> A Different Kind of Magic > by frylight_sparkle0 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > A Different Kind of Magic > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Twilight Sparkle, ever diligent, sat herself down in front of a stack of books one morning, ready for another long study session. She cracked open the first book and got started, zipping through the lines before her. She had only heard of this kind of magic in a theoretical sense; she wanted to check up on her facts to learn all she could from other sources before trying it herself. "So, Twilight, what's the subject today?" Twilight made a quick glance at Spike as he set down another small stack of books that Twilight instructed him to get, then turned back to the task at hand. "It's something that's very hard to even find anything about, Spike-- the only mentions of it I could find were in passing, as if it were something nopony understood themselves." She turned to Spike, "Believe it or not, but based on the lack of conclusive evidence, I think I might be pioneering a new kind of magic!" "That's great and all," Spike said, scratching his head, "but… what is it?" Twilight raised her head and closed her eyes pompously, "Food conjuration." "Wow!" Spike exclaimed, "now that sounds like my kind of magic!" "Just think, Spike, if I could learn how to magically conjure food, starvation will become a thing of the past! Of course it probably won't happen overnight, and the results of initial testing might be… meager at best, but I really think I'm onto something here! Now that I've gathered all the volume I know of that mention the subject, I've got some work to do. This could take a while, Spike, do me a favor and go deliver that letter to Princess Celestia, and tell Fluttershy that I'm still on for dinner tomorrow. Maybe I'll have a few tricks to show off too!" "Aye aye!" Spike said, enthusiastically gathering his things. "Oh, and Spike," Twilight added, "Since I'm conducting research and performing experiments with something so unknown, I'm afraid I'm going to be rather indisposed for a while. Unless it's an absolute emergency, please don't interrupt." "Sure thing, Twilight!" Spike gathered the last of his things and headed downstairs to grab the letter to be delivered. Twilight turned back to the book, eager to get started. "Alright, so if I'm not mistaken here, the principle that states that matter…" The day blew by and the sun began to set, but Twilight was still reading as diligently as ever. She had just finished the only paragraph in the enormous volume in front of her that mentioned the subject. All of the other books had been cross referenced, bookmarked, and noted on extensively, and Twilight was just about to get started experimenting. Just in time, too, she was starting to get a little hungry. Her head buzzing with theories and principles, she concentrated as hard as she could, and felt the magic flow into her horn. Eyes clenched, she cast a spell. Tentatively opening her eyes, Twilight saw sitting in front of her nothing more than a single bean. A gasp filled the air and a huge smile spread across her face. "I DID IT!" she cried, rousing Spike from a light nap downstairs. Knowing he wouldn't come up unless instructed, she called him. "Spike, come look at this!" Spike climbed the stairs wearily, "What's up, Twi?" he asked in a sleepy voice. "Look at what I just conjured!" Twilight said proudly, her excitement breaking through in her voice. Spike stared down at the floor in front of him and saw a single solitary bean. "That's it?" Spike said, "I was hoping for a burger or something." Twilight scoffed. "Oh, Spike, don't you see? This proves that all my theories were right!" Spike yawned. "That's great and all Twilight… I'm gonna go downstairs and sort some of the books left over from yesterday." "Could you go ahead and take these books down too please?" Twilight asked, somewhat disappointed (but not surprised) that the little dragon hadn't shared her enthusiasm. Spike nodded sleepily and stacked the books. He hoisted them up and made for the stairs. Spike descended out of sight. As excited as she was, she could see his point. A bean is not the most impressive thing in the world. She didn't even know if it was edible. With her magic, she brought it in front of her face where she gave it a sniff… 'Smells okay,' she thought, and gave it a little lick… 'Tastes okay, too,' she thought. With as much caution as she could gather, not knowing if a bean conjured through experimental magic would be safe to eat, she put it in her mouth, chewed it, and swallowed. "Hmmm," she said, "well, it sure is a bean… Better get back to the drawing board." Twilight began to concentrate again, trying to think of what variables could alter the outcome of the spell. Feeling the magic gather again, she cast another spell. Her eyes opened to a small cookie before her. She brought it close again, feeling an emanating warmth. "Wow, like it came straight from the oven!" The smell tickled Twilight's nose. She hadn't had lunch today, and a bean wasn't going to satisfy her growing hunger. She figured the best way to test her experiments was, after all, to eat them, she popped it in her mouth. She was surprised to taste the sweetness and warmth that she did-- this cookie was delicious! 