From the moment of conception; they both carry a unique, and profoundly hazardous ripple throughout the very fabric of reality~but~if two sounds can resonate to just the right tune, the crisis that is disharmony, distrust, decay, and ultimately, chaos can be averted. This is a message, and quite possibly a warning to future generations who are observing this momentous calamity befall them as well. If you are reading this; then everything written here will provide great assistance in your troubles; but, if we are not successful, then you probably won’t be reading this. I must conclude this letter, as time is running short for us all, so to future Equestrian, may you be as successful -as we hope to be- and live long in Princesses’ light. Twilight Sparkle, Princess Interim “Spike, take this letter, and leave it in Celestias’ vault for safekeeping.” “At once, ‘Princess’,” Spike chuckled. “Now is not the time for jokes.”Twilight grumbled. “I’m sorry,”Spike faltered. "I just can’t get over the new title. I mean, how can anyone. You are the first princess to take the throne in over a thousand years.” “I did not ‘take the throne’ I am keeping it safe while they find a way out of this mess.” The ground shook ominously at her last comment. “And I hope they find one soon, for all our sakes.” Whilst Twilight pondered this existential conundrum, Fluttershy was sprinting through the Everfree Forest, frantically in search of her lost love…………..but this dear readers is only the prologue; so you must tune in next time , if you wish to see what becomes of this, an epic of ages. TO BE CONTINUED Authoritative Notes: Good evening, ponyfolk from all over the Internetz, I am your proud host this fine day/night. This note is just a reminder to those that aren't aware that this is my first piece of fanfiction ever written. In fact, the only other type of work that I have personally is a chapter (possibly 2 if Celestia is willing) for the user TunerSyphon *sorry for the mispell here* and his story the other side of vinyl, which I highly recommend if you are reading this. Other than that please enjoy the next chapter, which will be out be tomorrow at the latest. Until then, goodnight and may the Sisters' light shine upon you forever, ponies all. > Sound Checks > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sound Checks Welcome back, my faithful readers; and welcome to the beginning of our tale. We begin on a lofty hill perched just beyond Ponyville. Upon closer inspection, the disparaging young mare sits, alone, contemplating the next step of her listless existence. Now, let’s listen to her explain why she has chosen this, of all times, to pick a path. ‘Old Prick,’ Vinyl thought acidulously. ‘My music is not an environmental hazard, and I most certain am not uncouth.’ Vinyl wasn’t usually a mare of ill will, but recently her outstanding jerk of a guardian dropped an ultimatum after she was fined, yet again, by the royal guards for overwhelming noise complaints. She was told, verbatim, that if she did not ‘get off of her lazy flank and find real work by the end of the week, she was out.’ “Last I checked,” she thought aloud, “sleeping till 3 in the afternoon and drinking overt amounts was not considered a job title.”She harrumphed loudly in frustration. “At least I have this hill to myself.” Maybe I'll build a home here one day. It would definitely be a change for the better, even if it was a lonely home rather than a broken one. Vinyl glumly scanned the sky for any sign that this should be the direction to take. All that caught her eyes were Celestia's setting sun and a trailing rainbow over the Everfree. I guess not, she sighed in defeat... "Wait," Vinyl noticed, " What the hay IS THAT." Just above the treeline, a small orange blur was listing heavily in her direction. As the blur approached, she could faintly make out a flash of purple in the blur. Before Vinyl could react to this sudden intrusion of scenery, everything went black. --- Vinyl cracked her eyes and blurrily focused in her new dark environment. It took her a few moments to realize that she wasn't wearing her shades, in fact, she couldn't find them any where near her. As her eyes adjusted, she noticed that she was now at the bottom of the hill, for no forseeable reason. Vinyl picked her hooves up, and slowly pulled herself to the peak in search of her treasures. As Vinyl crested the hill, her eyes came upon a peculiar sight. Laying spread eagle across Vinyl's now smashed glasses, was a large orange mare with beautiful, and illustrious orange wings and a dark maroon mane and tail. What drew Vinyls' eyes to her the most was what wasn't there. This sleek athletic young mare was missing her cutie mark, or rather