium on the moon, yet from what I have heard you’ve treated Spike like a dog.” Luna said.

“I thought I could trust Spike with you Twilight, you were so happy when you first started to take care in him, and I thought a beautiful connection would bloom in the future. Now I am disappointed in you, and your friends.” Celestia finished.

Twilight’s mind immediately froze and she went into shock. She always feared Celestia being mad or angry with her, but her worst fear was Celestia being disappointed in her. Now that it was a reality, she felt worse than ever before. She was about to cry from disappointment, but kept herself together.

No, no crying. Be strong, for Spike.

Twilight looked right up at Celestia and Luna’s eyes.

“I know I haven’t treated Spike right. I have probably hurt him more than I could ever fix. I know he won’t forgive me straight away. But he is special to me, to us, and I’ll keep trying to fix our relationship, no matter how long it takes. As long as I can call Spike my friend again.”

Twilight then turned to her friends who she had yelled at.

“Girls, I’m sorry for yelling at you. I was just under stress and wasn’t thinking straight. Can you forgive me?”

“Sure, don’t sweat it Twilight.” Rainbow said.

“We’ll apologise to Spike together.” Fluttershy said, patting Twilight on the back.

“Thank girls, you’re the best.” Twilight said.

Celestia and Luna watched the six ponies and small smiles grew on their faces, they looked past their previous actions to see they at least learn something. They felt hopeful that the mane six could fix their relationship with Spike.

“Okay everypony, we’re about to start the next act! Please take your seats and we’ll continue on with the show.” The manager announced before heading backstage.

The mane six walked back to their spots and sat down while the princesses returned to the judges table. The curtains pulled back to reveal Spike standing in the middle of the stage.

(Five minutes earlier)

Spike was stressed to say the least. He was waiting backstage while the crew tried to fix the mess Snails and Snips made. He was trying to get some last minute practise in before he went on, trying to perfect it so he wouldn’t mess up on stage. He finished his act before Sweetie Belle came up, wearing a dress Rarity especially made for her and the talent show.

“Hey Spike.”

“Oh hey Sweetie Belle.”

“Last minute practise?” She asked.

“Yeah, trying to not stuff it up.” Spike said.

“Come on, you’ll do fine. You’ve practised plenty to get it right.” Sweetie Belle said.

“Yeah but still; I could stuff this up.” Spike said.

"Trust me Spike, you’ll do great.” Sweetie Belle said.

Spike smiled and pulled the pony into a hug.

“Thanks Sweetie Belle, and good luck with your performance.” Spike said.

“No problem Spike.” Sweetie Belle said as she returned the hug and let go of Spike.

“Plus you wouldn’t want to disappoint Applebloom would you?” Sweetie Belle said. Spike immediately went red at the cheeks.

“How did you know that?” Spike asked.

“I’m one of her best friends, she tells me stuff you’ll probably never know.”

“Like what?’

“Ah ah ah! It’s a secret!” Sweetie Belle told him before she trotted away to get ready for her performance. Spike just smiled before getting a tap on the back. He turned to see the manager of the talent show.

“You’re on next Spike, get to the stage quick.”

“Okay, thanks.”

Spike walked out onto the middle of the stage, and took a deep breath as the curtains opened up. He watched through the crowd to see his new friends, Applebloom, Lyra and Bonbon wave from the back of the theatre. But what he wasn’t expecting to see, was Twilight, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Fluttershy and Rainbow also in the theatre.

Spike would have to ignore the shock as he had a performance to do, and took one final breath before beginning.

Everypony in the chairs watched with curiosity as Spike seemed to begin aimlessly slapping his knees, clapping his claws and snapping his fingers. Although it began as sporadic, the audience could slowly make it out as a beat to a song. They we’re intrigued as to where it was heading, and to see where he would go with it. They got their answer when he opened his mouth.

If you love somebody
Better tell them while they’re here ‘cause
They may just run away from you

Spike’s act soon began to reveal itself as he was able to copy the sound and beat of the song fairly decently with his clapping and slapping. The first three lines quickly struck Twilight and her friends.