'Still,' she thought, 'it's still not all too impressive… Plus, I'm still hungry… Let's continue.' Her experiments continued, one after another, different foods appearing in front of her. As she continued to tinker with the spells, the food started to become bigger and more complex. She started to conjure up more than one kind of food at a time soon, and after the initial awkwardness of sampling spinach and ice cream together, she started to arrange the ingredients into more appealing ways. She began to conjure sandwiches, rudimentary pizzas, and waffles… all manner of foods appeared to her, and she ate each and every one of them, and to her surprise, each and every one delicious. She quickly became full, but with such a rich array of delights she could conjure up, she continued… All in the name of research, of course. And so, the experiments continued. As the hours passed by, Twilight Sparkle endlessly conjured all sorts of food. Even thought she was positively stuffed, she continued to eat. Every new bit of food she ate was even more delicious than the last, and she couldn't resist trying yet another new spell to see what delicious treats she could summon next. Before long she forgot all about research and magic theories, and indulged herself in her magic almost as if she were hypnotized. Spell by spell by spell, she ate and ate and ate… It wasn't until midday the next day that a hiccup seemed to snap Twilight back to her senses. She stared at the last bit of a stacked sandwich in front of her. She stuffed it in her mouth and chewed blissfully, even though she was absolutely stuffed; it was just too good to turn down. She smacked her lips happily, basking in the warm glow of the feast she just had, even if most of it was a blur. How long was she there for? She couldn't recall… Still, she had performed quite an extensive bit of research, and that she could be sure of. She called for Spike to bring a quill and parchment as she stretched her arms… Funnily enough she felt a jiggle. Oblivious, she wondered where that sensation came from. Spike appeared at the top of the stairs. "Woah, Twilight!" Spike cried, obviously in shock. Twilight stared at the dumbfounded little dragon, not sure what he was dumbfounded about. "What are you…" Twilight started, when she looked down. Realization and disbelief struck her like a lightning bolt: she had put on quite a bit of weight. Quite a bit was an understatement, actually. Her belly was huge-- rolls of soft flesh poured out in front of her, resting on the ground between her legs, which had thickened up as well. Her massive rear end jiggled as she turned around, examining the extent of her obesity. Blushing madly, she pressed her hooves into her belly and felt the soft mass squish like a marshmallow. "Wha-what is this?" she cried, grabbing at her fat, unable to bring her hooves together across her stomach, "What-- Did I cast some kind of body mass altering spell in my research last night?" "Well, you were studying food conjuration," Spike replied, face flushed, "I think you just ate too much, Twi." Twilight shook her head, her cheeks jiggling. "No," she said, "there must be some kind of mistake, there must be some kind of reversal spell or something! I gotta search the books again!" She hoisted herself up, not prepared for the massive effort it would require. After a couple failed attempts at rolling herself forward, she rocked from side to side, trying to get a leg under enormous girth. Awkwardly, she positioned her rear hooves under her and bending around managed to get another hoof down. She struggled to push herself up under her now incredible weight. She panted as she steadied herself, feeling her soft body settle. She took a heaving step forward, hooves just reaching the ground past her belly, which easily rested on the ground even as she stood, puffing out to either side. "Is there… any kind of magic that can help you out?" Spike asked. Twilight tried to cast a spell on her hooves to make them lighter, or to help move them, anything, but she only felt a small sputtering spark in her horn, and nothing happened. "Wh-what? My magic… isn't working?" Try as she might, she just wasn't able to do