it was there, and now it was gone. She couldn't remember just who this wonderful young mare reminded her of. Vinyl was brought out of her stupor when she heard the unknown mares ragged breath escaping her breath. Vinyl panicked and quickly scooped up the injured mare onto her back, forsking her glasses, for now, in order to search for help. She galloped as fast as she could muster towards the nearest sign of a home. When she finally came upon one, she slammed both hooves onto the doorframe in a rapid succesion, pleading the inhabitants to come out. "I don't know if you're home or if you can hear me," Vinyl pleaded, "but I really need someponies help right now." Vinyl was on the verge of tears before the door shakily was opened. "Um..hello...how can I help," the mysterious figure squeaked. "This mare," Vinyl pointed, exsasperated, "she really needs medical care. Can you go get somepony to-" The yellow mare stepped out of the doorway and ushered the two into the home. The house was a spacious two story abode, filled nearly to the the brim with curious animals, eager to see the new guests. Before Vinyl could even react to this new situation, a small white rabbit dashed in front of Vinyl and coaxed her to the couch so that the mare could be settled. "Oh dear," the pink maned mare came up beside Vinyl and gently placed a hoof on the orange mares head. "Angel, she burning up. Please go get a wet rag and a blanket." Angel obeyed quickly and returned with the items, and the creamed colored mare placed them gingerly on her. "There, that shoiuld help for now, but I'm going to need a doctor to find out what's wrong." I'll take care of it. I'm Vinyl by the way." "Oh, I'm Fluttershy." "Fluttershy, thank you for your help." And with that she rushed out the door towards town. To BE CONTINUED > Opening Notes > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Opening Notes *(As per Tuners advise in previous comments, I am nixing the narrator role. It was really just a way to have an introduction to the story and, while it was amusing to me to have, it still doesn't have the right feel. Keep in mind that I am going to re edit the stories once I am finished at least with chapter 10, so yeah keep that in mind.) ~~~ Vinyl had not been the quickest on her hooves, and when the opportunity arose, she'd ride a carriage rather than wear down her precious DJing hooves on the cobblestone back in Canterlot. Vinyl took a second to catch her breath as she entered into Ponyville, and took that moment to look at her hooves. Her forehooves were bruised and scratched from the rugged path and from the earlier tumble down the hill. 'Oh well that's just perfect' she thought glumly. A glint across her eyes caught her attention as she kept scanning herself. She crooked her head over to her tail and noticed a piece of her glasses was buried in it. She gently picked it out with her magic and rested it in front of her. The deep violet glint of the glasses reflected off of the streetlamps. Vinyl took a few deep breaths and concentrated on her task at hand; if only to avoid collapsing into sobbing fits. She shook her eyes free of her loose tears and trotted farther into town, doubling her efforts to find a doctor. Just a few homes away from the Carousel Boutique, Doctor Whooves was finishing his latest medical thesis statement on how muffins can help prevent tooth decay, per request from Pinkie. He knew that the research was entirely biased, plus he wasn't a dentist, but he did the study anyway, and was actually surprised at the findings. He had also gained some unlikely assistance few some lovely ponies, inlcuding his new employee, Derpy Hooves. "Ms.Hooves, could you please take this file upstairs for me." "Sure thing," Derpy chipperly replied. 'It's quiet an honor to have her here,' Whooves thought. 'Plus, I always get my mail when she comes in in the evening which saves me the hassle of going down to the post office.' Derpy was just bouncing down the stairs, when the window next to her crashed open. When the dust settled and Whooves refocused his attention, he now saw standing on top of Derpy was... another Derpy? 'What the hay is this!?' Whooves thought incrediously. 'Am I going insane now?' "Um...Ms.Hooves, who is your friend there?" The two mares looked up at the doctor at once and after some scrambled shuffling, Derpy was the first to speak. "Oh, my bad. This is my twin sister, Ditzy Doo. She works with the Weather Patrol, so I'm not surprised you haven't met her." Oh dear Celestia, I AM insane. The Doctor wobbled slightly in an attempt to prevent himself from fainting. "Hey sis," Ditzy turned to her sister and smiled goofily, "I needed to stop by and tell you the you didn't have work tomorrow." "Well, duh Ditzy, It's Saturday; so of course I wouldn't have work tomorrow." Derpys eyes shifted quickly over to Whooves, then back to Ditzy. "Then why has your boss made me remind you these past couple weeks,"Ditzy responded. "B-Because," Derpy quickly replied, "I was kinda distracted." Her head shifted slightly at this, scanning over the Doctor. 