Heart of Steel Prolouge: The loneliest path You ran dodging this way and that. The trees grew thick in these areas and it made for a hard escape. You looked over your shoulder to check on your pursuer. 'Yep, still there.' Hopping over a fallen tree you glance back again to see him clear it with ease. 'He just doesn't know when to give up...' You took a hard right on a rather large oak to avoid it and change up the trail a bit. Your pursuer followed the exact path and continued on weaving through the trees hard on your tail. Poking your head out between the trees you watched as he continued on. You let a rather loud chuckle press through your lips. Catching your breath came next but that was much easier. You began to glide over the underbrush on light hooves. You were a tracker and knew how to move silently through the forest but it still didn't make it hard to detect you. Reaching the edge of the tree line took a while but you made it without any more troubles. You peered through the bush in front of you and observed a town ahead. It looked oddly familiar but you couldn't put your hoof on it. 'Have I really run that far?' You ask yourself. You had been chased almost non-stop for what you guess to be about six to seven hours. 'Where did it all go wrong?' You walked out of the bar trying to let the news settle in a get a bit of fresh air in you. Tempers in the bar were on edge at the moment and anything could set off the rather large gathering of friends. They all didn't seem to be happy but it is kind of hard to tell when everything has just been thrown at you the way you told them. A large red stallion walked out of the bar after you got a block away. He yelled out for you to stop. Your eyes widened as his voice rang in your ears. It was full of rage and ignorance. He had no idea what he dragged himself into. You bolted down the street and listened to the few screams that accompanied his pursuit. 'Fuck me...' You sat at the edge of the woods and let the tears well up on the very tips of your eyelids. It has been so long since any emotion had even thought about crossing your path. It pained you to even let the tears well up. You tired your best to blink them away but they just pushed out and ran down your checks. No longer to hold back you let the pent up emotions flood your body and rock your brain. A sea blue pony approached you and prodded you with a gentle hoof. "Hey... Are you okay?" You shook your head violently and curled into a tight ball on the ground. She sat down next to you and gently stroked you while humming a lullaby. Memories of being a foal and a young colt ran through your mind each as depressing or happy as the last. You slowly loosened your grip on yourself and tried to relax. You stopped sobbing and got a good look at the mare who comforted you. Her coat reminded you of a lake that your family had once picnicked at. Her mane was a deep blue that reminded you of the sun setting. Her eyes were of the deepest crystal clear purple any pony had ever had. She was a very attractive young mare, but you had four back in Canterlot and two of them had a foal on the way! You latched onto her and broke down to bawling your eyes out. She wrapped her hooves around you and rocked you gently back and forth. It was very soothing to say the least but it only made you want to bathe her in your sorrow even more than before. "We can do this all day you know..." The large stallion called out. The outskirts of the forest were close but running in them could prove fatal even if it was the best option at the moment. "Yeah? You yelled out to him. "Can you keep up in here?" You shrug to the trees behind you. "Eeyup.." He stated pretty flatly. "I bet ya can't prove it!" You yell running into the brush. He was close behind. You dodged each tree with ease but tried your best to keep a faster pace than him. It was physically tiring but it would have to do for now. A quick glance back confirmed your fears. Despite his large size he navigated through with grace and speed. He was gaining, and fast. You jumped over a ledge and kept the chase alive. He hopped it with an ease bound. 'He can't do this forever... I can't either...' Your tears had long since dried up. You couldn't get a hold of yourself long enough to thank the mare. She understood of course but didn't stop the flow and instead actually encouraged it a bit. Her hug tightened as you finally began to calm down. You sat there for a while just holding onto her. Resting your head on her shoulder you felt sleep over come your body. You were exhausted long before the break down but now you could barely move. She noticed and laid down in the grass dragging you along with. "Th-thanks..." You said with a sniffle. "Don't worry... Just go to sleep you look like you really need it..." You didn't argue. You couldn't argue even if you wanted to. Curling up against her body you slowly drifted off into slumber. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Celestia walked into the measly establishment and frowned at the mares that sat around and idly chatted. Luna looked up and stared at her sister. She looked devastated and this unlocked a deep rooted anger that Celestia had never before felt. "WHERE IS THAT PIECE OF SHIT!?!?!?!" Celestia screamed. Her mane jittered in random directions. Her tail equally spasmed and her eyes were wide with pupils the size of pin points. "Sister... Don't..." Luna said in a small whimper as she cowered under Celestia. "He's gone... None of us expect to see him again..." Celestia did far from calm down. The doors to the bar blew open and flew in shattered bits across the street. Ponies ran screamed at the sight. Taking a few steps out in the street Celestia spread her massive wings and gave a few test flaps. "Tia! No!" Luna cried out behind her sister. Celestia turned her head slightly. Luna winced and backed away as she saw Celestia's eyes scream murder. "No..." Luna mumbled before her sister took to the skies. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Big Mac stopped and looked around. He had taken the turn at the oak and kept on his tail. 'Where did that bugger go?' He looked up and noticed the sun was beginning to set. He turned to put the sun on his right and walked that general direction. 'Darn place gotta end somewhere...' He thought taking a few careful steps to avoid hitting a stray branch. He would have to return to Canterlot soon to pick up his sister and friends so they could get on the road back to Ponyville. He and Applejack had trees to buck and had no more time until harvest time would be in full swing. 'I hope they are alright...' ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Fern looked up at her sister MoonJade and sighed. "Jade..." The dark pony didn't answer instead she just gulped down more of the numbing liquid she had been chugging since Celestia left. "Jade... That's not good on the foal..." Fern said trying to get her sister to stop the erratic drinking. "What do I care? He sure doesn't..." She sniffled out and looked on the verge of tears. Jade quickly took another swig. "Now don't say that... He loves and the foal... He even said so... He loves Fluttershy and hers as well... He loves all of us... The only thing was that he couldn't have you... Or any pony in this room for that matter... He thinks he doesn't deserve us... Hay I guarantee that he's probably already started to see the mistake he made..." Jade looked up with hope in her eyes. "Really? You sure?" Fern nodded and took the distraction to take the beer away from her sibling. "You'll see him again... Trust me... He has to come back... Here and now? Probably not, but I'm sure it will be soon... Just you wait he will be crawling at your doorstep begging for forgiveness." This seemed to cheer Jade up a bit more. "You're right! I just need to give him time to adjust is all..." "Now you're getting it!" Fern said a little excited. "I can't wait..." Jade said flatly. Fern looked at her sister in disappointment. She crossed her fore-hooves and shook her head. This made Jade laugh and soon Fern joined in. The other mares in the room turned to regard the laughing couple. 'I hope I'm right...' Fern thought. Chapter 1: What comes around goes around You awoke on a light brown sofa. It was a very firm and lumpy. Sitting up you look around. There wasn't much furnishings in the small house. A sofa sat under you with two plush hoofchairs and a extremely small glass coffee table was in the middle of the three. On the far side was a doorway and it was rotten frame work at best. The other room was a kitchen and the blue mare from earlier seemed to be cooking something. Some chips from the roof landed on your head which made you look up. The cieling was cracked and looked very unstable. How some pony could live in this was a mystery to you. You shook off the bits and turned to see what lay behind your makeshift bed. A small hallway led to a bathroom. You thought a few door to be hidden from sight. The bathroom was straight behind the sofa. A small whistle made you fall back into the position you woke up in. "Ahem... I know your awake..." You cracked an eye and saw her standing tall above you. She smiled at you. It was a very large and had a rather Pinkie Pie feel to it. She was wearing an apron with a rather abundant supply of stains. On the small coffee table sat a steaming bowl of what you assumed to be soup. "For you!" She said cheerfully when she caught your gaze. "And for me?" She asked rather bluntly. "I... I don't got any bits with me... I left every thing behind..." Her smile widened. "Oh, I know you don't have anything! It's okay though... Don't ask if how I know... Most ponies around here aren't too friendly if you know what I mean..." Her tone grew deathly in a snap. You winced at her mood swing that noramlly would have phased you. "Sorry..." She sat down on the couch after pushing your hind legs to give her enough room. "Are you okay? You look terrible..." You looked down at your body. Cuts and bruises covered you head to tail. "No... I'm not okay..." Pain began to break through the emotional barrier you had built up. Tears flooded your eyes and your mind raced over what happened these past few days. You haven't felt emotions this strong, nor any for that matter, since Amy died. Now everything just poured out of you like a water fall in spring. You had been overstressed and over worked. Your heart pounded harder. The few cuts along your body burned as they oozed a little of your crimson liquid. You yelped in pain as the burning intensified gradually. The blue mare jumped at the loud yell. She sat on the chair next to you and gave you a very wondering look. "Do you need some pain meds? I got some in the back if you really need them..." You uelped out a hard to hear 'YES!' She must have heard because she casually walked to the bathroom in the hall. Your eyes sort of dried up and you clutched the closet pillow to your chest. "HURRY PLEASE!" You screamed. "I got to find them! Hang in there buddy!" She yelled back. You grumbled a small complaint before locking up in pain again. "It will still take some time to take hold..." She was right. You look down and open your eyes in shock. A large gash ran down your flank oozing blood at quiet a quick pace. You looked further to your right and noticed you right hind hoof was swollen at least three times its normal size and was still growing! You gave it a testing poke. Nothing. You couldn't feel your hoof tip. Yout tried to move your hoof just a smidge. It twitched. 'That's a good sign...' After the primary assessment was done yousat up and almost threw up. The sofa was caked in dried blood and clots. It was soaked all the way down to the cushons themselves! Another thing that got your attention was a bag of blood hanging behind your head and a small IV stuck in your shoulder. This bugged you a little. "How do you know my blood type?" You had plenty of blood transfusions from 'Farming' accendents to know that it has to be the right type. "I don't! It's O- so it's good for anypony! Hold on just a little longer!" You shook your head and went back to your hoof. It didn't look to bad. It's been worse, much worse. Once a long time ago it had swoolen to your calf. It was completely hardened and painless. Walking on it didn't hurt nor did it make it any worse. The first few inches below nad above the edge of swelling hurt like a bitch, but it never hindered you. Now it was just a limp useless piece of shit. You scowled at the swollen leg and gave it a hard slap with your hoof. The soft clopping of hooves made you stop the beating. The mare was back with a tray of asorted items. Wrappings and bandages where on one side. On the other was a vile and a needle. You sprang up and hurled yourself behind the couch ripping out the needle in your should and making you holler in pain again. You peeked up after the pain subsided, she was laughing pretty hard through the tray. She set it down next to the soup. "Guess you don't like needles or bandages?" "Well... I'm okay with bandages and needles already in me but not ones that are going in... What happened to the pills you talked about? What's the vile for? Your starting to lose all the trust you had... It wasn't much to begin with but... Still!" She laughed louder. "Wait! Let me get this straight... You will wake up in some random pony's house, that you have never met before, and be okay with that? But... When you are offered help for your wounds it's suddenly a national emergency that you don't get touched by any pny or anything that could possibly save your life... I see... Well sir you definitely have some issues..." "Not to fond of doctors..." You quickly reply. It was true that you didn't like