The Adventure Begins (Part 1)
CHAPTER 1
“Wake up!!” Colgate yells.
Berry Punch opens her eyes and Colgate helps her out of bed.
“Hey, how are you feeling?”
“I have a headache, how about you?” sighs Berry Punch.
“I’m fine.”
“Colgate, when you were in Canterlot did you have any friends?”
“Sure there was Moondancer, Lemon Drops, Twinkleshine, and I guess Twilight Sparkle. Why do you ask?”
“Were they nicer to you than I am?”
“You’re the nicest friend I could have found in Ponyville. They were just snobs who liked fancy parties.”
“Okay, thank you.”
“You should get some rest now,” says Colgate.
Berry Punch lies back down on the bed and closes her eyes. Colgate goes downstairs and puts breakfast on the table for Berry Punch. She picks up a piece of paper and writes with a ballpoint pen: I am going out for a little. I will come back in the afternoon. Eat the food I left you and no drinking any alcohol until tomorrow, okay. Please. Your best friend Colgate
“That’s good enough, now let’s get some fresh air,” mutters Colgate to herself as she puts the
letter next to the food and walks out the door.
It was a sunny day in Ponyville. As Colgate was walking, she notices Ditzy Doo and Carrot Top coming out of their dorm.
“Hey Ditzy Doo, Carrot Top!”
“Oh…well hello Colgate” Ditzy Doo says.
“What are you guys up to today?”
“Not much Colgate – we were about to go to the Café” Carrot Top says.
“Do you . . . want to come?” Ditzy Doo’s eyes pop up.
“I would love to. And I’ll pay, but do you mind if I meet you there. Berry Punch would be mad if I go there without her. It’s her favorite restaurant” Colgate says happily.
“Sure go ahead Colgate”
Colgate runs back home to get Berry Punch. She bursts through the door, and runs up the stairs to find Berry Punch on the floor choking.
“Oh my god!” Colgate screams. She immediately turns Berry Punch over on her stomach.
“Please be okay, Please, Please, Please,” she repeats over and over.
Berry Punch opens her eyes and starts coughing.
“Oh my god! You’re okay,” Colgate smiles.
“What happened?” Berry Punch asks.
“Berry, you’re drinking has to stop,” Colgate says.
“I can’t, I just can’t.”
“Everybody can. You know Donut Joe?” asks Colgate.
“Yes, he has a donut store in the Gala every year.”
“He used to drink, but now he has been sober for years,” Colgate says proudly.
“I just…” Berry Punch falls into Colgate’s arms.
“It’s okay” Colgate says sadly.
“Can we go somewhere to eat?” Berry Punch asks.
“Do you want to go to the Café with Carrot Top and Ditzy Doo or keep sleeping?”
“I would love to go eat with Carrot Top and Ditzy Doo, but I have to wash myself off first.”
“Okay, call me when you’re ready to leave, I’ll be downstairs.”
Colgate walks down the stairs and sits down at the table. She picks up the note and tears it into pieces.
“I’m ready Colgate!!” Berry Punch yells as she marches down the stairs.
“Okay let’s go,” they say together as they walk outside.
“It’s a nice day today.”
“Yes it is Berry.”
“Are you mad at me?” she asks.
“Of course not. I was worried about you” Colgate says sadly.
“Oh, good. I’m glad you aren’t angry.”
“Here we are.”
They walk inside and Carrot Top and Ditzy Doo wave to them. They sit down on the empty seats next to them.
“Hey Berry Punch, how is it going today?” asks Carrot Top.
“Fine, I guess.”
“Good, I’m glad you could make it” Carrot Top says.
“So what are you going to get Berry Punch? I’m getting the H.L.T.” Colgate says.
“I’ll just get some hay fries”
“Me and Carrot Top…already ordered while we were waiting,” explains Ditzy Doo.
The waiter comes and takes their orders.
As the waiter walks away Colgate shouts, “Wait, I would like some punch for the four of us!”