'Its not really that much of a lie, is it' She blushed at the thought. "Anyway, it was your turn to watch Dinky, so you need to head home befo-" The room was invaded with a thunderous crash as Vinyl rushed in, out of breath. "The sign outside said...the S-sign...I-i-iii need a doctor RIGHT NOW," she finally wheezed. "Please, catch your breath, miss," doctor Whooves strode over to the gasping mare and looked her over, "I'm sure all you need is some first aid for those wounds, so if you just come this way-" "NO," Vinyl shouted, nearly knocking Whooves over in one deft movement, "I need you to follow me NOW." "For what" "No time, just grab whatever doctor stuff you need, and follow me." "Derpy, if you would," Whooves curtly asked. "Of Course," she replied as she flew up the flight of stairs. " Is there any thing you need me to do?" Ditzy walked up to Vinyl as she was turning out the door. "Um, yes you can," Vinyl said, "do you know where Fluttershy lives?" "Yes, of course I do." "Can you fly to her cottage and tell her I found a doctor." "Yes, at once." And with that, she was off. "Whew, Thank goodness," Vinyl slumpled against the wall and passed out. "Oh horseapples," the Doctor cursed as he caught her mid-fall. Ditzy skirted the sky in a bee-line for the cottage when she was intercepted by a blue blur. She was lucky her good eye had caught her at the last second, or they would've collided in a spectacular crash. "Oh ponyfeathers," Ditzy swore as she spun around. "Are you OK Rainbow Dash?" Woah, Deja Vu. Dash wash buried up to her wings in a Nimbus cloud. Nmphhehh... "What was that" ...Mrphhhmm. "I said I'm alright," Dash replied, as she pulled herslf out of the cloud cover. " What are you in a rush for?" Ditzy asked. "I could ask you the same thing," Dash replied. "Actually, I was headed to Fluttershy's house to tell her that Doctor Whooves was headed on over." "Oh, well you're in luck," Dash smugly exclaimed, "I was headed that way myself to get some food for tank. If you'd like I can go ahead and tell her myself." "Thanks Dash." Ditzy turned and floated down towards Ponyville as Dash returned on her journey. Fluttershy had just settled down in her chair to observe the sleeping mare when she heard a knock at the door. "Hi Shy," Dash said quietly. "Oh, hi Rainbow, Please do come inside." TO BE CONTINUED Authoritative notes: Please don't rage about the Derpy/Ditzy sisters idea. It took alot of searching in my mind to figure out if this was right or not. On another note, if anyone would like to make a derpy and ditzy scene for this, that would be greatly appreciated. Also, I realize the the chapters are kinda short, but they will keep getting longer as the chapters build, hopfully to building like a musical piece. Thank you for reading. Tsubaki out. > Wavering Tones > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wavering Tones Fluttershy had not been expecting this. Standing in front of her was a VERY happy Raindow Dash, seeming quite interested in what lied on her couch. "Hey Shy, who's that?" Fluttershy darted in front of Rainbow's vision. She wasn't quite sure on just why she needed to prevent Dash from pursuing her curiosity, but she had a very sinking feeling that it wouldn't be good for either. "Oh, hi dashthatsnoponydoyouneedsomething...from me?" Fluttershy had her eyes shut from the lack of air due to her panic. She opened her eyes to find a cloud of dust that had begun to settle on her doorstep. She went went wide eyed as she heard a rustle behind. Rainbow had taken it upon herslf to find an answer, as she lifted the blanket from the head of the shivering mare. Fluttershy was on top of Rainbow before she could complete her task. Rainbows vision was blured, but she could still make out a small patch of orange through the blanket before everything faded to black. "OhdearohmyohmygoodnessohdearangelwhatdoIdo...ah." With that, the two mares collapsed across from each other in a headache inducing sleep. Just above them, the feverish mare was beginning to wake from her horrendous nightmare. She took a groggy look at her surroundings, only to see a flash of rainbow originating from the mare she was longingly searching for. 