You’ll never know quite when, well
Then again it just depends on
How long of time is left for you

Spike looked out of the crowd and directly at Applebloom, who was in awe at Spike’s singing.

I’ve had the highest mountains
I’ve had the deepest rivers
You can have it all but life keeps moving

I take it in but don’t look down…

‘Cause I’m on top of the world, ‘ay!

The audience was pleasantly surprised to see Spike stop slapping his knees and snapping his fingers, just to clap at a constant pace, stamping his foot and singing at the top of his voice with what one could only describe as complete joy.

I’m on top of the world, ‘ay
Waiting on this for a while now
Paying my dues to the dirt
I’ve been waiting to smile, ‘ay
Been holding it in for a while, ‘ay
Take you with me if I can
Been dreaming of this since a child
I’m on top of the world.

There wasn’t a pony in the theatre who couldn’t smile at Spike’s performance. He was having so much fun with his performance, you couldn’t help but feel good inside. Spike’s new friends and caretakers began to cheer spike on as he sung. Twilight and her friends even began to smile, seeing Spike displaying joy a way she had never seen him show it before. Kinda made her think just how much did she know about Spike. Pinkie Pie was the first one to start dancing in her chair, earning some odd looks from her friends.

“What? It’s a good song.”

Her friends agreed and focused back on Spike as he began to snap his fingers once again.

I’ve tried to cut these corners
Try to take the easy way out
I kept on falling short of something

Spike took a deep breath and looked at the audience with a smile before singing again.

I coulda gave up then but
Then again I couldn’t have ’cause
I’ve traveled all this way for something

I take it in but don’t look down

‘Cause I’m on top of the world, ‘ay

Spike once again started to clap and sing at the top of his lungs. He once again forced ponies to smile just from the effort he was putting in, but with a little extra. Lyra began to stand up and openly dance, causing ponies to stare with wonder and Bonbon to blush with embarrassment. Her dancing got Applebloom, Rumble, Pip, Dinky, and Featherweight to join in with the dancing. Ponies around them started to dancing in their seats, finding it hard to not dance.

I’m on top of the world, ‘ay
Waiting on this for a while now
Paying my dues to the dirt
I’ve been waiting to smile, ‘ay
Been holding it in for a while, ‘ay
Take you with me if I can
Been dreaming of this since a child
I’m on top of the world.

Oooooooo... OoooAhhhhhOoooAhhhhh

Oooooooo... OoooAhhhhhOoooAhhhhh

As Spike sang the chorus once more, something really shocked the residents of Ponyville. Sure, colts, fillies and regular ponies dancing to this song was understandable; But a Princess openly dancing? Yep, Princess Luna had been itching in her seat before and now she was dancing like mad in front of her sister and her subjects. This caught everypony’s attention in the room, except for Spike who was to in the moment of his performance.

This act from their princess eased the tension or fear some ponies had and they to begin to jump from their seats and danced to the song. Pinkie Pie, already up since Lyra stood up, was joined by her friends and they all dance together, cheering Spike on as they did.

I’m on top of the world, ‘ay
Waiting on this for a while now
Paying my dues to the dirt
I’ve been waiting to smile, ‘ay
Been holding it in for a while, ‘ay
Take you with me if I can
Been dreaming of this since a child
I’m on top of the world.

Spike opened his eyes to a sight he thought he would never see. He saw everypony in the audience dancing to his singing. His earlier questions of stuffing up where blown away from the sight of his friends all cheering and dancing, which encouraged him to smile deviously and keep on singing.

And I know it’s hard when you’re falling down
And it’s a long way up when you hit the ground
Get up now, get up, get up now.

Spike looked at the only few ponies left sitting as he told them to get up, which they quickly did joining the rest of town. Even Celestia decided to join in on the fun and was dancing like nopony had ever seen before. Spike got ready as he was prepared to wrap up the last of his performance, raising his claws as he clapped loudly.

