Awesome story bro :rainbowkiss:

I was expecting a dog day afternoon parody...

This was great! Very funny and cute :)

Pretty cute. Don't know why this hasn't gotten more views--people tend to love this stuff.

Well, it's added to Twilight's Library now. Maybe that'll add a few views...

Great story! It made my day start with a smile!

Not quite my cup of tea but very cute nevertheless n_n *thumbs up*

Excellent story, really brightened up my day.

Thanks everyone who's read this thus far. I feel like this is one of my better stories and I'm also glad to see as many likes for it. The next one should be out soonish.

Great story, keep up the good work. :pinkiehappy:

You know, I didn't like this story too much but it's really sweet, so sweet I think it's literally impossible to hate it.

WOW. The ending is so touching. Go Derpy! :derpytongue2:This story is so good, it would probably make a REALLY good episode! And you even wrote a letter to Princess Celestia. I wish I knew how to animate, cause I'd animate this ASAP! The ending is so touching...

Very kind words, thank you for reading through it!

Great story! So touching and sweet, with just that right amount of push to drag me into it. Now I have to go read the rest of your stuff :twilightsheepish:

You may be terribly disappointed, I feel like this was the better of things I wrote.

Well, I'll be honest with you. I expected to throw things after reading this story. I expected to be entirely unhappy with the way you handled the race and have to explain to you the difference between sprinting and long-distance running, er, flying. And while you still seemed to think Dash was equipped to handle endurance flying (here's a hint: she's not), that ended up not being much of an issue.

Instead, you focused on character development and the relationship between Derpy and Dash. It was almost as if you knew you didn't know much about racing, so you chose to go at it from another angle. And for that, you have my eternal gratitude. Instead of throwing things in a fit of rage, I found myself having quite a decent time reading this story. It was solid story, overall, and very sweet.

The running of the leaves was something of an endurance race though, right?

Either way, you're quite correct. Generally I try to put more of a focus on character and story and put just enough into what they're going through. Of course I say try as I make a mess of that sometimes, but no one is perfect. Except for Mark Hamill.

I'll remind you she got last in that race. I'll also remind you that Twilight got 5th after reading a book. That should say something about the level of competition, no? :duck:

You have a point, though it seemed as it drug on that it was more a tunnel visioned need to beat Applejack by that point that a need to win the race. I simply meant it as it wouldn't be too far flung for a competitive Dash to enter a race of any sort.

At the end of the day though, I'm glad you didn't feel the need to fling things and that you found the story pleasant to read. To me, that's what matters most.

Oh, it's not Dash entering a race that has me getting all riled up. No, I think she would try something like that. Rather, my issue is her succeeding in that race.

In any event, now I have all these things ready to be thrown and their initial target escaped... :trollestia:

There's always terrible fics laying about that go with things unthrown and uncommented upon.

2558476
Oh, believe me, I know of such fics. :trollestia:

So, what place did they come in?

If there was a place after dead last then that's where they would have come in at.