anything. Spike, still blushing, snapped out of his shock and dashed over to Twilight. "L-let me help!" he stammered out, positioning himself behind her gargantuan rear. As she took the next step, Spike gave a great push, feeling her soft posterior cushion him as he gave her a little extra distance. He continued to push as Twilight took a few more labored steps toward the stairs. With each step she took she became more exhausted, gasping and huffing and panting and groaning under her weight. As she put her first hoof on the first stair, she panted. Looking back past her massive belly, and said, "Spike… *huff* Help me… down the stairs…" Spike nodded, and blushed again, "S-sure thing, Twilight…" Twilight managed to take another step down the stairs, Spike heaving her hind legs and easing them onto the each step. They had to take frequent breaks, Twilight and Spike both panting. With each step, Twilight felt her massive belly press up against each step, and had to wiggle a bit to help it settle. Eventually they reached the bottom, Spike easing her last flabby leg onto the solid ground beneath them. It wasn't long until Twilight flopped down, still several steps away from the bookcases she was looking for. Panting, and with beads of sweat forming on her forehead, she said, "It's… just no use, I *wheeze* need a… little snack." Her horn started glowing, and she conjured a cake, big as her head. Spike stared on in disbelief, hoisting himself over Twilight's soft posterior. She couldn't use magic a while ago, but she could still conjure food? "B-but Twilight," he said, "if you stop to eat now, that'll just make things worse!" Twilight, seeming to ignore Spike had said anything at all, took a massive bite of the cake. Spike protested again, but Twilight continued to eat. Spike ran over to the cake and tried to take it by force, but her magic was too strong. The cake slipped out of his grip, and she continued to eat. Spike watched as the cake was consumed bite by bite, feeding Twilight's obese form. "Hah…" Twilight gasped out happily, smacking her lips, "That was good… I could… go for more…" Twilight's horn glowed again, conjuring up a huge cheeseburger, which she immediately took a huge bite out of. "Twilight!" Spike repeated, futilely, "This will just make you fatter!" Twilight scoffed between bites, "Don't… be such a worry wart… Besides, I'm hungry… I need to eat…" Spike grappled with the cheeseburger as Twilight pulled it in for another bite. He soon realized that there was no way he was going to stop Twilight from devouring whatever food she conjured up. He crossed his arms, frustrated as he watched Twilight scarf the rest down and began to summon yet more food to eat. "This isn't right, this whole food conjuration business," Spike said in hushed tones to himself, "there's no way Twilight would stuff her face so much and get so fat if it weren't for some kinda bunk magic… She can't use any spells except for this... Maybe this kind of magic is… I wonder…" Spike turned to the shelves of books behind him. He spent quite a bit of his time organizing the library, so he knew where everything was… All the books he brought up to Twilight last night were on the subjects of conjuration… None on curses… Spike ran his finger across the spines of books settled in the section devoted to black magic, hexes and the like. He grabbed titles he thought might prove useful somehow, frantically flipping through the pages looking for any sign that something about this magic Twilight was involved in wasn't quite what it seemed. It wasn't until about an hour later that Spike, resting among a heaping pile of books, hear a loud hiccup echo through the library. Spike turned to see Twilight consume the last of what seemed to be a huge pizza. She must have been eating nonstop since Spike left to search the books, because she had grown even more since he last saw her. By now her belly was so big that it pushed her legs out in front and back, almost as if she were resting on a bed of her own fat. Her hooves didn't even reach the ground anymore. Twilight Sparkle gave out another loud hiccup and seemed to come to her senses. She shook her head, feeling, her massive belly and butt jiggle with her. Quickly realizing she didn't feel the floor under her hooves, she stretched her legs and tried in vain to take a step. She grunted and moaned as she tried to rock herself back and forth, trying to get some footing, but she ultimately failed. She was just too fat. "Oof! Mmmf… Blast it, I can't move…" she said, finally settling down, heaving and panting from the struggle. "Hey, Twilight!" Spike called, running up to the obese unicorn, "Finally stopped eating?" "Finally?" Twilight asked, puzzled, "How long was I eating for?" "Quite a