I'll forgive you for delaying chapter 5 of Learning to Soar because this was a nice read. (but I really wanna read chapter 5,)
Though.. to be honest, Applejack princess? That is about as 'alternate' universe as anyone can get. You handled it fairly well but I still wasn't exactly convinced. Knight Rainbow Dash = believable. Princess Applejack, would take some shakespearian writing to pull off and I don't know if one chapter is enough to do it. but it was a prompt so can't really blame you on the premise.
Nice story concept, and in most of the execution.
You just really need an editor to clean it up a bit, get rid of a certain quantity of the more purple prose and sort out some of your arms and armor.

As for Princess Applejack, yes, I agree that it is entirely unbelievable. In this kind of universe, I would have probably made her a farmer or worker.
Of course, princesses are born, not bred. For this reason, the title might've been forcefully passed down to her in some way or other, and she may or may not have wanted to be a princess herself. A knight at heart, maybe?
