> Dynasty of Statues: Released > by Mint_Chocolate_Pony > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > The Lesson > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Park of Unusual History and Statues Founded by Princess Celestia The sign had read correctly in it's stone veil. This park had some type of unusual history in it, and very few knew why. Only the three princesses know. It would've been four, but many years ago, a stallion named Shining Armor had passed away defending a place known as the Crystal Empire. The fourth princess had committed suicide for the loss of her loved one, and the loss of her castle. Crystal Ponies returned to places like Canterlot, Ponyville, Manehattan and Fillydalphia. Now, the only princesses that live on are Princess Celestia, Princess Luna and Princess Twilight Sparkle. "That sign looks something cool!" A small colt muttered, flapping his wings aggressively to fly. He had dark blue eyes, unlike his coat which was a light blue. His mane was three different shades of black, or grey. "What're we going to learn, Miss Cherry Blossom?" A light red mare pointed at the sign with a soft smile. "That's easy, Cloud Strike," she muttered warmly. "we will be learning about the history of Equestria through the statues that live here." Her dirty-blonde mane covered her ear softly and moved away from her eye with a flick of her head. "Thousands of centuries ago, before Princess Sparkle, Celestial Dance and Lunar Sky were born. Celestial Dance had dreamed of following her mothers hoofsteps, to lead and rule over the lands. Lunar Sky dreamed to follow her father's hoof-steps and assist the more powerful Godess. They gained their royal names. Celestial Dance became Princess Celestia, Lunar Sky became Princess Luna." Cherry Blossom looked at the class behind her. Many fillies chasing after her warmly with a smile. Cloud Strike flew over her head slightly. "Then they started the creation of clouds with their parents, right? Because Celestial Dance was a pegasus, her parents had her kicking clouds? That's why us pegasus gotta kick, kicking clouds what we do best, right?" Cloud Strike muttered, flying up in a circle and kicking a cloud sharply. "Partly correct, Cloud Strike." Cherry Blossom smiled warmly. "Celestial Dance was both, Unicorn and Pegasus. So she also trained to move the sun, and the moon. Lunar Sky was ignored as a child, and was forced to take care of seeds and plants, but she was good at what she did. Her family always ate well, and they had never went hungry once because of how hard she worked. She never messed up, and never could. If she did, her sister would taunt her and say that she would send her to the moon. Lunar Sky listened. One day, though, her mother had seen how terribly hard that the young filly had worked, and she, too, had deserved to become immortal. She deserved to become a real princess." "That's because us earth ponies work hard on what we do, Cloud Strike." A small fillies voice beamed from behind the teacher into Cloud Strike's ear. It was a small earth pony with a tan colored coat and a cider-y blonde colored mane. Her green eyes beamed warmly. "Not only are we good at plowin' fields, but we're good at gettin' ponies to buy our stuff. That's why I'm the top Filly Scout." She snickered warmly as the colt flew down beside her. "That's not true, Apple Cider!" Cloud Strike snorted aggressively at her, his wings tightly shutting as he fell to the ground. "Shocking is! She sells cookies like no ponies business!" He glared at the green eyes that challenged him with anger. "Since we're talkin' about No Ponies Business, why don't you stay out of mine!" Apple Cider snorted back, their hooves kicking at the dirt angrily, her eyes even more challenging then Cloud Strike's. "That didn't even make sense!" Cloud Strike shouted and spread out his wings, flying upwards again. Poking a cloud and parting it into two parts. "I'll come back down once some pony starts making sense again." He grumbled and glared down at Cherry Blossom, waiting for more lessons. "Now, now, you two." A soft voice came from behind the large crowd of ponies. "It's obvious that unicorns are the best. Without our magic, we would not have day or night!" She said sweetly, like nothing ever before. A pure white filly walked out of the crowd and poked the teacher. "May you continue the lesson, now. Please?" Her light blue mane flicked back and swirled around her neck softly. "Yes, Sapphire." Cherry Blossom smiled. "The two princess claimed their names, now. Princess Luna, and Princess Celestia. Both designed to help the days pass and help the ponies that lived on the earth. Once the many ponies were created, though, there were many problems. The pegasi hated the earth ponies constant lack of food, the earth ponies hated how the unicorns constantly bragged about their magic, and the unicorns hated how the pegasi would only clear weather when they felt like it. The princesses were in shock! They thought that the ponies would all love each other and live in harmony. There were only six things they needed for help, though. This is where we start the journey of the statues." Cherry Blossom started to walk, moving closer towards the center of the maze, near all the statues. The biggest one was of six ponies, only one of them were familiar. Three ponies on the bottom, a unicorn, an earth pony and a pegasus. "These ponies were always fighting with each other. Rarity, the unicorn. The element of Generosity. Applejack, the earth pony. The element of Honesty. Rainbow Dash, the pegasus. The element of Loyalty. Although they argued all the time, their elements in intact. They worked fine together. Apple Cider, Applejack is apart of your family. The next two, they were important parts, supporters