"Once upon a time..." Celestia began, ignoring the snap from Discord's talon.

Canterlot castle

Princess Luna was sleeping peacefully, her curtains blocking out all light from her sister's sun. Sighing, a small smile appeared on her graceful face as she finally drifted into her own dream.

What made her suddenly wake up though, were the screams of the nobles and guards. Getting up quickly, she galloped to her door, a defensive spell already made. When it opened, her eyes widened as the avalanche of marshmallow fluff poured in.

Celestia's story

Celestia was hidden, her alabaster coat hidden by the leaves of the bush she was currently in. Her eyes were narrowed at the alicorn and Draconequus sitting on a small blanket. a now empty basket behind them.

Luna and Discord, not fighting for once, were sitting together, having a nice picnic under Celestia's sun. Discord let out a yawn as the sun's warm rays flowed over him. Looking over, he smiled as he saw the light reflect off Luna's eyes. She caught him looking and turned, about to say something when, she noticed him slide over another sandwich. Looking at him, she smirked as he shrugged.

"Discord," she said. "Why hath thou requested Our presence?" She asked taking a small bite of the sandwich.

"Requested?" He parroted. "I merely asked if you'd like to have a picnic this afternoon. Is there something wrong, your majesty?"

"Aye. Thou hast just said 'your majesty' as if thou were loyal to Us." She said. "Our suspicion arose when thou had asked us, while hanging from Our chambers window. One does not simply hang from a mares window without reason."

"Well, you've forgotten, I'm Discord. I don't believe in reason. Just chaos." He said with a chuckle. "But, in a sense, chaos happens for a reason too. So, yes, I had a reason to be hanging from your bedroom window. I wasn't sure when to ask you to a picnic."

She merely smiled and looked away towards the last edge of sunlight as her night descended across the land. Standing, and brushing a few crumbs off from her chest, she closed her eyes and lit her horn.

Discord was frozen, a dopey smile splayed across his face as he watched the princess of the night extend her wings and slowly raise into the night sky. Her form was silhouetted against the light of her moon, and in a small ring of light, the stars came to life in the dozens. She quietly landed, her eyes closed until she got back down on her belly.

"What dost thou think?" She asked looking over at the Draconequus as he looked at her.

"Beautiful," he said looking into her eyes. "The moon I mean! Uh, the stars are really beautiful! I wasn't calling you beautiful, if that's what your were thinking. Not that you're not beautiful! You're gorgeous! I-I mean... I'm just going to shut up." He said blushing.

"Thou... Thou thinks We art... Gorgeous?" She asked twirling a bit of her mane with a hoof.

"Uh... Yes." He sighed. "You caught me, I guess. I-I've had a crush on you. You were always fun to argue and fight with. The last time we fought, that argument we had over the last slice of cake, I guess something clicked when I looked into your eyes. I saw an intelligent, funny, and caring mare. Luna," he said looking back at her. "What do you see when you look in mine?"

Looking back at him, she stared directly into his yellow and red eyes. Smiling after a second, she put a hoof on his paw and scooted a little closer.

"We see a lonely soul, with great intelligence, caring, funny, and untamed. Tis qualities we can appreciate, especially in such a being as thyself."

"You know princess," he said looking back at the stars. "Your night is a lot like me. Chaotic, but gorgeous at the same time. My chaos, whenever I cause it, it is meant for joy. Your stars, they're meant to bring a smile upon anyone's face. It, at first glance, is a jumble of light and colors, but," he smiled and pointed up at them, making the constellations shine brighter. "If you look close enough, you can make out some of the most beautiful artwork to bless the sky."

"Dost thou truly believe Our night is a blessing?" She asked with a wider smile.

"As much as your sister believes I'm a nuisance." He said making her laugh.

"Thou art a nuisance." She said. "Not an unwelcome nuisance," she said. "Thou art the same as us. Forever living, undying, immune from disease and starvation. Discord," she said scooting up to him. "Promise us, promise us that thou will never leave us. We wish for thy company."

"I promise, for as long as I'm not busy running for my life because I made your sister mad, I'll be there for you."

"So, thou will never be by Our side?" She said laughing.

"Well see, she's pretty gullible. All I ever need to do is throw a pie in her face and hide under a rug." He chuckled.