or even trust doctors. They may have saved you a dozen times over but something told you to fear them. Something deeply rooted. You skipped along the street with your mother in tow. Your sister Windy was right by her side talking with her. You had no idea what a Flushot was but mom said it was real important to get one today. "Hold up! Your gonna get lost..." This made you freeze in place before whipping around and trotting right back to your mom's loving hooves. She grabbed hold of you and pulled you into a really tight hug that made it hard to breathe. She muzzled you lightly and soon she got more pushy. You tried your best to push her away from you but that only made her laugh and nuzzle you more. "Mom!" You whined. "You're embarrasing me!" Windy laughed at your little protest. "Mom! Stop!" She kept it up with a wide grin making Windy fall to the ground laughing louder. "Oh shut it!" You yelled to your sister. Your mom stopped immediatly and gave you a very stern look. "What? It isn't funny..." "Don't use that language young stallion..." She tapped her hoof on the ground repeatedly after she let you go. You backed away a little and hung your head before mumbling an 'Okay...' "Good... Now come on we don't want to be late now do we?" You followed mom into a large building with a red cross on it. You've never seen anything like it before. A few mares in white hats wandered around looking like they had nothing to do. A few stallions wore the same little hat, but it was only a few. Another stllion stood in the crowd of ponies. He was just a bit taller than your mom and her wore a fancy looking white coat that had a piece of wood with some paper strapped to him. He was talking to a few of the mares and pointed them to different places before they rushed off. Your mom walked up to him and gave him a light tap on the shoulder. After a few words with your mom he called you and Windy over. He gave you a very warm smile before levitating a sucker to you. "Ready for your shot today bud?" You nodded exictedly. If there was lolipops involved then it was gonna be great! He motioned for you to follow and you didn't argue one bit. He led you into a small room with a raised bed with some wierd paper on it. He told your mom he would be right back. She told you to sit quietly on the bed and wait for him to come back. You looked around at all the cool little tools and things sitting on the counter. You saw a poster of a mares insides that made you go 'EWWWW!' Windy laughed but mom sat pateintly. He came back just like he said he would. "Okay! Well it looks like it's time for your shots!" You nodded exictedly. really you just felt like it was sucker time. "Well great! You need these to grow up big and strong!" He walked over to a cabnet and pulled out a few things. You looked over to your mom who smiled at you but then turned away. Something about that unnerved you just a little bit. The stallion sat on a little chair with wheels and rolled in front of you. "So! Are you ready?" You nodded greedily again. "Good! I need you to roll on your tummy for me and then take a deep breath." He mocked a sigh and motioned for you to roll over. You didn't hesitate before you jumped up and flipped landing with a hard thud and a crinckle on the paper bed. Mom always told you never to disobey any pony older than you. "So what you gonna do mister?" You asked. "Dr. Rice... I'm gonna count to three and your going to feel a sharp pinch... Don't worry you will be completely fine!" You felt a wet and very cold thing touch your rump and rub in a small circle. The clankof metal on metal made you jump a bit but Mr. Rice just told you take another deep breath. "Okay! Here we go! 1... 2... 3!" As he said three you felt an extremely sharp pinch and you let out an even sharper yelp. "OW!" "Don't worry your fine!" He patted your flank next to where the pinch was. A coolness spread out from it and made you shiver just a bit. Just as quickly as it spread it was gonealmost as if it never happened. There was another clang of metal and the pain began to subside. You tried to roll over on your back but the doctor stopped you. "Hold on! You got a gusher!" You didn't know what he meant but you felt a warm liquid trickle down you rump. The doctor rubbed a cotton ball on you and held it in place pretty hard. "Just a little longer..." He pulled it off and you turned your head to see blood on the little fluff. "What did you do?!?" You yelled jumping off the bed and running to your mom. The doctor laughed and held up a tube with a long piece of metal on it. "This is a syringe." He pointed to the tube. "This is a needle." Now he pointed to the long piece of metal. "You see the tube holds medicine in it. Then we stick the needle into a pony and push the meds in. Thats what I did. I put medicine in you." You rubbed your flank were the needle poked you. "Why does it hurt?" Again the stallion laughed. "The needle needs to be sharp! It can't do its job if it can't break the skin. It's gonna hurt a little no matter what." "Well I don't like it!" The doctor was on the verge of tears. "Your free to go buddy. You're a tough one I'll give you that!" He patted my shoulder before wheeling over to a few pieces of paper. "Time to go." Mom said leading me over. "Just hold dtill... It will get rid of your pain faster trust me... After I'll patch you up and set you free..." You gave her a hard glare. "So now I'm your pet?" "No... You just need some help..." You smirked. "I don't need help!" You took one step to the door and face planted. Your hind leg screamed in pain. It couldn't support your weight what so ever. "Well scrath leaving any time soon..." She trotted over and helped you to your hooves. Blood trickled down your side and dripped onto the carpet. "DAMNIT! I thought I sealed that wound! Hurry, on the couch using the mare as a cruch. "By the way what's your name?" You asked feeling a little light headed. "Oh! I forgot... I'm Summerdawn!" She laid you down on the couch and began to put as much gause on your wound as possible. "I don't know how you are awake... You lost a lot of blood... Hold this..." You pressed a hoof weakly against the guaze. Your vision was begining to blur. "Don't worry... You'll be fffiiinnneee..." Everything slowed down and her voice sounded like a stallions. You moved in aq blur. You blinked very slowly and then again. You could no longer hold your eyes open. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Summerdawn looked down at your limp body. She had blood covering most of her own. "Okay... Sleep tight..." She picked up the vile and syringe. Pulling the morphine out the vile she stuck the needle deep into your flank next to the cut. Injecting as much as she could Summerdawn slumped back. "This could turn for the better..." She said slyly before falling to the floor fast asleep. