Not in any major sense, no. The basic idea was a request, but the characterisation is just my interpretation of what the discorded ponies were like. Obviously with a little more artistic liberty on Twilight, but we didn't see much of her at all, so I felt the whole "desperately wanting to belong" thing was a suitable reverse to her normal indifference to going against the grain. Also it's pretty hot, and that's the important thing, right?