for the group. Pinkie Pie, the earth pony. Element of Laughter. Fluttershy, the pegasus. The element of Kindness. Angel Shock is related to both of those ponies, actually. Surprise was an extremely close friend of Pinkie Pie's, and Surprise had fell in love with Fluttershy right away. The one on the top. Princess Twilight Sparkle. Her training had did her well as Princess Celestia helped her on her destiny to become a princess. She remains alive, but hidden away in the castle to keep her innocence alive. If she matures like Princess Celestia and Luna, she risks the imbalance of powers." Cherry Blossom glared at the fillies and colts as they muttered in awe. Cloud Strike flew down closer to the statue and lifted his hoof, "No!" Cherry Blossom screamed. "Don't touch it, you!" She pulled Cloud Strike away and sat him down. "You aren't allowed to touch it. Lets move on to our next statue, then, hmm?" She moved along, Cloud Strike snorting slightly. "I do what I want when I want to." He grumbled under his breath and waited for the ponies to move away, when Cherry Blossom wasn't looking, he taped his hoof on Twilight's head and flew back to the group. There was an extremely quiet cracking noise, and the statue had opened its eyes. Cloud Strike smiled softly, not seeing the eyes opening. "This next statue is about a mysterious force called the Dynasty. Nobody knows much about it, but some say its a band of ponies that almost defeated the princesses. The first one, Dream Catcher. A powerful earth pony who was able to enter others dreams and attack them, learn their deepest fears and haunt them forever in their sleep. Princess Luna was aware of her ability to do this, because she could do the same. Some nights, Luna says, that she would fight Dream Catcher off, and cause even worse nightmares for the ponies who have been haunted. That's part of the reason she stopped letting the sun come up. Luna wanted her fair time to explain to all the ponies why she was haunting them, to protect them and stop Dream Catcher. Dream Catcher was fast at her job, though. Soon ponies feared Princess Luna and despised her, causing Princess Celestia to banish her to the moon for real and heal the ponies thoughts. Dream Catcher ran free for many years, laughing and haunting others. A great stunt-pont named Scootaloo was haunted by Dream Catcher once. She wrote an important book on it, everypony had read it and it taught Princess Celestia a haunting fact that she had did wrong by sending her sister to the moon. She had stopped Dream Catcher and held her in an Insane Asylum for centuries. Sometimes Dream Catcher would enter the guard's dreams and make them go insane, too. Dream Catcher is not a pony to mess with, and she cannot be freed from this stone holder. "Next is Sharp Wing. Sharp Wing was the most devious of all the ponies. Her wings were like a princesses, sharp and pointed and constantly open. She was worse then a unicorn, always bragging about her beautiful wings. Although, some ponies say that her wings were holders of jealousy and ignorance. If another pony with greater wings came along, she would fly beside them. Those ponies would go missing, and they say that her wings would be so sharp, they would pierce her opponent and kill them in air. She would catch them and drop them on a cloud, sending them miles away and even into the darkness of reality. Where they would starve to death from the cutting of their wings being unable to get down without falling to their death. Some ponies say rain is formed from these ponies tears. Sharp Wing had once challenged Princess Luna to said race, her wings were large and glorious, and by attacking Luna she could get away with it. Princess Luna accepted her challenge, and Luna had tricked her. Using her ultimate magic, while in the air- Princess Luna had turned Sharp Wing to stone, causing her to fall down and shatter, if it weren't for Celestial Dance grabbing the statue before it had crushed, Sharp Wing could've been reincarnated. Pegasi everywhere would have been extinct. "Then, there is Sandy Shores. She was a very on time pony, and unlike her name, she was no vacation or relaxing matter. Everything had to be in place at the right time, and if it wasn't, she would have you locked away and tortured for hours. This unicorn is the meaning of arrogance. She would tell a pony to do something, and if they forgot something she would have them walk off and she would do it the exact same way. She's a hypocrite and arrogant, but very time-wise and practical. Although she could annoy any pony with ease, I wouldn't be surprised if she had killed a few ponies in those torture chambers. That might be the reason she's turned to stone. No pony really knows her story, people tend to ignore her unless they study unicorn history." Cherry Blossom sighed, looking up at the statue with worry. "Any pony have any questions?" She turned to face her class, all of them hiding slightly. "Yes!" Cloud Strike spoke up loudly. "How come we aren't allowed to touch the statues?" His hooves tapped against the ground and his eyes were half open out of annoyance. "Do they come to life or something?" Cherry Blossom glared at Cloud Strike for a few seconds. "No pony knows that for sure, Cloud Strike. We just want to make sure that nothing bad happens to them. If one were to break, who knows! These ponies could be reincarnated, they could be set free and could cause their horror to continue. Now, why don't we go off to the older statues. We can meet Discord and The Statue of Victory." Cherry Blossom smiled warmly, moving forward slightly. "I'll find out sooner or later." Cloud Strike snorted, shutting his eyes and walking forward. "What was that?" "Nothing." He opened his eyes and followed the large group by flight.