And I know it’s hard when you’re falling down
And it’s a long way up when you hit the ground
Get up now, get up, get up now.

I’m on top of the world, ‘ay
Waiting on this for a while now
Paying my dues to the dirt
I’ve been waiting to smile, ‘ay
Been holding it in for a while, ‘ay
Take you with me if I can
Been dreaming of this since a child
I’m on top of the world.

Spike then slapped his knees and snapped his fingers a few more times before finally finishing his performance. He took a bow as everypony in the audience cheered at the top of their voices, clapping or stomping if unable to clap. Spike stood back up to see the mane six all standing and clapping for him, smiles on their faces. He took this as a message, that maybe they do care, or their now trying to show how much he means to them, so he smiled with glee. He waved to everypony before walking off backstage.

Spike soon joined Applebloom in the stands, we’re he received a huge hug out of nowhere.

“That was incredible Spike! You were fantastic!” Applebloom said.

“Thanks Applebloom…could you, uh, let me go now?”

“Huh? OH! Right, right, sorry.” Applebloom said letting go of Spike, the two left red at the cheeks.

“Um, Spike, there’s something ah gotta ask ya.” Applebloom said.

“Okay.” Spike said.

“Um…Ah’ll tell ya after tha show, alright?”

“Alright then. Cool.” Spike said, the awkwardness of the situation still not leaving until Rumble, Pip, and Featherweight came over.

“That was awesome Spike!” Rumble said.

“Yeah, you knocked it right outta Tha park.” Pip added.

“Thanks guys, could have done it without you.” Spike told them.

“Oh, and what about us, hmm?”

Spike looked up to see Lyra and Bonbon.

“I guess you didn’t really care for the pizza we got you.” Lyra said, Spike however laughed at her.

“I couldn’t forget you guys of course.” Spike said going up and giving the two’s legs a hug, which they replied with happily.

“Quick guys, Sweetie’s on next!” Featherweight said, which led to everypony and dragon to sit down as Sweetie Belle took the stage.

The rest of the show passed on through the night. Sweetie belles singing got an applause similar to that which Spike got, and the rest of the acts were entertaining and quickly over. Soon it was time to announce the winners.

Mayor Mare, Celestia and Luna all stood on stage while the podium was placed in the middle for the winners to collect their gifts, which were held in the air by Celestia’s magic.

“My dear subjects, my sister and I thank you all for showing up tonight to show your support of your fellow towns’ ponies. And we thank the mayor for inviting us to judge alongside her. I would also like to congratulate everypony that performed tonight, it takes a lot of courage to stand in front of so many ponies. Now it is time to announce the winners of tonight’s talent show.” Celestia said, gaining an applause for the audience.

“3rd place goes to Bulk Biceps for his thirty pony push-up demonstration.” Celestia said as Mayor Mare gave Bulk a coupon for the local spa.

“YEAH!” He yelled as he took his place on the podium and his coupon,
several ponies giving their round of applause for his extensive feat.

“2nd place goes to Spike for his unique ability and singing of ‘On top of the world’”.

Luna walked over and gave Spike a check for five hundred bits, which he accepted with a smile and listen to the applause he got from the audience.

“And 1st place goes to…Sweetie Belle! Whose singing earns her the first place prize!”

Celestia walked over and gave Sweetie Belle a trophy roughly the size of Spike, who tried to lift with her hooves but had to place it quickly on the podium. Nevertheless, she smiled and waved to the crowd as the audience, the Princesses, Mayor Mare, Bulk Biceps and Spike applauded her. Rarity was essentially emotional, blowing hard into a tissue for sheer joy and getting her coat wet with tears.

Once the show had ended and a lot of ponies began to go home, Spike was looking at his prize backstage when he noticed Applebloom come up to him.

“Hey Applebloom.”

“Howdy Spike.”

“You want to tell me now?”

“Not here, can ya follow me please?”

“Sure, let's go.”