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Big Mac walked down the street towards a black stallion. "Exuse me..." He said quietly. "Hmm? Oh... Hello... Can I help you?" He said rather rudely. "Uhm... Yeah, where am I?" "Equestria..." "Okay... Where in Equestria am I?" "Right next to me..." Big Mac started to become very frustrated with the black stallion. "Okay... What town am I in?" "You ever heard of... Dune?" "No..." "Never will... Now get outta here before I get in some deep shit." Big Mac huffed and walked off. 'The nerve of some ponies...' He looked around and noticed a lot of the ponies seemed to be misfits. Most had a dull look in their eyes others seemed aggressive just by appearance. He walked back to the black stallion. "Which way is Ponyville?" "Hmmm? Ponyville? Never heard of it..." "Okay... Which way is Canterlot?" "Canterlot? Well... It's about seventy-five miles south... You're not from around here are you?" Big Mac shook his head. "Thought so... Ponies get killed here for snooping in business that ain't their own... You better beat it before some pony notices..." Big Mac walked off in the direction he was told would lead to Canterlot. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Frost was walking back to the bar. Work would start soon and it was the first day that you would be starting as head bouncer. Sure Frost may have had more experience but damn you could toss a pony through a table. 'How's Fern gonna ay for that one?' Frost thought as he rounded the corner and dropped his jaw. The doors to the bar had been smashed and lay in the street. He ran over to see if every pony was okay. When he looked in he dropped his jaw again. This time and audible *THUNK* of it hitting the floor was heard. He stared as a beautiful cyan peagasus pony looked at him. She giggled and Frost pooped around the corner his blush was noticable. 'Just play it cool Frost... Rainbow Dash is in Canterlot and now is your chance...' He turned the corner with a little bit of confidence and stopped dead. Every pony was staring at him now. "Uhhhh... Hi every pony!" Frost said nervously. Rainbow looked up at him and gasped. "Your the pony that was terrible at clearing the skies... Now what was your name..." She rubbed her chin with her hoof. "Frostbite! That's it! How ya been?" Every pony was staring something fierce now. He couldn't hold him cool. "RainbowDashIhaveaverybigcrushonyou!" There was a very akward pause amongst the ponies. "Uhhh... Yeah I'll just leave now... KTHXBAI!" He almost got a full step before Dash hovered in front of him. "I'm sorry... I don't think I caught that..." She said squinting at him. He gulped and backed up slowly. Dash kept right on him. "Uhhh... Nothing... Now could you please move so--" Dash grabbed him and pulled him into a tight embrace that was acompanied by a forceful kiss on the lips. Frost fought back at first but soon realized his dreams were coming true. Dash broke the kiss and backed up a little and smiled. "You know... You should have said something earlier." Frost didn't take the time to try and figure out what she meant by that. Instead he pulled her into a forceful kiss of his own running his tongue over hers. "Okay you two... Break it up." They didn't. Author's notes: Just want to let you all know... I FEEL PRETTY OH SO PRETTY! Stop the hate... All of your muscles were stiff and you couldn't move your right hind leg that much. 'Meh, couple of days cooped up could do me good.' You thought as you snuggled deeper into the pillow Summer had given you for a head rest. 'Then again...' You thought back to the large stallion chasing you. 'Damn he had stamina...' A groan broke your thoughts. Looking down at the floor you notice Summer caked in blood. Your blood. "Hey... Summer..." Your voice was scratchy and very weak at best. She squirmed around on the floor trying sleep. Couldn't blame her she had just saved your life. 'I don't like owing favors... I need to pay off my debt and get the fuck out of here... First off treat her nice and try to work it off... Or just make her feel better about herself... I could give her some bits... I do have royal connections... How about something simple first.... She looks very uncomfortable... Wait! A pillow! Hmmm...' Looking around you didn't see any other pillows other than the ones used to reduce the swelling in your legs. You had at least four under your leg keeping it elevated. An ice pack adorned the pile of flesh and stuffing. You could go without plopping your leg to high. Removing the ice pack you slowly bend down prevent your side from hurting too much. When you reached the pillow you were surprised it didn't hurt at all. You picked the fluffiest pillow and rolled onto your uninjured side knocking the cushion to the floor. "Summer!" Your voice was barely a whisper. It hurt to barely talk. Something was wrong internally. You crawled down to the floor and slowly drug yourself the few feet to her sleeping form. Luckily the pillow was close to your hind hooves. With some difficulty you pull the pillow up to your to hooves and snatched it. Stretching back to her you gently raise her head and slide the pillow under her head. Her eyes fluttered open a crack. "Wha..." "Shhh... Go back to sleep..." Her eyes were fully open now. She sat up and looked at you sternly. "Why are you on the floor?" "I need to use the bathroom..." It was true, but you also wanted to repay her and leave very soon. "Did you do this?" She pointed to the pillow and you nodded. "Here... lie down and let me help you..." She moved over to you but you blocked her with your hoof. "No... I can handle myself..." She smiled and pushed your hoof out of the way. "Non-sense. Here wrap a hoof around me..." She pushed you onto your belly and rolled onto her own right next to you. Slowly you worked your fore leg around her shoulder. Her own hoof went under your body and helped you up. "Lean on me... When you're not strong, I'll be your friend. I'll help you caaaarrryyy on!" You chuckled and let her take your weight while working your way to your feet. Once on three hooves she held you up. She was on the left side and both of your injuries were on the right side. She wasn't gonna give much support were she was otherwise you both would hit the floor. "Can you stand on three hooves?" You nodded and she bolted to your other flank. "Okay lean on me gently, you don't want to reopen that cut..." You didn't move and she knew why. "Don't worry... We'll go step by step... You can hold it..." You chuckled again you face wasn't displaying any emotion. You could feel each one in you, deep and locked away, but they existed now. Showing any emotion was at least ten times harder than feeling it. You both hobbled down the hall to the bathroom and she guided you to the toilet. You propped against the wall and waited. Summer was standing on her hind-legs holding you steady. "Just