The two-part series pilot "Friendship is Magic", but with a Kingdom Hearts twist. Aspiring Keyblade master Twilight Sparkle fails her attempt at the Mark of Mastery exam. To help get her mind off her studies, Princess Celestia sends Twilight to the nearby town of Ponyville to oversee preparations for this year's Summer Sun Celebration. But the threat of a great 1,000-year-old evil looms.
(Gasp! A Kingdom Hearts crossover! It's so original! ...Yeah, I know it's been done countless times already, but I just couldn't say no. I love Kingdom Hearts; I'm not exaggerating when I say it's the only thing I love more than MLP. 'Blasphemy! Burn the heretic!' I can already hear some of you thinking. Again, I thought the opportunity was too good to pass up. And so here we are.
Fair warning: if you haven't played any of the Kingdom Hearts titles, much of this story will likely go over your head; only the bare minimum of accessibility will be given to series newcomers. Secondly, as this is a Kingdom Hearts take on the "Friendship is Magic" two-parter, Sora, Donald, Goofy, and other KH characters will NOT be appearing. I feel I should make that clear so I don't end up disappointing those of you hoping to see your favorite KH characters as ponies.
Also, if this turns out to be popular, I may do Kingdom Hearts versions of other MLP episodes and even some completely original stories.)

Also, upcoming chapters will go into greater detail about the nature of the Elements of Harmony.
Finally, while the overall plot will, at its core, be "Friendship is Magic Parts 1 and 2", there will be deviations here and there once the ball gets rolling to try and keep it fresh. Dunno if I'll succeed, but I'll damn sure try.

As for the story, I find it hard to believe Twilight could wield a keyblade with her hooves. *super nerd time* In KH2, the lion version of Sora wielded his keyblade in his mouth. Since a pony hoof has less opposable digits than a paw, it should only make sense she should handle her keyblade with her mouth. Also, does everyone here wield a keyblade, like in Birth by Sleep?
On a good note, that keyblade looks damn cool. Custom for Twilight or a mash up? Secondly, does Celestia know Yen Sid?

1) Twilight wields the Keyblade through her magic (but may occasionally wield it in her mouth if the situation calls for it).
2) Most central characters (except the rest of the Mane 6) will have a Keyblade. Princess Celestia and Shining Armor both have one, and a character to be introduced later on will also have one.
3) Twilight's Keyblade is based on the "Spellbinder" from the first Kingdom Hearts game for the PS2.

1811302 Normally, you'd be right, but I established early on that Twilight's been a Keyblade wielder for several years now, and during that time she's been learning as much as she could about the Keyblade as fast as she could. Is it much of a stretch of the imagination to assume she has a few big spells under her belt? Granted, I don't plan to make her repertoire THAT extensive, but I do plan to get a little...imaginative.

Pretty sure Aqua's been a Keyblade wielder for several years too and you don't see her casting Deep Freeze at the start of the game.
Mid-level spells like Firaga and Triple Plasma would be more believable for Twilight. Twilight's power should be parallel to that of the show. Teleportation was a struggle for Twilight in the first season, but she can pull off multiple teleports in a row by the beginning of the third. There are plenty of mid-level commands that Twilight can use as she's not restricted like the games are. Just a suggestion. If you want to keep her overpowered, go ahead. But personally, I think it would be more impressive if Twilight got creative with mid-level spells than just pure power. And please, no Shotlocks.

Thank goodness, Shotlock was easy mode. So glad I did a no Shotlock run. You don't have to do this, but Command Styles would be pretty cool to see. Not sure how you'd pull it off tho. By the way, Twilight has some physical commands right?

(If you look again at Chapter 2, you'll see Shining Armor using Strike Raid and Twilight using Magnet). Avoiding the "Calling Your Attacks" trope. LOL