while, Twi. I tried to stop you, but you just brushed me off." Twilight gave another halfhearted stretch of her hooves trying to get some footing again. "Wow, sorry Spike, I didn't realize…" "I figured," Spike said, patting Twilight's soft fat stomach. "I think this magic might be--" A knock at the door interrupted his thought. Their attention was immediately caught, and Spike glanced at the door. Twilight tried to crane her head, but the door was behind her. Who could possibly... "Ooooh, drat!" She whispered, "I forgot all about Fluttershy's dinner tonight!" "I'll go answer," Spike replied in a hushed voice. "No no no! I can't let her see me like this!" Twilight protested, bouncing slightly as she kicked her flabby legs to the best of her ability. "She may be able to help! Don't worry I'll explain everything," Spike said, patting her rear and heading toward the door. Twilight knew he was right, but still whined as she hung down her head, resigned to the oncoming embarrassment. Spike opened the door to see the timid yellow pony standing at the entrance. "Oh, hello Spike. Is Twilight there? So sorry if I'm interrupting anything, I was just on my way to the shop and I was wondering if there was any kind of tea she would like to have tonight." "Uhhh, sure thing Fluttershy. Twilight is here but is, hmmm, a little…" "Oh! I understand Spike, sorry to interrupt. I'll just pick up a bunch of different kinds and see which one she'd like to have." "No, it's not that! It's… uhhh, a little hard to explain, actually. You see, Twilight was researching something and it didn't quite… hmmm… You might be able to help." "Why, I'd be glad to help in any way I could! I don't know all that much about magic, but if there's anything I could do…" "It's not magic we need your help with per se, but… come on in, I'll try to explain." Spike opened the door further to let Fluttershy in. The pegasus took her delicate steps into the library. "What seems to be the problem?" she asked. "Well," Spike began, "It's kind of a BIG problem…" Fluttershy's gaze rose from the bay dragon, and she saw just what Spike meant. Was that Twilight? She seemed to have gained some serious weight. Her flabby back legs kicked a bit, causing her huge butt and massive belly to jiggle. "Oh, my," Fluttershy said, as she started to blush, walking up to the obese unicorn, "Is that you Twilight? What happened?" Twilight's face was burning with humiliation. "H--hello Fluttershy," she managed to choke out, "I can explain…" "She was researching the magic of food conjuration," Spike interrupted, "I heard her calling earlier today and I came up to find her like this." He gave her belly a reassuring pat. Fluttershy was still a little shocked. "So... you ate too much?" Was all she could manage to ask. Twilight shook her head. "It's not all that simple. After trying out the magic a few times, I seem to have… gone into some kind of trance. First thing I know, I was upstairs summoning these little bits of food, and the next thing I know, I come to my senses absolutely stuffed!" "When I found her earlier, she was actually not as fat as she is now. She could still walk, even if it was really slowly," Spike added. "I helped her downstairs, and then she went into another one of those trances! She ate and ate and ate and I couldn't do anything to stop her." "And now I can't even reach the ground anymore…" Twilight concluded, her puffy cheeks still blushing. "I see," Fluttershy said, taking it all in. She approached Twilight and patted her soft back. "I'm so sorry, Twilight, is there anything I can do to help?" "Thank you, Fluttershy," Twilight said, genuinely appreciative of her friend's empathy, "I was thinking if there's anyone who would know what to do, it would be either Princess Celestia or Zecora. Canterlot is too far away to get there like this, but if you could give me a hoof getting to Zecora's home in Everfree Forest, that would be a huge help." "Of course, Twilight," Fluttershy replied, "I could rent a wagon and me and Spike could help you into it." "Thank you," Twilight repeated, smiling through her still lingering embarrassment. "Could I ask for it to be a covered wagon? I don't want to be seen by everyone like this." Fluttershy nodded, and smiled back. "Sure thing, Twilight." "And while she's getting the wagon, I'll write a letter to the Princess! If we can't get to Canterlot, she might be able to help us at Zecora's!" Spike said, dashing off to get a quill and parchment. Twilight kneaded her massive belly, squishing it between her front hooves, and straddling it with her back. She felt them sink into the soft pillowy fat. She was so confused… How did this happen? She tried again to cast a basic levitation spell on herself, but felt nothing but a spark