Midnight Rambler

I spend way too much time writing about writing, and way too little time actually writing.

T

Trixie has taken over Ponyville and sealed the town in a giant forcefield. Princess Celestia is in Saddle Arabia for important diplomatic talks, so it falls to Princess Luna to deal with the crisis. She immediately sends the Royal Guard to liberate Ponyville, but this task may be harder than it seems.

Many thanks to the Pony Fanfiction Thread in general, and JapaneseTeeth and CDRW in particular, for prereading this.

5279299 It most definitely is! It's a bit slow, though.

Also, congratulations: you made the first comment on this story since the reboot!

And looking at your avatar, might I interest you in membership of our terrifically Teutonic, proudly Prussian group, The Elements of Germany?

Interesting setup. Already, I think I can see where you're going with this. Considering the length of the setup and the wide range of the cast already, I would guess that we're to assume that the training Twilight received at Zecora's hooves took quite a bit longer than the 22 minute runtime of the show allowed.

Or, at the very least, it will involve a complicated, multi-step plan that spans across chapters to cover all that must happen for the plan to come to fruition. Or, as another event, Zecora turns the amulet over to them and further shenanigans happen.

On to the next chapter!

Interesting. Looking forward to getting my teeth into the next chapter.

I think at least one of my suppositions from the prior chapter is accurate as to the ultimate direction of the story. That's a lot of viewpoints to cycle through to keep up with all parts of the story that are going on.

Five years between Luna's return and "Magic Duel"?:rainbowhuh:

Any significance to Trixie not inflicting any casualties yet this time?...

And I'm finally, properly caught up. Excellent work fleshing out the narrative with just a few wholly new scenes along with some other expansion and description. Onward!

So this is how Equestria ends.

With a family squabble.

Don't want to harp on what's already been harped on. Just going to say, if Celestia doesn't think Luna's up to ruling, maybe she shouldn't have ignored Luna's request for advice on handling a rebellion, no matter how sensitive those trade negotiations supposedly were.:facehoof:

this story features a ton of OOC behavior and a lot of logical failings. Like why didn't Trixie use the fact she had a town full of hostages to stave off the invasion
