Twenty years have passed since the emergence of a new species in Equestria. Hailing from a land across a rift, these ‘humans’ as they called themselves, arrived brining peace and prosperity to the ponies of Equestria. Though two years later, everything changed. The rift holding the two planets together started to decay. Many of the humans tried to escape, hoping that they could reach the rift before its final departure. Just a few short hours later and the rift collapsed, severing the two planets from contact. With no viable means of survival, the humans turned to the benevolent goddess that had helped them years ago, establishing a permanent place in the heart of Equestria. But for most humans, they saw this as a chance to gain what they desired most. Power. With the advances in technology and several experimentations, the humans discovered a way to suppress a unicorn’s magical ability with the use of inhibitor rings. With almost no resistance from the powerless ponies, the humans took control of Equestria and dethroned her previous leader. These humans now rule Equestria while all ponies were sentenced to servitude as slaves for their new masters. A new and thriving market for slave ponies has boomed over the last several years, creating another submarket of slave hunters. For one particular slave hunter, his life is forever changed when all of sudden, he becomes the hunted.

I cannot BELIEVE how insulting I find this story to be! This isn't the fifties or the sixties, in a time when being gay or beig black or being a woman meant being inherently less a person. This is 2013! The people of Earth have written constitutional amendments condemning the enslavement of others. To say that "most people" would find it acceptable to take over a country of peaceful sentient PONIES who welcomed humans into their world with open arms is FUCKING OFFENSIVE. How lowly do you think of your own species?! Nobody would be okay with this! NOBODY! Slavery was an economic drain on the US economy as discussed in countless economic papers. It's morly reprehensible to every major religion, and its freaking outlawed in all the industrialized nations! Ok, where to start with this. Being gay, black, or female does not make you less of a person, I agree with you on that. But why do women get payed less than men then? Yes, people of EARTH have made laws (because not every industrialized country has a constitution) that prohibit slavery and it is morally frowned upon. But people still partake in the capturing, buying, and selling of people, even in industrialized countries. It just isn't as easy to do nowadays. You also imply that most people frown upon slavery and would never invade a country and make the peaceful inhabitants their slaves. For my counter argument, I would like to bring up America. That is basically how America was made. We immigrated over seas (Like a wormhole), established relations with tribes once we landed, though it took some time to do so, (Relations with Celestia), and when we were basically desperate for survival, we back stabbed the Indians and made them our slaves, while also taking everything they had. You say it is something people wouldn't do, but it has happened. It is an exact repeat of what has happened, just told differently.
The next part is about slavery and the economy. In the south, many major plantations relied on slavery. This in turn affected the economy, mostly in the south. If slavery would have been banned, which it thankfully was, it would have been terrible for the plantations owners and anyone who had slaves, because they would lose profit and prices of food, which might I add was more than 70% of all food produced in the United States at the time (Learned in my American History 2010 class), would have increased and caused a burden on the economy at the time as well.

In several passages in the bible, slavery was accepted and not morally frowned upon. (However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way. (Leviticus 25:44-46 NLT))

And I am not asking you to chuck out all human decency and basic facts and logic about the world, but I am asking you to stop looking at just the painted picture that has been placed in front of you. You need to really look at how the world works or did work. I wrote this story because so many people have forgotten what we came from and how we used to be. I am reminding them of their history, and to be honest, I want reactions like yours. It proves my point that people can't handle the truth and use irrational logic to justify their opinions and actions. If you would like to debate more, please leave another comment. They aren't enslaving a sovereign state, they are enslaving a certain territory in the Country of Equestria. I never said that all of Equestria was enslaved, but major parts of it is. And I would also like to point out that this is pretty much what happened when people immigrated to America and tried to establish colonies. They would get help from the locals in exchange for things like guns, gunpowder, ect. Once there were enough of them, they would overthrow smaller tribes of Indians, before moving onto other large ones. The indians were made into slaves and were considered property, just like how the ponies are.

Yes, we do have entire governmental divisions assigned to bring these scum to justice. But slavery is still existent in the United States, and since there is still a market for it, then they are buyers who also are ok with slavery currently.

I would have to disagree with you on this one. The Bible is approving of slavery and it is also asking us to have a double standard. The double standard part can be derived from the passage I used earlier (You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way.) It is stating that you can treat your slaves as property, but not your family. And nowhere in the passage does it give advice to slaves on how to cope with their situation. It gives advice on what slave owners should do, which would be to treat slaves as property, but not anyone related to you.

Oh no, that is not what I want you to do at all. I am not asking you to ignore centuries of civil rights advancements. I am asking you to look beyond that and see what we have done as human beings that people seemed to have ignored or forgotten. Bringing these topics up, like slavery, I want to educate the public that not only did we do horrible things, but they are still around even if we are too ignorant to notice them.

I am sorry that the truth offends you. You are reinforcing my view that people cannot handle the truth when placed in front of them and that many people in industrialized countries are ignorant of what really happens in the world. You also state that I think lowly of humans, which is far from the truth. I don't think lowly of all humans, but some of them I do and with a justifiable reason. The things that humans are still doing, whether it be under the table or publicly, makes you really think low of the human race at times. I know that we have come a far way from when things used to be worse off than now. There are millions of decent people living in the world that are far from what I depict them as in the story. But there are also millions of people in this world that fit perfectly with how I depict humans. We tend to only see the good side of the population. Like I said earlier though, I am here to educate people that not only the good side of humanity exists, and that even in modern societies today, you still have problems that date back hundreds of years.