in her horn. Somehow her magic didn't work, and yet she could summon food? Puzzling over this only made her more confused. She settled into her soft fat belly, deciding to try and relax. Help would be coming and she would figure it all out soon enough. Before long, Twilight heard a belch and saw a green flash. Spike had sent the letter. She could only imagine the embarrassment of having Celestia see her fattened up so much; Zecora too… She pushed the thought out of her head. No need to worry about that, at least not yet. Spike returned shortly after, just as they heard a knock at the door again. Spike ran over to answer it. Twilight heard some light banter with the voice she recognized as Fluttershy's. She heard them approach. "I got the wagon, Twilight," the pegasus said, "now let's get you to Everfree Forest!" Spike and Fluttershy pushed Twilight's flank to spin her around and face the open front door. There she saw the opening of a covered wagon up against the door frame, with a ramp leading to the opening. Twilight squirmed, wishing she could walk there herself, but with another futile stretch from her front hooves, she found herself unable. "Okay," Spike said, as they both readied themselves up against Twilight's massive behind, "3… 2… 1… Push!" Twilight felt them push against her rear, sinking into it's fat, and into the belly it rested on, and she felt herself shift forward towards the door. She felt her legs push out to either side as the fat in her belly and rump compressed. Again and again they pushed and heaved and Twilight inched closer and closer to the door and the wagon waiting just outside. Fluttershy and Spike, panting and sputtering, finally gave one last heave, and Twilight felt her belly meet the ramp. A couple more pushes put her just high enough on the ramp to be able to put her front hooves down. She couldn't do much to pull herself forward, but with each push she tried to pull her own enormous weight as well. Spike and Fluttershy were caught between trying to continue hoisting Twilight's weight up the ramp and trying to keep her from sliding back down. It was a slow and laborious process, but eventually Spike, Fluttershy, and the efforts of Twilight herself, Twilight was finally able to place her front hooves on the floor of the covered wagon. "Thanks *huff* guys," Twilight said, eyes adjusting to the darkness of the wagon. Twilight tried to hoist herself further in, but found herself unable. She felt her belly press against the sides of the opening. She pulled and pulled, but she struggled to make herself budge any further into the opening. "Can I… *pant* get a push?" Spike and Fluttershy, who stood on the ramp, wiped the sweat from their brows, and once again positioned themselves behind Twilight. They gave a massive push, but only felt her budge ever so slightly into the wagon. A couple more huge pushes were met with barely any result. Spike, confused, clambered on top of Twilight's rear, and looked over to see what the hold up was. He saw Twilight's belly plugging up the opening, rolls puffing out like some kind of giant marshmallow. "It looks like you're too fat, Twi," Spike said, "I think you're stuck." Twilight grunted and moaned as she tried to pull herself further in, despite knowing that Spike was right. She futilely kicked her legs, and felt her fat belly trying to squeeze through the opening, to no avail. "Oh, curses," Twilight grunted, eventually wearing herself out with the effort. She collapsed as much as she could with her front half poking through the wagon's opening, and said through heavy breaths, "I guess there's… n-nothing we can do…" Spike made his way around to the other side of the wagon, and went in through the opening in the front. "I guess we could try to pull you in from here," he suggested, finally letting his tired legs sit down in front of the massive unicorn. "Nah," Twilight said, still panting, her eyes seeming to gloss over, "I think… I'll be fine… *huff* after a… little snack." Twilight's horn glowed, and to Spike's shock, an enormous pie appeared in front of her. Twilight didn't hesitate to bury her face in the sweet treat and pig out. Spike dashed out of the other side of the wagon, and ran up to Fluttershy, who was still catching her breath. "We gotta get moving, Fluttershy, Twilight's starting to pig out again!" Fluttershy let out an urgent squeak, and dashed past the wagon, positioning herself under the harness in front. With Spike's help, she hurriedly strapped herself in, and took a shaky, labored step forward. The first couple steps were a bit of a struggle, but as she started to get momentum, she found it much easier than pushing Twilight's fat butt across the floor. Spike positioned himself at the front of the