Equestria has always been a relatively peaceful land. This all changes in the 10th century after Luna's banishment, when technology of a long forgotten civilization are found in mysterious ruins.

This both brings prosperity...and revolutionizes warfare. One particular tool of war stands out-the tank. At first viewed as an oddity, it becomes the most important combat implement within the century, right next to the use of gunpowder weapons.

Equestrians are not the only ones to make these discoveries though-but this is the least of their worries. A cult of Nightmare Moon, a god of chaos, a rogue changeling swarm, a black-hearted king, and a mysterious entity only known as WG are among the challenges that the Equestrian military's newest addition will face.

Well then that was quick. :twilightoops:
But I digress. It's a vision of the past manifested as a dream.

This brings back memories concerning an IS-3, E-100, loltraktor, and Ruinberg.

Nice cover pic. Pretty decent plot...I guess.

KV-2 and Königstiger on the cover, must read :pinkiehappy:

Must read simply because if that awesome KV-2 int he title pic. Also because I love World of Tanks.

I'm actually a part of the 20th ERAD clan of WoT North America. Are you?

2454966
Yep. It's Sevchenko.

2454698
Is there any way to improve it? Still trying to get the hang of writing this.

2454827
While I won't say exactly when, those two tanks won't appear until later in.

Well after a rocky prologue your plot and characterization are getting pretty good. You spelled tomorrow wrong once at the end of a paragraph. but i do have a couple questions.

-Where was the camera located for the opening film? how was it able to get audio from three different tank crews?
-how many rockets were duck-taped to the back of the tiger to make it go 70 kph. i don't think the Maybach engine is quite up to the challenge.

all in all, i'm interested.

2455552
Welp, thanks. Going to go correct that.
The film was spliced from several different combat cameras recording during the battle. The audio was taken from radio communications between the tanks.
And onto the Tiger, as stated it was explosively overclocking its engine, which in of itself was not a Maybach but rather a more modern engine.

Your characterization is getting better and better. Not to mention you got my TD crew about right. The only inaccuracy I see where is that Loudmouth NEVER shouted "TANK DESTROYAH REPORTING!". Not even once :(

2463523
Welp, I forgot about that part:facehoof:. Will correct that.

TANK DESTROYAH REPORTING!!!!! :D

75mms to 17 pounders... boy did that escalate quickly. XD

Ork ponies. OK.
How fast does their 6 pounder fire? because I have a Crusader, and buddy, it shoots every 2.2 seconds on the dot wit the gun rammer, and that ain't bad.

2572260
A shell every 2.2 seconds is still below an Ork's (or in this case an Ork pony's) minimal dakka requirement, so try imagining the fire rate of one of the low-tier German light tank FlaK guns (about 132 rounds per minute). That's how fast the Ork Pony's modified 6-pounder is firing its shells. Made possible in part due to ingenuity, another being the Ork WAAAGH psychic field (not physically possible? Dem orkz sez oderwize). They would have gone further, but then it would start melting the barrel even with the WAAAGH keeping it together.

Oh, and by the way, the Ork Pony crew was the idea of one of my clanmembers. I'll just leave it at there for the moment, cause spoilers otherwise.

Need to have about, 20% more King Tigers >.> :pinkiehappy:

Anyways, good work :D

2820514 No, needs more loltraktors.

I'm starting to see a distirbinf number of inaccuracies. The biggest, besides thr Tiger moving faster than a Cromwell even after a direct hit to the engine, is the fact that it's still functioning after taking a penetrating shot to the turret. If a shot made it through that armor, it woyld have to cause all sorts of damage to the interior.

2914851
The Tiger was moving slower than a Cromwell after its engine was damaged. Maybe I should have put that in instead of assuming that readers would know specifically, whoops. :twilightsheepish: But it is also implied that this Tiger is not using a conventional Maybach engine.

And the second, well it's more based on World of Tanks than real life for obvious reasons. You don't see a Jagdpanther knocking out a Tiger in one shot at near full health with a clean penetration (sans ammo rack destruction) even with its best gun. Though you do raise a valid point again. At the very least the turret would rotate slower due to damage from the spalling or (if unlucky enough) the ricocheting round. Will make some changes (been a while since I looked back at these chapters). Thanks for pointing them out.

I guess the in game mechanics thing makes sense, I'm just not used to seeing them out of the game and my brain is overriding your logic.
I will say that my biggest problems with the story is lack of diversity among the characters. I do have a hard time telling the crews and characters apart. It doesn't help that it's an array of tanks from varying countries, making it hard to tell who's on what side. (i know, WoT mechanics, but my brain still isn't accepting that.)
Two other minor things: The inclusion of that engineering unit (Since World of Tanks has zero infantry), but justifies as now we have tanks in an army. The second is the inclusion of the Changelings. No idea why, but their inclusion seems...off. I don't know what it is, maybe their involvement in the wedding, maybe the number of species already included, but I'm not sure if I like them.
The Ork Poniez, though, I love. Partly because they're fun, but mostly because they really stand out. They have that distinctive nature I wish the other crews had.
Sorry to rabble like that.

3076261
No problem at all! Those are actually some pretty useful things for me to consider.

3084160
Oh good, it didn't come across as an angry rant of some kind.
And, as I tend to do whenever I come across a World of Tanks related fic, I recommend watching the anime Girls und Panzer. It's basically World of Tanks the anime.

3084421
I actually saw the first few episodes. They're pretty good.

3084429
Yeah, the whole thing is pretty good. I've seen the whole thing. I think it does help to give an idea of what crewing a tank entails.

Oooh man, that was a kick in the flank! I can't wait to see what happens next!

"We're just friends"

SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE :rainbowlaugh:

XD

KV-2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DAT DERP!!!!!!!!!

I am still waiting on mister KV-2.

3249429

It'll be coming soon enough.

2569456 Soon we will see a KV-2. Betting on it.

TOG II: Whale, Loaf of bread, R.V. Land class galactic cruiser. There are tonnes more believe me. :moustache:

3249638
Looks like you're enjoying this fic. Much appreciated.

Hmmm...this'll be interesting. I can't wait to see where this goes.
Prologue for act two looks good!

Strange, no mention of a TOG. You can't go this long in World of Tanks without coming across one.

3293584
Wasn't there that one in Chapter 6?

3296647
Oh...whoops...
How the hell did I miss the TOG?

A lot of tanks suggested from wiki.worldoftanks.com
But it's your choice. It's just a suggestion from me.

3624876

Currently I'm staying in the tier VII-max range with tier sixes and below being more common than tier sevens. Most of them will appear is some way or another much later though.

3648332 A-44 is a Tier VII tank. Soviet, new. Others also in my list, if you can find them.

3650302
Again, everything below tier seven is going to be much more common. Much of the tier seven tanks in real life was in general quality over quantity-they excelled overall but were made in relatively low numbers compared to contemporaries. What makes the A-44 lower in priority compared to other tier sevens is because it's pretty new to World of Tanks and the fact that it's a prototype.

3651624 Yeah I know. Still, I don't know what to expect, maybe new tanks, that the readers don't know will appear, but for the American M103, it's actually real and was used, not as a prototype. I'm just pinpointing tanks that are built and are used, much like the Leopard 1, M7 Priest and the M26 Pershing.

Suddenly, ORKS OUT OF FUCKING NOWHERE!

Nuuuu!.... the tiger.. :fluttercry:
