After recently losing a dear friend, Twilight Sparkle is at the face of a potentially dangerous enemy that her Queen can no longer handle on her own. With only a year before the return of the fabled Nightmare Moon, Twilight must aid Celestia in finding the new Elements of Harmony- before it's too late and the Queen's past catches up to her.

My Little Pony: Brimfrost is a comprehensive rewrite of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. The primary goal is to create an epic high fantasy world that makes canon from the IDW Comics, Generation 1, 3 and 4, as well as the Equestria Girls spinoff more comprehensive and cohesive. While this work is not a truly canon-compliant piece, and still utilizes my own interpretations of how I would have liked a My Little Pony show, this entire work does aim to retain the general rating of the MLP Franchise, just merely bump it from TV-Y7 to simply PG to fittingly explore deeper themes of trauma, queerness and learning to be vulnerable when things are hard.

I've worked on and off on this AU for a few years now, and aim to have this work illustrated, complete with a character guide and map of Equestria! This means updates will be slow, but I hope to make an immersive storybook experience. As I go along, I will go back and edit chapters with spruced up formatting, typo correction etc... This serves a few purposes: To make the fic immediately easier to sort through, to prevent spoilers, and to make bookkeeping on my end generally easier. This is also why this AU will be broken up into multiple works, each work covering a major story arc.