wagon, sitting on the little bench it provided him. He made worried glances back from time to time as he saw caught flash after flash from inside the wagon, knowing that Twilight was still pigging out. He noticed some ponies taking glances at the wagon as they slowly lumbered past, and knew it must be an odd sight, with Twilight's blubbery butt wedged in the opening of the wagon. Twilight continued to eat and eat and eat. The only thoughts that flashed through her head were of the delicious food she was eating, and summoning yet another delectable treat to consume. She kicked her legs a bit as the wagon bounced along the road, belly slowly growing bigger, despite being stuck. She didn't, and indeed couldn't care, as she was still lost deep in the trance. Fluttershy was still barely managing to pull the wagon. They were almost at her house, but she was finding it harder and harder to pull Twilight, as the weight was steadily increasing behind her. She panted and huffed, legs buckling, and chancing a look back at Spike, cried out, "I don't know how much farther I can go!" Spike hopped off the wagon and grabbed a strap he found hanging off the harness and pulled with all his might. Slowly but surely they pulled themselves further down the road… The trouble was that they were getting gradually slower as Twilight got gradually fatter. They finally collapsed next to Fluttershy's cottage. "I… can't… *pant* go any farther, Spike… We could try getting… her into my house…" Spike sat down heavily, and nodded in agreement. "I just… gotta… catch my--" Suddenly they heard a creaking, and finally a loud crack split the air. The opening that Twilight was wedged into had split open, and the wagon toppled back under the steadily increasing weight. Twilight, who had just finished stuffing the last of a pizza into her mouth, slid off the end. Her fat rolls jiggled happily, and her legs wagged back and forth in sheer bliss as she continued to feed herself. Spike and Fluttershy scrambled behind Twilight and once again positioned themselves to heave her girth as far as they could manage. They found themselves struggling much more to push her even half as far, not eased by the fact that she continue to relentlessly stuff herself. Eventually they approached Fluttershy's door, and pushed Twilight's head and front legs through. They didn't make it too far, however, as they found themselves trying in vain to squeeze Twilight's massively obese form through the comparatively narrow door frame. Spike collapsed against Twilight's soft fat in a sweaty, tired heap, and Fluttershy followed soon after, trying to catch their breath as Twilight ate more and more. After a brief silence, Fluttershy stood up shakily, and announced, "I'm going to go find Zecora, she must be able to help!" The pegasus took off, flapping her wings behind her to give her more speed. Spike watched Twilight gleefully kick her legs a bit as she ate more and more. Spike sighed and wiped the sweat from his brow as he wondered if she would ever stop eating, when he heard a hiccup resonate from inside the house. Quickly he jumped up and dashed around the house to peek through a window, where he saw Twilight struggling in vain to heft her blubbery front legs far enough to touch the ground. "Spike? Wh-what happened?" Twilight asked urgently, finding herself to be even fatter than she was last time she came to her senses. "You started to pig out, so we tried to take you to the Everfree Forest as fast as we could, but you got too heavy," Spike began, opening the window and climbing down. "We decided we'd stay at Fluttershy's house, before you split the covered wagon's opening clean off. We tried to push you into the house, but you're too fat to fit." Twilight groaned as she struggled to move, feeling her butt and belly jiggle with every motion. "Wh-where's Fluttershy?" Twilight asked. "She wen't to go get Zecora, Twi, she'll know what to do for sure!" Spike said, patting her front leg reassuringly. "Oof, Spike," Twilight said tiredly, "I… can't move…" Spike patted her arm again, and shifted his gaze to the window overlooking Everfree Forest, "It's okay, we'll figure out what's going on soon enough… Wait, I think I see them now!" Spike watched as he saw two figures emerge from the trees… soon followed by a third, taller and more slender, with a flowing mane. "I'm… so hungry…" Twilight said, horn beginning to glow again. "Oh no, Twilight!" Spike cried, as he saw Twilight drift into the trance again, "Look, I think Celestia's with them!" She didn't respond, and instead began to indulge herself on a huge slice of cake. Spike dashed out of the window again, to meet the approaching figures. "Zecora! Celestia! You gotta help Twilight!" Spike called, as their paths