'So, it did work.' The mare began to tear up in joy. Vinyl was just reaching the cottage when she noticed that a cyan mare enter the building. Unaware of why she was there, Vinyl stopped short and turned to the Doctor. "Does you know who that was?" Vinyl asked quizzically. "That mare is quite famous around here, and if memory serves her name is Rainbow Dash." "Does she normally barge into people's home." "You'll find that around here, the Pegasi have a knack for being curious." Just as the Doctor said that, Derpy was peaking her head in a window near the entrance of the house. She could just pick out the figures of two mares on top of each other through the curtains. 'Nice job, Rainbow Dash...' Derpy thought slyly. It wasn't until she saw the two collapse on the floor then she realized that something was wrong. "Doctor, you need to come here, Fluttershy and Dash are hurt." Vinyl paniced and rushed into the cottage. It was then that a pair of red eyes met a pair of watering violet eyes. The fevered mare had awoken to an odd sight to say the least. Vinyl how did you get here, I thought you-" The mare began but her head screamed in pain as she tried to remember. "Please lie back down, miss," Whooves said calmly; ushering the mare back into a lying position. "Try to relax, and let me see what's wrong." The mare relaxed and closed her eyes and let sleep take her again. "Vinyl, would you please wake those two," the Doctor motioned towards the unconcious mares next to him. Vinyl did as she was asked and shook them gently. After she had awoken Fluttershy, she took to Rainbow Dash next. She looked over the cyan mare reserved interest. She looked like she had been made to fly, as opposed to fluttershy; with her petit curved flank and long luscious hair, coupled with her beutiful eyes- 'waitaminute, what the hell am I thinking, I barely know her' Vinyl shook off the last of her blush and bent down to shake Dash awake. Rainbow Dash normally wasn't the remembering type. Sure, she was loyal to a fault; but that didn't mean that she had to also be a memory bank. Maybe this is why the image in front of her was really messing with her. Standing before a stunned Dash was all of the Wonderbolts giving congratulations to her. but this wasn't an acceptance letter or anything; at least, it didn't sound like one. "You sure are one lucky filly," Spitfire said joyfully. "It's not everyday you get to get married, am I right?" Soarin was next to Spitfire, eyeing the wedding cake behind Dash. Dash sat wide eyed at these shocking words. 'I couldn't have been out that long!... What did Fluttershy do?" Dash was paniced at this point "She didn't do anything" A voice from behind Dash made her turn. Standing to her left was a brilliantly dressed mare. Dash found her glowing beauty inescapable to say the least. "Who are you?" Dash asked, awed. "You wife silly." The mare pulled the veil back to reveal her face, but all dash could see was a white light around her. "I-I can't see you." The mare tooka step foward and placed a kiss upon dash's cheek. "Can you at least tell me who you are?" "Oh, well that's easy, it's Sc-" Dash flashed awake to the sound of sobbing. 'Now what,' the mare thought glumly. She looked around the room at all the new faces, but could not find the source of the noise. It was then that she realized the wetness theat she felt on her hooves. She was the one crying, but she couldn't place why. She was sure that something had happened, and that it had just escaped her recollection. She shook off the tears and began to pick herself up from off of the floor. With a cautious glance, she surveyed the new faces. It wasn't until she spotted Fluttershy that she begin to move. "YO, Fluttershy I don't mean to be mean, but, WHAT THE HAY!? It's not everyday I get bowled over by my best friend." "Oh,um, I-I'm sorry," Fluttershy began to curl back at the tirade. "I just didn't expect that-well I didn't know what to expect, to be honest." Rainbow roled her eyes at the comment. 'That mare is more airheaded than a pinkie balloon.' "Now ladies, I'm sure this can be solved at a different time, but I have an urgent need to be attended to at the moment,"Doctor Whooves said curtly "And what is that," Vinyl asked. 'Who is she,' rainbow thought quickly. "This young mare," Whooves continued, "This mare is suffering from low altitude sickness, and the only cure for this ailment is some bedrest in a location above 1,000 meters. Now, Rainbow Dash, if I recall your home is around that altitude, yes?" "I see what your getting at, and I only have one question; who IS she?" "That is a good question," the Doctor replied, "but I'm afraid none of us have the answer for that as of now." It was then that the mare reawoke, almost as if the godesses themselves willed it to happen. 