"Hypercane. The most legendary of all storms. Has made it onto land. Unfortunately Ponyville is in the path of this storm. As for Manehattan... It is already being battered by a second Hypercane. Right now we are tracking both storms with the help of our meteorologists. Right now we have Rainbow Dash in Ponyville ready to see this phenomenon." The screen then switches to Rainbow Dash who is sitting on a cloud

"Yeah well this storm is extremely dangerous everypony. We advise you to go inside your homes, lock your windows, and seal your doors. The storm is to have very high wind speeds of up to 500 mph and over. Streets will be flooded when it reaches your town. Right now if you look towards to the north you will see the storm! Oh no. It's already here! Go, go get inside now befo-" *static* The screen is then split from the news pony and the static.

"Rainbow Dash? Rainbow Dash!? Um... Sorry folks but we have some minor technical difficulties here... Heh heh... Please don't worry. She's probably fine... I think? ANYWAYS lets check on Manehattan right now." Then the screen switches to Manehattan with Fluttershy standing in the middle of the storm.

"Can you here me? Okay! The storm is very gusty and rain is pouring down everywhere in Manehattan! The tunnels are flooded and so is the subway system! Ponies are running everywhere! But we have professionals that will go in and stop the storm right now! The storm is also very loud which is why I am yelling at the camera!" Then Fluttershy turns around to face the buildings.

"As you can see the buildings are not holding much longer! Some have already collapsed! Oh there goes another one!" The camera then zooms in at a building that is falling towards them. ~CRASH~ *static* Then it goes back to the Weather Center.

"Fluttershy?! Oh no. Everypony lock everything! This storm is coming towards us!" Then the roof collapses onto every single pony in the building. *static*

Although none of this happened in reality. It could still happen in the future of Equestria. Some storms can be good. But some storms can result in the total annihilation of the pony race. All it takes is one little mistake to start the chain reaction. This is. Prehistoric Storms: Hypercane.

It shows the view of every pony in Ponyville right now. Ponies are laughing, having a good time and enjoying their life. Until one summer morning... The sun is in the sky for a longer period of time and is hotter than usual. The temperature is 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Water starts to dry very quickly. Leaving everypony in the middle of a drought. The only water still here was the ocean water. But the water has gone to temperatures that it had never gone to before. Over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Suddenly 2 storms start to form and the outcome is two Hypercanes going in different directions.

*Twilight*

"Hypercanes are what ponies would call a super hurricane. Technically Hypercane is a mix of a tornado and a hurricane. They say that Hypercanes are smaller than hurricanes but it doesn't mean it can't do anything big. A Hypercane can last a month and leave destruction everywhere it goes. Take Hoofington for example. If a Hypercane struck there Hoofington would be wiped off the face of the planet. That's how strong these storms are."

*Celestia*

"I have actually seen this type of storm before in my lifetime. We did lose many friends that day but we kept our spirits up and kept living. If one Hypercane were to appear then we would still be alive. But if there were about 10 Hypercanes at the same time around the world? Not a single pony will survive because that many Hypercanes at the same time would result in the apocalypse. This prehistoric storm is the reason why I must be careful when I raise the sun and set the sun. Because if the sun is in the sky for too long the water heats up which could spawn Hypercanes."

One of the Hypercane starts to move towards Manehattan. The other Hypercane starts to move towards Ponyville. Unfortunately a ship is also in the path of this storm and who else but Rarity and Spike riding it. The Captain of the ship has no idea there is a storm coming since it came very quickly. The water starts to furiously hit the ship with waves of water. Many ponies end up in the water during this. All they can do now is hold on for as long as they can.

"Everypony hang on!" From the tone of the Captain's voice you could tell he was panicking. As the ship rocked back and forth Rarity trips and starts to fall over the railing but Spike grabs her before she fell into the water.

"Rarity! Hold on! Don't let go!" Spike yelled as he grabbed Rarity's hoofs

"I can't hold on! I'm losing your grip!" Then one final wave ended everything as the ship went upside down and finally sank.

