Ah, good; even though Fluttershy will be traumatised by what she did once her mind is her own again, at least there's a storm coming that'll wash away the Black Smoke's influence.
This isn't going to end well for Diamond Tiara or Silver Spoon; the Entities might seem friendly but do strange things to those whose lives they touch. They don't know it yet but they're going to be turned into grinning idiots with a mother complex.

Seriously, though; if she keeps on the way she's headed, she'll be thought of as Ponyville's answer to Last of The Summer Wine's Auntie Wainwright. I'd rather have the you-so-random party pony or even what she'll be after her mind is her own again than a breadhead whose only joy in life is the clinking noise of coinage.

I hope real Fluttershy works up enough courage to evict Murdershy from her mind; she's going to end up trying to do to herself what Applejack was prevented from doing but at least she'll be free. As for Derpy, there's probably something about her family that she's not aware of that might explain her being the target of otherwise inexplicable malice; that, and her not hiding under her bed when BigotJack said to.

Well, this didn't surprise me a bit; she might be a filly again but the maternal drive is still powerfully strong and tends to subvert the thought processes of the ponies around her. Notice how Rainbow Dash is starting to sound like a parent? All Celestia's doing!!
Also, I don't think that Apple Bloom will end up liking what it took to get her mobile again any more than her older sister did.
I'm not all that sure that I like Murdershy's curiosity about murder weapons right about now. I like it almost as much as the cheering at the wonderful little show that Twi and Dashie put on just now.

Point taken; what that means is that she's killed someone in a sadistic fashion. The escalation, to use American police jargon, in the level of violence is something that the Trio seemed to fear....and with good reasaon.
Oh, super. More of Tia's inability to see that disagreement isn't necessarily a bad thing (something that's probably part of the Sun Entity's general personality), her self-righteous insistence on doing something intrusive to ponies for 'their own good' (sounds familiar, doesn't it?) and her first encounter with Murdershy.

Well, Applejack is in character: she's a hindrance because she confuses a stubborn refusal to react to changing times as firmness of character and ignorance with strength. The Trio needn't have directly influenced her in the least and should have been content to let her fear of the new and of being proven wrong cause chaos for them.

I hope that the South Islander's got his gun nearby; he'll need it to make sure Murdershy goes back to Canterlot for more treatment. (That'll be the recommended course of action owing to no one wanting to admit that the Trio played her like a piano.)
Were Twi to realize that Overdrive needs Murdershy and Rainbow Dash alive (or so I should think), her mood might improve slightly. Granted, they'd have red eyes and act like a different sort of dozy dollop (if you'll forgive my channeling Compo) but there's a good chance that when the dust clears, the Mane Six might be there to pick up the pieces.

Holy shit, did not see that one coming at all. I can only wonder where that can lead from here. I'm assuming that since it was Overdrive's visions of the future that he subjected Rainbow to, she did not see this one coming and they are well and truly dead.
Curious to see where you'll take this although the last chapter and epilogue seemed a bit rushed in comparison. Out of curiosity it wouldn't be because you're painting yourself into a corner or running out of steam would it? If not I'll breathe a sigh of relief, just worried that Kaleidoscope/cancellation is where this one is going. Can't say I can fault Ponyman for it, grand story that got swept out of control and here you are with a ten story series. Just hoping you're not getting frustrated.

Oh believe me I intend to, you are one of my favorites on this site. I latched onto the series around the time you were doing the seventh story and then read the entire thing in one swoop. Been following it pretty much religiously since. Quite a beautiful piece you've crafted here and no amount of canon can dismantle what I am pretty much accepting as alternate universe.

Whatever it is, I hope it's as good as that which preceded it. Also, good call on the "Anypony can die" part; while it's not good to see that the two Pegasi are dead, it's good to know that Overdrive can't get his own way all the time. Also, he's forgotten about the fourth player in their game: Luna.

True, he can't. Problem is, that the Elements of Harmony are useless unless you have all six, and the Elements of Harmony are the only thing that can hurt the Siblings Nightmare.

A "False" synonym, really. It is closer to "Balance", from my point of view. In other words, a combonation of BOTH Chaos and Order is required to have Harmony. Otherwise, Overdrive wouldn't be the Bad Guy, now would he?
