:trixieshiftleft::trixieshiftright: Going to read.
Edit: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!:fluttercry:

youtube link is broken.

I like that one, but amount of she was guilty was much to big.

Good use of pathos. I really felt for Chrysalis, though I'm not usually a fan of dark fics since tragic endings are usually so inevitable. :fluttercry:

I'm in your page reading your stuff! :derpytongue2:

Nice one, comrade :moustache: Chrysalis will forever be best changeling. :yay::trollestia:

I'm going to be perfectly honest here, I'm not a fan of this story. That is not to say it is not written well or that it isn't emotional or doesn't invoke sympathy for the Changelings. In those departments, then it's pretty good.

My main gripe, I'm afraid, is that concept itself. Why? Because we've seen this story so many times before. What's happening? The Changelings are dying out and Chrysalis is dealing with her guilt and her failure as a leader, and in this case mother. All three of those things we've seen in other stories, most of the time all together. It's just been done mate.

But actually, the real clincher is the attitude taken towards the ponies in this story. Now, I personally don't mind the Changelings being portrayed in a positive or sympathetic light, but what I am sick to death of is how, almost every single time, the ponies are consequently demonized and made out to be the Changelings' oppressors and the REAL bad guys. Now it's one thing to criticize the ponies for not being as saintly as they're made out to be, that's fine, I'm okay with that, but what this story and SO many others do is simply pardon and excuse everything bad the Changelings do, make Equestria out to be pretty much on par with the Third freaking Reich and divert all the blame for the Changelings' actions onto the ponies. In these stories, it's always ALL the ponies fault SOMEHOW, and I just can't buy that. It's simply done to make the Changelings look better, provoke a knee-jerk reaction from the reader as well as a cheap shock that doesn't require a lot of depth that would be required in maybe having good and bad on both sides and making it more complex.

Sorry I went into a bit of a rant there, but you get my point. I just can't bear these cliches, however well written the story is. It's like the so many My Little Dashie and Fallout Equestria stories. Like I said above, mate, it's just been done.

I teared up a little. A nice, slightly cliche but well written story about the guilt of a mother.

Good job.