converged. "Already did Fluttershy explain; the cause of Twilight's weight gain," said Zecora, seeing Twilight's massive form stuck in the entrance to the cottage. "She's starting to pig out again, you gotta help!" Spike said, glancing between the three. "Looks like we got here just in time then, Spike," Celestia said, calmly, assessing the situation, "We're lucky I arrived at Zecora's cottage, as you wrote, when Fluttershy found us, because with Zecora's resources, and my magic, we were able to craft this…" Fluttershy held out a pendant with a big red stone hanging in its middle. "It's a magic halting pendant: when it's put on, the wearer will find themselves unable to cast any magic," Celestia explained. They made their way to the cottage in a hurry, and saw through the window that Twilight was still happily stuffing herself. "Take the pendant, Spike" Celestia urged, "put it around Twilight's neck, it won't be long before her neck grows too fat for it to fit. Spike nodded, grabbing the pendant and dashing back to the window. He clambered through, and approached Twilight's feeding frenzy. He pushed his way past the huge portions of food popping up around him, and came up to Twilight's face, which was scarfing down a handful of eclairs all at once. Spike, full of determination, jumped onto Twilight's head. She didn't respond to this, but Spike still struggled to steady himself behind Twilight's horn as her reckless feeding bucked him back and forth. Spike held each end of the pendant in either hand, and watched for an opportunity to slip the jewelry past the food that was constantly streaming into her mouth. He attentively waited for Twilight to take a big gulp, for that would be the chance he was waiting for. Soon, Twilight's mouth was stuffed to the brim. She cocked her head back, and swallowed the massive amount of food into her belly. Spike deftly slid the pendant past her face just as she opened her mouth for another helping. Spike struggled to pull the two ends of the pendant together across Twilight's blubbery neck. He pulled just hard enough so that it wouldn't snap under the tension, and soon he was finally able to attach the two ends together. He watched as Twilight stuffed the last of the food in front of her into her mouth, and swallowed one last time. He felt her horn buzz a little, but felt greatly relieved when nothing appeared in front of her. "Yesss!" He cried, hopping off her head, seeing Twilight face twist into a confused and frustrated expression. Again she tried to summon more delicious food, but nothing happened. She moaned hungrily, but try as she might, nothing would appear. After one more futile attempt, she let out a series of puny hiccups and promptly fell asleep. "…" "…" "Twilight?" It was faint, but she heard it. "Twilight?" Was that… Celestia's voice? Twilight slowly opened her bleary eyes, blinking her vision into focus. She made out Celestia, Zecora, Fluttershy, and Spike sitting around a table in what she recognized as Fluttershy's cottage. "Wh… How long was I asleep?" She asked in a creaky voice. "Asleep for a couple hours," Zecora said, "As you recovered from your magic's powers." "Yes," Celestia began, "The magic you were using was not as innocent as it sounded." "Food… conjuration?" Twilight asked, puzzled. "Yes," Celestia said, approaching her, "I have a book that might help you understand: the only one of its kind, and the only one that even mentions the subject you tried to tackle. I believe you might have read it a long time ago, but it's almost ancient now, and the language is a little… well… obscure." Twilight tried to levitate the book Celestia presented, but found herself unable to cast the spell. "Wha… is my magic…" "Only temporarily," Celestia said, "I'll explain later." Celestia held the dusty tome in front of the obese unicorn as she flipped through its pages to a subchapter of a subchapter near the back. "The Magical Arts as Related to the Practice of the Ill-Reputed Summonation of Magically Enhanced Edible And/Or Culinary Items: How It Might Not Go Down in the Manner You Might Think it Might," Twilight read aloud. "Wow, no wonder you didn't think of that," Spike ruminated. "Spike filled me in on his side of the story, and told me that he checked your section on curses… It turns out he was on the right track." The language didn't get any less obscure in the actual text, and some of it was almost indecipherable. However, Twilight tried to work out as much of the language as she could manage to understand. Her eyes widened in realization. "I get it… This kind of magic works more like a curse than anything!" She said, her eyes darting across the words again and again, "The food summoned through this magic, if enough is actually consumed, causes