No one survived that disaster but this isn't the end. The Hypercanes kept moving toward land. Straight to where many ponies lived.

*Luna*

"Huh... Hypercanes? If I may recall... The full moon being up at the time a Hypercane is in the area would mean complete destruction. Say... Don't those storms have tornadoes in the place where the eye should be?"

"Yes. Now no more questions we're just gathering information for the ponies." Said a voice behind the camera

"Oh right sorry. Well my knowledge about these storms are little but what I do know is that Hypercanes are formed when the water reaches to temperatures that are 100+ degrees Fahrenheit. Also Hypercanes are known to spawn even more tornadoes around it. And since hurricanes are low pressure storms that would mean Hypercanes would be a high pressured storm. So that would result the storm to be extremely high in the air which is about where the atmosphere would be!"

As the Hypercanes start to move closer ponies start to panic and find cover inside their homes. While the news ponies went to record this event. *Beginning scene again*

Weather Center Live

"Fluttershy?! Oh no. Everypony lock everything! This storm is coming towards us!" Then the roof collapses onto every single pony in the building. *static* Then the screen switches to the other 2 static screens. One of the cameras then start to come back on. Rainbow Dash's that is.

"Hello? Weather Center? HELLO?!" Rainbow Dash was desperately trying to contact the Center but no reply was heard.

"Shoot. There's debris falling from the skies, buildings falling to the ground and streets flooded! We're so screwed!" The Camera pony was now beyond panic and was starting to go into a state of shock.

"Get a grip! We still got to report the news as long as we are alive and the camera is still rolling." But when those words didn't help she smacked the pony across the face. The Camera pony then went back to his job.

"Let's hope Fluttershy and my bro is okay back in Manehattan..." The Camera pony was very worried since his closest brother was with Fluttershy who is reporting the other Hypercane.

"Yeah... Okay! Ponies right now we are inside the most sturdy shelter we could find. There are other ponies here as well." Then the camera starts to focus on the group of ponies in the background. The ponies were Vinyl Scratch, Octavia, Lyra, Cherilee, Bon-Bon, Applejack and any other ponies you could name at that time.

"Hey wait a second... Where's Pinkie Pie?" Rainbow looked around the shelter but Pinkie Pie was no where to be found.

*Twilight*

"The Hypercane storm is very dangerous for many ponies can get lost from the immense rain constantly pouring down. I don't think I said this but a Hypercane on rare occasions can spawn other Hypercanes and i mean RARE. Or two Hypercanes could possibly collide with each other."

*Celestia*

"Hypercanes. Is really a Hurricane / Tornado on steroids. Makes huge sense."

*screen is still static until Fluttershy's camera comes back on.*

"Hey the camera is back on!" Then the Camera pony picks up the camera and faces it towards Fluttershy who is not injured in any way.

"This storm is going to be the end of us!" Fluttershy was starting to tremble terribly.

"Come on Fluttershy stop being so scared! At least we escaped from almost being crushed by a building!" Not the smartest of all words b/c Fluttershy had started to cry

"Oops..." The Camera pony felt guilty for making her cry but seriously it's no wonder she would cry. Suddenly all the rain and wind started to subside. Fluttershy looked up to see that the storm had moved on.

"It's... Over?" Fluttershy started to jump for joy when she remembered. The Storm wouldn't stop like this. Unless... They were in the eye of the storm.

"This is not good at all..." Then the storm came back. But for some reason the storm was stronger than usual. Then the two watched as the water reached up to their necks. Finally both of them went under.

*Luna*

"I'm not sure if dinosaurs existed in our past life but if they did then it is definite that Hypercanes happened during that age... Like I said before I'm not really all that knowledgeable."

"PINKIE!" Rainbow looked everywhere as she battled the winds to try to stay in the air. Pinkie was not in Sugarcube Corner. So Rainbow figured Pinkie was at Twilight's.

"Slow down! it's hard to keep up while carrying a heavy camera, flying through fast winds and go on a search at the same time!" The Camera pony then started to lose his grip with the camera. But Rainbow got it before it fell.