go... I'm kinda use to this stuff..." You sighed and let nature do its thing. Summer turned her head and whistled a small tune which made you even more uncomfortable. You would be okay if you knew her way more than you did. Hay, you just met the mare last night. Once you finished she helped you on all three legs again. You brushed up against her and waited for her to guide you off to the couch. "You okay?" "What?" "Are you okay? No pain?" "Nope none... I'm feeling fine... Why?" "Well..." She pointed behind you two. Looking back you tried to find a problem. There wasn't an obvious one. "I don't see anything... You sure you're okay?" "Yeah I'm fine... You're just leaning up against me..." "You told me to do it! I don't see what you're trying to get at..." "You have a giant gash running from shoulder to flank! You’re using your cut up side!" The realization hit you. "Lay down..." She said lowering you to the ground. You laid down on your stomach. She pushed gently on your side before rolling you over. She closed the gap between you. "You really should take me out to dinner first..." Summer chuckled. "Don't look down here...." She moved her body closer to block your vision. You felt her slowly remove the wrap holding you together. Soon she reached the gauze and peeled it off even slowly. She gasped as she peeled off the first section. "What?" "I've never... Not once in my life..." "What!?" "Your cut... It's... It's going away!" She ripped off the rest of the gauze off of you. "WHAT!?" You pushed her back a little to get a look but it was hard to tell from you angle. She poked you gently, it didn't hurt. You motioned to a small hoof mirror on the sink. She rushed over to it and held it out to you. Grabbing it you held it up just in time to see the last flaps of your skin knit back together and vanish as if they never had happened. 'There isn't even a scar!' She gingerly poked were the last bit had vanished feeling for even the slightest mark. Her hoof ran up your side feeling for anything. "Amazing..." She whispered. "Could I cut you just to see if it heals? "No..." "I will just make it skin deep... Please!" She batted her eyes and made a puppy dog face. "No..." "You owe me..." "Fine... Hurry up..." "*SQUEE* Thank you!" She hugged you and trotted off. You looked at your side again. After another quick check you sat up. Then stood. 'Wait a second...' You looked down at your leg. It wasn't as swollen. "WHAT THE FUCK!" "WHAT!?" You ran out into the living room to be greeted by Summer holding a cleaver in her mouth. Then dropped it when she noticed your leg. "HOLY SHIT!" You both yell. "How are you walking?" "Why are you gonna butcher me?" She smiled weakly and picked up the cleaver. She motioned for you to follow her into the kitchen. You walk in and nudge up against her as she rummages through a drawer. She stops and looks up. "Thanks for saving my life... I don't know how to repay you in full..." She grinned. "Oh, I got a few ideas... First..." She plunged a knife deep into your shoulder. "SON OF A BITCH!!! I'M GONNA FUCKING RAPE AND MURDER YOU!!!" You screamed. She pulled out the knife and watched intently. A bit of blood trickled out and the wound closed up in a few seconds. "Huh... Cool..." She put the knife in the sink. "Okay... Now about that payment..." "Yeah... You're not getting that much anymore..." You growled at her while rubbing your shoulder. "Aww... Now that’s not nice... Didn't your momma tell you never to break a promise? Especially to a mare..." She ran a hoof along your muzzle. "Yes... She did, but I never promised how much nor did I say what I'm giving you..." "Anypony ever tell you that you have a gorgeous coat?" You nodded. "Hmm... Well I hope to be the last..." You looked back at your grey coat. You had stripes in certain areas. On your neck, Behind each knee, on your back and on your muzzle. Each had three with the middle being the longest. A cutie mark of a bear's paw print adorned your flank. It was pure black like the stripes. "What about the most beautiful set of grey eyes?" 'What? My eyes are green... Or are the blue? They are defiantly NOT grey...' She noticed you hesitate. "Hmmm... Well you do..." "Thanks... Quick question..." "Hmmm...?" "Why are you flirting with me? You don't even know me..." "Not real sure... I just... Hmmm it’s real hard to explain... It's like something is tugging at my insides telling me to follow you... I feel safe around you... This town... It's a very dangerous place, but I feel safer with you around and I've lived here most of my life..." "What do you mean lived?" "Oh! I totally forgot! I got this letter here... It arrived about a day before you did... It has your name on it." "What?" You snatched the envelope. Sure enough your name was on it. "Got a knife?" After a short pause you added. "That hasn't been used to attempt murder..." "Yeah... I got one too you know... Told me to wait on the edge of the forest... After I was suppose to give you your letter when I found you... After I gave you the letter I was to either go with you or move to a different town... I don't understand why though..." She hoofed you a butter knife which you slipped under the flap and ripped it open. A note fell out along with a slip of paper. You grabbed the slip first and held it up. It was a check, you didn't check the amount or who it was too you just set it on the counter. You picked up the letter and began to read it. Dear Friend, You may be wondering why this had arrived before you yourself had. Well, that will be answered in due time. First off I would like you to give the check, that had accompanied this envelope, to Ms. Dawn. She has been given a choice to either find a new home or follow you on your adventure. The other was to buy a new home. I do believe the check should get her a nice home in Manehattan paid off in full. She is to keep the money even if she doesn't want it. "Here it said to give this to you... Oh, don't try to give it back because it's yours to keep whether you want it or not..." "Okay..." She looked at the small slip of paper. "Holy Celestia! It's worth a quarter of a million!" Now, about this letter. I have watched you for quite some time now. I'm surprised it took you this long to reach Dune. Now that your here your real journey can begin. 'The fuck?' I bet you’re wondering why you should listen to some piece of paper you received from a random mare you never met before. Well, I'll just let you know I'm no ordinary pony and neither are you. Find the one of Light and Dark. Then travel to the top of the mountain. Which one you say? The one north of Ms. Darwin's home. Once you reach the top don't hesitate to come into my humble abode. I'm very eager to finally meet you. Oh! One last thing. You will find the stallion you are looking for in Dune. He's been waiting here a long time. He has probably forgotten why he is even living in that small town. He can't leave without you. Happy hunting! -Kat You set the letter on the counter. 