"Do not forget the treaty incident." She laughed. "We have not seen Our sister in such a rage before. It seemed as if the gates of Tartarus opened in her eyes and possessed her."

Discord, smiling a bit, put his lion arm around her, she looked at it for a second before resting her head against his chest.

In the bushes, Celestia was bristling with anger. She was gritting her teeth, face red from embarrassment. Her eyes widened for a second when she saw Discord kiss her sister on the top of the head.

Luna giggled slightly, looking up she saw Discord with a grin. She shook her head, and was about to say something when she noticed the faintest trace of white behind Discord.

Discord, for his part, was a little curious as to what Luna was looking at. Feeling a tap on his shoulder, he didn't get to speak when Celestia punched him across the jaw. As he fell to the ground in a slight daze, Luna backpedaled in shock, her fore-hooves covering her mouth.

"Keep thy paw and claw off Our sister!" Celestia yelled as she shook her gold clad hoof at him.

"O-Ow." Discord said sitting up. "My tooth, why does it feel so wet?" He asked placing his talon to it. "Oh, you knocked it out." He smiled, holding up the crimson tooth. "You knocked my tooth out!" He yelled in sudden clarity.

"Sister!" Luna said angrily getting napkins for Discord. "What is the meaning of such violence!?"

"We were protecting thee!" Celestia retorted. "We have not forgotten the griffon incident either, Discord. We have redeemed Ourself, now," she turned on her hoof and began to trot away. "We shall be in Our chambers."

Real world

The crowd was yet again in an uproar of laughter. Celestia had a proud look on her face as Discord was pouting and sporting a strong blush.

"What did I ever do to you, Celestia?" He asked looking at her, his face mixed with anger and sadness. "I thought we were friends? And here you are, exposing my most embarrassing secret. I've never done that to you. I never hurt you like that."

Her smile slowly faded and the crowds laughter died down to nothing as he sat down on the stage and began to let a few tears escape. Blowing his nose on a tissue, he clenched his jaw as he cried into his paw and claw. Looking at the crowd, she saw them all glaring at her.

"Discord, I'm sorry," she said trying to put a hoof on his shoulder. "You were... You were right. That was rude and cruel of me. I'm sorry."

"I-I know..." He sniffed. "You'll be sorry. Especially after this." He laughed, snapping his tail.

She looked up and saw nothing but white. In a sudden rush, it all fell on her as Discord teleported out of the way. She suddenly found herself covered in marshmallow cream. What she didn't expect after, was for another pony to fall out too.

Discord, along with the crowd, were laughing at the solar princess as she struggled to stand up. They all slowly became quiet as they saw two white alicorns get up. Looking between the two, Discord crouched down in front of the smallest one. Wiping away the fluff from where the eyes should be, he was met with two aqua colored ones glaring back.

"Princess Luna, funny seeing you here." He said as Celestia wiped the fluff from her eyes. "We were just talking about you actually. Do you remember when I lost my tooth?" He asked.

"Discord," she said. "Run."

He complied and was sure that he'd have two angry alicorns chasing after him, but instead, he heard Celestia's muffed gasp, and to be knocked down by a sudden wave of marshmallow fluff. Getting up, he wiped it away from his eyes and looked back to see Luna fully clean, her horn giving off a last ring of magic around her body.

Celestia, was wiping more fluff that Luna had thrown on her face, off in an attempt to restore her vision.

"You still remember that night?" Luna asked.

He merely nodded, his mouth stuck shut after attempting to eat the gooey treat.

"How sweet." She smiled. "We still recall you laying on the ground, blood coming from where she had knocked your tooth out."

He merely shrugged.

"Princess Luna," Twilight said from within the crowd. "What happened to you?"

"Oh, Twilight Sparkle!" She smiled. "I believe the royal chefs have had an accident. I awoke to the sound of screams, and when I opened my bedroom door, I was met with an avalanche of marshmallow fluff."

"That was Discord though. He flooded Canterlot with all of it." she explained. "He said if Celestia told that last story, he'd flood Canterlot."

Luna, processing the new information, slowly turned to Discord who was shaking a fist at Twilight. He slowly turned to her, a grin splayed across his face as her eyes narrowed. With a flash of her horn, Discord stood frozen in place, encased completely in ice.

"Since everypony is telling stories," she said smiling. "Who here would care to hear an embarrassing tale about Discord and my sister?"

The vote was unanimous.
