Aye I got permission and yes, inspiration from halo onyx. Only the first few chapters though just to help me get some writing down. The next chapter has a scene from it that was modified then it turns into a space deal for a little bit. Then its all original idea's except some random remakes from the books.
I'm sorry if this isn't gonna be enjoyable for you. My next few chapters have action in them but once I get into space I'm going to be able to do a whole lot more. I think chapter 4-5 are going to be my idea's with a goal from the book (But thats completely ok XD) and after I start just putting my idea's down it will keep being my ideas. I just use the refrences for the first few chapters to get the ball rolling cause I SUCK at starting stories.
Actually I think the only thing I take from ghost of onyx is the parachute scene... and a couple location names but thats about it

2, betrayal always makes for good story
Have not started reading it yet...but, considering I'm just finishing my own haylo spin-off, i figured I'd look for anypony else writing their spin-offs and just see what's going on! So, tracking for later...but i did read your question-thingy, and I would have to say...betrayal. It's believable, understandle, and a very viable reason to not like something.
