That's so . . . awkward. I've got no problem with stories about romance or affection, but this is done in such a juvenile way. "Hey, Twilight. I want to know what cuddling feels like." Normal people don't just spontaneously cuddle and stroke each other. I'm not saying that it's wrong to have characters in a story who are socially awkward or emotionally stunted, but there's no explanation as to why Twilight and Rainbow are this way. I guess Twilight's kind of introverted, but why Rainbow Dash?

I watched that video and - seriously? Unless the hugging devolves into random groping (which friends do not do to eachother), then that is the silliest ban I've ever heard of. People should get out there and spend their energy on catching drug dealers or murderers or something instead of instating hug police. Or maybe worry about school violence or bullying issues rather than reciprocated acts of platonic affection.
Anywho, this was adorable. Twilight would make the whole thing into an experiment, wouldn't she?
1564920 Rainbow is the tough one - she's not used to acts of affection, and so knowing that she now wants to try one out makes her nervous. I think it makes sense that she'd go to socially awkward penguin of their group to try it out. Is the plot slightly contrived to bring the two together in this way - of course. Almost every romance fic, or adventure fic, or any fic, is at least a bit contrived - that's how you get stuff to happen that wouldn't normally occur in the show.
Oh, and totally on board with future Raridash if it were to happen. This fandom could really use more of it. Regardless, keep up the lovely work

Here's a question: why the fuqq NOT cuddle with Spike?? He's small and adorable, and would probably love some actual affection from his friends. And if that was a clue I picked up on when Dash was thinking about Rarity, it looks like Spike is gonna get left out of the fun (as usual) and get his heart broken for no better reason than a crack ship. I'm getting rather distraught over this first chapter, but it's cute so far aside from the crappy way you're treating Spike.

I have found that under the right circumstances no matter how old I get if the conditions are juuuuust right my imagination can still get away from me while I am in the twilight between consciousness and sleep and really freak me the F*** out! (one reason I avoid caffeine after 5pm)
I guess when you are young you know so little that anything can be scary.
But the older you get the more things you know there truly are to be afraid of and why.

I already have a lot of other stories planed but now I am at least musing about the idea of Discord ending up in our world and then once he gets to know the place simply leaving because in the end its more screwed up and twisted then he could even hope to make it.
Probably would be tagged "tragedy" and "slice of life" and also be a quick one shot that is all inner monolog of him just reminiscing over the absurdities he has learned here.

I know, right? But they really are quite similar, if you think about it. They both are incredibly ambitious, and willing to work hard for their ambition. They are also both more than a little obsessed over appearance, though they disagree as to what that appearance ought to be (Elegant v Awesome). Heck, they both want to be accepted into the top tier of Society/TheWonderbolts! The fact that they are so similar makes them excellent foils for one another, for how they differ is in the more specific cases.
It would be kind of awesome to see

I should look around and see if anyone has yet done a decent story where the rest of the ponies some how end up exposed to it. Granted the "what they fear most" aspect has been done often enough so figuring a explanation for the door still functioning and why the others are being exposed to it might actually be the harder part but could still be interesting.

The Meyers-Briggs personality typing system plots ones personality along 4 jungian dichotomies. They are as follows:

Yes. That. I suppose blatant "Sugar" fics are just not my cup of tea. Well, actually. Come to think of it. I did read something by the name of "Dance" that was just warm fuzzies but I enjoyed that quite thoroughly. Huh, well. I suppose I have standards, somewhere, but I haven't quite gone through enough Diabeetus to actually define them.
Other than whatever the above linguistic massacre is intended as, I didn't see anything that was blatantly wrong with your writing. Perhaps a bit OOC with Rainbow, but it could just be a lack of me properly envisioning that softer side that has very little canon to work with.

Oh, right, the fic. Um. I'm getting the feeling that it's going too quickly, even though it's been a good four to five days since she had her epiphany. I think it's becasue there isn't very much description of the events outside of the cuddle sessions. I don't exactly recall, but maybe adding dividers and leaving more space between the breaks for naps would also help?
I feel bad for Rarity, getting blown off like that sucks hard.