"Okay I'll slow down but we still need to find Pinkie. I think she's at Twilight's." The Camera pony agreed and both went to Twilight's place.

(What really happened to Pinkie?) Start from the beginning.

Pretty much a normal day. Making treats for everypony regularly. Definitely a normal day. *Tv turns on by itself* WARNING: A Hypercane storm watch is in effect for the following cities. Ponyville and Manehattan If you are in the path of this storm please seek shelter in a sturdy building. This storm should end in one month.

"Wow. I guess I should close up Sugarcube Corner and get ready for the storm." But by the time Pinkie had started to close up the storm had already hit. All the windows were blown out and the gales of wind knock over everything inside.

"Hey! I worked hard to set those up!" But the storm just kept blowing. Then water started to fill the room until it reached the top. Pinkie desperately made an attempt to go through the broken windows and swim to safety but to no avail. The water overpowered her but Pinkie wasn't going to give up. She started to swim to her room. Only one chance to do this. As soon as Pinkie opened the door she rushed in and closed the door. The room hadn't flooded at all yet.

"I hope someone finds me..." Pinkie then prayed that nothing bad would happen to her as she tried her best to keep the water from coming into the room.

(Rainbow Dash)

"Looks like Pinkie isn't here. Or Twilight..... Oh no! SPIKE AND RARITY!" Rainbow started to panic but the Camera pony was confused.

"Who's Spike and Rarity?" Rainbow then gave the pony a glare but then the Hypercane started to spawn 5 other Tornadoes around it.

"WHOA!" Both ponies started to get sucked up into the tornado that had spawned closest to them but with no luck. Both ponies are sucked into the tornado and are sent flying into the air. Rainbow tried to avoid falling to the ground as she frantically tried to open her wings but the debris from the tornado had broken them. So Rainbow Dash just fell to the hard ground cracking every bone in her body. The Camera pony on the other hand landed in a tree but did not survive. A branch went straight through his body causing instantaneous death.

*After the storm had subsided*

The destruction of Ponyville and Manehattan is shocking. Both cities have been devastated by the 2 storms. But even more shocking is what has happened during the storm. After ponies go outside of their shelters they stare in horror as they see many friends and close ones that have perished in the storm. Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, 2 camera ponies, and many others have been killed. Pinkie Pie and others are still missing.

(Celestia)
"Today. We stand by those that we cared about. We have all lost loved ones and friends. But we will recover. These two storms taught us today that whatever life throws at us we can still hold on. Life, is like a dream. and no pony is really safe in the world. But no matter what the problem. We. Will. Keep living."

But really? All of this would've been avoided. If only one thing was different. The sun. If the sun hadn't been in the sky longer than usual then everyone would've still be alive. (Real life lesson? Make sure global warming doesn't screw us all.)

This story is clearly fictional not a single pony was hurt in reality. This fic is only here to show how our ponies would handle this situation. And to show that it's not easy to go up against a storm in actual real life. *credits roll in*

"Alright. Applejack, Pinkie, Fluttershy and Spike are you sure you want to stay here?" Rainbow needed to make sure

"Yes! Go have fun with Twilight and Rarity!" Pinkie already had lots to do so she had to stay home.

"You 3 just relax on your alone time." Spike calmly said then he started to go back inside the library when Rainbow stopped him.

"Are you SURE you don't want to come? I mean Rarity is going to be there." But Spike said no so Rainbow just went up with Twilight and Rarity to go to the beach.

*After the trio had arrived at the beach*

"Ahh! The smell of ocean water! And the feeling of soft sand under our hoofs!" Twilight took another deep breath and then ran down to the water.

"Even though my hoofs get dirty from the sand I can still wash them off in the water! As long as I don't mess up my mane of course." Rarity then got out her mat and umbrella and started to place them.

"I don't know... It just doesn't feel right to be at the beach." Rainbow then went further out to water not knowing of the dangerous disaster ahead of them.

*Back in Ponyville*

"SPIKE! Come here quick!" Applejack sounded serious so Spike rushed over.

