nice twist ill be watching
I'm afraid our friend shapeshifter bring a declaration of war between the shifter and ponies of Equestria or that its hive has been attacked by overwhelming enemy forces.
Anyway see rarity and a shapeshifter work together to understand that one of the ponies and shapeshifters can live and work together to create a new world, rich, prosperous and peaceful.
I have come to the conclusion that what this story needs most its a second chapter :3
Now to track this and only possibly ever comment again!
The writing seems fine and the premise has me hooked but I’m still rather confused about what exactly is going on.

I like it! Really, I do.
It's a take on things I personally haven't seen before, so already it interests me. I notice no glaring spelling or grammar errors, and the writing holds my interest. I will be watching this.

ok, question... what in Celestia's mane is going on. the story is good, I hardly saw any spelling errors which is always nice and all but I don't know what's happened before hand. How did all of this happen? not like it's a bad thing seeing changelings and ponies being nice to each other but it would be neat to know; and now I"m curious on what happened to Pinkie... maybe a prologue or another story would be nice to get myself more adjusted to what's happened would be nice. Other than that though, I actually really liked this story.

At first i was like what was going on, but after reading I couldn't help but to think, "And now I know." This story is most interesting than some of the stories I've read up till now on the changelings. Most were romance stories, some were dark and most cruel in the story, and some would have it's on twist; this is the first one I've read to come with mystery. I'm still curious on Pinkie Pie's case with the changelings, Rarity's new assistance, how some of the other main 6 are dealing with the new changelings, and what just has me nipping at the butt on this is,"Who's the new voice inside the guards?" is it Queen Chrys? If so is she nice now or just manipulating the ponies? 
the mystery.... but I leave it to the writer and your story to answer my questions; perhaps my questions will soon be answered with some upcoming chapters to be seen

So Rainbow got arrested (implication of being aggressively anti-changeling), Applejack is a confirmed insurgent, Pinkie is a changeling, Fluttershy helps in their nursery, and Rarity doesn't seem to care one way or the other. Twilight is probably a commander/leader of the insurgency, she certainly seems the type, and Pinkie's refusal to have purple balloons implies some rather strong animosity towards her; I'd also guess that Twilight is the "she" Pinkie was referring to, except
really doesn't seem like Twilight's style, she wouldn't use a shovel when she has so much magic at her disposal.
So the tally is 2 for, 1 abstaining, and 1 (probably 3) against. So much for the Magic of Friendship.
I have to wonder who "the ruler" is.
I was going to guess Applejack somehow became Queen of the Changelings, but apparently not.

If she led the assault on the nursery, why would she say that? She knows better, she's seen Fluttershy take on a dragon (among other things). This looks like she intentionally gave her cohorts bad intel like she was trying to undermine their efforts, but later actions certainly suggest otherwise.

I wrote this chapters in a rushed flash of inspiration, and boy does it show.
Though to be fair, she probably meant 'physically' weak and told her cohorts that as long as they outnumbered her and didn't look in her eyes, they'd overpower her. She wasn't expected Fluttershy to attack them directly.

ok, Celestia being killed is one thing I was already confused about, but now Cadence? How did that happen and how is Shining taking it? And the feelings I get from this story are trying to make me completely over look one side than the other. In protests I always listen to both sides and would try seeing where the argument is and such, but this... it's making me just look towards one side and you know what, the changelings are winning in this case. Hopefully in time I get to find out all the details of this story. Till then, lets see how much deeper the rabbit hole can go

Interesting story, but I wonder how it all started.
I am not sure do I fell fine reading story where Twilight and Applejack are the bad guys, even after what happened on the wedding, Twilight would never take so hostile action, especially if it would be risking Fluttershy live, not to mention it would be disobeying her mentor Celestia who signed peace treaty with Changelings, I think Twilight and AJ in this story are out of character ( RainbowDash getting arrested for small violence again Changelings seems legit, but AJ and Twilight would never lead open attack on the hive, especially again young ones ).
Celestia killed, Cadance killed, no word about Luna, Twilight being murderer, this story got far to weird for me and cruel for me, first off, with Celestia and Cadance killed by Chrysalis, Equestria or would be at war with changelings or would never agree to sign any peace with them, and Twilight would not try to murder her friend.
Oh, now this is getting good. I was originally skeptical of whether Twilight would actually do such things, but with Celestia and Cadance now dead by Queen Chrysalis's hooves, I can definitely see where she and AJ (and the rest of the Insurgents) are coming from. Also, very nice with the whole back and forth thing Rainbow has going on with her questioning her own loyalty--that "potential" in her personality is something not as often explored as it could be.
