Most authors think their work is terrible when they reread it. Keep writing and keep seeking different feedback, you'll definitely improve. Hang in there.
I can't say i didn't see something like this coming when you uploaded that other chapter way back in the day, but still, it was quite a surprise. Personally, i think you're being way too harsh on yourself, i thought the first chapter of this was nicely written and really interesting, i even added it to favourites (back then, i was really picky about what i'd favourite, it took something that really impressed me to get in there) and i'd have loved to see more of the story.
But this is your choice to make, and if you feel that quitting writing is the thing you have to do, then i respect that.