'The one of Light and Dark? Who the buck could that be? Well it couldn't be a princess because it's a stallion and they don't live in Dune. Speaking of which where is Dune?' "Hey Summer?" "Yeeeaaaassss?" She was right next to you. "Where is Dune? "You're in it!" "Well that makes things ten times easier..." "Why, what do you need? I can get anything you want now!" "I need to find the one of 'Light and Dark'." "Hmmm..." She thought about it for a while. "I don't know who that could be... Does it give a description?" "I would have given you it if I had one..." You said. She trembled for a second. "Please... Calm down, you're scaring me now..." "I am calm..." Your tone had grown deathly and you hadn't realized it until now. "Sorry... I'm just a little on edge with what's happened today... First I got chased out of Canterlot. Then I got magically healed straight out of thin air. Now I got to find some stallion and go to some damn mountain..." "Did you say stallion?" "Yeah... Why?" "I think... No..." "What?" "I think I know who you're looking for... I don't know if he lives here anymore... He had a son a long time ago. His wife died two years after and no pony has seen him since..." "Who is he?" "He never said... We just called him Sir..." ________________________________________ Frost licked his lips after Dash broke the kiss. They were hovering above the ground by a few hoof lengths. "Dash... I thought you were into mares?" Twilight said. "I'm bi-sexual... So Frost... You finally grew some balls to admit it to me... I've been kinda wondering when you would ask... When you left I kinda got a little depressed." "Well... Wanna be my mare-friend?" She kissed him. "Of course..." Frost smiled. He finally got the mare of his dreams. It almost felt like a dream. He hit his side making sure it wasn't a dream. They lowered to the ground and kissed one last time. "Frostbite..." Fern scolded. "You know better than to be smooching mares in my bar." "Yeah, yeah, yeah... Cut me some slack Fern..." "No... Get your ass to work... Clean up the doors and then you can help these mares to a hotel..." "Oh that won't be necessary! We got rooms in the palace for such occasions... Sadly there is only six and there are seven of us." "Dash you could stay at my place." "Awesome!" "Jade you can stay with me tonight..." "I don’t need you pusssshin me aroound..." Jade said with a slur. "Just get your ass in the bed when I tell you... And don't you be hitting on any stallions... You got one waiting for you..." "Shuuutt it Fern. I can handle mysselfs..." Fern backhooved Jade and watched as she hit the floor with a loud *THUD*. "*Sigh* He's gonna kill me..." "Don't worry... We won't stay long..." "Twilight and friends... You will not leave without me... I don't plan on leaving for a little while so just calm down and enjoy our time together..." "You got it sugercube." Frost sighed as he swept up the doors. He listened to the conversation go on in the bar. It was kind of interesting but it didn't hold his attention to long. Dash's flank however did. 'Man I can't wait to slap the buck out of that pretty little...' Frost seized up and stood still. It felt like something was ripping his insides out. It only lasted for a little while. He stood there gasping for air. He still felt something ripping his insides but it didn't hurt. He turned around and felt it pull in the same direction no matter where he looked. 'What the buck is going on?' He questioned his sanity. The tugging in his chest soon subsided and he began to sweep again. 'Did I just have a heart attack?' Frost wondered as he tried to keep his mind off of Dash's un-slapped flank. "I really need to stop drinking coffee..." Frost mumbled. "What was that babe?" Dash stood next to him and frowned. "Nothing... Just don't feel like doing this..." "Kay well when you’re done Fern's gonna close the bar up and we're going back to your place..." Frost smiled and swept a little faster. Author's note: Sorry for the delay guys! I'll try to get chapters flowing more and more... Next week I'm gonna push one a day... I got things to do till Friday though... "I LOVE YOU WRATH, ALL OF MY HOMO!" (My Second Life by Coal Buck. Check it out!) -Dashie > And you said your name was what? > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 3 And you said your name was what? You walked into the living room and sat down on the small blood soaked couch. 'She really has some issues, but I can't blame her.' She leaned on the kitchen door frame. You looked at the wall waiting for it to fall over. "You really need to stop worrying and get up and do something. Hay, you need to find this stallion the letter is talking about." "I don't have to. It just wants me to. For all I care he could be dead. "Get off your ass..." "Nope..." "Do I need to gouge your eye out?" "What’s the point it will just grow back..." "Do I need to chop your dick off?" "Are you gonna eat it?" "Maybe..." She said sheepishly. "I'm scared now..." She burst into laughter. "Summer..." "Yeah?" "You ever wonder if you are just a speck in this world and that you never matter?" "No... But now that you say it... Yes..." You looked her in the eye and watched her wince. "I could never get use to those eyes... They are beautiful but... Celestia, those are bucking creepy in the right light..." The was a crack of light that was beaming through the window. It reflected off your eye kind of giving it a more sinister tone. "Ah buck it… Who cares?" "... I do..." "Thanks..." "I'm going to the market here soon... Do you want anything?" "I'm coming with you..." "Uh, okay..." "Let's go..." "Well actually... I was kinda wondering if you would..." "Hmm?" "Well, I really wanted to ask you..." "Yes?" "Wanna do it?" You face hoofed. "Fine whatever..." "*SQUEE*" ________________________________________ LATER THAT DAY... ________________________________________ You walked along the stands that the small town had to offer. Most of them were way over priced. You and Summer had stopped by the bank and deposited the money, then withdrew two hundred bits. You weren't willing to pay for this shitty service and quality of food. Summer was though. "You really shouldn't give them what their asking for. Hay, most of this shit isn't worth one bit..." "Oh shhh... Don't make me get the whip again..." During your little party at her house somehow she pulled a Pinkie Pie and pulled a bull whip out of thin air. You didn't even ask. "Yeah like that even hurt..." Truthfully it did hurt. Like a bitch. "Okay next on the list is some special berries... Oh! And I know just the stallion who sells them!" You rolled your eyes. This was gonna be a very long day. You followed Summer down through the bazaar and finally stopped at a rather shady stand. "Hi, Lightning!" "Oh, hey Summer. What do you need today?" "Hmmm... Actually I don't remember... I know it was a berry but I don't exactly remember which one..." "Forget your list again?" "Yeah..." You stepped next to Summer to get a good look at this fellow. He was a jet black stallion like Jade only he had a red streak in his mane. His mane was spiky sort of. He looked up at you. Your eyes sat half closed like they normally do. He shivered but you didn't think Summer noticed. You defiantly did. You didn't blink. You never had to. He shivered again and then grew a little angry. 