the one who eats it to gorge on as much of this magic food as they can get, almost as if they were in a trance! That means…" "Yes," Celestia answered, "If a magic user as skilled as yourself managed to work out how to actually perform these spells, they would end up in a loop of summoning more and more food, as you were." Twilight shrank back a bit, feeling her pillowy rolls of fat jiggle as she did. "None of my other magic worked either… It still doesn't seem to… Have I… lost my magic?" Celestia laughed reassuringly, "No, Twilight, you still have your magic. As it says a bit further in the chapter, the food, if consumed by the conjurer, due to its magical properties, would temporarily block the natural flow of magic, except for the magic the food itself came from." "Shouldn't I be able to use magic yet?" Twilight asked. "Technically, yes, however," Celestia said, pointing to the jewelry around the unicorn's neck, "You are wearing a pendant that prevents the use of magic. I'm afraid that'll have to stay on for a while, as the remaining magic of the food conjuration dissipates." Twilight shifted uncomfortably, feeling that her belly was still stuck tight in Fluttershy's door. "I guess you're disappointed in me, right?" "Not at all!" Celestia said with enough authority to lift Twilight's spirits, "As it turns out, this kind of magic had not been practiced for ages, and your research has proven to be incredibly helpful! There's so much to transcribe from this, we'll surely be well documented on the subject from now on! You should be proud, Twilight Sparkle." Twilight blushed heavily from the praise. Suddenly, she gave a bit of a start, and looked back, feeling her fat fold in as she did. "I still managed to turn myself into quite a pig, though… I'm so fat I can't even move..." "Feast you did, without a doubt, but we have ways to help you out," Zecora chimed in. "Yes, Zecora and I can provide some help with that…" Celestia added, "It won't work wonders, but we figure with these herbs and spices we collected, we'll at least have you back on your feet in about a week's time." "A week?!" Twilight cried, kicking her feet in protest, and feeling her whole body jiggle in response. "That's as far as these remedies can go, Twilight," Celestia said, "and you'll still have quite a bit of fat to work off when we're done, but I assure you it'll help tremendously." Twilight moaned, hanging her head. "I guess I have no choice," she said. With that she was instructed by Zecora and Celestia to have each meal with a side of specific herb and spice blends to help her lose some weight. The group chatted for a bit longer, until the zebra and the alicorn bid the group farewell. Celestia rested a hoof on Twilight's blubbery shoulder. "You should be proud, my pudgy pupil, remember to document all you've learned on this subject as soon as you are able. I'm sure your reference will be a great addition to any library in Equestria." Twilight nodded. "Thank you, Princess Celestia." And with a flash, the princess disappeared as she teleported back to the Canterlot. "I'm afraid I must leave too. Best of luck I wish to you," Zecora said, stepping gracefully out of the open window. The group bid her farewell as she trotted off back to the forest. With the cottage now two ponies emptier, Fluttershy approached Twilight, and presented her with a cup of tea. "I suppose our dinner plans are still on?" Fluttershy asked, smiling politely. Twilight smiled back, and sipped the tea with Fluttershy's help. Spike, Fluttershy, and Twilight Sparkle proceeded to have a nice talk over dinner, which for Twilight was a tiny, light little sandwich, and the herb and spice blend that was left for her. The blend tasted terribly bitter, but the sandwich was perfectly mild; a nice end to the heavy feast Twilight had been gorging on. Twilight tried halfheartedly to rock herself forward, feeling her blobby belly squeeze against the doorframe. "I'm sorry, Fluttershy, it looks like I'll have to stay here for a while. So sorry to intrude." "Oh, it's no trouble!" Fluttershy replied, smiling kindly, "I'm honored to have you as a houseguest!" As the dinner wound up, and the moon rose high, Fluttershy said goodnight and went off to bed. Twilight watched as Spike crawled out of the window, and rounded the house to the front door, where her fat belly was still stuck. "What are you up to, Spike?" Twilight said, as she felt him climbing his way up her belly fat. "No offense, Twi," Spike said, curling up on a spot near the unicorn's pillowy rear end, "It's just that you're so soft and fat that you make a great bed." Twilight blushed a bit, and chuckled, feeling the baby dragon nestling into her soft belly fat. "Good night, Spike." "Good night, Twilight."
