> History of the Truebloods > by Shadowdance > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > The beginning... > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The first truebloods were the original vampony, they were strong, beyond powerful and simply impossible to kill. They were considered truly immortal, and often led to believe that they were. They are not harmed by the sun, their skin does not burn in contact with silver, and they do not feel fear. They can control a vamponies with absolutely no problems, and they have no allergy to garlic. After a time, they came across the first ponies. They needed to test their abilities, so they came among them and turned them to their own kind. They named these creatures 'vamponies', they created servants, the vampony species. These ponies were forced to work under the discretion and advisement of the truebloods. Because of the enormous potential of the truebloods, no vampony gave a thought to what some may call their enslavement. Working only for their masters to the best of their ability. The strongest of these truebloods were known as Prometheans, the original spark of the truebloods. For as more truebloods or other vamponies are created, the original lines powers grow. The most powerful of these were treated as kings by all vamponies, trueblood or otherwise. An incredibly powerful promethean rose to power above even his brothers. No one and nothing remembers his name, only his deed... ...He created the moon. The creation of the moon led to the belief in total vampony superiority, leading to the warriors of the vampony clan to go to war against the ponies of what would one day be equestria. These ponies were not warriors, and as such, fell quickly to the vamponies. Who then raised themselves as leaders and protectors of their 'flock' creating new vamponies when time called, but otherwise just feeding from the ponies and protecting them. Then the unthinkable happened, something that none of our ancient ancestors ever believed would happen. A Trueblood was slain. The news swept across the entirety of the Vampony Empire, leading many to declare the statement untrue, until of course the body could be presented. No such body was brought forth, until the King of all vamponies himself presented a body, one of his own direct children, who had been slain. Killed, not by the kings hand, but by a ponies. It was revealed that ponies had developed a weapon capable of making Trueblood vamponies mortal for a short time. Which, if one was able to kill the regular vamponies to reach the trueblood, would spell their certain doom. The hunters started seeking and killing as many trueblood as possible, bringing forth an era of uncertainty and of course, war. The vamponies, now realizing they were little better then slaves, in no small part to the one who mockingly refers to herself as 'Queen', lead an open rebellion against their creators, slaughtering the Truebloods to the last. This lead to a decree that was raised upon the Three Iron Laws of the Vampony: 1. Do not kill, unless the vampony race is threatened. 2. Create nopony who could not maintain the strength of the clan. 3. Do not allow the forestallment of judgment on the accused. And finally, the ancient decree itself: No Truebloods can survive their birth, for it would mean doom if it were. Truebloods are born, not created. As such, no vampony Trueblood has existed in many thousand years. However, after the defeat of the truebloods at the hands of pony and vampony alike, the Vamponies went into hiding. Staying away from those they once called 'prey' and keeping to themselves. Leading many to believe that the history of vamponies is simply a myth. That no such thing as a vampony exists. I will now tell you a secret, one that is only eighteen years old, one that has had a natural birth. One that is the most powerful of the vamponies, in all ways. And may be a match for any princess in magical combat! Most likely also more then a match for any single foe in existence, if it were to come to that. He is incorruptible, loyal, and most of all kind. The secret is a single living trueblood in this world. He hides as a DJ and does what he can to stay out of the spotlight. He hides from his own kind as surely as he hides from the ponies who may kill him. You will never know his name, but know that he has done things even his own kind could not wish upon him, and he is just as immortal and all powerful as the original Truebloods were said to be. He knows the history of the vamponies better then any, because he is the history of the vamponies. He has a single message for any who seek him; 'Look for the Twilight skies under Ponyville, and you shall see me. Find the tree with none to see, and look for the Sparkle of magic.' Figure out the riddle, if you can, and he may lead you to something that may overwhelm you. > ... And the end > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- She stared out of the window in the bottom of her tree-home of ponyville, unable to process the message delivered to her by the princess, as well as the book. If this sort of information was true, then vamponies would have once ruled pony kind! That couldn't be right. She paced back and forth, occasionally glancing out the window, agitated and confused. How could somepony write this? Was it a lie? Was it a trick, a cruel joke? Was it real? Whoever wrote this... she checked the Authors name on the book, which read 'Drakalyte', Must be playing a cruel joke. It had no other explanation, and it couldn't be real! There was no way. She nodded, knowing she had to be right, there was no way in all of equestria that a single pony could have knowledge of this sort. Unless they were a Vampony themselves. That one actually gave her pause, If it is real, if he is a vampony... then maybe that was why Celestia sent me this book. Do I need to find this Author? She checked the letter, but there was no information to be held. It simply said to read it, and try to understand it. Then what should I do? Come find me Twilight, if you can.
