Hmm... Well, I'm a little confused as to what exactly caused the other 5 to get sick. Were they trying to create a cure for the plague and got exposed? Or were they just the first victims?
Beyond that though, great story. I love what you did with Fluttershy's character, allowing her to develop some more confidence (At least around kids) in the past 500 years. Hope to see some more in the future!

And that's the thing, have fun with it. It won't satisfy if you didn't have fun writing it.
I very much enjoy this story. It manages to capture very well an older, more experienced Fluttershy after she's been through so much.
Is this a series now? I'd love to see more.

I must say this storyline idea surprised me as I have never thought Fluttershy to be one of loyalty to her friends and the creatures of the forest, to have a royalty ranking.
Something tells me that Rarity may get Jealous over Fluttershy...again.

The reason for events unfolding so is a bit distressing- I doubt any would like to consider the Six plagued so- but this is a beautifully hopeful handling of it.
