Moonrise

T
Source

Far ahead in the future, Twilight wakes with a start - she had a dream. The dream was that of the old days, when the mane six were still together, the days that are now just a smudge in the history books, long gone and long forgotten. As Twilight prepares for her royal duties, the memories of her past eat away at her, remembering it piece by piece. How does the newest alicorn reflect upon those lives which she drastically diverged from - all part of her 'destiny'?

Yeah, I do wonder sometimes if, maybe, that was the motive. Celestia is a pony, as fallible and as selfish as any other. Sometimes, we persuade ourselves that the darkest, dirtiest and most reprehensible crimes are acts of selfless and all-embracing good... because that's the only way we can stop ourselves from eating a bullet.

I wonder... I just wonder... if Twilight can forgive Celestia for her presumption... or whether the only thing she will be able to do is give the older alicorn justice?

A genuinely sad story filled with the memories of good friendship and good friends. Thanks for sharing this fine work with us!

Well, golly, thank you! I've been in a writter's block for quite some time now, about a year, or so - so I just forced myself to sit down and write. And, well, this is the result! I almost added another scene - maybe I'll make a sequel or similar story at some point. Anyway, thanks for being the first comment on my new profile!

You should make a sequel, each chapter about there death. How they died, and what there last words were.
THE BUCKING FEELS HAVE BEEN BUCKING BRUTALY MURDERED!
