Granny Smith reflects on her life and the events that led her to this day.
_______________________________________________________________

This was based on the song "Apples Of My Eye" by Feather, Rhyme Flow & Legion. I was sitting late at night listening to it for an uncountable amount of time and something (stupid as this sounds) snapped in me. The song made me think about things, things to do with life and how amazing it can be, but I won't explain it all here. I'll leave that for the author's notes.

When I was a lad, I ate 4 dozen eggs to help me get large!

Wow... that was... whoa... :fluttershysad::fluttershysad::fluttershysad:

Adding to the feels...

B-beautiful, that's all I could say.

A very touching story.

Although, the gender neutral term for a baby horse is "foal". A "filly" is a female.

It's just perfect.

I love how you described the things, and the story.

Congrats on it, it touched me.

:ajsleepy: I should not have waited so long to read this.........This is beautiful work.

:ajsmug: The story itself was touching and heartfelt and brings one back to the ever lingering thought that the apple family is two ponies short for reasons we will never know. I've wondered about it myself sometimes, having come from a family whose generations were about as tight-knit as they came, and then, with the passing of two, we all simply drifted apart into our own little family groups........ :ajsleepy: hmm..... I digress though on this thought and will say that there was one thing I wanted to point out about it. It's probably trivial but I noticed you called baby Big Mac a filly. I believe the word would have been foal or colt actually. Again probably trivial but I figured it was worth mentioning. :twilightsheepish: Also, is there to be more or is the "incomplete" label wrong? Just curious. :rainbowhuh:

:ajsmug: Now about your authors note........... :ajsleepy: More true words could never be spoken. Admittedly, perhaps I needed to read that, as I know that feeling all to well.

:ajsleepy: It is difficult to be the pillar grounded in the darkness that keeps those you cherish lifted into the light.........but eventually, the clouds will part and the sun shall sit just right, and then even the pillar shall know it's warmth for a time. :twilightsmile:

:ajsmug: A wonderful little read, my freind. I'm glad I finally got to read it.

Oh... I forgot to fix those, I'll fix the words and put it to complete. Also those are some beautiful words you said, I'm glad you read this story. :twilightsmile:

1731459 'Twas a pleasure, my freind. And thank you for the compliment. :twilightsmile:

:fluttercry::fluttercry::fluttercry:that was so beautiful:fluttercry::fluttercry::fluttercry:

:fluttercry: :ajsleepy: :raritycry: :pinkiesad2: This is actually a really good fic. I'm still questioning my own actions of looking for this fic, knowing what the song was about and all. I am gonna write another fic about this song, though it will be more about before death up until death. But yes, a very sad story to fit a very sad song.