So the two left the theatre, the two saying goodbye to their friends for the night and Spike telling Lyra and Bonbon he would get home later. They left the busy part of town and ended up in a quiet little street. The two just walking in silence, looking at the stairs above.

“Ya know, ah’m kinda disappointed.” Spike turned to Applebloom.

“About what?”

“Well, ah’m glad Sweetie won and all, but…ah kinda wanted you ta win.”

“Yeah, I would have liked it to Applebloom. But you know something.” Spike told her.

“What?”

“I don’t need a prize. Sure it would have been nice but I don’t need it to feel happy. Spending these last few days with you, the crusaders, Rumble, Pip, Featherweight, Lyra, Bonbon, have been some of the happiest days in years. As long as I’m with you, our friends and I’m happy; I don’t need anything else in Equestria.” Spike explained to her.

Applebloom smiled at Spike, getting closer and closer to him as he talked.

“As long as you’re here, ah’m happy to.”

“I’m glad Applebloom, I’m glad.” Spike returned with a smile.

“Alright, this should be a good spot.” Applebloom said, checking to make sure nopony was around or in the street.

“Okay, what did you want to tell me?”

“Well…”

The next day.

In Lyra and Bonbon’s house, Spike was going through a pain most people go through his age.

“Ow!”

Trying to get comfortable in a suit.

Spike stood in front of a mirror as Lyra’s magic messed with his suit, him trying to fit her every step of the way.

“Come on, stay still Spike so I can do the bowtie!” Lyra said.

“I can do a bowtie you know.” Spike argued back.

“Yes but you suck at it, so stay still.” Lyra said.

Bonbon was standing at the end of the room, smiling.

“Now I understand how fun it is to watch.”

“Oh shut up Bonbon.”

Bonbon giggled until she heard the doorbell ring. She left the two to fight over the suit while she went to open the door.

She opened the door to reveal Twilight, Rainbow, Pinkie, Applejack, Fluttershy and Rarity. Her happy mood immediately left her as she saw their faces.

“Oh, hey.” She said in a monotone voice.

“Hello Bonbon. Could we borrow Spike for a moment?” Twilight asked.

“What for?” Bonbon asked.

“We’ve come too apologised to him.”

Bonbon thought about it for a minute before sighing and moving out of the way.

“Alright, come in.”

“Thanks Bonbon.” Twilight said.

“I’ll just go get him then.” Bonbon told them as she walked back into the room where Spike had finally gotten his suit finished.

“Spike, they’re someponies here for you.” Bonbon said.

“Okay.” Spike said casually as he walked out of the room.

Spike walked out to see the six mares he had run away from waiting for him in the lounge room. His cheerfulness replaced with just a notice he acknowledged their existed.

“Oh…Hey.” He said to them.

“Spike, we want to talk to you about something.” Twilight said.

“…Ok.” He said, not letting his guard down. Twilight took a deep breathe before letting it out and standing up straight.

“We want to apologise to you. We care about you Spike, you mean a lot to us.”

“Really, because I haven’t really gotten that message across from all the stuff you guys make me do.” Spike argued.

“We know Darling, and I think we’re all ashamed at what we’ve done.” Rarity said, her friends nodding behind her.

“But you’re still important to us Spike, we’ve just forgotten to thank you for it.” Twilight followed.

“That makes it better?” Spike asked.

“No, but you’ve still impacted us. I actually discovered last night that you’re more important to us then you would believe. “Twilight argued.

“How so?” Spike asked.

“You represent each of the elements of harmony Spike. You’ve represented it in one way or another.” Twilight said.

“Ya work as hard as Big Mac in apple season on tha farm, and ya do it without asking for a thing. Ya never fib about ya work, and you’re always honest.” Applejack said.

“You’re always so nice to the animals, and you looked after our pets when we went to the crystal empire. You’re the kindness dragon I know.” Fluttershy added.

“I cannot possibly count the number of times you have put yourself physically after trying to help with my projects. That is a level of generosity I may never achieve.” Rarity said.

