A Happy Ending for Twilight and Spike
NOTE: The following takes place after the episode "Magic Duel", and I recommend watching it before reading this story. I normally wouldn't recommend the episode for fun because I really despised it, but I digress. Other then that, on with the story! And when I mean it takes place after "Magic Duel", I literally mean RIGHT after.
“OhmygoshIcantalkagainit’sabouttimeIthoughtIwasnevereverevereverevereverevereverevereverevergonnatalkagainthankyouthankyouthankyou!” said Pinkie Pie, now being able to talk again.
“All in a day’s work.” said Twilight, smiling. Twilight then saw Spike sitting on a stack of hay, with his back turned.
“I must say Spike,” said Twilight. “It’s a relief I’m back here with ya!”
“How could you?” said Spike, not turning to Twilight.
“What?” said Twilight.
Spike then flipped around to Twilight, as his eyes were flowing with tears. “HOW COULD YOU FORGIVE HER?!” He said, angry and hurt. “I could’ve never seen you again because of Trixie, and you forgave her?!”
Twilight didn’t know what to say. “Spike, I-” She said.
“Just forget it.” He said, wiping his tears. “I just need some time to think.” With that, Spike stomped off into the library and slammed the door, causing Twilight to flinch.
“What’s his problem?” Twilight said.
“Ah wouldn’t be surprised.” said Applejack, who with Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Rarity was standing behind her.
“Girls, what’s going on?” Twilight asked. “And what’s wrong with Spike?”
Applejack put her hoof on Twilight’s shoulder. “Sugarcube, there’s something y’all oughta know.”
Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Rarity had just got away from Trixie and her craziness, as they went into the library. They were going to look for something to see if it connected with what Trixie was doing until they heard something. They heard it coming from upstairs.
"Mmmm'm mmmm?" said Pinkie Pie, who's mouth was previously taken by Trixie.
"Beats me, Pinkie." said Rainbow Dash.
They walked up and saw Spike on Twilight’s bed. They noticed Spike weeping as he was holding a picture of him and Twilight. Applejack walked over onto the bed and put her hoof on Spike’s shoulder.
“Hey, sugarcube.” Applejack said. “It’s all gonna be okay.”
Spike looked up at Applejack, his eyes filled with tears. “It’s all my fault, Applejack.” He whimpered.
“What ever are you talking about?” said Rarity. “You didn’t have anything to do with that awful Trixie.”
“No, it’s not that.” said Spike. “It’s just that, Twilight has always been there for me, she hatched me as an egg. She’s all the family I had...the closest thing I had to a mother, I’ve-I’ve never even got a chance to tell Twilight how I felt...and now, I’m not sure I ever will!”
Spike started to cry again but Rarity climbed up on the bed and hugged Spike in order to comfort him. “Shhhh,” She said. “It’s going to be okay. I promise.” Spike continued crying as he buried his face in Rarity’s chest, which made Rarity hold him tighter. Applejack put her hoof on Spike's shoulder as Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie looked at him sadly. Rainbow Dash looked mad at what Trixie did to Spike, but then tears flowed from her eyes as she went in the corner, not wanting the other ponies to see her cry.
As Applejack finished the story, Twilight could not believe what she heard. “And when ya’ll forgave Trixie, the pony who pretty much traumatized him, he’s pretty much lost a little faith on ya.”
Tears welled up in Twilight’s eyes as she fell to the ground. “Oh, Applejack. What have I done to him?! What am I gonna do?!” She cried.
“Ah’ll tell ya’ll what ya can do,” Applejack said ruffling her mane. “Y’all need to straighten this out. That little fella’s incredibly sensitive, be there for him, be his family.” Twilight pulled herself together and sighed. “You’re right, Applejack.” said Twilight. “I need to fix this.” She then walked into her library. The girls walked away. "M mmmm mmmmmmmmmm mmmmm mmm mmmm!" said Pinkie Pie. "Hey," said Rainbow Dash. "How come you're still talking like that? You got your mouth back!" "I know," said Pinkie Pie. "But talking like that is kind of funny!"
Twilight walked upstairs as she noticed Spike sitting on his bed. He was rubbing his watery eyes.
“Spike,” She said walking up to him.
“I really don’t feel like talking.” Spike said, with his voice cracking.
“Alright,” said Twilight, putting her hoof around him. “Then I’ll talk. Applejack told me what happened. How upset you feel, and how you see me as your mother.”
“I know,” said Spike. “It’s ridiculous. How you’re a pony, and I’m a dragon.”
Twilight instantly pulled him into a hug. “How you feel is anything but ridiculous.” She said. “What Applejack told me how you felt is absolutely right, I’ve always been there for you. We’ve always been together and we always will be.”
Spike looked up at Twilight, still rubbing tears from his eyes.
“I’m sorry I snapped at you earlier." said Spike. "I should've known that since you forgave Trixie that she won't be bothering us anymore. Why did I blow up at you?!" Spike started to cry in Twilight's chest.
“Hey, it’s okay.” said Twilight, comforting him. “Forgiving ponies takes time, and for you, it's normal. Now, come on. Give me a little smile.”
Spike gave a weak little smile.
Twilight smirked. She then looked at Spike’s belly.
“Oh my goodness!” She said. “I think I see something.”
“Huh?” said Spike. “Where?”
“Here.” Twilight said as she playfully poked Spike’s belly making him giggle.
“Oh, are you ticklish?” She said, grinning.
“Well, I, uh...” said Spike.
“How about here?” She said, getting in under his arms.
“He-he, stop.” Spike said, starting to smile.
“Or how about here?” said Twilight tickling him on his belly again, causing him to laugh. Twilight then began to tickle him more as he started laughing hysterically.
After a while, she stopped tickling him as Spike was now cheered up.
“Feel better, Spike?” She asked. Spike smiled and nodded.
“How about you sleep with me tonight?” said Twilight.
“Okay,” said Spike, as he climbed onto the bed with her.
“And Spike,” said Twilight. “If you want to call me your mom, you can. I will still love you the way you are, and nothing’s going to change it.” Spike smiled at that as Twilight then kissed him on the forehead. “Goodnight Spike.” She said.
Spike snuggled closer to Twilight. “Goodnight...mom.” Spike whispered, before drifting off to sleep. When Twilight heard that, happy tears welled up in her eyes as she then saw a shining star. Twilight then fell asleep with Spike.
That same star, Twilight was looking at, was the same one a small cricket was looking at from Applejack’s farm. He then started to sing.

His singing caught the attention of Applejack, who was getting ready for bed but stopped when she heard the cricket sing. She stepped outside and saw him.
Applejack took her hat off in respect. “What a beautiful song.” She said. The cricket turned around and saw Applejack.
“Oh, hello.” He said, tipping his hat. “Allow me to introduce myself. Cricket’s the name, Jiminy Cricket.”
“The name’s Applejack.” Applejack said. “What y’all doing out here?”
“Well, uh,” said Jiminy. “I...I don’t know. I usually don’t stay in one place very long.”
“Well, you can stay here, if you like.” said Applejack.
“You mean it?” said Jiminy.
“Of course.” said Applejack. “Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye.”
“Huh?” said Jiminy, confused.
Applejack giggled as she put Jiminy on her back. “Welcome to the family.” Jiminy’s confused look then turned into a smile as they then walked inside the barn.
