Not so long ago, Twilight Sparkle and the Gang are caught in a storm... no wait, that's right now. However, they are able to settle into Twilight's Library for a Slumber Party, and ever the opportunistic, Twilight decides to share the tale the first member of her family line, and the very first true Element of Magic... Clover the Clever.

Listen well, for this is a story not oft told outside of the Sparkle Family, and it isn't all what it appears to be...

I knew someone was going to do this, but I expected to wait until the actual film was released. Meh, I'll read it anyway.

Wow. This is a really great story so far. It's been a while since I read The Hobbit, and I'm going to have to read it again before the movie comes out, but this...this is perfect. :raritystarry:

I've tried liking J.R.R. Tolkien, really I have, but the Lord of the Rings is a bit dense. I've yet to finish the first book, while I've seen all three movies. The Hobbit was great, and I'm excited to see a ponified version of it. The setting is great, the little interruptions from the main six are perfectly timed, and I can already see the resemblance Clover has to Twilight.

All in all, awesome. Keep going!

You must continue this!

Please continue this, it is really good so far:raritystarry:

Nice. Please continue this.

"oh dear… be right back" not bag. A few other spelling and grammar errors, but a great story! Keep on going.

Thanks you. I honestly expected my writing to be -much- worse then it is, what with being drunk while writing n' all.

Well damn, looks like I'm going to have to track down The Hobbit and read it. >_>
Thanks.

My apologizes. I write without an editor, so sometimes it'll be rather rough, and honestly, the Twin paragraphs are supposed to be rather hard to read by it's very nature. It happens when they're trading off sentences, builds that same sense of confusion n' all.

And thank you. I personally really like adding in Rainbow's interruptions, I find they make an excellent touch to add to the story.

There will be more. How soon, I can't say, but soon.

Well now. Thing have changed a little bit. First chapter is revised and done, the second chapter is being looked over as we speak, and more chapters are to follow as soon as they're done. Hope you all enjoy!

So far so good ^.^ How come it reminds me of 'Lord of The Rings...?' (Well more of the Hobbit, but you get what I'm saying...right? XD) :pinkiehappy:

Sugar, if it doesn't, then I'm doing a horrible job. I just hope I can get a bunch of new chapters out soon. I'll be working on writing more while I'm stuck on the boat during the next half of my deployment.

Sorry for now editing that comment sooner. I had searched names randomly and came upon this and didn't get the title. (Was having one of those days.......) When I finally did I was just :twilightoops: :facehoof: :twilightsheepish: feeling like a total idiot..... anyway, nether the less, it's still good so far. Sorry for the stupid comment.

WOW :pinkiegasp:! I have to say that was one of the best told versions of the Hobbit I've read/seen! The only version I can say is better is Pro. Tolkein's version, but thats only because hes the original author (can't diss an author now can I?).

HOLY SHIT, YOU UPDATED!! 361 days.

DAMN.

What?!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I wanted to make it a even 365! (insert sarcasm here)

I know, I know, it's been -FOREVER- since I updated, but this was due to real life (IE Military Life, IE I'mmonnaboat) deciding to take my flank on a scenic, no internet tour.

Oh stoppit you~ :twilightblush:

... Oh who am I kiddin? Keep singing the praises sugar~! But seriously, I don't think I'm quite that good, but I'm glad you're enjoying it. I promise to put out more soon. :raritywink:

AAAAAAAAAAAND...

I'm rereading everything because I forgot it all.

like if you read the book before seeing the movie

for those who don't know trolls are evil creature spawned from the depths of the internet

You know with this being based on the hobbit I'm guessing that something like the ring will show. It would be really great if you ended the chapter with twilight stopping for a bit and walking out so that she can see the item and show us that it's a family heirloom. It would show that there may be a darker history to twilights family legacy. But that's where I'd go with it what you do is up to you... You know if you ever update this story.

please for the love of tolken finish this story! i know the films have not been finished and the book itself is a dificult read to some so it will be a while but im really loving this story! its amazing!
