Applejack is very kind and generous, sometimes too much. After a hot working day she offers her favourite dog, Winona, a lick of her ice-cream.

Hahaha I think is the shortest story I've seen from you :rainbowlaugh: Any I liked it :pinkiehappy:

Funny and sweet, i like it.

LOL. Short and sweet. Loved it. Doesn't ice cream make dogs sick?

Ha, that was great! I loved it. I reccomend putting this on loop while reading :P

You should like, change it so AJ has the peanut butter ice cream because chocolate isn't good for dogs, it kills them.

no, but chocolate kills them

2511633 The dog at work always eats my chocolate icecream and cookies... he seems to be fine

Just read the A/N Bear huh, now where does that sound so familiar *thinks back to a western tail*

Only specific kinds of chocolate are dangerous to them. Exactly what kinds, I have no idea.

2511633 You're exaggerating, chocolate doesn't kill dogs though it might make them a bit ill. Just give a crumb of chocolate to a dog and it will be fine :pinkiesad2:

VGI

From what I gathered, chocolates have a compound/chemical that dogs cannot metabolize - they lack a key digestive enzyme that breaks down this chemical in chocolates. So, said compound/chemical will build up in their liver. It will probably take a certain amount of chocolates (depending on the dog's weight) before said compound/chemical reaches toxic levels in the dog's renal system.

How much that 'certain amount' of chocolates is, I do not know. Probably a lot. Like, several pounds. You do not have to feed the dog that amount in one go. A piece of chocolate once in a while is good enough since the chemical stays in their system and is not consumed or flushed out.

I think they can flush it out, but with some real effort on their renal system. So if you can make your dog drink lots and lots and lots of water, and not just when they are thirsty, then great. Otherwise, it would probably be slow-going.

Then again, I am no vet. But we do have many dogs all of different (large) breeds. And our vets tell us that chocolates is bad for them. I wouldn't give our dogs any such treats. They are carnivores 100%. Feed them enough plant-based food, and it will ruin their liver.

I had to switch dry dog food brands because the one we used to get had too much corn and too little meat-protein that our oldest dog started reeking of ammonia. Our vet came and said that that ammonia stench is his liver failing. I was like, "Oh crap! So what do I do, Doc?" The vet said to get him some real meat.

Our oldest dog is a large one, able to eat several pounds of meat a day. Talk about money-drain. Then again, he was the happiest dog in the pack during those days he was having real meat.
