Music is an integral part of our lives: lifting our spirits and filling our hearts with joy. But what happens when the music fades away?
The citizens of Equestria are about to find out the hard way, as musical instruments everywhere are rendered useless by a mysterious, powerful hex. It falls to Vinyl Scratch and three DJs from another realm to save music for everypony in the world, whether they know it or not.

I’m not going to make a big fuss over this being my first FiMfic like most writers, but I will take this time to answer a few questions I feel are going to pop up sooner or later:
Q1: Why Monstercat?
I just felt like Monstercat is the kind of awesome that people should write stories about. Of course, I couldn’t just cobble together a series of one-shots and shove it down the admins’ throats with a summary like “Monstercat guys are in Equestria what will happen.” No. These people deserve better.
Q2: Why isn’t [insert favourite Monstercat artist] in this story? Are these three artists your favorites?
The Monstercat artists that will feature in this story were people I considered easy to write. Read that as “not mind-crushingly difficult.” They are not my favourite artists, because I have no favourite Monstercat artist. They’re all amazing.
Q3: Aren’t you afraid you’ll offend the real artists with this?
That is a real risk I’ve taken in mind. I’ve taken the obvious steps: no artist-pony relationships, make them good guys, actually put effort into the crossover so I’m not the only person to extract enjoyment from the story… stuff like that.
Q4: I don’t know anything about Monstercat Media. Should I go away?
You’ve made it this far without getting lost, so you should be set for the rest of the story. I am very aware that most of you haven’t even heard of Monstercat, and I wrote this fic to rectify that. If reading this story was impossible without already knowing who Neilio is, that would be counterproductive.
Q5: What if this fic doesn’t set off an explosion of brony Monstercat fans? Will you give up?
Firstly: I don’t believe this fic will set off an explosion blah blah blah. For reference, My Little Dashie is the most viewed non-adult fic on this website and it has less views than Monstercat Media's Youtube has subs. (Don’t say that’s a lot. Monstercat will NEVER have enough subs.) Yet, if I see just one comment, on any MonstercatMedia upload, that reads “Vinyl Scratch and the Monstercats sent me here,” that will be all I need to keep going.
Q6: I represent Monstercat Media and I demand you cease this infringement on our personas.
I doubt that a company as laid back and indie as Monstercat would send a representative to take down an adoring fan’s labor of love posted on a niche website, but if worst comes to worst and this innocent story somehow offends someone at Monstercat I’ll take it down without argument. The last thing I want to do is pick a fight with my idols.

'Awesome to the max' has to one of my favourite monstercat song so i :D'd when i saw the reference, but thats not all i have to say. Are you planning on adding any of monstetcats d'n'b tracks?

Here's my critical opinion on the story. Keep in mind that my words are not damning, but are only representative of my initial impressions.

I am loving the **** out of your descriptions, I will admit. Something about them manages to enthrall me. I don't have much to say, on that affront.

I found the plot to be a bit messy, but given the context of this fic, I'll let it slide. So yeah, I didn't love the fic. Didn't hate it. Really, I don't have much to say on either a positive or negative basis. I would like to see more, though.