“Oh, non-alcoholic?” asks the waiter.
“Yes please” Colgate says sweetly.
“Alright then, I’ll get that for you right away.”
“Colgate, is everything okay?” Carrot Top asks.
“Ya, you seem sad and worried,” Ditzy Doo agrees.
“No, we have had some drinking problems but that’s all. It’s okay.”
“If you say so,” nods Carrot Top.
The waiter brings the food to the table.
“The Daffodil and Daisy Sandwich” the waiter says.
“That’s . . . me” says Ditzy Doo.
“The Tomato and hay soup?”
Carrot Top nods “That would be me.”
“The H.L.T?”
“For me”
“And that leaves the fries for you.”
“Thank you so much for the food”
The waiter walks away and the four ponies start eating. For the first time in the day a smile goes across Berry Punch’s face.
“This is amazing,” she exclaims.
“Wonderful.”
“Fantastic.”
“This is the best H.L.T I’ve ever had.”
Finally they finish their food. The waiter comes over with the check.
“Thank you so much for this delicious food” Berry Punch says.
“Oh, you’re welcome. We hope to see you again.”
“Bye” Ditsy Doo says.
“Okay, we’ll see you two later.”
Colgate and Berry Punch wave goodbye and head off to the schoolyard to pick up Berry Punch’s little sisters. When they get to the school, Berry Punch asks Colgate to wait while she goes inside to get her baby sisters.
“Okay I’ll wait here” Colgate agrees.
Berry Punch walks up to the playground where one sister is.
“Pinchy, I’m here to pick you up” Berry Punch calls.
“Coming sis, just need to get my stuff.”
“Okay you be quick about it though, Colgate is here.”
“Huh, she is! Okay I’ll be right there!”
The little filly ran up to Colgate and gave her a big hug.
“Hey Berry Pinch!! How’s it going?” Colgate says.
“Great! Dinky Doo and Tootsie Flute played jump rope! And I got a record!”
“That’s great, what was it?”
“78!!!” Berry Pinch shouts.
“Okay Pinchy let me go find Piña Colada.”
Berry Punch walks up to Piña Colada and taps her with her hooves.
“Wah!” Piña Colada yells.
“Sorry, Didn’t mean to startle you!”
“It’s okay. Berry Pinch told me that Colgate is here.”
“Yes she is.”
“Hey!” Colgate calls.
“Hey Colgate!” Piña Colada squeaks.
“Come on girls we should let Colgate go home.”
“Oh, I’m fine. I can walk back with you three.”
“Okay, fine.”
“YAY!!” the two fillies scream.
Colgate and the three sisters walk through Ponyville until they reach Berry Punch’s house. Suddenly Berry Punch stops in her tracks.
“What is it sis?” Colada asks.
“I forgot my bag at the café. I have to go back and get it, will you watch out for the little fillies?”
“Of course” Colgate says.
Berry Punch hands the keys to Colgate and shoots off like a bullet. Colgate unlocks the door and the two sisters run straight through.
“Wait a minute little fillies!” Colgate yells.
“Colgate! What do you want to play?”
“Whatever you want,” Colgate says.
“Jump Rope!!!!” Piña Colada screams.
“No, Pin the tail on the pony!!!” Berry Pinch yells.
“Okay now how about we do a little of both”
“Okay!!!!!!!!!!”
“Ow, that was really loud!” Berry Pinch yells.
“Don’t tell me what to do!!” Piña Colada yells.
“Don’t tell me what to do” Pinchy says back.
“Don’t tell me wh…”
“Be quiet!!!! For me!” Colgate yells.
“We are sorry”
“It’s okay little fillies, sisters always fight”
“Okay now, let’s play some games!” Berry Pinch squeaks.
Berry Pinch and Piña Colada run and get the pony board and paste it on the wall. Piña Colada gets the blindfold and wraps it around Berry Pinch’s eyes.
“Pin the Tail!” she screams.