"WHAT?!" Spike then saw Pinkie who was shaking all over. Pinkie sense. But it wasn't like her doozy... it was like she was telling us what was going to happen...

"She's just shaking all over..." Fluttershy couldn't really tell what she was trying to tell them though.

"...Earthquake?" Spike just made a random guess but when Pinkie said yes he was surprised

"Yes! I got it right on the first try! - Wait a sec. EARTHQUAKE?!" Spike and the others were shocked beyond belief.

"An Earthquake bigger than anything else!" Pinkie really couldn't explain it much but that was enough to get everyone into panic. (earthquake past 10.0) Then. They felt the ground shake violently and finally the ground split into 2.

"Whoa!!! Don't fall into the crack!" Although despite Spike's warning about 5 ponies have already fallen in.

"Earthquakes don't happen like this!" Applejack was so shocked from this though that she did not know she had just attempted to jump over to the other side of the crack. Luckily she made it. Fluttershy just simply flew over.

"What was that?!" Fluttershy really wanted to know for that earthquake was something she had never felt before.

"T-t-t-twilight had a book about this... It's in the library! C'mon lets get over to the library!" So all 4 rushed over to Twilight's to find the book.

*Meanwhile at the beach*

(before earthquake)

"I don't know... It just doesn't feel right to be at the beach." Rainbow then went further out to water.

Then out of nowhere there was an earthquake with unbelievable strength (Rainbow didn't feel it because she was in the air) It was so powerful that everything had fallen over on the beach while the buildings behind the beach just swayed back and forth. Rainbow turned around to see what just happened and saw everything had fallen over.

"Oh sure like nothing can get worse than stuff falling over." But as if just on cue a huge crack had appeared straight down the beach. Unfortunately a building with multiple ponies inside were swallowed by the crack. That was the only severe thing that happened at the time.

"Yeah, Yeah ponies die everyday." Rainbow then turned around back towards the ocean when she spotted a wall of water rushing towards the coastline. It didn't take long for Rainbow to realize it was a tsunami. Although for Twilight and others the water looked fine. They didn't see any tsunami at all.

*Back in Ponyville*

"...Here it is!" Spike then took the book and turned to the chapter which was labeled "Past Disasters of Equestria."

"Ok umm... says here that there was a huge earthquake near the same beach that Twilight and the others are at. That place got hit hard too. Records say... a Tsunami had hit the region and annihilated some of the pony race. Hey! It says Celestia and Luna was caught in the disaster as well!" Then everypony crowded onto Spike to see. Indeed it said in the book 'Celestia and Luna was caught up in the disaster...'

*Twilight*

"You know... Earthquakes are not what I would call fun. I mean for one they're really annoying, two they cause a lot of damage, and three they create tsunamis. Now Tsunamis are what you would call the world's super waves. Except they're not like the normal waves. For one a tsunami is a wall of water, two they are almost completely flat, and three they can wipe out ponies caught up in the disaster. Mega Earthquakes and Mega Tsunami."

*Celestia*

"There was a time I was caught up in a tsunami... Sorry I just don't want to talk about it at all."

*Luna*

"Sorry Celestia made me promise not to talk about the time we were impacted by a tsunami but she's sleeping right now so I guess I can tell you."

*Reenactment*

"Luna! Come join me in the water!" Celestia was actually not that far out she was still partially on the beach.

"But mom said I can't! You dropped me into the water last time!" Luna didn't want to go through that again.

"That was an accident! Besides mom is in the hotel! She won't notice!" Luna then turned around. Celestia was right. Mom was in the hotel probably watching TV or something but she didn't want to disobey. Besides. Dad was with Luna.

"I'm going to stay here on the beach until mom says I can go in the water!" Celestia had a frown on her face.

"Dad! Can Luna join me in the water?" Celestia knew their Dad would say yes to anything.

"Sure. And stop shouting. You two are right next to each other." They both giggled and went into the water enjoying every moment.

*Mom*

Mom was watching the local news learning more about what will happen later on when everything started to shake violently.

(tv) "Woah! Woah! EARTHQUAKE!!!!!" *static*

"What in the world?!" Then the next thing everypony knew the earthquake stopped.

