“Maybe I just taste sour.”
“Aww, I’m so disappointed.”
That sound like Jake O'neil. Please let Michael be based on him.
Another excellent chapter

I'm getting a major Goul'ud vibe from the bad guys myself.
Well, at least they caught Michael in time, and with the near-future events, being with Alexia is certainly a plus. My vote is Pegasus, for the record. ;) since we have no background, I have no more predictions, but we feel that his reaction so far is very promising despite the whole "herd mentality" probably having an effect here.
So finally our main contestants collide, I was hoping that magic would be able to interfere with the assimilated, however we don't believe that the mere presence of magic will be enough...
Keep going! ;)

That wasn't my original intent and I haven't seen any Stargate since forever ago. But I am a fan of O'Neil.

As I said to Sarikano i haven't seen that stuff in a long time so its just a coincidence. But I will say the parasites themselves have little intelligent.

Always good to hear

Can't say why magic doesn't interfere without a bit of spoiling sorry. (More so than the worm intelligence thing anyway.)
Sides Twilight's already angry I told Sarikano that much.
2636643 Who doesn't like him
Actually, that might be great mood booster for Loki if Michael is Jack-like. I'm not to sure about Conrad though.
Just don't bring anything Ori-related. Seriously, they killed the show for me.

Oh I don't expect spoilers at all. ;) We have our own little head-cannon going on with this. It will be interesting to find out how accurate I am.
Without revealing too much about my thoughts, I believe the methods being used are quite similar to a Borg assimilation, if a little more biological-based due to lack of technological presence.

Wasn't really thinking of the rating at the time of writing that; but looking back on it, i can see your point. So I updated it.
Glad you're liking it so far. Constructive criticism is always welcome too.

I finally caught up with everything, I couldn't keep my eyes off this story for no more than a few hours. This story is one of the best ones I've ever read and wish it was more popular, so I'm going to do that for you for a little bit. I'll inform my groups about your story and it's amazing telling about how it has one of the most exciting tales that anyone could have ever read. With it's plot twists and philosophy and the reaction from all the characters in this story, I think this is one that has to be among the top.
About this chapter now, I feel like I somehow stepped into a Transformers movie like situation where the franchise characters have to work with the government to save the world. I think the heroes have no choice but stay with these horrible military people until they save enough people and get enough exposure that they have to be treated as innocent people who are forced to fight a battle that they have to win against when it's all over. It's the only choice they have right now. Another thing about this chapter is that you're missing a word somewhere, I think it was "As I thought..." or something like that, you were missing the "I" there.
One of the best fanfics (a lot better than a lot of published fiction I've read too) I've read so far. I imagine a lot of people are put off by the first couple of chapters which is a pity, I imagine I would have been too if you weren't such a good writer.

Not exactly sure how to respond to such praise except to say thanks.
Now if only my standalone fiction on DA could get that sort of publicity.
As for the missing "I" i can't find it, sorry.
this story just keeps getting better and better!
and although im really partial to pegauses my vote is for mike to be a unicorn. alex would have so much fun teaching her! but yea, a pegasus would be a nice 2nd choice.
I'm glad to see that humans turned pony are still able to kill if needed and not just cower (probably due to the nature of earth)
Whooooo ACTION SEQUENCE, WELCOME TO THE JUNGEEEELLLL!
That was way rad. Interesting to see ponies become these Government Official Badasses, while also being totally vulnerable to the death and violence.
So, I now seem to understand just how powerful those Mions are, or at least the ones who infect. That guy was Boss Fight material, and they whooped him but good. And they saved hostages! Yay!
...Including a guy who's going to turn into a Mare since his tail appeared first. Yeah, that won't be too fun for him... Poor Mike. Now he's under the strict rule of the Government. Conrad's right. There are no rights, only privileges.
On the last note, I now understand the "Herd Mentality". That's a good idea, actually. I'm constantly impressed by these choices you make to add depth, and it really does work.
Next chapter.
Mind controlling worm-like parasites, reminds me of Stargate.
You must deliberately misspell some of your words, because, some of them are sooooo hilarious, like osculation for oscillation (kissing vs cycling in a wave form manner). Soooo funny, and not the only example.
very nice
Being in the process of re-reading this i really appreciate the small almost hidden details which help to frame latter revelations.
5709911 thats the goverment for ya.

138 weeks late, but, as he said it himself
"It's O'Neill. With two L"
Otherwise, great story so far. I'm liking both the main characters and the government agency! True, those Feds seem like jerks, but their job is to be paranoid, and we can't say they're not doing it well!!
i believe that would be regimen.
Regiment would be more like
Thompson is CIA right? Well, I kind of find it odd that he's got Alexia and Co. as combat specialists. That's not something the CIA is known for, unless I'm reading the situation wrong...
Wait, never mind; they do have combat ops in the CIA. It's assassinations they don't do; mostly because the agency doesn't like to get its hands dirty politically. Plus it's been illegal for anyone connected to the U.S. to order assassinations since Truman.
Well, now they know.
And thus three becomes four.
And this is what is wrong in many many societies. People fail to understand the declaration of human rights, they are rights, inalienable and universal. People who do not respect those rights and undermine for their selfish ideals be it for themselves or for a nation are criminals who take the steps with knowledge what they do.
It does not make it right. But it does not make it wrong decision either. But if you make such a decision then man the fuck up and do not try to convince yourself and others it was "ok".

"Oh, and because you're growing a tail instead of ears, you're gonna lose your dick and balls."
"...WHAT?!"
Gosh dang it, I can't help but feel that this character was made for this joke.
While the herd memntality made a lone pony -both mares and stallions alike- emotionally vulnerable and prone to mental instability in stressful situations, the reverse was true even in small numbers.
Corroborate is the word you want. I haven't finished reading yet, but wanted to make a note of this before I forgot or closed the page by accident.
Edit: I was a lot closer to the end than I thought (I tend to read with Chrome on split screen). I like the developments in this chapter. They feel a lot more fluid, though Alex and Conrad just feels so... false? I don't know. It just doesn't feel right to me..
