Long ago, in times of uncertainty and discomforting peace, Princess Celestia signed a peace treaty with the Sky Tyrants - a great kingdom of dragons from a faraway land. This treaty would keep the dragons of Equestria at bay and ensure safe development for her pony subjects as they expanded their borders. All was well with Her Royal Highness' subjects, but there was a dark secret to the pact: Princess Celestia would have to give her armies to the Sky Tyrants when time came for the Sky Tyrants to defend their own kingdom from their unspoken enemies.

A call came by courier one day... the Sky Tyrants were under attack. Celestia deliberated on her decision as much as she could before sending her reply. An enemy of the great dragons were certainly more than a match for her pony armies, but a vow was a vow. Despite her hopes, she would never hear from the Sky Tyrants again - and her sacrifice, she prayed, would not come to haunt her.

Nearly 600 years later, her past finally catches up to her when, in a vivid dream Princess Celestia is approached by an apparition who warns about an approaching menace. This time Celestia must lay aside her trust in her guards and subjects and take action on her own, lest she lose what is dearest to her. For this threat, beyond a shadow of a doubt, is out of this world as she knows it.

Meanwhile, our heroines begin having strange encounters; some good, some unsettling, and some traumatising. Though without a doubt they all have met with a strange fate, none of them could ever dream that this would all tie together with one single event 600 years ago. One decision. One aftermath.

Author's Note: I am open for critique, feedback and comments. While the dislikes are a good way for me to learn from my mistakes, they aren't terribly good at conveying the faults in my writing. I encourage you to give comments and sharing your thoughts. This story is subject to change at any time - due to a combination of less free time, will to expand/elaborate/alter/improve, and an editor/proof-reader who is amusingly invested into my writing.

The revised version of 'Pathfinder' is now gold. A few days later than I'd hoped, so I apologise for that. :twilightblush:

You will notice the major change in title, now called 'The Wight Chronicles - Summer: Pathfinder and the Wight of the Waters,' and deals with a very specific event. Rather than trying to tell a story spanning over 100's and 100's of chapters, I've opted instead to split them into parts so that any could be read without the other, and to make the prospect of approaching the story less tedious. As much as I like to write, I sure as heck was NOT doing a very good job about it before.

I hope you will enjoy reading the new 'Pathfinder!'

Edit: Hm... I didn't know removing chapters would also remove previous comments -_- , darn...