“You're always try to lighten to mood and make everypony look at the positives! You like a little bundle of laughter!” Pinkie Pie said.

“I’ve seen you and Twilight hang out, you always help her with what she wants. Loyalty at it's finest, I admire you dude.” Rainbow said.

“When I hatched you in Canterlot, I hatched you using my magic; and since I’m the element of magic, you have a direct link to the element of magic.” Twilight said.

“You still hurt me, you still didn’t thank me.” Spike pointed out.

“We know Spike, we each know how much we hurt you.” Twilight said.

“I don’t think you do.” Spike shot back.

“Beg your pardon?” Twilight asked.

“Girls, I’m still a kid and yet you expected so much from me. I did all of this but I wasn’t happy about it. And what exactly are you saying? You’ve told me the impact but I don’t really know why I should come back. You can say you know what you’ve done, but unless you’ve gone through a similar situation, you really don’t” Spike pointed out.

The mane six were silent, knowing full well Spike was right. They knew they couldn’t fix everything, but they weren’t going to give up yet.

“You’re right Spike, we don’t know what you are going through. And you have the right to be angry or mad at us after what we’ve all done. But we still want to fix things.” Twilight said.

“We wanna be pals again sugarcube, real pals this time.” Applejack said.

“I don’t know girls.” Spike said.

“Give us a chance Spike, try to prove to you we want things to be better.” Twilight asked.

Spike looked at the mane six, they had looks on their faces telling him they were serious. One voice in his head told him to yell at them, tell them no way and keep them out of his life forever, but another voice telling him to go back, to forgive them. He thought on it, taking a deep breathe before talking.

“If I do give you a chance, what are you going to do?”

“From now on, whenever ya come down to tha farm, y’all get paid the same as anypony else who helps at the farm. And ah’ll teach you a few apple family recipes ta use on ya own.” Applejack said.

“No more practical jokes until you say it’s okay, and no more involving anything life threatening. Plus, as an extra bonus, I’ll take you up to Cloudsdale whenever you want.” Rainbow said.

“I will no longer use you as a pincushion when making a dress, and I once again deeply apologise for doing what I now realise is…barbaric! And as the element of Generosity, I will give you gems for whenever you help me.” Rarity said.

“I’m going to throw you a HUGE party! They’ll be candy, present, music, dancing, and CAKE! All for you! I’ll also help you create that gem cake you’ve been itching to make.” Pinkie said.

“I’ll take you see all the animals, I-If you want to. I-I also promise to always listen to you from now o-on. “Fluttershy said.

“Spike, from now own, I promise we each do half the chores, I’ll clean up after myself, to give you days off, let you go to school, and to give you your own room. I’ll also cook breakfast for you if you decide to come and live back with me.” Twilight said.

“I don’t know girls…” Spike said.

“I know you won’t forgive us right away spike and it’s not a lot, but it’s a start.”

“Well…”

“Please Spike, just one chance.” Twilight asked, hoping for the best. Spike just sighed and look at Twilight.

“Okay Twilight, I’ll give it a shot one more time.” He said with a small smile.

Spike was then given a little scare as he got hugged from all sides by the mane six, each smiling as they held the little dragon. Bonbon and Lyra looked at the sight and couldn’t help to smile themselves.

“Thank you Spike.” They all said at once, the dragon smiling before hugging back to the best of his ability. They stayed like this for a while before Spike spoke up.

“Girls, can you let go now? I have to be somewhere soon.”

The mane six let Spike go, who brushed off his suit and checked to make sure it looked good.

“Where do you have to go darling?” Rarity asked.

“Oh, I’m going on a date with Applebloom.”

“WHAT!?” The mane six yelled.

“Yeah, she asked me out yesterday. See ya later!” Spike said as he rushed out of the door and headed for his date.

The six mares just stood there, jaws dropped nearly to the ground. They stayed like this before Applejack stood up and spoke.

“What the-“

The end.