'This all seems so strange...' Vinyl thought ominously as they all gathered towards the couch. To Be CONTINUED > Rising Falsetto > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rising Falsetto Rainbow didn't make it a habit to carry passengers on flights. This made the current scene a little interesting to the waking citizens of Ponyville. To those who didn't know why this was occurring, the only conclusion that could be made is that Dash had found the most misshapen orange in all of Equestria, and was taking home, but Dash knew otherwise. She knew all to well that she had found a new rival; though, she couldn't really find any solid reasoning in this, other than the knot in her throat each time the mares mane . Dash had found purchase on her cloud home just as Celestia's sun had crested over the lower terraces of the home. She cautiously opened the door to home, so as not to awaken Tank. Tank had been quite tired as of late due to Rainbows' sporadic work hours, and even though he didn't have to stay up to greet her when she came home, he felt happy to see her tired smile as she entered the door. Rainbow crept slowly across the threshold to avoid waking the tortoise, but as soon as she had reach the stairs, she heard a quiet gurgling noise from behind her. She turned her head slowly to find a patient Tank smiling slowly at the mare. Dash returned the smile while mentally kicking herself. 'Stupid Dash; he can hear vibrations. Why didn't I just fly up to my room.' While Dash was reflecting, Tank took this time to study the mysterious pony-shaped lump on his owners back. He didn't have much experience with any other ponies besides Fluttershy and Rainbow, but he could feel the warmth resonating off of the mare. Rainbow had zoned out, but was brought back to reality when Tank slowly turned away to find his bed. Rainbow shook her head free of any more idle thoughts and quickly climbed the stairs to her room ~~~ Vinyl headed back to her home when Derpy had caught up to her along the road to Canterlot. "Vinyl, I have some mail for you." "How did you know it was for me," Vinyl asked, realizing that there was no address written on it. "Well, your papa gave it to me when I was giving him the mail." "Well then," Vinyl surmised, "we'll just open this here and..." Vinyl, By the time that you have gotten this message, the movers will have taken the last of your things out of my home. I need to send you this as an eviction notice, starting today. I now that you mean well, what with you music and all, but this has been rediculous. I had figured that you would have learned your lesson after the last noise complaint, but after having you not come home last night and breaking the rules all over again, I decided that enough was enough. You are not aloud to speak to me or come home until you learn how to fend for yourself. But please don't take this as a message that I no longer love you; it's just that you need some tough love is all. Just know that no matter what, you will always be my daughters and will always have a place in my heart. Dad (PS The box number is 6490, for when you get a place of your own.) "Wow, that's a real pain in the flank," Vinyl cursed loudly. Derpy curled her ears in fear that she was being reprimanded. "Oh no no, Derpy It's alright, I just wasn't expecting to be hurting and homeless in the same day." "That's to bad Vinyl. Is there anything I can do to help?" Vinyl was unaware of Derpy's gesture, due to her sudden bout of inspiration, or madness; if you wanted to get technical. "Derpy," Vinyl started, " can you send a letter to my father giving him my new address to my new home." "Uhm, sure Vinyl; but where is that," Derpy responded. "You know fluttershy's address, right? Well, she's about to get a new roommate." "Oh ok," Derpy took out a slip of paper and wrote the address. While Vinyl watched her leave towards Canterlot, she planned out the details while traveling back to Ponyville. ~~~ High above Ponyville, Dash was finally settling down after putting the new company that was perched on her back onto her Cumulubed to rest. Rainbow looked her over for what seemed like the fifteen-hundredth time; but still couldn't shake this unnerving knot in her throat. Something about this mare didn't sit right with her, and she damn well didn't like not know things about her. She studied the mares every facet, from her brilliant mane to her long illustrious wing that almost rivaled hers. Every time her eyes reached her flank, Rainbow's eyes would freeze the broad emptiness of the spot was not only abnormal, but brought out this strange feeling in Rainbow. Before she had time to collect her thoughts, Dash was inches from the mare's flank. Dash's breathing quickened at this, but she was compelled to pursue this. Finally after a few tense