Even Trade has been pushed out of her business, locked out of her home, and has had her family ties severed. Remembering a promise made by Sturdy Bookend, she arrives in Ponyville hoping that his offer for aid still stands. She finds more than a safe haven in Ponyville; she finds a new town to call home.

This story follows the events in To Fear the Sun. While reading the previous story is not needed to enjoy this one, I recommend that they be read in sequence.

2075935 Thanks for the comment! This poor story was quite lonely till you showed up. This was my first story with multiple chapters, and I did not know how it would be received. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I love your storys, there ALL awesome :twilightsheepish: I hope you keep up the good work :rainbowdetermined2:

Very cute piece. It felt very rushed, so many things just happened so fast that they didn't really have much emotional weight to them. As well there were often small typos or grammar issues that cropped up so I'd suggest an editor or prereader to help you catch them:pinkiesmile:

Either way a very enjoyable fic and definitely a sign of your talents.

Faving to read the rest at a more convenient time. Looks very interesting. :3

Very cute! Nice flow; it was a bit rushed, but it felt like an episode of the show. Very well done:moustache:.

5597926 Thank you for giving this story a shot and even more for liking it. It was my second try at writing fan fic, and it shows. However, I learned a lot from the attempt, including how to better pace a story. I have promised myself that I would not reach back to my older works to give them overhaul, but every now and again this one tempts me to break that promise. There was something about it that I really liked, and it was fun to write.

I like this. I would have liked to have seen more Even!TradexSturdy!Bookend, but hay, if her barn door don't swing that way, it don't swing that way. :pinkiehappy:
Is there a sequel? If there isn't, here's an idea: Even Trade gets a strange magical artefact in stock, and, while examining it, Sturdy Bookend gets himself genderbent. And then write some stuff, romance fluff etc...
And now Sturdy must make a choice-stay as she is now, or go back to normal and risk losing a relationship he didn't know he had?
#FemSturdyBookend :raritywink:

5773567 Thank you for the comment and the idea! This story was a bit of an experiment, and I'm glad you enjoyed it. I am not planning on a sequel right now. I have another story to finish up before I consider any more. I might revisit these characters later, but right now I am so swamped I cannot even hazard a guess as to when that might be.

Take care, and thank you again.

Thank you very much. This is one of my earlier stories, and it shows in spots, but it one of my favorites.

Heh, when they said that Dinky had wanted to end up in a dragon's hoard, I thought for sure they'd run around trying to find her, and end up getting chased by a dragon and getting to so much trouble in the old castle, only to find out that Dinky had been transported to the top of Spike's comic book shelf. đŸ¤£

Thank you for giving this story a shot. It is rough in spots, but I learned a lot in writing it and had a lot of fun doing so. This story is also the origin of my take on Hooves family and Dinky's personality.