Berry Pinch walks up to the board and pins it right on the tail.
“You did it!!” Piña Colada screams.
“Oh my god!” Berry Pinch jumps up and down.
“Let’s play jump rope!” Piña Colada squeaks.
Suddenly Berry Punch comes inside. The two girls shrink down and Colgate goes up to the door.
“Okay kids I’m…back” Berry Punch says.
“Okay I better get home now” Colgate says while touching the doorknob.
“Bye Colgate!” the sisters say at once.
“Bye, little fillies!” Colgate says as she walks out the door.
“Okay girls do you want to watch some TV before bed?”
“Yes please!” Piña Colada yells.
“Okay but promise me you won’t ask to watch another episode!”
“We Promise!!”

Colgate had almost reached her house when she sees a small pony running towards the Everfree Forest. Colgate runs towards the filly who had a coat the color of violet wildflowers and a mustard yellow mane.
“Wait, don’t go in there!” Colgate yells.
The filly doesn’t seem to listen and hops into the forest. Colgate follows her. She tosses the branches away from her face trying to catch up with the young filly. Finally the filly stops in front of a hut.
“What? a house in the forest?” Colgate mutters to herself.
The filly walks inside. Colgate quickly follows and puts her ear up to the door.
“My little filly, don’t be silly. I’m in no place to give you a taste” a voice says.
“Oh, please!” the filly cries.
Colgate opens the door to find a zebra with the filly.
“What are you doing with the filly?” Colgate yells.
“No! Don’t yell at her! it was my fault!”
“The filly was…” the Zebra begins.
“Enough with your rhymes! I’m bringing this little filly home!” announces Colgate.
The filly and Colgate walk out the door and Colgate directs her out of the forest.
“Who are you?” the filly asks.
“I’m Colgate, and you shouldn’t be with strangers.”
“She’s not a stranger, she’s a friend!”
“What’s your name?”
“Dinky Doo.”
“I’m sorry Dinky Doo, but you should go back home. I know your friend Berry Pinch and she would be worried if she knew you were walking alone into the Everfree Forest.”
“Okay.”
Dinky Doo runs away. Colgate sighs and walks back home. She opens the door and sits at her dining room table. She picks up a bottle of wine and cuts a piece of bread. Colgate takes a chug of the wine and a bite of the bread. She walks up the stairs and goes into her room. She picks up some foalgate and brushes her teeth. She goes to the bedroom and picks up where she had left off reading Daring Do and the Sapphire Stone.
“Well that was a tiring day” Colgate mutters to herself.
Turning to the right page, she adjusts her pillow. Colgate rolls her eyes and puts down the book on the counter.
“I’m going to bed.”

Berry Punch awakes to find Piña Colada and Berry Pinch jumping on her bed.
“What are you doing!” she screams.
“It’s school time!” Piña Colada squeaks.
“Oh hay!” Berry Punch gets out of bed and runs downstairs.
Berry Punch quickly packs them some lunch.
“Here are your lunches girls.”
“Thanks!” Piña Colada says.
Berry Pinch and Berry Punch run out the door, following their sister Piña Colada who has already bounced out on her way to school. They get to the schoolyard and the two fillies run into the school and into their classroom.
“Sorry we’re late Ms. Cheerilee” Berry Pinch says.
“It’s okay girls” Cheerilee says.
Piña Colada and Berry Pinch sit down at their seats and look at Cheerilee.
“Okay class, turn to page 150 in The History of Equestria”

The very same morning Carrot Top and Ditzy Doo are sitting in their dining room eating breakfast.
“Where did you go yesterday after the café!!” she yells.
“Stop yelling at me” Ditzy Doo says softly.
“I’m sorry, just please tell me” Carrot Top says.
Ditzy Doo gets out of her chair and stomps upstairs.
“Come on Ditzy Doo! Don’t go upstairs,” Carrot Top shouts.
“I was helping… Rainbow Dash clear… the clouds” Ditzy Doo stutters.
