Lyra becomes madly twisted by science and Nietzsche's philosophies! Her rampage upsets small business in Ponyville! It's up to Alicorn AJ to save the day!
This is a (nonsense) side story to The Assumption of Applejack -or- Appletheosis. It's set five years after the events of that story. In an alternate reality. In a dream. Induced by fever. Or something. Whatever it is, it isn't canon. I apologize in advance. Partially inspired by the cover image.
[Edit:] There is now a sequel: Apples and Lyras by Rokas. Check it out. I totally endorse it as an alternate canon ending to my excessively apocryphal fic.
First!
Probably last too.

*Gasp* Of course not!
Read through and gave the like it deserves. A neat little one-shot there!
This has a funny. You get the funny award. The funny award is a comment. With Scootaloo.
(Oh and if you feel like you're writing goes unnoticed I'm in that same boat
As soon as it involved Lyra going crazy it was a pony version of Spiderman 2.
Ah, memories of the PS2 game for it.
You actually did it!

I call last post!
This reminds me of My Little Marvel: Friendship is Mutants. I like the ridiculous parody of super-heroes. Heck, there should be a group for this stuff.
1571928 You're the like this story needs, not the one it deserves. Oops, wrong comic.
1571994 No, I'm just horribly insecure. Hey, I'll give your stories a look.
1572021 Such a fun game.
1572120 Of course! I wouldn't leave ya hangin'!
1572352 I, for one, was shocked that this title wasn't already taken.
1572391Well, I failed to deliver on both counts. All I know from BRS is this image.
1572516 Nooooo, you stole the last post! I'm kinda surprised there isn't such a group already.
Pros- Lyra, robotics
Cons- Applejack
More pros than cons, thumbs up.
Pardon me, dear fellow, but I could not help but notice that your jib contains a cut which I find aesthetically pleasing.
"Stole forty cakes ... including the owners." And that epic musical showdown! I think I needed this silliness in my morning.
> the instrument had been tuned to the music of the spheres
Long shot, but was that an obscure Daylight Burning reference?

1572715 Your cons list is confusing. It contains no cons...
1573149 Your timely lexical circumlocutions leave me abashed yet reveling in geniality.
Actually, it is a reference to the Music of the Spheres.
1573150 inb4? That is a dangerous game you play. To win it will require you to pimp this story far and wide. Are you up to the challenge?
1573353
Am I a bad enough dude to feature this story.
(Hint: no)
The Heavy Augment Natural Digit Suit. You're a genius, sort of. Here is a villain I would love to see Mare Do Well fight. Or better yet, Nightmare Spike.
I'm so gonna plug myself right now: "Ponyville is presently packed with a precocious patch of peckish pumpkins that need to be pulverized. Pronto.”

Still enjoyable none the less
Alternate moral: When you use your scientifically-untrained significant-other as a lab assistant in dangerous and potentially world-shattering physics experiments, make sure s/he understands why.
You couldn't help yourself could you?
1613790 Nope. It's a terrible compulsion. I hope it at least amused, even if it's nothing like my best.
Well, that was... uhm... weird.
Weird, but entertaining!
1712375 Oh dear. This is probably my worst. For a good short comedy, more in the style of the episodes, Swine Flew is fantastic. For a more epic-adventure comedy, read The Assumption of Applejack.
This was... It's... um... OK! FINE! I got nothing!
Nah! It's ok.
I'm touched, really I am. Additionally, Bon Bon is best seapony.
I laughed so hard at the alliteration scene I nearly gagged. Choked on my spit, yes. Cried from laughing to hard, even more so. That was the single funniest moment I have ever read. Period.
1878335 Thanks! And yes, she is.
2002018 Heh, you have no idea how hard I have to restrain myself from alliterating when I write my more, ahem, 'serious' stories. It's a crime I'm very conscious of. Glad I could make you smile!
Wait, Applejack knows how to play the banjo? That poor, poor mare.
I, of course, jest, as I do enjoy a well played banjo melody and recognize that it is one of the hardest instruments to learn how to play well.
Wow.
I have read a lot of strange stories on this site. I'm pretty sure having a scene where sea-pony Bon Bon watches an immortal alicorn Applejack defeat
Doc OcLyra by playing a variation of Luthien's song from the Lay of Leithian on a banjo qualifies this as the strangest one yet. ( ...Did I really just write that sentence? )Top five at the very least.
The fact it includes a scene like that and yet remains internally consistent throughout just makes it all the more unbelievable. I heartily approve.