moments, Rainbow's mouth made contact with the blank surface. This feeling was strange, for sure; but thie emotion that she felt behind it was wonderful. It was as if in that one moment, everything made sense and she could finally let go of any anxiety. This moment didn't last however, because mere moments after gingerly kissing the soft orange mare out of what might be just pure curiosity, did she wake from her dreams and was now blushing furiously at the scene before her. "Uhm... hello?" Dash whispered nervously, as if her knotted throat had finally crushed her vocal chords. "H-hi Dash, h-h-how are you?" the mare whispered back. "I'm doing well...Uhm, how's,um, your fever?" Dash responded. "I think I'm feeling better...," the mare looked at Dash for a few moments, "Can I ask you a favor, Dash?" "Sure, shoot," Dash said. "Can you please let go of me?" The blush was now appearing on Dash's face in full force as she realized that her hooves were, in fact, clutched around the young mare's hips in a death grip. Dash's arms quickly flailed out of their respective places and fell to her sides. The next few moments were so thick with tension that Pinnkie could have used it for a batch of Fearcakes for Nightmare Night. The mare suddenly piped up, "My name is Sc--Lola, by the way." "Oh hi ,Lola," Dash responded quickly. Suddenly, as if by shear force of habit, she asked, "Wait, how did you know MY name?" "Oh, that's easy; You're my wife, silly," Lola responded without a second thought, as if she was explaining the weather. Dash didn't take this as lightly, though. "M-m-m-m-mmmmy WHAT!?!?!?!?," Dash screamed all at once. As if this took all air out of her, Dash smiled goofily; then proceeded to faint. Lola stared at the mass of feathers and confusion with a shocked look and a dash of regret at the admission. "Ponyfeathers," was all that could be heard from the hom efor the rest of the night. Far in the Whitetail woods, Vinyl looked up at the sky for the source of the sream, but after a few moments of scanning the sky, she dismissed it and proceeded on her way towrds Fluttershy's cottage; her final plans set in stone,as it were. TO BE CONTINUED > Unsettling Vibrations > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsettling Vibrations Fluttershy was exhausted. She honestly couldn't even think of a better word to describe how she felt if her life depended on it. She was just plum exhausted. She knew the WHY of her tiredness, just not the 'why'. 'Urgh, that's too confusing,' She thought desperately. Maybe it wasn't the why, more of the 'because' of the whole conundrum. Fluttershy quickly surveyed the room she was currently in. It was definitely not like anything could picture readily. All about the room was a mess of records and wires. Angel Bunny's house had become a temporary record holder. The bird houses that surrounded the room had been taken down and moved and moved into her bedroom for safekeeping. Her couch had become a mound of saddles, assorted socks, and random accessories. If a passerby were to inspect the house, they would have thought Equestria's largest Pack-rat would have invaded someponies' home; and they would have been pretty close to the mark. The only thing that they would have missed was that the new resident was a Pack-rat wrapped in a pony shell. Fluttershy took a few moments to grab some of the disheveled pictures up from the floor, and placed them on top of the mantelshelf. Just as she was placing the last portrait up, somepony walked up behind her and gently placed a hoof on her wing. This was to be the first record of a mare stuck to a roof of a room like a cat. Vinyl looked up at the Mare-cat with rapt interest. Fluttershy broke free off the roof and floated down to meet Vinyl, who had now locked eyes with her. "Oh, Vinyl, you startled me," Fluttershy squeaked. "Um, yeah, sorry 'bout that Shy; I just wanted to ask if you needed some more help with anything before I took the rest of my stuff into my room." "If you can grab all of that so I can get dinner started; that would be wonderful," Fluttershy motioned to the speaker pile that was blocking the path to the kitchen. "Sure thing," Vinyl flashed a wide smile towards Fluttershy. Fluttershy just stared back with a small blush. 'This is the second time I've seen her smile,' Fluttershy thought quietly. 