Is this a crossover with the Tales Of games?

I read this on Fanfiction.net and, when I saw this update, automatically went, :pinkiegasp: "YES!" I was wondering if you'd put it here eventually. Immediate fave.

2237773
in that case I'll keep my eye on this.

2237789 I'll be putting up another Phase before going to bed.

Hu now we need a good turn based stragity pony game! :pinkiecrazy: and we're have the fields covered! :pinkiehappy:

I'm getting a Tales of the World vibe from this. Was that your intention?

Not that I'm complaining.

This is a pretty accurate way that a game is set up like.
I like this.

Thus it begins, i remember reading this on Fan Fiction, and i must say that i am very glad that i'm rereading this, the opining is rather interesting and it makes me wonder if we will find out more about Vale and her life before coming to Equestria, the battle was also a good introduction to what the battle scenes will be like, and i must say that i was surprised to find out that Emma is red (I always thought she was blue), either way this is a great start to a great story and i hope it will do better over here then it did on the other site.

Reading this story kinda feels like you are actually playing or at least watching someone else play a Tales game, though that is the point, also something about Celestia's explanation doesn't feel right with me, though that is probably just me reading to much into it :twilightblush:, either way i can't wait for the next chapter.

Yep, real Tales of the World vibe here. Again, no complaints here.
Maybe you could show the other dialogue options, as opposed to just the best options?

Well this has been another great chapter, i don't know if i said it the first time i reviewed this chapter but i must say that the Condor was a good choice for the first boss, also i want to confirm that i remember this right but there are points in the story that Vale can raise or lower a character's opinion of her, such as what seemed to happen with Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash in this chapter, also i have to agree with Aki_Iokua about showing the other dialogue options, though i completely understand if you can't do that with the chapters that are being reposted here, but you might want to think about that in future chapters since it would give you more of the "Playing a game" feeling, but if you don't want to the just say why and i will forget about it.:twilightsheepish:

2269496>>2269665 I was debating doing that, showing the other available options. My only reason I didn't was because I would then feel compelled to write alternate chapters to show other routes. But if you still want that then I can add that. It WOULD make the story feel more like a videogame.

2270738
Well it is your choice if you want to or not, but if you do decide to show the other available options, and feel compelled to follow up on them, then maybe you could show what could of happened with some of them at the end of the chapter in a Omake like seen as extra or bonus scenes of what could of happened, though if you do decide to do this i would just like to give you a heads up that most Omake's are often comedy based scenes, though there are those that are not. (I think)

2268001 I'm curious, what part about her explanation feels off? I just wanna know in case you hit a major plot point. (I will not reveal anything)

2272000
I don't know, it just feels too straightforward, it makes me think that there is more to both the story and the Element of Chaos then what Celestia is telling them, after all chaos by it's self is just chaos, it's neither good or evil, just like order is just order, though all this is just me being suspicious,...though when in a Tales game has something ever been truly straightforward. :trixieshiftright:

2272550 Yeah... you have played a few of those games, haven't you?

2272967
Yep, I have played, Tales of the Abyss, Tales of Symphonia, Tales of Graces, and Tales of Legendia, and I plan to get the next one when it comes out :pinkiehappy:

Sorry about this being late but for some reason it never alerted me about your reply.

Well it's very nice that you have also put down the other dialogue options, as opposed to just one's Vale chooses in this play through, i have even went back to some of the earlier chapters and looked at them and i must say that they are very interesting and even makes me wonder what would of happened if they were chosen, but of course that is way to much to ask and in truth i think i would rather just leave it up to my imagination anyways, through i must say that they do make this feel more like a game. good work:twilightsmile:

Well this was a great chapter, i enjoyed how the dungeon was built and how they had to go through it, we got to see a little bit of what Applejack's personal plotline will be like, which from the sound of it is coping with Granny Smith's death, and i must say that i very much liked the boss, maybe we might get to see another version of Gigas latter in the story, also the dialogue choices with going back to the Library or going with Twilight make's you wonder what changes would of happened in the story, though for stuff like that it's best to wait for new game +.

It's...A very interesting idea.... But with it written like a game, it's very hard for me to read, to understand at times, and makes everything seem very unrealistic and horribly cliched (However that's spelled). It's also very.... How to describe it... unfluid like? It seems like they do one single action. Then pause. Then do another single action. Then Pause. And it goes like that, on and on it seems. I don't know, I just can't read it, not my kinda story. Sorry x.x :fluttercry: :unsuresweetie:

2831952 Oh well, I can't please everyone. I'm probably still going to continue with it, even if no one really reviews it, because I want to know how it ends. Sorry if you didn't like it.

Finally got the chance to read this stor- I mean play this game! I really like the concept and I'm very interested to see where the story is going. Definitely keeping my eye on this one! :pinkiehappy:
Back to the adventure! :rainbowdetermined2:

I think I play Zelda a little too much because when I read "Element of Courage", the Triforce clicked into my mind. :derpyderp2: Then again I haven't played any of the "Tales" games so what the hay do I know? :derpytongue2:
That boss battle was pretty intense! I thought that Condor was going to take out Twilight for a second. I'm glad the battle ended when it did, because I don't have any revive items in my inventory yet.
Oh well, back to the adventure! :rainbowdetermined2:

This was a great chap...I mean level! I liked the layout of the dungeon and the puzzles that gave purpose to expanding the size of it. I also liked the inner struggle Applejack was facing, it gave some really nice depth to her character. And the boss, oh dear lord that thing was challenging yet fun! Good thing the game was generous enough to give me Life Potions or I would've been screwed.

What is this a crossover of?

7005546 It's a crossover of MLP and the Tales of series of videogames. It's designed to read as if one is playing a video game like Tales of Symphonia. In fact, all of the songs (unless specified) are from that very game.

All music is from Tales of Symphonia unless specified otherwise.

Favorite game ever! Thanks Sapphire :pinkiehappy:

This game would be amazing to actually play :rainbowkiss:

Resisting the urge to say "eeeyup" you just nod.

Me everyday

"What... but... Argh! WHY ARE YOU HERE?" Emma shouts, shocking everyone (Yet Pinkie Pie is still smiling for some reason).

OMG! That literally takes me back lol. I remember a skit so similar to that and about choked on my muffin :rainbowlaugh:

7005665
And that's awesome. Like I said earlier, my favorite game... though I have on my GameCube :derpytongue2:

"It's been two years since I gave Luna authority over raising the moon," she says to herself, "If things go the way I expect them to, I might need to trust her with the sun as well. My dear, beloved Twilight Sparkle, stay close to the Guardian, no matter what."

I detect a hint of Daybreaker. Go for it

I need to get back to this story one day. I still remember all of the plot twists I have planned too.

Do it!!!! It'll be epic. If you need characters, lemme know :pinkiehappy:
