I like writing about the worst day of a character's life; it lets us see the mettle inside. (Pronouns: Guadalcanal/Solomons )

Ain't she a stinker folks.

Good story Sock.

Questions about Apple Bloom's skills, her ambitions and goals, her hobbies and interests. Even though Diamond Tiara knew Apple Bloom well, and they were often playmates and study-buddies since Diamond Tiara's reform, she was able to act as if the answers were all new to her.

Frankly, most of them were either "apples" or "death to the bourgeoisie".

Diamond grinds her teeth at how Apple Bloom pronounces "bourgeoisie."

Thanks!

Silver Spoon looked up from the Buck Cringle book she was pretending not to read.

Was it "Pounded In the Butt by Your Boss Lady Best Friend In an Entirely Heterosexual Fashion"?

Diamond grinds her teeth at how Apple Bloom pronounces "bourgeoisie."

"Boar-ZHWA-sheesh!"
*grinding horse noises*

Stinker indeed.
Reformed, friendly stinker... but still.

As for Scootaloo eating the salty peanuts?
"What a maroon!"

12226209
"bore-gee-OH-see."

12226180
Which is even funnier when you remember that, with her grandmother being granted land by the crown, Apple Bloom is technically nobility. :applejackconfused:

Well, she does actual work on it, so it's not like she's landed gentry.

Her fancy needs work.

Reformation takes time, but at least it's entertaining. Great job!

"Pay toilet? Five bits?! " Apple Bloom spluttered, then dug desperately into her coin purse for the fee.

As soon as I read this line, I immediately connected the dots to the title. :rainbowlaugh:

Caution: Contains Spoilers?!

"I can see somepony really got taken here," Diamond Tiara's father remarked.

Diamond tried to defend herself. "I wouldn't call it 'taken,' not exactly. I mean, everypony was here of their own free will, and they only bought things because they chose to."

"That's not what I meant," Filthy said. "What I was thinking is, your average interviewee spent, what, fifteen bits?"

"My figures say, fourteen point three."

"Uh-huh." He nodded, "And do you know the going rate at a career development advising consultancy for a practice interview, with feedback afterwards, is closer to forty or fifty bits? I mean, that's just on the low end."

Diamond silently seethed, but was careful not to show it on her face.

Filthy patted his daughter's shoulder. "Well, this isn't bad at all, for a first try. But before offering goods or services for sale, you should ALWAYS try to research the market first."

I blush! Thank you.

It works because Diamond doesn't actually have experience in the field. For full price, they could just go to an actual professional.

Diamond Tiara acts in a totally reformed and un-evil fashion.

The best kind.

More effort than a psychiatric advice booth, I guess. Though she'd better not be a bitch with footballs.

No one understands the sigmamare grindset... Diamond Tiara is just built different💪

"Pay toilet? Five bits?!"

Apple Bloom stomped her way towards the front door.
"Public urination is a crime," Silver Spoon said without looking up from the Buck Cringle book.
"So're these prices!"
"A crime with a fifty-bit fine."
The other interviewees watched Apple Bloom run the cost-benefit analysis in real time. Finally, she slumped and turned around. A slow trudge back to the bathroom would've completed the moment, but her bladder had overruled it.

Magnificent work. Thank you for it.

LOL. Perfect.

Apple Bloom spluttered. " Two bits? For a FlimFlamcola?" She grumbled as she dug into her coin pouch. "You owe me," she shouted to Scootaloo.

"Sure, sure, these are so salty I don't care," Scootaloo said, munching more peanuts.

"If they're so salty," Alula said from the next couch, "why are you eating them?"

"They're free," Scootaloo replied.

Wait a minute.
I think I know where this is going...

Came from the Aftermarket Analysis! Funny! Congrats!

...

After reading the comments, what's Buck Cringle a reference to?

As soon as the story started, I knew what Twitter/X post it was referencing.
