I'm an aspiring writer and filmmaker. Movies and comics are my biggest hobby.

Twilight Sparkle and Big Macintosh couldn't be happier together. Everypony around them is glad for them too. But things get a bit complicated when an unexpected visitor shows up at Twilight's library. The rest of her friends also start to think about their futures and whether or not they'll find a special somepony.

Sequel to my previous fic Apples Are Magic. I highly recommend reading that one first.

Decided to change the cover image given that this became a more Rainbow Dash and Rarity centric story. Also felt it fit the tone a little better. Image is a combo from two pics if found on deviantart courtesy of http://hawk9mm.deviantart.com/ and http://red4028.deviantart.com/art/Rarity-s-fabulous-facehoof-315536022 ^_^

W00T!!! Didn't expect a sequal, but I'm estatic that you made one.

Instant fav!

"Big Mac raised an eyebrow at her and she stopped talking. They both walked up to her room in silence. Twilight closed the door and made sure to lock it. She didn’t want anypony to ruin the moment."

1538719 Glad to see your enthusiasm. I had always thought of a sequel in mind. I didn't want the story to be overly long as I'm not one of those who feels the need to use a lot of detail. Nothing against those who use a lot of description themselves, but it's not my style. So a sequel seemed the way to go. I'll definitely have stories that are non canon with this one, but I see myself creating a whole story arc with this. :pinkiehappy:

I have a bad feeling about this.:twilightoops: will watch some more.

Yeah, I can relate to AJ and Spike's complaints, sonsiderin the women my best friend brings home on occasion.:facehoof:

Then again, with some of the ones I have brought home from the bar... I guess I don't have much room to talk :twilightblush:

1538912 I figured most could relate to that. I also liked the idea of Spike being fully aware. To me it seems like dragons would age differently from ponies, since most species do. Plus I figured he's no longer a simple baby dragon since he talks and does all that assistant work for Twilight. :moustache:

“Don’t worry, sis,” said Applejack. “We’ve been taken the necessary precautions.” I think you can see what's wrong here.

I have to say, I was worried Spike was going to get screwed over so hard I'd have a new hole in my wall from my head bashing into it, when I saw he was having a sleepover with the CMC; however, this chapter has qualmed that concern nicely. In fact, Spike and Twilight had the best part of the chapter, couldn't stop laughing. You really hit the sarcastic nature of Spike dead on, and while I ain't terribly interested in the TwiMac, I look forward to see how the rest plays out.

Hmmmmmm... now might be a good time for Rarity to finally take notice of Spike :trollestia:

1538955 Oops, I tend to write these late at night. lol I just always felt Twilight and Big Macintosh made sense. It's the whole opposites attract angle.:eeyup:

1538955 Fixed! Thanks for pointing that out. I didn't need a whole lot more people pointing out that goofup. I'm very appreciative of people pointing out the mistakes like that. :pinkiehappy:

1539023 Think of it more as HIJINKS ENSUE! or I SMELL SHENANIGANS! :pinkiehappy:

You'd think that Applebloom would already know all about that. She DOES live on a farm, you know.

Good point, especially considering the shenanigans the crusaders tend to get up to.

1538992 That's one of those bad cliches that doesn't really work. A good couple requires a common ground to talk about and enjoy together, but they need to be different enough that they do things they normally wouldn't, broaden their horizons, and don't get bored.

Even that can be bad though, take AJ and Rarity, they share no common interest to talk about or share, but their work is their lives and they couldn't have both a farm that requires the majority of their attention and a striving fashion career that often requires travel and complete concentration.

I really don't see a pitfall to Mac and Twi like that though. Although, when it comes to kids, Mac would want them to work the farm while Twi would want them to be as absorbed in their studies as she was. Something to think about, I suppose.

1539127 I have given them common interests. Grant it that's books, but it's something. I also like to think Big Mac helps to keep Twi in balance if she gets too neurotic. As for kids, I haven't thought that far ahead.

1539089 TRUE. BUT I found it funnier for Applejack to have to make up excuses for Twi and Mac's nightly activities. And maybe Apple Bloom IS aware of what's going on, but she doesn't let Applejack know because she doesn't want her big sister to be all sad that she's growing up. At least that's how I like to see it. :pinkiehappy:

1539153 I figured as much, being that they'd need something to get them together and you seem fairly skilled at writing :moustache:

I was merely pointing out the fault of the cliche, as so few people actually realize there is one.

"At her doorstep indeed was her ex colt friend, Bookworm Ferdinand Scholar, AKA Chester Buckingham, current author of the Daring Do book series. He was looking very disheveled, and had the look of somepony who had probably been drinking a little."

1539169 Oh I'm fully aware that it's a cliche. But there's nothing new under the sun. The Bible said that, and it was penned over 2000 years ago. MLP itself takes several references from various other aspects of pop culture. In fact Pinkie Pie's forth wall, physics defying antics are reminiscent of old timey cartoons when you think about it. :pinkiehappy: Also: "I was merely pointing out the fault of the cliche, as so few people actually realize" their" is one." I think you meant "there." Let's keep an eye out for one another! And thanks for complimenting my writing. I do my best

1539205 "There's no such thing as an original thought; it only matters what you do with it."

1539252 Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is nonexistent. And don’t bother concealing your thievery – celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Godard said: “It’s not where you take things from – it’s where you take them to.” - Jim Jarmusch

I'm already a fan of this one. I never pictured Book Worm as a drinker, something pretty bad must of happened...

Time for Big Mac to take Book Worm out for some cider??? To meet some fillies??? Maybe Rarity???:trixieshiftright:

Actually, I could see Dash falling for this guy lol

I think I see where this is headed.

When Dash finds out that he writes Daring Do, she'll have him in her bed faster than you can "Saphire Statue".

1541313 That combined with the egghead inevitability, yeah, Rainbow Dash is gonna fall hard.

1541581 lol I'm told it does run in my family.

Actually, I consider myself a student of human nature, having spent many years seeing the worst at their best and the best at their worst. (And sometimes, even being aa part of both best/worst groups)

So I tend to see things, possibilities and such. Also, pairing RD with an egghead other than Twilight is quite out-of-the-box, so it fals into the realm of where I prefer to be.

1541693 Or maybe I'm just being sarcastic! :pinkiehappy: Or maybe I'm not! :rainbowwild: Am I going this way or that way!? :derpyderp2: SMOKE AND MIRRORS! :trixieshiftright:

1541814 lol We're waiting to find out what thr Big Red One is gonna think about his favorite author showing up at Twilight's door...

Couldn't really think of a better title for chapter 4.

^FanatiGeekBrony SHOT UP AND TAKE MY THUMBS UP!!!! :pinkiehappy::moustache:

P.S. oh and I DEMAND MORE!!!!!!

1539205You even named the fic after song I love! Love is a Many Splendored Thing as sung by Andy Williams is my fave version.

Anyone else thinking they knew who the likely candidate that she hit was?

1542428 Wasn't aware of a song by that name. I was just going by the saying. Since this is an MLP and romantic comedy I figured it makes sense to alter it to Love is a Many Splendid Pile of Crazy. :pinkiehappy:

1542582It is an oldie. Like 1955 old. The phrase came from the song. Still gonna give this a try after I read the first story.

1542582 That's funny, from what Metallica says, love is a four letter word lol
