Fluttershy's Soda

Fluttershy enters ponyville in search of a soda, but when she finds a vending machine her whole day turns on it's end, and she is forced through a sequence of unpleasent events.

This is one of my favorite types of stories: an adventure that should be simple, but spirals out of control. The characters that appear feel fully realized. My only problem (if that) is that the last twist at the ending is blunted by the fact that they still have one bit for the machine left.

Hmm.. so I assume the bottle wasn't plastic. Didn't know soda machines did glass bottles.

2395460 well before plastic was made in mass production, vending machines had glass bottles (if im not mistaken, plastic bottles were introduced about 20 years ago give or take), and considering the fact that pony-dom is generally portrayed as being less advanced then us technologically (yet somehow they have turntables and high-def sound systems), one could infer that they simply don't have the means to mass produce plastic, so they use glass instead.

I really have to commend you on this excellent story. The premise was simple, but the comedic twists and turns were enough to make this story thoroughly enjoyable. Congratulations on such a well-written one-shot piece and I look forward to seeing more of your work in the future.
