What if ponies were carnivorous?

Dear Princess Celestia,

What if ponies ate meat? How would our jaws adapt? Would we be taller? How much more strong would we be? What would happen to the food chain? What about Fluttershy's animals? Would the population of animals be less?

Dear Twilight Sparkle,

I too have wondered over this question, and now I have a solid excuse to look at it. Ponies have never been carnivorous and it is against our digestive system. If we were adapted to eating meat, it would be a whole different story.

Our jaws would adapt to be able to move in most directions, allowing us to chew freely and have potentially more fluent speaking. I wonder why you would think we would be taller? Is it the fact that beef has steroids in to help this growth? Anyway, we would end up being taller if we ate beef. We would be stronger, as meats have much more nutrients than plants and we would have a very varied diet.

The food chain would of course change, to ponies being at the top, along with Griffins and Zebras. Because of this, animals would be scared of us, and so Fluttershy's cottage may be empty of animals.

Fluttershy's Cottage could also be used as a farm, or people would steal from there for food. Not good for Fluttershy or the animals. I think animals would gather round there because she is the only pony trustworthy enough to keep good care of animals.

I can also picture Fluttershy being a vegan in a world of carnivore ponies just because she's Fluttershy.

1718757, in real life horses are omnivores, like us. They can and, if abused horribly, will eat humans.

i actually think that pegasi can eat meat (such as fish)since they are part eagle -it is more of a cutural thing that prevents it

I think that ponies would occasionally collect blood samples from different animals. (I don't mean in a hunt/kill or maim sort of thing. Just a little prick of a needle to draw a few milligrams or so, like how a doctor might draw a little blood from you to check for any diseases and what not. It would be virtually painless of course. The person who would draw the blood sample would then offer the animal in question some food and other gifts in return. This is especially the case in Ponyville, where no onet want to face the wrath of an angry Fluttershy, in her Fluttermonster form.)

Anyway, once collected, those blood samples would be used to stimulate growth of artificial meat which in turn would be used for vaarious pony recipies on occasion or as a delicacy.