'Trying to hide fear with anger?' You would have laughed but it was more amusing to stare into his soul. "Who's this?" "Oh, I met him outside the forest. He was in terrible condition but I nursed him back to health." You didn't move a muscle and this Lightning couldn't turn away. You had him enthralled in you stare. Something about him just didn't feel right. "You really need to find better friends..." Summer was browsing through the selection of berries on the stand next to Lightning's table. "What's your name?" You didn't answer. He growled a little. "Hey! I sad what's your name?" "He doesn't say much... But he can sure knock you flank out!" She laughed. "I would like to talk to you later..." You spoke quiet and very deathly. He shuttered. "Is that his normal voice?" Summer shrugged then grinned sort of slyly. "He doesn't talk much..." He waved you off. "Get out of here before you scare away the rest of the ponies... This maybe a hardened town but you still aren’t appealing to the eyes..." 'Bitch just called me ugly... Oh he is going to enjoy the torture he's getting later today...' Your mane seemed to slowly cover one eye giving you a more menacing look. It had a white tip in a diamond shape. You tail matched it but it was very flat and shorter than most pony's. "Oh, don't listen to him. He lets his temper get in the way." "I think I'm going to enjoy the rest of the day... May I have your full name?" "Dark Lightning... Now get outta here... Summer have those for free just get rid of this creep..." Summer laughed and placed two bits on the table before picking up a sack of berries. She began walking off. You followed never taking your eyes off Dark Lightning until he was out of sight. "Was that the stallion's colt?" "Yeah, why?" "I think you just made my day easier... First I'm gonna have a little fun with him..." You turned your head slowly waiting for the *POP* then turned it the other way. "I just feel like kicking some flank today..." "Good luck with that... He's pretty strong. I watched him take out the bartender's bouncer once... Once... Then again... He was really drunk... Oh well, he did it and that’s all I have to say." "Uhm... Okay? Anyways can we hurry I need to get out of here..." "Can I please come with you?" "No..." "Please...?" Summer stopped you and walked in front of you just to give you puppy dog eyes. Inside you cringed a bit. It looked adorable but you couldn't give one buck. "No... You're going to Manehattan..." You pushed her aside and continued down the street. "But then I won't be able to see Luna's beautiful night..." You froze at the mention of Luna's name. "No..." You said hoarsely. "But... I..." She walked up to you and nuzzled you softly. 'Oh you're good...' You felt her rub a tear on you for effect. 'Very good... Sorry Summer I don't work that way.' She walked off with a sniffle hanging her low. 'Now that wasn't a show...' "Summer..." She stopped but kept looking at the ground. Slowly you reached a hoof over her shoulder. "I don't know what to tell you... I can't let you come with me, but I'm not letting you stay here..." She whipped her head up and stared you in the eye. She was angry and had tears filling her eyes. "And since when did you become my father!?" She yelled. Ponies looked over at the scene but you brushed them off. This wasn't the first time you've seen a mare make a big scene over nothing. Amy use to do it all the time. "I don't like to see mares get hurt... I can't lose another..." You looked away. She stopped crying and nudged you. "What do you mean?" Sighing you motioned for her to follow you. "Over some coffee..." ________________________________________ Celestia hovered over the small town and smiled wickedly. She had 'visited' a few other small towns outside of Canterlot but she knew this one had to be the one. "I'll find him here..." She giggled. "Yes... Then he will pay..." Celestia slowly dropped into the small town's market. It kinda of looked like Ponyville. Small, yet very large at the same time. She walked down the street and looked through the crowd of ponies. Some stopped and bowed others got out of the way. She didn't pay any notice to them. There as something that had caught her eye. "Oh Princess Celestia! We weren't expecting you for another month!" The mayor of the town rushed over to the white mare's side. Celestia stopped and looked down at the grey stallion. He disgusted her. She knew of his wicked past. This whole town had a wicked past. "Yes, my apologies. I really should have sent you a letter. I'm just passing through the towns." He nodded and kept pace with Celestia as she continued down the street. "Is there anything I can get you while you stay?" "Oh, I'm not staying long... Actually... You can get me something..." "Anything you're highness..." "I'm looking for a grey stallion... He has some... interesting markings... Stripes... Black one to be exact and he has a paw print for a cutie mark... Have you seen him?" The mayor looked at his princess in surprise. "Princess Celestia I know every last pony in this town and I have never, and I mean never, seen or heard of this pony... But I can keep a look out for him if you'd like?" She sighed and pushed another little filly out of her way. "Yes... Please..." The mayor bowed and said his good-byes before rushing off to order the look out. 'Sometimes I hate ponies...' Her tail twitched at the thought. Sighing she opened her wings and took to the skies. 'Next town...' ________________________________________ You sipped the coffee the waitress sat down on the table. Summer looked at you intently. Killing time seemed a lot harder than it really was. It seemed like forever before Sumer finally asked, "So who was she?" You took another sip of the coffee. It tasted surprisingly good. This town was ratty as hay but at least it made excellent coffee. "Amy..." "I didn't ask for her name... Did I?" She seemed a little confused. "Anyways... Was she good to you?" You chuckled. "Some times... Yes..." You mug was almost empty when the waitress came back with another piping hot mug. "Was she pretty?" "Beautiful... Why are you beating around the bush?" "What do you mean?" "You obviously are trying to compare yourself to her... You can't... She's gone and I couldn't save her..." Summer winced. Your tone had grown deathly again. 