(tv) "Can you hear me?! Ok! This massive earthquake is one of the most hardest ones to hit us yet! We are receiving..." But then the mother heard a loud BEHHH from the tv. She looked at the line at the top of the screen. It said: Warning! A Tsunami is coming towards the local beaches. Please stay calm and GET THE HECK OUT OF THERE!

"Oh no! Celestia and Luna!" Then the mother rushed out of the room and started running towards the beach.

*Beach*

"Ayiee!!!!!" Celestia and Luna watched as a couple of ponies fell into the huge crack made by the earthquake.

"Dad what's going on?" Both fillies turned around to look at their dad who was shocked beyond belief.

"Dad?" Then the father grabbed both fillies and ran towards higher ground. He ran into mom shortly after.

"We need to get them away from the beach and higher ground!" The dad then put Luna on the mother's back.

"I know! I know! But how can we when the land here is all flat?!" Then the dad got an idea

"Take the kids and go up to the clouds." Mom agreed and all three went to the clouds while dad was stuck on the ground.

"Well I'm done for..." Then at that moment a HUGE wall of water came in and wiped out every single pony in the path.

*clouds*

"Mom when will dad come?" Luna asked.

"..."

*Luna*

"It was at that point when I realized that dad had died in the disaster... Then 10 years later mom died from illness. Never in my life do I want to lose someone I care about again."

"...Oh no do you think Rainbow, Twilight and Rarity are in trouble?!" Fluttershy was in terrible shock.

"Yes... We need to save them fast!" Then all 4 went to save their friends at the beach.

*an hour has passed*

Rainbow stared at the Tsunami which hadn't reached the beach yet. This hadn't surprised her since the epicenter was 2 hours away from the beach. Although the Tsunami was 250 miles away. It was coming fast but there was just enough time to evacuate everypony. Then Rainbow went to the beach to start the evac.

"Please can I have your attention! A tsunami is headed straight towards us and we need to evac you fast! Please get out of here as fast as you can!" Some ponies were wise and listened to what Rainbow told them but most ponies were stubborn and decided to stay. Twilight and Rarity on the other hand believed.

"We'll help you get the others to believe! You get any ponies out of harms way alright?" Rainbow nodded and went off to help the other ponies. Then Rainbow saw Spike, Fluttershy, Applejack, and Pinkie Pie running towards the beach.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!?" Rainbow didn't want anymore of her friends to get hurt so she stopped them in their tracks. Although they were out of breath so they stopped before Rainbow even saw them.

"You... Got to... Get out... Of HERE!" Spike then passed out onto the sand. So did Applejack, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy.

"Oh no!" Rainbow grabbed all four of them and tried as hard as she could to get her friends to safety. Twilight and Rarity ran up to Rainbow later and helped her to get all 4 of them to higher land. Spike, Applejack, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy had regained conscience. The stared to see a massive wave as tall as the buildings come towards them. They tried their best to reach higher ground. But they were too slow...

"Run! Don't stop moving! Ahh!!" Everypony that was in the Tsunami's path were wiped out. Buildings collapsed to the ground. And series of massive Tsunamis destroyed the beach.

*The Aftermath*

Celestia and Luna have gone to see the damage caused by the Tsunami. No pony was found at first. But miraculously they found Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Spike, Twilight, Rarity, Applejack and Pinkie Pie in the debris. Spike wasn't really hurt in any way. Although the others were badly injured but hanging onto their lives. They were immediately sent to the hospital.

*5 years later...*

Every single pony that had survived the tsunami that day are now enjoying their lives in Ponyville. Although this incident will forever be stuck inside of them the only thing to remember that they were still alive.

(Life lesson) People. Listen to the life guards about trouble in the water alright? DON'T GO DOWN NEAR THE WATER WHEN A TSUNAMI IS RUSHING TOWARDS YOU! Go straight to higher ground. *houses can mean life of death*

This fic is entirely fictional. Not a single pony was hurt in real life. Although this can still happen in our lives. We just don't know when.
