I'm going to guess that the thing that Postie is going to have to face that is worse than an angry ex., is either Rainbow's Dad, or (as one myself,) an older brother of Rainbow Dash's. Or it could be an angry former best friend of Rainbow's, who we all know by the name of Gilda.

A little off topic, but I originally thought that the "Parental" part in the title had to do with Dash getting pregnant, and her and Postie haveing trouble raising a foal.

I chose Hippogriff because...!
As you no doubt know, the hippogriff is half eagle, half horse. Fitting, seeing that the town of Hippogriff has a population of about half ponies and half griffons.
HOWEVER, there is another layer.
In Greek mythology, the hippogriff was what would result when a griffon mated with a mare. Seeing as the town is a labour of both ponies and griffons, it was perfect, as distrubing as that may be.
Try adding a Felmeere.
Basically a skeletal flaming horse from the twisting nether.
