As the last motorcycle manufacturer in the country, Sparkle Motors is the last bastion of existence for the bikers of the Sinks. Unfortunately for them, the company's vice president, Trixie, is fond of neither bikers nor their mode of transport and moves to takeover the company and turn it to the production of hovercars by killing its owner and smearing the reputation of the gangs.

She has two loose ends, however: Applejack, the leader of the Russet biker gang, and Twilight Sparkle, the rightful inheritor of Sparkle Motors. Between the two of them, they must stop corporate betrayal and prevent the outlawing of those who choose to ride on wheels.

(A crossover with Lucasart's Full Throttle)

Interesting setup. I've never seen the movie (show?) that this crosses over with, but perhaps that's best as I'll have no lingering expectations.

Aww~ snappers! It's a new story by CS! AJ and Twilight against a corporate monger like Trixie that wants to eliminate all transportation that use the vile WHEELS? I'm not sure what crossover this parodies but I don't rightly care as it's something that sounds pretty darn fun! :rainbowlaugh:

Oooookaaaaaaay... Never expected to find a Full Throttle crossover here O_o
Added to "read later" list.

It is a game. A quest to be exact.

1984806
It's a vidya game, or computer game if I'm going to be technical. A very old one at that. We're talking released in 1995. If I wasn't someone crazy who plays ridiculously retro games then this story wouldn't exist. I'm expecting approximately one other person, maybe, to know the source material, but hey, that's fine by me, it will be fun to write regardless.

Glad you think the setup is interesting at least.

1984907
No, this story's about bikers, not pirates. You might want to re-read it.

1985177
Yeah, I actually still exist? Can you believe it? I don't even know what's going on! Are ponies even popular anymore?

Awesome, glad I could hook people who have no clue what this crossover's with. It was my hope to make it accessible to all. I guess if it sounds fun then I'm doing something right... if I squint and turn my head.

1985210
And there's that one person mentioned above. Hope it doesn't disappoint when you get around to it.

Also, a "quest?" Haven't heard it put that way before. I always thought it was an "adventure game" but I have no idea what the kids call things these days.

1985235
In Russia it is "Quest" and "Adventure game" is more for platformers. In America and other English-speaking countries it is an "Adventure game" but still can be called "Quest" since there are "Police quest", "King's quest", "Space quest" and other games that uses word "Quest". How kids call them nowadays I don't know either since I don't play this kind of games lately, and I think kids nowadays prefer "CALL-O-DOOTY"-like games =/

1985235 I didn't think anyone would remember this game, bravo on that count alone, sir! :pinkiehappy:

I am interested to see where you're going with this, seeing as how you've put your own twist on the story, radically changing some elements already; though I suspect that's mostly for story-telling convenience. This looks to be good.

One final thing, though: You didn't kick the piano. :rainbowlaugh:

EDIT: For anyone interested that has a few hours to spare, I made a longplay of the source material for this story awhile back. You may wish to take a look to help with orientating yourself with the original story. Or not, your choice (/shameless self-promotion).

Well, you hooked me to read it later due to the simple reason of your written skill and motorcycles.

1985255
Interesting. I didn't know that. Makes sense, though. "Quest" is a fun name for that genre and I can see how it developed from the popularity of Sierra's old line.

It is unfortunate that age old genres like this one are not as popular as they once were but I hold no enmity towards the Duty/Halo players, especially since they are good shooters and there has been a large indie resurgence of the adventure game lately, so the genre's far from dead.

Anyway, I'm rambling now.

1985328
Two people so far that know what Full Throttle is? Color me impressed.

I'm glad you liked my divergences. I wanted to establish early on that this wasn't going to be a copy/paste story, even though it shares some very general similarities to the plot thread of the source material.

A longplay? Nice. I like your approach of interacting with everything. Some of the best lines of the game come from random things.

As for the piano, well, I was going to have AJ play it with her tongue, but I decided that was unrealistic because it was hard enough to do with hooves, so I canceled the whole scene. (That was a long sentence for a simple reference joke).

1985361
Glad it interested you. It does, after all, feature Applejack on a motorcycle. Not even War and Peace can compete with that.

1985436 I have fond childhood memories of that game. You can imagine my excitement when I discovered ScummVM and that I could play it once more. :pinkiehappy:

Writing fanfiction is all about creatvity. Making a copy/pasta story would be all well and good, with specific reference to figuring out how to work ponies into such a story, but sometimes, original creativity can do wonders; like here. Please, do continue. :raritywink:

When I made that longplay, I did it with the intent of showcasing as much of the game as possible. It's one of my all time favourite classics and I wanted to show it off.

Finally, for the piano reference, you could have had one of the gang playing it (as per the game), but doing so completely oblivious to what's going on in the bar. He keeps playing louder and louder throughout AJ and Corley's Crescent's conversation, irritating the former to point where she kicks it to get him to stop playing. Just off the top of my head. :twilightblush:

EDIT: Oh yes, I think the genre name you're looking for is "point-and-click", by the way. :raritywink:

Now I just need a Dreamfall crossover...

1985235
I still have trouble thinking of games from the 90's as old. It doesn't help I still play a few from the 80's.
Sadly, I have never actually played Full Throttle. I know it, my parents played it, and I still vaguely remember the storyline. Actually, I know where my dad's copy is. I outta play it. (I was a Sierra gamer ((Read: Quest For Glory)) growing up. :pinkiehappy:, though I have certainly played Lucasarts adventure games since.)

1985843
Ah, yes, ScummVM has been a life-saver. That thing has got more than its fair share of work from me over the years.

My thoughts exactly on throwing in my own twist on things in this fic. I figured it wasn't enough to just throw in pony personalities and call it quits. I think there's a lot of different angles you can take on the game and its style and I wanted to explore that. In the process I get to expand the world and that's always fun.

Leave it up to one of my readers to come up with a more amusing idea than me. :derpytongue2:

"Point-and-click"! Yes, I entirely forgot about that moniker.

1991555
Haven't played it yet. I'm still on The Longest Journey. I'm behind, I know.

1993031
You're not the only one. It's weird to think of the classic adventure games being as old as they are. Especially some of the text adventure games I've played. Talk about 80s.

Flip that board and you've got me. All the Lucasarts games were my introduction and I started playing Sierra games later, and yes, by all means you should play Full Throttle, go on, get to it! My story is garbage that should be sifted through later!

1997681 Feel free to steal it and add it in via an edit, if you so choose.

EDIT: Just realised RTStephens got first comment here. He's a cool dude. :pinkiehappy:

1997681
Wait... Oh, stupid me. That's the one I meant. I haven't played Dreamfall yet, either. I've got it, I just... Huh. I might go play that now.

I'm not putting my lips on that.
