Sylocat

Abandoned as an infant and raised by wolves, I was discovered and brought to civilization last Friday, since when I... huh? Oh, er...

T

Sir John Falstaff had finally found himself in a spot he couldn't worm his way out of.

Now that Prince Hal has finally become King Henry V, he is purging the waywardness of his youth, starting with the rowdy friends he once knew. Some thrown in jail, some kicked out onto the street, all lost without a place in the world they once knew.

Their "daring" (sort of) escape leads them through a strange enchanted forest, where Falstaff and his band of travelers find themselves in a wondrous strange land, filled with magical talking horses. The former bandits seek refuge here, while trying to reconcile their decidedly un-pony-like natures with the social norms of their new hosts.

But interdimensional portals don't just randomly open on their own. And someone else from their old world has arrived too...

Quite enjoyable. I must admit I'm not familiar with the Shakespearian characters, but from what I see you've done a good job establishing their situation and personalities. Ponies are just fine too.

I especially like Pinkie Pie's description in the Dramatis Personae. :)

Looking forward to more.

And if all that failed, they would make their way to Dover and catch a ship bound for France, where they could perhaps scout out the Forest of Arden for a possible camp. Apparently the local duke was a genial sort.

Also:

"We 'will be sent for,' says he? Indeed we shall be sent for when God's trumpets sound, but until that day, we will be as birds pecking at crumbs from the hands of Lancaster and the Lord Chief Justice. If Hal will not by association tarnish his own crown, not a crown of his will reach us before passing through their tight-knit fingers, which will play upon a lyre's strings and have us dance like puppets for their amusement."

YESSS. He sounds like...well, like Falstaff! Which is quite a feat...

You're making me want to reread King Henry IV, both parts...

"Here in the space between worlds I can do little but speak and create illusions, and in physical realms I can manifest only as a mindless beast, which I can barely puppeteer from here." The voice now raised a bit, becoming agitated as it growled, "I, the greatest scholar and soldier in history, reduced to a monster barely able to speak or even think!"

:pinkiegasp: Oh. my. Celestia. That Makes SO MUCH SENSE!!!

Close-up, the creatures were terrifying. The bodies of horses... sort of... but faces that looked more like a cross between humans and cats. A range of colors found on no Earthly animal, and various indicators that would make them almost look like the unicorns and pegasi of ancient myths, were it not for the statures and deformities.

This marks the point at which my nonstop stream of laughter began. xD

MOAR!

2061896 I knew you'd like that one.

Watch for more. Some of the references (not that one, but some of them) might be foreshadowing...

Looks good so far.

This is still one of THE most original ideas for a crossover in the fandom.

I love the idea that soliloquies are an actual function of the universe that Sir Falstaff comes from, treating both universes as fictional in a way.

I think that this is one of the most brilliant and imaginative stories on the site. Another excellent chapter.

You do know that since the likes are only at 16, you are going to have convince a mod or admin why they should add this, personally:unsuresweetie:?