'She has such a pretty face...' "Um... Hello? Equestria to Fluttershy. Anypony there ?" Vinyl was now inches from Fluttershy; and was in the process of shaking the dazed mare. When Fluttershy realized this, she promptly eeped and dove into the mound of socks. "I was just teasing, Fluttershy. I didn't think you'd be that scared, sheesh." There's that smile again, Fluttershy noticed through the sock mountain. That was real reason Fluttershy said yes to Vinyl moving in; and not because she needed someone to take care of Angel while she was in Fillysberg for the next week. In fact, the trip had been canceled due to unforeseen weather over the railways in that area. To be completely honest, she just wanted some more company, since she lived so far out of the way and her friends had so much going on during the day. 'But it's not like she needs to know that.' Fluttershy crawled out onto the floor and was met with an inquisitive stare. Angel had come out of his house for food, and was looking at her with well learned stare. "Oh dear, Angel, I'll get the food done right away." Vinyl had just moved the last of the speakers into her room when she say Derpy at the door. "Hiya, Ms. Hooves. What can I do for you?" "Well, Mayor Mare wants you to come by whenever you get the chance," Derpy replied lackadaisically. "Alrighty Derpy, I'll see you later." "Awright, later Vinyl." Vinyl shut the door and returned to the kitchen. Inside, she could see Fluttershy sweeping the last of the ingredients with her hoof into the bowl of stew with as much grace as a profession chef. Vinyl watched from the sidelines as Fluttershy milled around the kitchen; every new action inspiring the mare. Not even Vinyl's mother had the same care and attention to detail that Fluttershy had. It was as if she put her whole soul into everything she did. After a few moments of observation, Vinyl decided to help the Cream-colored mare. "Hey, do want some help." "Sure thing. You may start by taking these turnips and..." Fluttershy chimed out all of her instructions in as sweet a manner as a pony could. 'Wow, no would wonder these pets hang around her; She'd make the perfect mom. Wait...what the hay am I saying?' Vinyl realized that she was staring at Fluttershy's flank with a lot of unnecessary interest. She blushed and went to work helping Fluttershy, while trying to avoid eye contact until the thoughts went away at least. The rest of the night went by as slow and as uncomfortably as it possibly could. ~~~~ Derpy descended the cloud layer above Dr. Whooves office to drop off the last of his paperwork for the week. It wasn't until she had reached the upstairs window that she realized that she had misjudged her landing completely. It was then that everything went black. ~~~ Dr.Whooves was sitting back in the bath, trying to shake of his last week of boredom. 'It has come to my attention,'he thought dryly, 'that I may be TOO good with my patients.' The entire week, he had only seen Rainbow Dash for the usual bumps and bruises and nothing else. While he usually would welcome the opportunity to catch up on some light reading, he found himself inexplicably drawn to random thoughts during the day; usually involving a certain grey mare. As his thoughts drifted back once again, he grumbled loudly and sank into the water. 'Hmm, this bath could use some bubbles.' As if on cue, a grey blur streaked in through the bathroom window and splashed into the tub. For a few moments, the room was eerily quiet; with only sound the water moving back into place in the tub. But, before it could completely settle, the blur resurfaced, only it was Derpy, her eyes swiveling around in the socket in every direction, as if they were trying to find the culprit to this watery mess. Whooves was the first to speak."Miss Derpy, would it be to much of a bother to ask why you have decided to take a bath with me." Derpy shook her head and assessed the situation quickly. It only took a few moments to realize what the scene looked like. Dr.Whooves was pressed firmly to the back of the tub, with only his head above the water. Derpy had her forhooves locked around him in tight embrace, and her belly was pressed against his. As their breathes intermingled, her mane dripped water onto the Doctor's snout. Their tails where interlaced with such finesse that they could have been mistaken for one multicolored tail. Derpy's breath became quick and light as her mind went through every dirty fantasy that could have been envisioned by any mortal pony. With as much grace as a tractor with butter for tires; she tumbled out of the tub and grabbed a towel to hid her furious blush. "Derpy?" "Hrmph?" "Are you alright?" She lifted her head from the towel, "Yes..., um, do you need anything?" "N-no, not really... ... ...Well,actually, there is one thing." "Yes,Doctor ?" The Doctor looked at her with a shy smile, "Do you want to share another bubble bath sometime?" The air went stiff as their eyes met. "U-u-u-u-u-hm", Derpy blush blanketed her face and threatened the rest of her body, "sorry; I didn't quite catchthat. What did you say?"
