Although I felt it was strange for Rainbow Dash, of all ponies, to be the one frustrated by Pinkie's awesomeness

Except she already did it once and she's still mostly fine. As a note, the inside front of the human skull is pretty hostile and pointy itself. The reason we don't go roughing up our think tanks every time we nod?

That black layer around the brain isn't empty space, it's muscle cords and fluid that basically act as suspension and shock absorbers for the main brain itself. Presumably ponies have something similar.
Ther more worrying thing would be the amount of space that horn's taking up not leaving much room for actual brain in Pinkie's head.

A good start! Some errors and room for improvment, but there's a good deal of potential here! The concept is a bit.... weird, to put it simply, but hey, that's what the [random] tag is for, is it not?

I'd still like to see where your story goes. Besides you really shouldn't give up on yours just because another person has the same idea.
You can still make your story unique to where people will still wanna read it even if it has the same idea. Take MLP, they manage to take such cliché plots and turn into excellent stories despite how much the plot's been done.
If you still want to continue this then do it, if you don't then we won't mind. I understand what it's like to start a story then decide you don't like it or want to continue it
2202101Hey thanks I appreciate the support! I'm not giving up on this story, though. I do think the author who wrote the other version executed the idea better than I did I'm not discouraged by it at all, if anything I learned quite a bit.
Now although I haven't given up on this story, I still won't continue it because I honestly just didn't think it through past one chapter and I'm working on what I think may be my best story yet! So be sure to read it. ^^

...I suddenly feel a sense of unease. Pinky's mind must have developed around the horn, meaning her brain is as much the focus for her magic as her inner horn is. Throw in the constant exposure to refined mana...it might explain her moments of seeing beyond the fourth wall, and not remembering it!!
Throw in an added moment of HOW her horn developed inward...well, rock-farm moving rock using her head since she was a filly, while her horn was likely not noticeable. Well, I think 2+2=4 there if you want to imagine nature taking a hint from physical labor and adapting. Also, thinking of how much of Pinky's antics either have spells for them...or what Pinky can do that magic can replicate given time. ...Twi would be drooling over this...and cursing herself for her studies somehow missing this...and wondering WHY they did?
But then, Pinky's magic is geared towards making other ponies smile...holy Celestia the Party Cannon's origins FINALLY MAKE SENSE!! All her powers are comedy based/geared!!
You realize...of course...you've opened a can of worms I intend to one day use as the basis for something, yes? Hope you don't mind...if so let me know. As is...this is too good to pass up!