Carrot Top yells ”Liar!”
Ditzy Doo comes downstairs and walks out the door. She walks past the schoolyard and Town Hall and finally reaches the Everfree Forest. She walks up to a blue box and knocks on the door.
“Doctor!”
“Is that you Ditzy?”
“Yes, Doctor”
A stallion opens the door and welcomes Ditzy in. The inside is ten times bigger than the outside.
“Where do you want to go today?” the Doctor says.
“I want to see the founding of Equestria” Ditzy says.
The stallion that Ditzy called the Doctor nods and pulls a few switches. A loud sound rings through the air and suddenly everything is silent. Ditzy smiles and opens the door. Ditzy looks around and finds herself in a big building. The walls are decorated with peppermint candies, cups of pudding, and pink and blue cupcakes. She steps onto the floor and notices rotting oak panels making cool little patterns. Suddenly three royal guards come running at them and knock them over.
“Infiltration!” one of the guards shouts.
“Now what do we have here,” asks a pudding-colored earth pony.
“They came out of this blue box, Chancellor Puddinghead.”
“Smart Cookie!!” Chancellor Puddinghead calls.
A tan pony comes running over to the Chancellor.
“Yes Chancellor” Smart Cookie says.
“Introduce these two ponies to our land”
“Are you sure that that’s a good idea?” Smart Cookie says.
“Are you questioning me?” Chancellor Puddinghead asks.
“No, but there is a blizzard outside,” she replies.
“What is it going to do?” Chancellor Puddinghead dismissively responds, opening the door.
Piles of snow come on top of the Chancellor. The Doctor winks at Ditzy. Ditzy smiles and continues to watch. Suddenly a beautiful mare comes walking in the door. Her purple coat matches her crown and robe perfectly. She smirks at the Doctor and Ditzy, directs her words at Chancellor Puddinghead, “Well, look who is just like she always is.”
“Princess Platinum! What are you doing here?” Smart Cookie asks angrily.
“We’re having a meeting at the Unicorn Castle and I expect all the leaders of the pony tribes to be there” Princess Platinum snappily says.
“Get your snobby ponyself out of here” Smart Cookie says angrily.
Princess Platinum sneers at Smart Cookie and walks out the door. Chancellor Puddinghead pops out of the snow.
“Well, I have to go to Unicorn Castle!” the Chancellor squeaks.
“Try to convince them to agree” Smart Cookie says sadly.
Chancellor Pudding head nods and walks out the door. Smart Cookie sighs and goes into the other room. The Doctor runs over to the door that says in big Gold letters: CHANCELLOR PUDDINGHEAD
“Well Ditzy, come along” the Doctor says while fiddling with his Sonic Screwdriver.
The door opens and Ditzy walks in quietly with the Doctor. The Doctor opens the cabinet doors to discover shelves stuffed with papers.
“Well Ditzy, are you ready?” the Doctor says.
The Doctor looks at the pages and most are covered with portraits of Puddinghead. He looks at other pages and finds autobiographical stories about her.
“I think we found a narcissist,” the Doctor says.
Outside Smart Cookie is walking towards the door. The Doctor picks up Ditzy and hides behind the curtain. Smart Cookie opens the door and looks around. She notices the stray papers on the desk. She walks over to them and looks at them.
“Ha Ha! She sure is an awful author,” Smart Cookie laughs.
Smart Cookie walks over to the curtain and opens it. The Doctor looks at Ditzy and then Smart Cookie.
“Um, hello” the Doctor says.
“I went inside your blue box,” she replies calmly.
“What?” the Doctor yells.
“Are you some sort of alien?” Smart Cookie asks.
“Wow, you’re the only person who’s ever guessed that,” the Doctor nods.
“Why do you have a northern accent then?”
“Lots of planets have a north,” the Doctor says happily.
“Oh,” Smart Cookie says.
“You’re an alien?” Ditzy Doo asks.
