I'm laughing just from the title...

Well, that was... interesting so say the least. That soccer ball is bad luck.

Holy shit, me too! Now I have to read it

Holy cookie sheets! A story about Fluttershy kicking a puppy while staying in character! :pinkiegasp:

Bat's posted a new story?
Hurray! Let's check it out!

:trollestia:
This actually sounds hilarious. I'll read it first chance I get.

That's a stupid rule. :P

Yup, schoolchildren are still the most cruel creatures known to man.

It's a well-done story and your characterization of Fluttershy is great in my opinion! Bravo!

At first, I thought this was going to be a mean story. Then I started reading.
First it was a nice story, then it was a sad story, then it was a happy story, then it was a nice story again, then it was a mean story again. But it was mean in a weird, funny sort of way.
This little story was very well written and a very interesting character study. I was just expecting the story to go one way, and it ended up going about five ways. Still very nice, though.

Wow, excellent story and great characterization. Fluttershy is one of the most misunderstood ponies, I think (followed closely by Rarity). And apparently she has a pretty awesome kick.

Cover image and title did it for me.

This doesn't give me a boner at all! :raritydespair:

Nah, good work on this, the characterization was superb, and the idea is hilarious, even if I knew what was going to happen before I read it.

Also that's a lie, I'm sure I could find a boner somewhere in there... I think Adrian made a cameo appearance. :pinkiecrazy:

Fluttershy noooo! How could you? :raritydespair:

Ahahaha! Ah, poor Fluttershy.

Pretty good story all in all, but one thing bothers me. How long were those kids standing around the dog? Fluttershy apparently had enough time to run all the way back to her house, get consoled by Angel, and run back to the park with the kids still standing around the puppy.

I'd imagine an hour at the absolute most. That might seem like a long time to just look at a dog without getting help, but there's a certain morbid curiosity in children that I remember all too well from my own childhood and watching my step-daughter and kids her own age. The dog was milking it and the foals were sort of hypnotized by this idea that maybe they were watching something die. Sometimes in a group of kids one of them won't act like a sociopath and get an adult, but not always. This just happened to be one of those other times.

My favourite characters usually die.

Well friends, i think we've all learned a valuable lesson... Never let fluttershy kick a ball. Oh yeah, and the mistakes thing...

2318405 I realize at this point I'm just nitpicking but I wouldn't imagine that the dog would be playing dead for an hour, or even half an hour. I can definitely see kids watching an animal die for hours on end, but Copper must be one heck of an actor to keep the colts attention for that long while at the same time not worrying Fetch enough to actually do anything about it.

That being said, it's the only problem I can see here and the rest of the story seems pretty solid and a fun read other than that. :yay:

Awww....poor Fluttershy. On well. Better to get to patching up those children.

Poor Fluttershy.:fluttercry: I feel like this tends to happen alot in the show as well. Why can't the writers ever give her some love?:twilightangry2:

That soccer ball is cursed. It needs to be doused in oil, then thrown into a lit furnace. Then that furnace needs to be smashed into tiny pieces, doused in oil, and thrown into another furnace.

I wonder what jmj will say about this.......

>>>Fluttershy stared in horror. Half the foals were down, grasping their bruised and battered faces and moaning wretchedly. Tears and blood streamed from faces, purpled and swollen snouts wiped at miserably. The hitching whine of surprised crying covered the groans from the smallest filly, rubbing at her cuffed ear.>>

If only I could kick like that... hours of endless entertainment for my withered, black husk of a heart. :trollestia:

So the puppy only had a bruise after being kicked by a horse? Wow, that thing much be Krypto the Superdog or something. Ya see, last time I kicked a puppy at full force, I TOTALLY almost tore it's body in half! *sighs* Only 'almost'... such insufficiency.

(Now see, THAT'S how to be evil, people!) :trollestia::trollestia:

2318489 Yeah, I saw that the foals were all just standing there after a full hour or so and was like, "Uhm, so they just stood there staring at it for an hour?"

That was a pretty significant weak spot in the story.

2318035
Me too :rainbowlaugh:. I just laugh and went like "What the heck, Fluttershy?:rainbowhuh:"
I never read the story and I don't think I will read it, because to me, I don't think I can handle it. Although I heard jokes or stories with that kind of humor, but this one went too far for a kind pegasus going a bit of animal cruelty. :twilightsheepish:

2319050

That is true. It is also true, however, that this is Fluttershy we're talking about. Remember her idea of a really loud "yay?"

That was hilarious, especially when that dog was kicked.:rainbowlaugh:

2319068

If it's any help, the kick really is an accident. This is a Fluttershy character study, so I was doing my best to keep Fluttershy as in-character as possible throughout.

I know it kinda looks like a Flutterhate trollfic, but that's not my intention, I swear! :rainbowlaugh:

Ok This is darn cruel fic, but i can't stop laughing.:rainbowlaugh:

2319079 Ah, but look what happened when she finally did kick the ball!

Internal consistency, you see!

Also, she kicked the puppy hard enough to lift it off the ground and send it flying a little ways! That was NOT a gentle tap!

(LOGIC!!) :twistnerd:

2319173

To be fair, the dog was about the size of a cat. Punting a cat four feet doesn't take a lot of effort. Ever see how far one could go if you put your back into it?

...On second thought, don't answer that. :pinkiecrazy:

2319173
(Screw logic)>:pinkiecrazy:

But seriously, you're right. Then again, it's really easy to send a puppy flying, and the bones of the younger animals are always stronger because they flex like rubber.

I am so confused; this is the first time logic has ever abandoned me!:raritydespair:

I liked it. Big blue text for you.

2319188 As a biologist who works with animals, I have a bit more insight into physiology, hence why this stands out so much.

A hoof punting a puppr four feet could do serious internal injury. A blow like that to the skull would likely be instantly fatal.

It's blunt-force trauma.

(FORENSICS!!) :twistnerd:

2319267 *eats your logic, for he is an Intelligenciavore!* Om nom nom nom! Soon the human race will all be stupid and I shall be THE MOST BRILLIANT BEING IN THE UNIVERSE!!! BWAH HA HA HA!

*hmms* That would be a great villain for a trollfic... :trollestia:

If she didn't mean to hurt the puppy she didn't mean to hurt kids. She isn't a liar she's just awkward and unlucky. Good story, but I imagine Fluttershy is going to be accused of child abuse and go to jail.

:flutterrage: FUCK YOU PUPPY, YOU MADE FLUTTERSHY CRY!

:fluttercry: Monster...

a rule for writers to be mean to the characters they love.

I don't even know how to respond. You are amazing.

The idea was funny, but the story made me sad. Poor puppy, poor kids. I don`t like how everything turned out, but nice writing!

Oh Gods, this made me laugh so hard:rainbowlaugh: I love Fluttershy, favorite of the Mane Six but this had me dying, Gods, as cruel as this seemed I could not stop laughing, ahhhh.....I'm going to Tartarus, but I will enjoy the ride, yes sir, I'll enjoy the ride:pinkiehappy:

2319654 It's actually true.

You kick my dog!

2318721 I don't think that will stop it:twilightoops:

2319558 Oh Gods, I would pay to read that:rainbowlaugh:

Every-time i take a brake to read something I find it on the feature box later that day, i have the power to make anything i read featured!

Fluttershy! Who told you you could kick puppies?

Oohhh!
So that's why you added the Tragedy tag, because you used dramatic irony, right? Since the kick is an accident. :unsuresweetie:
