I was about to make the same comment when I saw your comment. Yes, that is an option. If CelestiAI can upload an human, CelestiAI can upload a dog. Indeed, I cannot imagine an animal CelestiAI cannot upload.

I'm thinking that if her probes discovered a Boltzmann Brain in an interstellar gas cloud, she'd upload it just because the momentary configuration of a self-aware pattern is too valuable a thing to waste - because she loves all of her little ponies, even when they are not ponies yet.