'Colt, why the buck can't I stop that?' "You miss her real badly don't you?" You nodded and chugged the rest of your mug. "You think we could visit her grave sometime?" You shook your head. You didn't plan on dragging her along. Hay you didn't plan on taking any pony with you beside this 'one of light and dark'. 'Hold on... Light and dark? Dark and light?' You facehooved. "What?" "I'm a dumbass..." "Hey! Donkeys are relatively smart!" "It's a saying..." "I know... So why are you dumb?" "Because I need to drag Dark Lightning along with me... I don't trust him as far as i can throw him... And I don't know how far I can throw him yet..." Summer looked at you dumbfounded. "See..." She nodded. "Now, would you like to know who I was talking about?" Again she nodded. "She's my little sister... She died in my hooves... First I need to tell you what happened before she died... My mom sent me off to get some supplies from this town called Ponyville... Now I'm a grown stallion but nopony disobey's their mother... "I got to the town pretty easy it was just the next one over... But I knew something was wrong... She never sent me off without a good reason... Her and dad were fighting the other day... My two brothers didn't even notice it... Father had raised them to do as they were told and nothing more... My older sister Windy had taken Amy into her room to keep her safe... Father likes to give beatings... "I got a good one when he finally stopped arguing with mom... I hated him so much... Anyways... When I got to Ponyville I bought the things that mom wanted and I actually got invited to a party... Now every pony in that town knows that you can't reject a Pinkie Pie party... She has really good ones... "Anyways... I had my fun and even met a mare... Her name was Fluttershy and she is very shy... But damn she can go at it... I spent the next day with her and enjoyed every last minute of it until..." "Until what?" Summer asked. "Until a mailpony came by telling me that my house had been burnt to the ground and that my family was dead... I couldn't believe what I was hearing... I almost killed him... Almost... Fluttershy stopped me and reminded me to control my anger... I was more sad than angry, but still... Later that day I got led into the woods by some voice I swore I knew... When I finally got to a clearing the world seemed to go black... "In the clearing was my older sister Windy telling me to go find Amy... I told her that every pony was dead... She told me that Amy and father were still alive... I had to save Amy so I packed my things and headed out... My new friends tagged along with me to help find her... At the end of the day we did... "And that's when she died?" You nodded... "My father had set fire to our home. She was able to get into the cellar but when we got there she was in a very bad condition... I didn't know what to do... I panicked at first but Twilight kept telling me to calm down..." "Why did your dad burn your house?" You shrugged. "Never got to ask him... I hated him though... Once Amy died I left and found him a bakery... I killed him in cold blood... That's when I met Jade..." Another cup of Joe was put in front of you. "I'm not paying for that one..." "It's on the house... Please continue..." 'This mare has been ease dropping... Oh you do not know how lucky you are to be a mare... I'd slap a colt silly...' "So after a few months with her she wanted to settle down with me. I truly didn't care... My life had been burned and my dreams crushed... Well we kinda went at it for about a week... She went to the doctor just to find out that she was barren and couldn't have any foals... She got really emotional and didn't want to talk to me... "I left and didn't come back thinking she wanted some time to herself... Another little happiness in my life just got swept away like that... So I walked around town for a while then I saw the guards looking for me... Now I use to be a criminal but I had killed a stallion for Celestia's sake... So I ran... "In the forest I ran into a blue mare who I made teleport us away... I got really stressed and angry... I need something to vent my anger... So I kinda... Well I won't say, but anyways... She stopped me and I apologized, but that wasn't a good way to try and get forgiven... Turns out she kinda liked it and then we ended up doing it again... "Later she took us to her home... The Royal Palace... I raped Princess Luna..." There was around twenty or so gasps. You looked around at the crowd of ponies who had come to hear your tale. One motioned for you to go on. "I stayed with her for a few days before her sister began to take a small interest in me... So after a few orgies I stopped talking to Celestia... She was pretty much using me to take advantage of her sister... "I was fed up with it... Luna had bonded me to her and all of these emotions I gave up after my sister died tried to force their way back into me... I couldn't handle it so I went to a local bar... Turns out later that night I beat the shit out of some poor stallion and the bartender wanted me for one of her bouncers... "Luna gave me a choice... She knew I wasn't too happy... I could stay in the palace and spend time with her every so often or I could work at the bar where I would get just as much time with her... On the plus side I could drink and get rid of those bucking feelings that nagged at me... They weren't mine and it just didn't feel right... "The night after the bar incident I kinda slept with the bartender... She is a nice mare that goes by Fern... She was drunk but I couldn't say no to her... She is Jade's sister and I was stuck at the bar and Luna was suppose to pick me up... Later that night I had and an epiphany... Well more along the lines of my body beating the shit out of itself... It told me I could only choose one of my loves... "I didn't know what to do... So the next day when my friends from Ponyville showed up along with Jade and Big Mac... He's a large red stallion that works on his family's orchard..." A ton of 'Oh's ran through the group. "I found out that Fluttershy was pregnant... Along with Jade... This confused me and I got nervous again... I spent most of the day puking... "Then I left being chased by Big Mac who had a crush on Fluttershy... I told them all that I didn't deserve any of them and he didn't take to kindly to this... And that's when you found me..." You looked down at the mug of almost cold coffee. "That's pretty much my year in a nutshell... Nothing too exciting but you know..." "I feel really bad for you... You really shouldn't have left any of them..." "Yeah I know... I don't care anymore... Now that my little story is done how about we go talk to Lightning..." The crowd let out a bunch of 'Awww's. "Fine..." Author's Notes: Sorry it took so long to get this to you guys...
