PaladinChromy

I've never written for anybody else but myself to read but I figured I'd try my hoof at it now.

E

(Based in an alternate Conversion Bureau universe, slight tweaks have been made to the mythos. The setting is a present day Earth, there exists only one Conversion Bureau (located in an unspecified location in America), and that's about all that is different for this story in my slightly different universe)

Matt Deckland is a man without a real purpose, an intelligence that is squandered on a meaningless job, and no real reason exist other than obligation to attend that pointless job. Hoping to find some answers to the insane number of questions he has for himself, he seeks out the Bureau, to what end though he is unsure.

(This is an adapted version of an in-progress d20 RPG my friend made up based entirely around a sightly modified Conversion Bureau universe. As such, I will write more chapters as we progress in the game until we finish the campaign at which point I may continue the story or bring it to an end.)

P.S. I'll try to update this if it seems to garner any interest as soon as I can but a watch on DeviantArt (where the new chapters will first be posted) and feedback on the story would be much appreciated. :)

Take my pinkies!
you deserve them.

Man, all I get to do in our DnD campaign is kill rats in a sewer under Luskan. I wanna do yours instead! :fluttershysad:
That aside, I'm really liking this story. I can't wait to see if Matt get ponified right away or has to wait, or just wants to wait. My favorite part is that its in a modern day setting though, I haven't seen that angle before.

Good grammar, check.
Good line spacing, check.
Interesting character, check.
Tracking? Hell yes.

@ShadowLancer
Many thanks. I'm looking forward to writing this next chapter already.

@wlyteth
Right well, we've already gotten through enough today for me to begin. As for our game, we've pretty much fleshed it mostly out. The show existed, there's a.... different reason for the introduction of ponies to earth (A single portal bridging the worlds, rather than bubbles that place Equestria on earth some how, I don't know things are... different but we've set it all up to make for a very interesting RP world.)

And if all this didn't make you jealous enough, we also run a secondary game "Steampunk Ponies" that is more action based, has a ton of different D&D races and influences in the game, and yah... Fun things are fun. : D

Chapter 1 most likely will not be up here until later in the day tomorrow or Sunday, a bit sooner on my DA.

And I feel like I'm ranting now. ^^' Thanks for the tracking.

Well this is embarrassing. I realized as I was writing Chapter 1 that Matt Deckland magically becomes Mark Deckland about half way through the story. :derpytongue2:

I suppose that's what I get for writing and proof reading this at 4 AM in the morning... Corrections have been made and Chapter 1 is not long out.

To anyone who has an interest in this, I apologize for the wait, a conflict of interests between me and the RPG owner forced me to re-write what I had of the story. Essentially, this is no longer the game and just from my own mind. :facehoof:

Well... Hope you guys enjoy.

Look forward to the story and I am enjoying it so far.
Seems solid.
Only request would be to make the chapters longer (not huge, just longer with more details, ect.), but if you make the chapters longer, then the amount of time between updates goes up. So ehh, pros and cons, do whatever you want.

I too am not very pleased with the length of Chapter 1, to be honest. It was necessary but even as I posted it I knew it was short. Next chapter (even though I haven't started it yet) will be longer. I just needed to get the introductions out of the way.

I'm sorry to hear that. This is still above the threshold of being better than 90% of all fiction every written, even though technically not much has happened. Looking forward to whatever happens next.

Wow. I appreciate the compliment. :rainbowkiss:

To anypony wondering where the next chapter is:

Well, I'm quite busy with this new job I just got, once I'm through with training I will most likely have time to write the next chapter. As of right now though, I'm exhausted :ajsleepy:

You should write more, to relieve stress :pinkiehappy:

Wait, never mind :derpytongue2:

Tell us the news. What is the status report on the next chapter? Do you have time to write?
