The night Naruto stole the Scroll of Seals, he quickly learned the Shadow Clone jutsu and moved on to the next one listed. At the same time, in another universe, a filly Twilight Sparkle is trying a spell that would summon a friend. Jutsu and spell collide, and Naruto suddenly finds himself in Equestria. While he waits for Celestia to find a way to get him home, he's gotta make the best of this new world he's found himself in.
As years pass, Naruto becomes more and more accustomed to his life in Equestria. Until Celestia turns their peaceful lives on their heads by sending them to Ponyville. Sure, he agrees that Twilight needs to make more friends, but did she have to send them to a town full of crazy ponies?!
And why does Twilight keep talking about this "Mare in the Moon"?

Oh man, I completely forgot about Friendship Contract. I did enjoy that one, one of the few Naruto fics period that didn't make me hate Sasuke. Thanks for reminding me about that one
Just a few things I thought I should point out:
1. The first hokage's name is Hashirama, NOT Harashima.
2. The Kyuubi being Narutos dad soured the story for me, but since it'll likely have no major impac on the rest of the story, I'm willing to look past it.
3. This story needs a Crossover tag.

1) Man, I did that on my last fic too, kept calling Shining Armor Shinning Armor :P Thanks for the catch, will fix that in a second.
2) I guess I didn't make it clear enough in the story, but the Kyuubi is not Naruto's dad. I was playing the Kyuubi as a more manipulative and calculating sort at this point. He told Naruto that entire story to try and get Naruto to release him. The Fourth is still Naruto's father.

As far as the romance tag goes, there will be some, but I can't say for certain if Naruto will end up with anyone (or anypony in this case). I'm trying to handle the romance true to form for the manga/anime, so while there will be mares interested in Naruto, he is going to remain mostly oblivious

It probably wouldn't hurt to have the final romantic epiphany simply happen at or near the end, so the story feels more complete and you don't have to worry too much about it. Making them romantically involved early takes away from a lot of funny and awkward situations you can possibly have in this kind of story, but having it not happen at all can leave readers feeling cheated or going 'soooo... what happened?'
I love this. Two of my favorite show icons in one story. I think the intro for introducing Naruto's backstory was necessary considering this is an mlp site. So some people may not entirely remember or know much of Naruto. I'll definitely be looking forward to seeing MOAR!!

That was my thinking. I didn't just want to start the story right after the Mizuki fight because it might have confused people who aren't huge Naruto fans, but also it threw off the whole narrative of the story. Ponyville ought to be fun

I agree the Naruto-intro may have felt a bit long, but I still think it was necessary for the overall narrative of the story. I already broke it up to try and reduce the bloat, but the story didn't read as well to me otherwise. Imagine reading Harry Potter, where the first chapter starts with him getting sorted into his house.
As far as the whole romance thing goes, have no fear! I despise those horribly vague Harem-anime endings where nothing gets resolved. Naruto will end up with somepony (or someponies?

Very good story start. However, there is one minor thing that threw me off: "land of Hi no Kuni" From what I understand, Hi no Kuni means land of fire, so you said "land of land of fire." I am a naruto fanfic fanatic, and reader of the wiki, so I've picked up a few words and phrases.

I actually did know the translation for Hi no Kuni, but for the sake of that passage I went with it anyways. As you'll notice as I go, for the most part I'll use the translated names of Naruto things (Shadow Clone vs Kage Bunshin, Transformation vs Henge, etc), so in this case I was saying the actual name of the country was Hi no Kuni. Thanks for catching it either way!

I read that one a while back, right around the time Trixie showed up I believe. Looked and there's more updates, but I can barely remember it so I'm going to have to read it all over. I remember it being decent, so it should be fun. As far as the "calm, collected, smooth casanova" bit, a lot of the Naruto/MLP (or heck, Naruto fics in general) I've read characterize Naruto like that. I think they were all on fanfictiondotnet though, I can't remember seeing any here. I'm not against those fics, but I wanted to write a fic where Naruto is Naruto.

It has been weeks since the last update, no wait a minute, months.
This sucks. One of the few Naruto/MLP crossovers that stays true to the characterization of everyone, and the only one (that I've seen so far) that doesn't have Equestria being aware of Naruto's world. While there are other crossover fics I like, I still can't help but wish that they weren't so connected because it makes it seem less unique (I can't really describe it).
And it's dead.
